Jiang Xiaoman was bound to a system when she was three years old. The system told her that she was the lost daughter of a wealthy family assigned to play the cannon fodder in this script. The fake daughter that her parents adopted was the heroine of the story.

Jiang Xiaoman blinked her eyes and asked, “What is a cannon fodder?”

System: “You all live in a book, and everyone is assigned their role. From now on, you should keep on blackening and be a bad child. Do you see that little boy? He has a bigger role than you, in the future, he will become the big bad villain. Why don’t you bully him now, and show him up real good!”

The naïve Jiang Xiaoman picked a handful of colorful flowers and stuffed them into his hands. “I’m showing you something really good!”

System: “…”

Darling, you got it all wrong! Not showing him something good that way!

The little boy: “I don’t need friends, I don’t need company. I’m just a burden that no one wants. It’s my destiny to be abandoned.”

Jiang Xiaoman: “That’s wrong. Everyone’s existences have meaning. System said you are especially important, even more important than me. You’ll be a really really useful person in the future!”

System: “…??”

Did it say that??

Later on, the system stopped giving Jiang Xiaoman any tasks. Jiang Xiaoman was very sorrowful and said, “Mr. System, why won’t you play with me anymore?”

System: “… just try to grow up first and learn to understand every word! You’re killing me!!”

Jiang Xiaoman worked hard to blacken (not really) under the system’s supervision until she was reunited with her wealthy parents. She scratched her little head and asked, “Mr. System, what about the task? Didn’t you say that we should fight over the family’s wealth?”

System: “What kind of wealth do you still want to fight over? You already have more money than your wealthy parents!”

It's super cute. The story shows MC and ML growth since they are in kindergarten to college. I really love the part when they are in kindergarten lol. They are just sooo cute!

Spoiler

MC and ML thought they have a baby when they are in elementary school. ML was soo disappointed when turns out there's no baby. Imagine the cuteness!!! ML will just have to wait until they grow up and have a real baby

I personally enjoyed the novel up until her real family came to take her back. Her child logic was hilarious! The ending feels rushed and meh all over.

It's so hecking cute if you want to read about a cute little girl and her villain system trying to be evil and doing so hilariously but not to the system's standards then please be prepared for cute fluffy humour and absolute delight. We even get her making someone cry 🥺 but it's funny why and friggin cute too.

The translation is awesome too so don't worry the quality is S-tier and the updates aren't long in between.

Is a good slice of life
- To enjoy just forget the main storyline no matter how much you're reminded of it. Brainwash yourself to believe it was supposed to be a cub raising story from the beginning

The story develops mostly in her childhood. She just studies and gets along with her friends. Anything else to the plot, no matter how interesting, is bearly developed by the author.

The problem is that it had so much potential: ... more>>
Spoiler

(Family's economic problems, ML's psychological problems, school's gang fights, battle for her custody, system vs a bigger system between protagonist and heroine, confrontation with a supposedly uncaring family and a cunning dad, world's forced interference with her fate...)

yet everything got brushed over or resolved too easily.

Yes, a slice of life can be without drama but is annoying seeing the premise yet bearly any action. So... 3.5 ☆ from me. <<less

mediocre. thats what I can say. its a novel with a great idea but poor execution. the childhood arc takes up a big part of the novel yet nothing truly significant happens that when high school comes along a few chapters in and they're already done and over with it and finally together. it didn't make me feel romantic or squeal in excitement. the ML were always known has a thing for her but she never even seemed to consider him as more, then suddenly they're together.

ironically imho I feel... more>> like her character is written poorly. shes smart and hardworking and... there's nothing more. I found her boring, mostly cuz I feel like this novel had no direction and the plot started to get messy.

the summary is also slightly misleading. I did complete the whole book though and it wasn't horrible, acceptable yes.

I'm just disappointed but for those who want a more simple brush thru of things can read this. <<less

Cuteness galore!

Majority of the story is about the children beign cute and making trouble, you just want to pinch our FL cheeks! There's not much drama and struggle so you will feel fresh the whole journey. I dont really like the showdown between the antagonist and the protagonist because it seems like author just want to finish the story fast, but the ending is satisfying.

It was overall a fluffy and cute story with little-to-no conflict (in my opinion it can't be considered conflict, since MC wasn't directly involved in anything).

MC is a cute kid, who loves to learn and earn praise.

The ML was adorable and can be considered a rare treasure among all those manipulative and black belly Ml's.

The family was very heartwarming and should be cherished for a lifetime.

The MC's original family had a very logical treatment in my opinion. (*Awkward*)

Spoiler

I low-key ship the MC's uncle (Jiang Xing) and teacher Tao. Their story would definitely come under the category of 'Oh my! I became the scary CEO's contracted Personal secretary! But the CEO is not that scary anymore? Doki Doki'.

I loved the part where the MC and ML thought the MC was pregnant just cause they slept together. Their romance wasn't rushed (could be said to be slow. But we have to consider the ML's condition too.).

I would have shipped miaomiao and xiangxiang if I didn't imagine hybrid cat-pig's (honestly imagine naked cats with spiral tails. It was too funny).

I wanted to know about the original Hero, Ye jiajia's little brother and if possible Liang Yuanqin's mistress and the original heroine's biological father.

I also wanted to know ye jiajia's, Zhang something's, sun something's ending's.

Gosh this was so cute. MC is so adorable like real kid would be. She's not op or unrealistic like other kids in chinese novels. And this is so hilarious I laughed until my stomach cramped. Rather than romance there is a cute crush I think. I'm not complaining about it at all two leads are barely adult till the end and romance is least priority to MC. The characters are loveble especially jiang xing. Ending is rushed a bit and I wanted more. Author must have great knowledge on... more>> child psyche. You would not regret reading this cute story that put smile on your face. <<less

I absolutely love this story. I've read it about 4 or 5 times and I'm in the process of re-reading it again. Jiang Xiaoman's antics and thought processes make me laugh. I don't find her "naughty" when she was young though but I guess it's the typical kid ideas. I love her competitiveness and how she vows to protect her friends and family.

Whenever I watch or read a less than satisfactory drama/novel, I always come back to this story. The translation is done well. I just wish that it was... more>> longer! <<less

I have to say the story has lots of good points, the FL is strong and smart, the situations are also quite funny. The only thing I am dissatisfied about is that it was okay to start the story when the FL was 3 but the whole plot was like the the young age, sometimes it was quite unnecessary, I mean they could have grown up and the childish chapters were not as much required. It was not like the growth of a characters it was just physical growth so... more>> it could have been a little shorter or just the chapter of adolescence or her real family dynamics could be made more clear.

Overall a good read I will give it that. <<less

Didn’t find it as funny as the reviews made it out to be, instead it was rather dry. MC was written as a rather realistic child, which was the difficult part bc that made her kinda unlikeable. Boasting about imported chocolates in front of other kids, etc just put me off. If you’re looking for a realistic novel, this might be it, but for me I read to escape from reality. Overall I just found the plot really bland and felt that it had deviated from its original premise.

It was really enjoyable to read the MC and the ML grow up from little buns to young adults. The way their relationship changes throughout the years and how love finally blossoms between them was very well-written. MC's shamelessness and brand of eccentricity never failed to make me laugh out loud, and the ML's character development throughout the years definitely warmed my heart. The way these two were supposed to be destined for miserable lives but managed to live such bright, happy lives makes my heart twinge.

To be honest, the... more>> peak of this novel is certainly the raising of the little buns, as opposed to the plot of the world. The top-tier comedic quality sure made it such a joy to read. Reading the MC's family build their way to a better life and how MC's presence in little bun ML's childhood changes him for the better felt more like the true development and climax of the story than the reunion and nonexistent face slapping of the original family. The emergence of the original plot's storyline pales in comparison to everything that occured before.

It feels like the novel had an initial premise, only for it to unwittingly deviate and become something better, but then had to go back and acknowledge that initial premise and deliver on it reluctantly.

I personally think this could have been improved if the novel spent even a quarter of an effort to set up an introduction and build up for the MC's biological family and the happenings over at their side to make the readers feel ANYTHING for their characters. As it is, despite the initial premise of the novel exactly being the reunion and the unintentional face slapping of the little villainess having lived a good life, everything felt rushed and lacklustre in comparison to most of the story.

What face slapping? All the set up made to establish the MC into "the neighbor's kid" legend was basically unused when the moment came. Her adoptive family's success was also never directly addressed. It seemed like the biological family never made an effort to investigate the current circumstances of the MC's adoptive family and seemed to be under the impression all along that MC lived her whole life in poverty. A big chunk of the plot was spent raising her into "the neighbor's kid" who everyone hilariously admired and resented, only for that to serve ZERO purpose in the main reveal. It was such a let down, honestly.

All in all, a fun read. Great comedy and romance. Weak "climax" and Meh ending. <<less

This was a great story. Absolutely love the MC. She's headstrong, wicked smart, and strong. Cold ML was perfectly tamed by her.

The last few chapters came out from left field a bit, as what most of use expected to happen, didn't. But still a cute story nontheless

This was really really good. If you enjoy coming of age slice of life stories and comedy this is for you. Though there are plot holes and some unanswered questions, the overall story line is excellent, with strategically placed time skips and character developments. I love how the author wrote the story from such a childish perspective with so many hilarious children logic instead of the typical "old" person in a child's body resulting in the child becoming a "genius" thing. MC is a vain-optimistic-physically strong-academic overachiever. ML is a... more>> cold-moody- scared of mouse and insects-jealous-accommodating baby. I really enjoyed their relationship development from (one sided) enemies to best friends and then to lovers. This isn't a faceslapping novel where the focus is on the original novel plot of dogblold drama with the original family. It's all about the little MC slowly growing up and trying but failing to be a villain, and taking advantage of the loopholes of being a villain instead. The scenes in the summary did not actually occur but overall, it's a really funny and light read and is a highly recommended novel! <<less

This was funny. I liked the child humor and their thoughts. Very funny. However, I was not fond of some parts of the plot that the "system" didn't clarify. Oh well, nothing is perfect.

Fluffff! Cuteness overload. I loved the MC, ML and system. All the characters felt real and genuine. There were no plot holes and just the right amount of plot armour. Our Xiaoman is the smartest! All hail cuties.

I just wish the story was a little bit longer and had more time as them as adults.

Although I was a little bit bored due to the last side story, it didn't stop my love for this story. Wuwuwuwu it was so good that I really wish for more. I don't think it's enough huhuhuhu. How about the wedding? The honeymoon? The babies? I want moreeeee.

Anyway, when I first saw the story's synopsis, I was immediately attracted to it. And right from the start, I was praying, "please be a good story. Don't go downhill." And I was glad it didn't! You don't know how many times... more>> I tried to suppressed my laughter especially when they were children. AAHHHHHH I am still laughing as I write this because I'm remember some scenes like,

Spoiler

When those two little fools (ML and FL) thought they're going to have a baby when they're in 1st grade because they slept beside each other. Oh my goodness. I can barely read it due to second hand embarrassment from them AAAHHHH HAHAHAHAHAHA

[collapse]

And then the one that really hooked me first, was of course the relationship between the system and the FL. OUT OF ALL THE STORIES WITH SYSTEM ADMINISTRATORS, THIS IS THE CUTEST AND MOST HILARIOUS DUO. Seriously, sometimes I can't also help but feel the speechless of the system. If other stories have omnipotent system which can hone the FL's character and skills, this is definitely different. The villain system was turned into a child rearing system lol. It was even influenced to be a good system at the end by the FL HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Then next is the relationship between the FL and the Jiang mother and son. It's really so funny HAHAHAHAHA. I don't know how many times I feel like the FL is strengthened by beating instead of knowledge.

Also, our FL's task to fool coax the children, thinking she's mature but she didn't know how many times the ML labeled her as a devil lol.

And lastly, of course, the sweet but very hilarious relationship between the FL and ML. These two little fools are really my happy pill for the past two days that I'm reading this. Their relationship was sweet, fluffy, and definitely one that you can feel that you're there together with them as they grow up. The misunderstanding between the two of them made me laugh (albeit silently because I can't laugh out loud or else I'll be suspected to have a relationship haiz). Also, I expected that the ML is the cold and loner type of ML (well, technically he is) but since we can also ready his monologue and emotions, it's clear that he's just a pup HAHAHAHAHAHA it's really funny how he kept saying he's so shy.

Now, moving forward, the plot of the story is really great. You might think that it's another cliché system route but it isn't. It's unique, refreshing, and lighthearted. The latter part (where the FL is already 15 and above) was slightly serious and less funny compared when to the previous arcs but nevertheless, it's not depressing nor full of schemes. The conflict was solved easily. There's no major misunderstanding or scheming, so don't expect for a satisfying faceslapping because again, this story is more on comedic side (a great stress reliever).

Now, my only dissatisfaction is that I feel like the story ended quite abruptly. I mean, not totally rushed, but there's a feeling that it's missing and lacking. I think it's because the last arc (where the ML and FL were already in college) was the shortest one compared to all the arcs. For instance, their kindergarten, elementary, and middle school lives were quite detailed and longer. There's also some left out characters like the ML's father who didn't appear anymore, not even when they visited the ML's mother (which I'm quite sad since I kinda like Uncle Yu, another funny character. I really like how he always misunderstood that his son was moved to tears instead of crying due to anger when he's with the FL when they're young). Then there's also the absence of what I mentioned from the beginning (the wedding, honeymoon, and children). Even if not all of them are present, then at least one of them should but not.
Spoiler

The story about the present life of the FL ended when they're at the Wen mansion and she said she wants to revive Jiang Yue by using the card.

[collapse]

It's quite disappointing as after all, although they're very cute and sweet when they're children, I can't really simp over them (again, because they're CHILDREN). There's the shyness of having a childhood crush (well, at least for our ML) but still, it's innocent. Unlike when they grow up that they can already kiss each other huhuhuhu.

Anyway, overall, although I really feel that it's kinda lacking of some scenes that I'm hoping for, and I'm not very satisfied with the open ending, I feel like I'm going to give it some injustice if I don't give it a full marks. After all, I to quickly finish this story, I slept veryyyy late (like super late. 7 am in the morning) and dedicated at least 24 hours to it (although divided into 2 days). So yeah, 10/10!

P. S. I forgot to mention how great the translation is! I'm very satisfied how the translator/s didn't misidentified the pronoun used for the system. Instead, it used the pronoun "it" which was the appropriate pronoun. I mean, it's a small thing but usually, systems were referred to as he or something. The grammars were also correct and it's really 10/10 as well. <<less

The story is a good read the FL and ML both have their good and bad points and are actually quite normal and believable characters, the ML and FL both families are also nicely written with very good characterization and development. The novel has its sad and dreary points yet is an enjoyable story and its also mainly because of the way the FL is with herself and those around her.

The only thing I didn't like was the how the character of the adopted daughter was written, her being spoiled... more>> made sense but the way she was depicted as a very selfish yet also very foolish doesn't make any sense also her character had no development with time rather it was like since she is bad she can only be worse. I just wish the author has given her a bit more substance at least to make her a bit 'Real' I guess. <<less
