The Soaring Dragon Continent is a world of summons, you can only become strong if you become a summoner! Yue Yang, an average high school boy, was suddenly transported into this world. When he woke up, he was greeted with a lot of worried faces and found out that he had assumed another person’s identity. Turns out he’s the good-for-nothing third son of the Yue Family, who had just recently drowned himself because of a failed engagement. Unlike the third son of the Yue Family who was useless in summoning, Yue Yang succeeded in making a contract with a summoning grimoire on his first try, even when the other guy failed for the past fifteen years. Others would have a headache making contracts with beasts afterwards, but countless beasts tried to gain favour with Yue Yang instead, acting like a good kid before him.

Yue Yang the brat, however, didn’t feel grateful at all: “Scram, Mythical Beasts! Do you think you are cool like that? Go away from me now, I only like beautiful summons!”

Even when royal families approached him for his talents, the shameless brat replied, “I’m not interested in government stuff, I’m only interested in beauties!”

Hmm... Well, what to say... Yeah, this is a great novel in some ways, horrible in others. The main attracting force here is no doubt the comedy, the author has a good way with it, I am really fond of it. Especially the first 100 or so chapters were golden, I laughed non-stop. Then there would be a few arcs where he kept meeting ridiculous enemies that he couldn't hope to defeat and would get slapped half to death, with no comedy whatsoever that this series was famous for (to... more>> be unable to take itself seriously even in a serious situation as before). There was surely a bit of comedic relief, in the fights there as well, but it was way too toned down. Especially when you get to 200-300+ chapters and innates' get truly involved will it get a bit overboard, with people being so ridiculously strong that the MC can't do sh*t and just hope to not die.

Well, all in all, this author is horrible at writing serious and good action scenes. When those kind of scenes are written, the author tends to love repeating the same thing again and again with different words, if there wasn't so much bullsh*t and endless repeating (I swear, in some chapters this author can spend the entire chapter explaining one small thing, again and again, like "This thing is because of this, yeah, it's because of this, in case you didn't know still, it's because of this, what? you still don't understand? it's because of this, yeah, really, this happened because of this, seems you're mentally retarded and still doesn't understand that it's because of this, what if you still don't understand it's because of this, well, don't worry, I will keep on explaining this to you until I reach my daily word count). If we skip all repetitions and stating things people already knew, 411 chapters would surely turn into less than 300 chapters that are way more interesting to read.

I recommend to stay for the comedy and ignore the all-too-serious bullsh*t that is badly written. I don't doubt for a second that it's worth 4 stars, the 1 star reduction is because of the badly written action and repetitive text that can be glossed over instead of reading it seriously. Easily one of the funniest novels I've read, laughed out loud many times :D Would usually at the very least smile once a chapter, unless it was one of the chapters where the author tried to make this novel into something it's not and it was all too serious and dull. Don't read this for action, read it for the amusing dialogues. Long live yue yang and hui tai lang (seriously, hui tai lang is the boss, he's seriously awesome, I wish I had a wolf like him, I just wish that the author would let him accompany yue yang a bit more later on instead of guarding his underlings or training them). <<less

Highly recommended from me! MC is badass, cunning, shameless, and an honest liar XD. Well he loves his family. There are times that the jokes are corny, but we are reading this novel because this has a good plot. There is a good development to side characters, heroines, and beasts. He sometimes uses his knowledge in the past life. ... more>>

He is an abnormal genius.
There are some OP enemies too that makes the MC helpless. There are some plot armors too. Plot armors are necessary so that MC will not die. Plot armors only appears when he is surrounded by enemies on higher levels and super strong. Like when he was surrounded by the 3 great demon kings, 1 demon king, 2 lich kings, demon commanders and generals, while carrying the phoenix beauty who was injured and exhausted on his back. He had no way out ! So of course the plot armor comes.

There was also that time when he was facing the great leaders from the heaven realm. If not for the plot armor, he might have died.

There are some events with up and downs.

The Tong Tian Tower gives a new environment for the MC so that the readers won't get bored. The novel progresses stably. There are some mysteries that is still not solved.

Read this novel and continue reading. This novel is really good !

Story gets more and more boring. There are too many battle descriptions, and under-estimating the MC moments. I feel like the author keeps using the same ideas on repeat.

Never has any series made me laugh as much as this one has. It would be a sin not to pick up this novel. The guy can make even crippling and dismembering people funny.

This story is fairly average, maybe even a little above. The world building is fine but the MC is a gary stu so many of the rules of the world don't apply to him for reasons that are either not explained or esoterically explained. However I don't really think that's a large flaw in the story because this story is really just a power fantasy to begin with and the author has a very kinetic writing style, most of the times, that keeps you excited and engaged so it's one... more>> of the better power fantasies out there, so, if you're into that genre, then this is a story you'll probably like.

However, I've given it a low rating because, while the writing is good, for a power fantasy, and the world building is acceptable, the character is annoying, or rather, hateful. I say character because in stories like this, only the main character really matters, everyone else kind of blends together at some point, only interesting when first introduced or before the cast gets large, and are mostly there to figuratively, and sometimes literally, stroke the main character's c*ck and talk about how awesome he is. And because the side characters are weak, this story really hinges (assuming you like this genre) on whether you like the main character or not. If you like him, then it's all good, but if you hate him, as I did, and want something bad to happen to him, or someone to reject him, or for him not to get the ultimate treasure for once, or someone to just curb-stomp the sh*t out of him while laughing manically, you're just going to get frustrated because the world bends over to give the MC whatever he wants.

Before I wrap this up I just want to address one more point that I think is worthy of praise. This writer is fairly competent, this story is not this way by accident and the writer clearly knew exactly what he was doing, because of that you can figure out if the story is for you pretty easily. The first 100 or so chapters are a perfect sample for the story, if you like it and want to see more of the same then this is a good read for you. Now when I say more of the same, I mean the same. The specific settings and characters may change but I guarantee you that the beats of the story will just repeat over and over again, I'm confident in this, even though I dropped it somewhere between 100 and 200, not because the story is bad or incompetent, but rather because the writer is competent enough that I believe he understands his own formula and that he can make it work for his target audience. So if you don't like the first 100 chapters, you'll probably figure it out and drop it way before you get to 100, but if you kept going hoping for a change and made it to 100 and still didn't like it then don't keep reading because it's not gonna get better or change, this story simple isn't meant for you. Even if you do like the first 100 chapters, if you feel like it's not something that will be able to hold your interest if you viewed it multiple times then you should decide whether you want to give up on it or read it until it's lost its novelty and then drop it, no point stressing yourself out because it's not gonna change. <<less

In my opinion, although we have a lecherous MC this novel is really good. It manages to combine so many different genres in one and maybe not perfectly but definitely succeeds in pulling it off. I myself was skeptical at first, but I do not at the very least regret reading this novel. I strongly recommend this novel for anyone who wants to read something that is a little different from usual novels.

... kinda rough. I really wanted to like this; so I stuck with it for about 200 chapters, but ultimately came out disappointed.

-The setting was fairly unique in terms of the power/abilities.
-Humor is frequent and was initially (arguably) solid.
-Action scenes are ok.

-The author does not take full advantage of the potential of the setting. Instead allowing it to become stale over time.
-The harem doesn't feel like a harem. Not that there aren't enough girls per se; just that they all slowly devolve into one... more>> personality: "All hail the MC". With little deviation in speech or attitude, it feels like one girl competing with herself... not a good harem.
-The comedy turns sour after a while; like a fruit that was good at first but gets over eaten and so abandoned, only to watch it rot over the course of a few days. The comedy was somewhat slapstick and lewd which was fine initially, but eventually grew tiresome as the author was incapable of adding any witty or dry humor to spice things up.
-MC is an a**hole. Yes there are plenty of as*hole MCs, but at least they are usually only a**holes to their enemies or are an endearing a**hole. MC is supposed? to be an endearing as*hole but just comes across as annoying after a while; especially because he never seems to learn or change.

The wolf. I freaking love wolves. They are some of the most noble creatures on the planet. They are staunchly loyal once earned and return hate for hate and kindness with kindness. Furthermore they are intelligent, powerful creatures that have a better sense of social construction than most humans.

That said, the MC's wolf "pet" is shameless, pitiful, wretched, constantly abused (by the MC. Don't care about the reason. I'm sure their are better ways and the MC just uses the wolf's body adaptability as an excuse to beat on him when he is angry about something), and used as cheap slapstick comedy.

All of the above pisses me off to no end. That is personal, and purely subjective to the enjoyment of the story, but it does affect how I view the work to some extent which, when combined with the previously mentioned cons, results in my low scoring of the work at 2/5. <<less

This novel is kind of a guilty pleasure for me.

Technically the content is just slightly above average, with a decent but not perfect translation, and a lot of the usual ingredients of both japanese 'OP in an other world' and chinese 'martial arts give godly powers', with harem and a tinge of magic thrown in there for good measure.

And it's just as it sounds really, a main character that doesn't really put efforts but gets everything and is rarely even endagered, luck and plot armour everywhere, the whole 'trash becomes... more>> genius overnight', there is even broken engagement near the very start to complete the tropes.

And yet, the main character is just different enough to make it entertaining to read.
At the start, he sounds just like all of those japanese heroes that want to hide their power and lust for breasts, but his main (and frankly only) trait of being completely shameless lets the story get away with far too much.

If you just want to read something entertaining that doesn't even try to pretend to have heroes or hide the 'coincidences' that pile up sky high, there are far worse choices, and this is being translated at a stable pace for a years and a half, so you can just put it aside a few months and go back if you want to read in bigger chunks. <<less

All here, for selfish Summoner beasts, with strong harem can be found here. Interesting piece with bit of humor, good fights, interesting world and the combat system. The hero has a huge chitarskimi abilities davolno dissolute, clever, crafty, unscrupulous and self-possessed. Read does not bother about his antics.

The world is built on the levels of the system, which is already unusual.
The characters are varied and interesting davolno. No boring personalities or secondary characters that are fast disappearing or bored. Female characters are strong from the start and varied. Easy... more>> to read, especially for those who like a mixture of martial arts and harem. <<less

I love this novel.

The MC is a really abnormal genius with all the cheats it has, and for the moment (c280), it hardly meets resistances. There is no mercy, because, apart from those close to him, he sees all others as NPC. The fights are fun and violent, as in many Xianxia. No drop-secondary characters, they always revolve around the MC.

As discussed below, it also has a small pokemon side, with the concept of catching creatures and evolve.

Romance side, the MC is a pervert, but it is treated humorously. He... more>> is fun and likes to tease girls, whatever their status. The girls all have a different character (proud violent princess, mysterious and intelligent beauty, happy and loves to laugh,...), and their relationship is not boring.

This is a real harem, and the girls around him accept this idea (in a world where polygamy is common). The MC also try to share his knowledge and power to his lovers/sisters, to make them strong enough to protect themselves and to help in the fighting (even if one of is "spécial process" benefits both parties).

There are obviously many faults, sometimes lack of explanation (innate,...), but roughly speaking, this does not change from some other Xianxia (ATG, TTNH, ToDaG,...).

(sorry for the spelling, google translation) <<less

It was good at first, but for me, it later falls of around chapter 200 because the MC is such a pervert and his actions are turning more and more ridiculous. It's good if you want a story with summoning of monsters and beasts and op MC, but if you want a good story and a non perverted MC then this may not be what you want to read.

LLS is a novel about a boy who transported to another world, where the core elements of this world are summon and grimoire. It is a mixture of Chinese xianxia and Western lore. He made a lot of girlfriends and wives along the way. The underlying tone of this novel is pretty warmhearted and comedic rather than serious and dark. The main attraction point of this novel is actually relationship between MC and girls.

As a harem novel written by a female author, it does give a good taste of female... more>> characterization. Instead of an army of one-dimensional and cliche heroines, each female have interesting personality and complexity. This novel doesn't exhibit the usual "sexist stereotype" that we've seen in most Chinese harem novel. Most female are capable to handle their own growth, their own lives, and their own problems. Furthermore, they do have strong desire and goal like any other males. <<less

Fun characters and non-stop action. The love interests and other support characters are at least not forgotten like some novels of this genre. The MC and author seem to not understand the dark meaning of "pushing down" women. The story structure is constantly jumping from action scene to another without laying down any concern for good narrative flow. MC keeps receiving power for no apparent reason. I like good and funny harem novels but it seems like the author has no idea how to effectively develop a Harem MC.... more>> Maybe the author lacks relationship experience?

Suffers from the same problems as other novels of the same type: Longwinded monologues, overly redundant explanations, annoying unnecessary conjectures, imbalanced story-telling, essay-type structure and, typical Chinese style condescension against women. Broken narrative flow especially in the middle of fights that makes you forget what the characters were doing.

Read this novel if you want to. Completely neutral about this novel. Good enough to read on long trips but you'll need to skip a lot of redundancies and amateurish writing while cringing on how the MC regards women as things to "push down". <<less

Great series, have really enjoyed the story and the MC. Shiro has done a great job on translation, however they can't keep staff around lately and its basically been dropped for the immediate future. Hope to finish the series without going to machine translations for the raws.

07/21/18 edit: Been 4 months now and have only had a few new chapters, basically no communication from translators, series seems officially dead until another group picks it up.

Long live summons is kind of novel which ticks you off

It appears to be an easy, presentable story which you can relate. But sometimes you can't understand sh*t especially in earlier chapters (10-50).

MC is different from other MC and his personality is actually enjoyable. I do however don't understand his reasoning or author's for comparing soaring dragon continent which he lives to a game and people other than those close to him as NPC's.

The worldbuilding is especially rotten as I still can't figure out its principles. I don't understand if... more>> author is deliberately pretending to be mysterious or what but come on its over 100 chapters and you still can't understand f*ck

High rankers always pretend to be mysterious and few times it works, but always dragging out something which readers can't understand can't be healthy.

In despair abyss arc when he fights a sky demon who is pretending to be minor sky demon, she tries to kill each of his comrades to make him angry and atlast when he's unconscious she actually kisses him? I mean I understand stupid bimbos who fell for him easily. But this ? Even cliche antagonist fell for for him ? I mean what the f*ck, she actually even thinks of raising him as her protege. This is complete bullshit <<less

The plot is interesting but the way the author writes is a bit boring.

This is the most pervert and shameless MC i've seen so far

It's really weird how the MC has a "Plot Armor" to hide his true abilities

... more>> 1-) The person whom he is talking to is really stupid and he can lie successfully to them

2.) The person faints and is not able to see his true abilities

He hides his abilities so good that the author even wants to let the enemy sleep on the fight so they can't see his abilities. <<less

The MC's plot armor is too thick. He comprehends like 40 different powers and gets as many pets in the first 80 chapters, but only ever uses/develops 2 or 3 of them. Heart of Oak or whatever? Super beast eggs? Hydra stuff? Smoke shadow guardian beast thing? These are all used once or twice. Each are supposed to be "super OP" but the MC picks up OP abilities faster than he can develop his old ones.

I don't understand why this is rated so highly by some. The only reason why I've stuck till chapter 23 is because some rated this story 4-5 star. What am I missing... T_T
World build: 3/5 - The Summoning Grimoire pokemish theme was interesting
Plot so far: 2/5
Character: 1/5
... more>>

I don't find any of the characters interesting. The MC is just a 8 year old in a 18 year old body. He selfishly keeps information and doesn't teach his cousin, who even tries to help him at the start, just because he finds it funny. This same cousin who's parents unselfishly and selflessly spent a lot and took care of him. I'm stuck at this point and I'm cringing at the thought of some of the other things he'll do or won't just because it's funny for him. I don't know if it's the author or because of the way it's translated but when the MC tries to look cool and funny it comes out awkward and clumsy

If I were to list down all the pros of this novel, they would all be categorized under the word "harem". Yup, of all the harem novels I've read, it is one of the few that deserves to call itself a harem story. Actually, of the four stars that I gave, three of them comes fron the harem. In contrast to the rest of the characters in the story, heck, even the MC himself pales in comparison to the characterization of girls in his harem. The small bits of romance... more>> and the ero parts are smooth and well-written unlike the other awkward and childish ones that we often see. I don't know the authors gender, but seeing this kind of style, makes me suspect she's female. Maybe it only looks better because the majority are horribly bad, but the pleasant surprise it gives earns itself some praise.

However, it's many themes actually made the novel chaotic, otherwise it should have been rated higher. For one, it has too many loose ends. Since the beggining of the story, it foreshadows many things that may keep you reading, but as the story progresses, it becomes insignificant. And when its payout comes, it dosn't excite you anymore, since you get distracted by so many power-ups, revelation and other stuff that you forgot it even existed and they lose their impact. The way the fights are described should be okay, but does not have the energy and vigor that most Wuxia novels have, even against the worse ones. Other villains and side characters are cliched and feels "artificial"- it's like they're there to fulfill their roles and nothing more. They just really lack.......a lot of things.

So to sum it up, except the harem parts, the rest of the novel were..... honestly saying, its sloppy and untidy. If the writing was told in a different way and style, it would have been a lot better. Might sound harsh, but it truly gives the "it-could've-been-better" vibes. <<less
