For the world to function and sustain, it has to be inevitability built on hierarchy. As precious, rare resources, high-grade omegas are kept in captivity by powerful, elite alphas in order to reproduce the next high quality generation.

Yan Yi, a lop-eared rabbit omega, had once ravaged the battlefield with the powerful peregrine falcon alpha Lu Shangjin, had once loved him deeply, and had once tasted his heartlessness.

Now, he could only succumb to the social order and submit to his subordinate nature.

The plot is awful, I've read many wife-chasing crematorium novels and never have I ever read any this bad and just plain irritating.
Spoiler

The ML sleeps around with multiple omegas and sponsors them with money, luxury goods and other resources, brings his lovers into the house where MC proceeds to serves them tea and breakfast after a night of listening to them f*ck.

[collapse]

And,
Spoiler

MC also takes care of the ML's lover when said lover stabbed his (mc's) hand with a knife and MC hit him in turn.

[collapse]
Also, he gets tossed of the house for refusing ML's s*upid orders or simply disagreeing with him.

He is treated like absolute crap because ML got bored of him, and overtime his love for the MC 'faded away' because of some bullsh*t low pheromone compatibility. The MC is a spineless little idiot who's probably got chopped carrots for brains given the way he behaves.

I don't get how he forgave the ML after the way he's been treated for do long. Also, other people have already mentioned in their reviews the many inconsistencies throughout the story, so that's another thing.

Skip this tr*sh novel. Try the other one by the same author with a merman MC, that one is much better than this shit.

I came here prepared myself but I still feel this is totally shit.

Why every author think getting back together is HE. Can't you find more good person for MC or he finding himself happiness alone?

No words can explain the absolute HATE I have for this novel. I cried, not out of sadness, but of pure anger.

Spoiler

I just don't get how the scumbag ML can be forgiven? His sins by far outweigh his good deeds and I do not give a sh*t if he did it to protect the MC, his actions were disgusting and I'm not happy at all that he was given another chance. In my eyes, the ML didn't do enough to apologise to the MC or even compensate him properly for the trauma he caused. I'm very disappointed that the MC took him back regardless of all of the pain he went through, and despite the ML's 'redemption arc', at the end of the day the MC sacrificed the most for this relationship (his body, mind, heck even his spirit) and its such a bittersweet revelation.

  • My review is mixed. There's big headache trying to understand the logic in the plot.

The author tries to make sense,

as if ML 's as*hole behaviour has a perfect logical pairing a/o reason at the first, then tries to make the reader believe that actually, it was

to save MC's life, that's why he had to treat him as shit. And the worst is that the MC is s*upid enough to fall into this justification, because he's so in love with ML that every excuse is an opportunity to forgive him. And because he's an omega, he needs an alpha, but why the ML with whom he has only 75% compatibility? Because the MC loves the ML. Like love conquers all....

Pity, it's not well written. Some authors think that to have angst, you need to make your characters behave like like schizophrenic bipolars during 10 years. And change their personalities likes magic afterwards.

. The story deserves more deepth, contrary to some reviews that said there's some.

You have the alpha ML that is control freak and the dominant MC despite of having strong abilities, loses

his will in front of ml....

    Edit:

after MC nearly died, things get better. But you have to be courageous to read until then. Overall, not bad

Trigger warnings for r*pe, mu*der, su*cide, domestic violence, and gore.

If you're looking for some real spicy angst, you've come to the right place, because this is a 5/5 on the cry-out-of-frustration meter. This novel tells the tale of a young lop-eared bunny omega MC hopelessly pining for his ex-lover, the peregrine falcon ML.

Poor MC gets abused over and over by his piece of sh*t ex. Like really f*cking shitty, I was kinda hoping he died or that MC would end up with the second ML...

Spoiler

ML has multiple lovers with whom he has trysts openly in front of ML while using MC's body to vent. He blames MC for almost everything that happens to him and causes MC to have multiple mental breaks over the course of the novel.

At one point, MC experiences pseudo-pregnancy and he forces MC to abort the "child" while blaming him for "cheating".

[collapse]

Over time, the history behind the two ill fated lovers is revealed.

Spoiler

Their society has ranks of J1 (first evolution), M2 (second evolution), and the rarest A3 (third evolution). MC is a young A3 lop-eared bunny omega who was raised as an experimental bodyguard alongside M2 peregrine falcon alpha ML. They have a relatively low match of 75% and become permanently marked partners as soon as they came of age. However, ML had a change of heart and tried to "protect" MC by forcing him to remove his mark. Then, he abused MC over and over in order to prevent MC from getting close to him.

Over time, scumbag ML comes to realize the error of his ways and he experiences a lot of well deserved retribution.

[collapse]

There is eventually sweetness to be found with the couple but there's a lot of tears before they experience happiness. Recommended if you feel like exercising your lacrimal glands.

The couple make cameos in the novel's more light hearted sequel 人鱼陷落 (The Mermaid Falls).

Spoiler

In which the couple are blood sucking bosses with a spoiled little bunbun and force the MC lion and ML mermaid to babysit their little boy.

MTL-ed it, although more than half of the novel is focused on the dogfood, when I saw the confrontation with PBB organization (or whatever they called) it's actually good tbh. Lu Lin ending isn't that good of a climax and I was hoping there'll be a fanwai about Lu Lin and Ye Wan,

Spoiler

especially the incident where Ye Wan accidentally made a mistake so Lu Lin's gland is replaced by the J1 from A3

[collapse]

But the one fanwai only for Ye Wan

Spoiler

although it's only memory manipulation towards the dead soul so Ye Wan would have memories about living in another world happily

already made me satisfied.

This is like the combination of Before My Withering and Decade of Deep Love (10 Years I Loved You The Most) but with satisfying karma like 188 Group

This is so good?? If you come for scum alpha and omegaverse drama, I'll definitely recommend this to you. You get hurtful angst in the first 50 chapters and redemption arc for the rest of the book. Lu Shangjin is a very scummy alpha, despite doing all of that for a reason. Yan Yi is a strong killing machine but heavily dependent omega,... more>> also with a reason. I like that there's logic behind it. Not just scum alpha with "brainless" omega

AND, the redemption and repentance and chasing to get back together is not that easy, it took around half of the book. Yan Yi is indeed too forgiving, but once he's broken it's actually hard for him to give in again. Which means a well deserved karma for the alpha

Spoiler

I read the mtl so idk whether this is accurate or not but generally. Lu Shangjin has a reason why he's being such a jerk. He hurts Yan Yi out of protection so he wouldn't get entangled with his father-son feud. His father likes to force him to be with Yan Yi bcz he has high ability and able to create powerful offsprings. The more his father force Lu Shangjin, the more he reject Yan Yi. Thus he keeps hurting Yan Yi by bringing stranger omega to prove that their relationship has ended, eventhough he actually never stop loving and just stop caring. But despite that, what he did to Yan Yi is still too much. It reminds me to 10 Years I Loved You The Most/Decade of Deep Love, both of the gong did these out of love but ended up lost their way

[collapse]

Spoiler

Also there's a reason why Yan Yi is such a "weak" omega despite he has strong combat ability. Well, technically the stronger someone, the more they'll be dependent to their mate. Quite logical so it's not like a brainless omegaverse story.

[collapse]

I have read the Fallen Merman and now Lop Eared Guard. I can say the author likes to make their characters suffer and hiding behind cute half animal omegaverse. But dang I love them so much. Might be one of my favorite one so far. Their writing is exciting. I can't help but to keep turning the page <<less

It must be said that the novel goes beyond being just a story with dogblood, read it and you will understand better~
But, if you can't stand dog blood, stay away from this novel~
For me it fulfilled exactly what I was looking for, that's why 5 stars 🌷

Would give it even lesser if I could, actually the rating should in negative lol. The ML in this should leave the MC alone and go with the ML the one from black Lotus and sissy cause all these toxic black flags are a match made in heaven and not me wishing the MC to grow a backbone when it comes to the ML lol when he finally did should've known that according to bl logic it would last for only max 3 secs lol, if u like Bollywood series... more>> u will definitely like this cause after all the sh*t MC suffered they still ended up together. Disappointing so far - came for ABO dogblood and scum gong with a hopefully satisfying crematorium, but the story lacks logic and the characters - especially the ML - aren't that well-developed. Rumor has it that this author also wrote 'Can't Be Left Behind', but I really doubt it, unless the author wrote this novel first and CBLB much later. The difference is not just in writing style, but also in ability to create believable characters with psychological depth. CBLB has this, this novel does not.

I have absolutely zero problems... more>> with scummy MLs, but I do want a decent explanation for their scum nature and behavior, and here the ML just acts really inconsistent in the first half that I've read. Considering dropping this novel because the writing is making me lose brain cells. The MC is super OP, but due to a flimsy plot reason he has zero resistance to the ML, and he acts like a brainless teenager. The major problem is that the reader doesn't get a sense of why their relationship was romantic in the first place and why the MC is so devoted to the ML. The author tries to solve this through some flashbacks, but doesn't seem to have the skill to develop the characters well enough for their actions to make sense.

The MC and ML

Spoiler

seem to have been childhood sweetheart, apparently the MC was groomed to be a super soldier and also future partner for the ML to give him genetically superhuman offspring, which the ML's dad (who seems to be the real bad guy in the story) is obsessed with creating.

The MC and ML work together and fall deeply in love, to the point where the ML marks the MC and gives him a ring, which is the equivalent of marriage in this setting. Everyone regards them as a real married couple even in the present time. But the ML breaks up with the MC and forcibly removes his mark - which is extremely invasive in an ABO setting and severely affects the MC's safety and health in the future, which the ML should have known.

The plot is inconsistent here - one minute the reader gets the explanation that the ML is out to take down his evil dad and prevent him from forcing the MC into becoming a 'breeding machine' who's only role is to get imp**gnated again and again by the ML in the hope of getting a superhuman grandchild with superior genes - which was what the dad did to the ML's mom. The ML removing the MC's mark apparently means the dad can no longer keep track of the MC - but it leaves MC subject to violent and painful heats, attacks from gland thieves and h**ny alphas - plus the MC keeps staying in the ML's house, so the dad obviously knows where he is at all times. So how does this keep the MC safe? Also his actions are extremely hurtful to the MC, which even an imbecile like the ML (he really has too few brain cells) would know.

At the same time, we get the explanation that the MC 'cheated' by going to an escort and getting him to relieve his severe heat symptoms when the ML was away while the CP were still together. If they'd been together for 7 years, the ML would know when the MC was getting his heat, and how uncomfortable it would make him, so why did he not stay with him at the time? Apparently the ML was getting tired of the MC and wanted to sleep around, but we don't get to see how the relationship develops from mutual love to boredom and mundane daily life. Also the ML allows the MC to stay with him as a butler after the dramatic breakup, when if he thought the MC had actually cheated on him, he logically shouldn't have wanted to keep the other person near - unless he wanted revenge by letting his ex see him sleeping with others, but this doesn't seem to be the case.

Also while they were together the ML always wore a cond*m, and then after breakup didn't touch the MC for 3 years despite them living together, but out of the blue he suddenly has s*x with him again and never wear a cond*m - why did he suddenly forget this if he was scared of getting the MC pregnant?

And why does the ML suddenly want to replace the MC's glands for higher compatibility if he was so tired of him in the first place? It makes no sense. And then immediately abandons the plan again when the MC resists even a little bit.

[collapse]

The MC's rabbit nature is supposed to influence his behavior, but he just seems as schizophrenic as the ML - one minute he's super strong and no one can beat him, the next minute he's covering in a corner because 'rabbits are timid creatures'. It gets annoying after a while.

I don't agree with the notion that the ML is very scummy - I've read many books with worse MLs. A well-written crematorium will have the reader curse at the ML and want to beat him up, and later relish when he has to suffer and chase his lover back - but here I just felt annoyed with the inconsistencies and found it hard to sympathize with the MC because he was so dumb. Not sure if I'll continue reading, the plot is okay if you disregard the under-developed characters, but the book is pretty dumb so far. <<less

Imo, this novel deserves more stars. Yes Lu Shangjin, the alpha is a downright bastard and the dependancy Yan Yi, the omega has on him shows that he is a complete weakling. But he is not even close. Remember this is an A/B/O setting. The characters are ruled by animalistic instincts. Alphas are strong and dominant, omegas are supposedly fragile and weak. This novel has so much more than that as you get deeper into the story. There’s pain and betrayal, but there’s also redemption and healing. Recommended if you... more>> can past the tags. <<less

This novel was the most irritating novel I've ever read. I usually like this genre (scum ml, wife chasing etc.), but this one was so BAD. It wasn't done well in any way.

2 stars for the side characters, and Yanyan.

Plot:

Spoiler

The beginning was promising, the concept is very good; I liked the whole power thing. But, later on, it became such a headache. It started making less and less sense as the novel went on. The ending was unsatisfying. The extras didn't make it any better.

[collapse]

MC:

Spoiler

I thought we'd get a strong omega character who can stand up for himself, and can exist outside of his love for the ml. But no, the whole "after marking they get rly dependent" sh*t ruined it. Sad. I still liked him. But I have to say, after a while I couldn't feel bad for him anymore. It was all repetitive af. He kept suffering, it became boring. So boring, that I couldn't even feel anything towards his suffering but frustration.

[collapse]

ML:

Spoiler

A s*upid mf, that didn't get any better. He lacked any understanding. He didn't even feel bad for what he did, because "he didn't know what he had done wrong". Frustrating. He lacked any braincells. I was happy when he died, but sadly, he came back. But even then, he was too s*upid to come back to Yan Yi and fix things. I never felt bad for him. He deserved to suffer more, to suffer properly. He had no redeeming qualities. Yan Yi couldn't "fix" him, and I doubt anyone can.

[collapse]

It was not enjoyable to read, I just wanted it to end. <<less

I gave this story a 5 star for a number of reasons

1. The translators are doing a wonderful job. I want to give them the credit of being able to read and translate this story properly regardless of how angst it is, so others can still read it. Giving this a poor star review would give them discredit.

2. The story (from what I read so far) is written nicely. I like how it switches pov; from the MC's to the ML's. It goves the reader a lot more viewpoint.

3. Yes... more>> admittedly this story is absolutely heartbreaking. The ML is tr*sh and the MC is an idiot for still loving the ML. But if you read 2HA and survived then you'll definitely breeze through this one.

4. It's a great novel to read if you want those painful heart wrenching novels were you want to just cry your heart out. I'm a bit of a sucker for angst so this is my cup of tea.

Disclaimer: I don't condone marital abuse of any kind IN REAL LIFE. However if you know can differentiate reality from fiction then this will be a nice novel to read. <<less

I must say this story is fascinating, feels like we being absorps to a complete ABO universe. Start from the way the characters build, interacted each other to the power they awaken and problem they facing from that. I love the way they communicate using pheromones more than just use it for interc**rse. The details that often ignored by other abo themes, we got it fullfilled here.

I have no problem with toxic and weak characters as long as they grow and the story not dragging too long which I found... more>> here.

The rabbit MC and falcon ML complex relationship in this story also interesting to follow. Why the alpha like that and why the omega choose that way, the author give us solid story and plot to enjoy and follow.

In terms of angst this story still in medium lvl, not many smut scene also. This more about drama, romance, fluff and action.

Overall I enjoy this a lot and in my opinion this is one of the best manhua with ABO genre. Recommended. <<less

Redemption Arc is not so bad.

And a gentle reminder don't connect this too much to real life this is fiction.

I'm here for the angst and redemption arc, if u can't handle it. Don't take it to heart😂😂.

... more>> Author (and translator-san [ty btw]) deserve an applause.

They did well. Moved a lot of reader's hearts. Proof in comment section/and reviews😆😆.

I usually don't write reviews but I adore the novel (im a lil bias) and the sequel 'fallen merman' so I'm droppin this here.

Oh, and I tried mtl before I also know the hardships of tl-ing and Im a bit unsure but I feel like there's a few plothole or it was the signs of beginner author or tl-san. But yeah, so much for the effort of tl-san, and for this beautiful piece of art from author, there's always room for improvement right? Fine wine age with time^^

Don't judge a book by it's reviews? 🤣🤣 To the one reading this till here: May you overcome any challenges that come your way, emerging stronger and wiser. <<less

Honestly, it was pretty good. I tend to really dislike crematorium / wife-chasing novels with scum MLs, BUT

this one had a lot of groveling. Readers who want revenge would definitely enjoy the groveling.

And yeah, the treatment was super bad. Scum ML was super scummy, like RIDICULOUSLY scummy. Honestly, a couple of things I liked:

Spoiler
    • Author explained that the MC only kept forgiving the absolute scum ML because of literal chemical brainwashing by his glands. Once he lost the brainwashing part, he grew a backbone and didn't budge for the ML. While this isn't the most ideal, it's better than the MC being a doormat just due to pure personality reasons.
    • ML was very traumatized when growing up. In fact, I would say he was just as traumatized as the MC by his horrific father. Also, there's tons of foreshadowing that MC is not the only experimental subject, in fact, the ML is too (his eyeball is tattooed for god's sake). But the MC didn't realize that and thought of himself as inferior. Meanwhile, the scum ML was acting out a lot due to his own trauma and inability to recognize or find healthier coping mechanisms other than hurt the MC in his twisted thinking. Again, he realizes this due to some shocks later.
    • The author didn't excuse the ML's actions by trying to make the reader forgive him for his infidelity and other cruel shit, but I definitely think the backstory of the ML wasn't something the author came up with at the drop of a hat in order to whitewash him. It was foreshadowed significantly throughout the novel. I would just say, the ML's epilogue self and his early self are like night and day. He legit learned real self control and held back his entitlement toward's the MC. He no longer took the MC granted at all and even worked on his unhealthy jealousy, possessiveness, and other awful traits (such as when he stopped questioning the MC like a prisoner and let him go out and spend time with his friends). The character development from the beginning of the novel was very well done, and definitely came step-by-step.
      [collapse]
In the end, this novel was surprisingly complex and well-written. The plot was interwoven, the major conspiracies were somewhat believable due to the foreshadowing (even if the utterly MASSIVE amounts of daily kidnapping and shootouts were a bit over-the-top), and the balance between angst, drama, and fluff was pretty good.

Wonderful translation as well, definitely elevated my rating of this novel.

I don't usually like crematorium novel but this one was okay because it seemed like th ML and MC had problems that stemmed from their respective abusive childhood environments and mistakes that mostly the ML made while still caught up in all broken emotional place as an adult. It did make me feel vulnerable but I couldn't put it down.

He chases back his wife when he starts to put two and two together and realize he is just f*cking up left and right and the things that hurt the MC... more>> are eventually explained. Then the reader realizes that ML is just f*cking s*upid.

The ending with them back together feels like it's an earned resolution for each other and the storyline takes place over YEARS so it's reasonable for that to be enough time that they do move past the hurts from the past. <<less

Honestly it pisses me off abit, but not bad exactly what I was looking for since I'm currently in the frustrating-want to cry-happy ending (?) Mood but I won't recommend for anyone looking for fluff cuz this has all the trigger warnings aside from in*est (is that a trigger?). Action, immense drama, angst oh the angst and its somehow very consistent throughou lt the... more>> whole series. I love it, couldn't stop reading it. Would deff rec to someone in that mood

I give it a 4 since I like and I'm a bit biased with the art since it's manhua is gorgeous, the story is interesting, and baby omega is just too cute, plus the story made me cry, that in it self added a 1 for me. Be prepared for the MC to go back with scum gong. I read the rest through mtl.

People have mixed feelings about this novel due to that. I for one am kinda satisfied with this novel. For the most, I feel the ML learned a good hard lesson and now it's kinda reversed with how the MC was.

The author did a great job (in my opinion) with the reader's revenge. I can kinda understand but also still can't really understand why the ML was "lost" for years and his emotions for... more>> that. The MC is not like what he was used to and the ML is aware of that and so is careful with him. <<less
