Good school danmei featuring a pair of cute teens who meet again after being apart for 8 years and following their romance and school years until adulthood. Both protags are typical teens: moody, no self-awareness and emotionally immature. So their romance is filled with timidity, hesitation and trivial misunderstandings.

This is my 5th or 6th book by author Mo Chen Huan. It is, of course, not on par with her other big hits like 'The earth is online' or ' King of classical music'. But still worth reading despite the rushed... more>> ending. <<less

It promises to be a cute love story between two high school friends who reunite after a long absence. One is still sore at heart while the other is trying to make up for it. You know the drill.

Easy flow, good imagery, likeable characters. Looking forward to reading more before rating.

It was pretty good; Although I will say that the MC kind of annoyed me a little with the way he acted sometimes. Also that little African bit they were talking about where the MC was talking about sunscreen and was saying that the ML was going to turn into an African if he didn't wear it and the ML started talking about African men peen sizes really threw me off. I didn't really like that, but I looked past it since it was at the last 3 chapters :/ Like it really turned me off from this story. I didn't even want to finish the last 2 chapters

There's nothing wrong with this story, per se, which is why I put it at 3 stars, but I just can't get into it. I find the premise interesting, but I just can't bring myself to like the characters or the story. The ML is a cold person who is the type to bully the person he likes, and is more in tune with a dark prince from a school anime type than a realistic person. (Although you may ask why I would hope for realistic characters in a novel...... more>> and indeed, you might have a point.) The MC comes across to me as a hot and cold mess, whose inner and outer selves are completely out of sync. When we do know what's going on his head, which isn't always, his body acts tsun when his thoughts are dere and his body acts dere when his thoughts are tsun. And yet, he doesn't seem like a tsundere at all. I can't tell what his feelings are, as he seems to be in love with the ML at some points, and hates him at others. I understand that he's a teenager, so mood swings wouldn't be weird, but I feel as though it could have been better written.

Anyway, I'm stopping at chapter 6. I just started wanting to get the chapters over with rather than enjoying them. I kept on reading thinking I might start enjoying it later, but I didn't. I may come back at a later date to check the reviews to see if the story improves or whether I'm being unfair, but for now, I'm dropping this.

Edit: 10/22. I've only just realized that the author is Mo Chen Huan. I adore a few of her other novels, so I do plan to give this one a second chance at some point. Anyway, please don't take my negative review of this novel as a review of the author! <<less

I so love love love this!!! Little to no drama. Full of fluff. Story about 2 childhood friends coming to terms with their feelings for each other. ML is protective and loving while MC is cute and timid.
