Little Expert Bending Plot Lines Back

Description

In an era where a variety of male and female supporting leads, villains, and cannon fodders made face-slapping counterattacks against the male leads, the Lord System had to find a host to act as the male leads that had been slapped to death.

Thus, the mild-tempered Miao Anyun was picked by the system to transmigrate into different worlds, acting as the male lead.

There was no need to follow the original work to protect the plot line because even Lord System felt that the plots of these worlds had essentially already collapsed and were probably beyond saving. Meaning, if the plot could be bent back, he should do it, but if he couldn’t, then it was fine.

Miao Anyun didn’t even need to stay in character. Lord System only had one basic requirement——he had to make sure the male lead stayed alive.

At first, Miao Anyun didn’t make any unnecessary moves, as he just wanted to quietly go about his own business. However, for some inexplicable reason, these male supporting lead and villain counter-attackers approached him one after another, constantly gluing themselves to his side.

As for the Lord Plot that had long ago gone out-of-control like a wild horse, it was actually, for the most part, bent! back! on! track!

Lord System: The plot was bent back, but why do I still feel sorry for the host… You animals, stay away from my family’s host, bastards!

A general spoiler about the arcs' endings for whoever bases their decision whether to read on this:

Spoiler

The first two-three arcs have a sad ending. Later, MC and ML live happily together till the end of the arcs. At least the ones I read. I can't guarantee all of them.

Also, I say "sad" because I realize the intention, but the author isn't very good with descriptions, setting up scenes, or tugging at emotional strings. At least I read it all with a very unmoved heart and an expressionless face. Can't compare with the amount of bawling I've done for certain other novels. My tear ducts are ones of the weakest in existence, mind you.

[collapse]

I started reading, jumped through some chapters, fully read three arcs, and decided not to finish the novel. After just having finished a well-crafted novel, the writing in this one was noticeably worse (I mean the author's writing and not the translator's efforts). This really is the disadvantage of developing your taste. The level here is similar to a fanfic written by a teenager or a young adult. It appeared low-effort and lazy, but it's probably just the author's inexperience. Within the text, you'd sometimes get the author's commentary on her characters' actions and thoughts, in a humorous way that will appeal to younger folks, probably. I did like it when I was 16. The author was also very liberal with hashtag usage, especially in the first arc. I'm not sure whether she got complaints about it or she realized something herself, but the later arcs I saw were free of this abuse. At least if my memory serves me right... I'm usually pretty okay with the occasional #blah blah, urgent, waiting online# kind of joke, but it was way overdone here.

While there was some improvement later, the pacing, characters, and storytelling still need some work. Well, everyone has to start somewhere. This novel appears to be the author's earliest work on the publishing website (just went to check) and the only complete one. I hope she'll persevere and improve herself and gain a massive fan following one day.

As for the characters. MC is pretty decent. He follows his mission and tries to stick to the original storyline, but he's also perceptive of other people's malice and avoids falling into traps. He gave me good boy vibes. Not too interesting as a character, but not annoying either, so I'm fine with it. A noticeable trait about him is being "thin-skinned" and also being too beautiful. I think he mentioned 'like a girl' somewhere? Anyway, it brought an image of the girly uke type that was popular in BL some time ago.

The ML is the "thick-skinned", shameless, possessive with yandere tendencies, h**ny all the time once the relationship is confirmed type. He also gave me major manipulative vibes. He's also not that compelling of a character as he reads more like a trope.

I think this novel can still appeal to younger people. My opinion is critical of it based on my taste and my reading experience. I don't want it to influence anyone's perception of the novel. Read it and judge for yourselves. <<less

It's neither terrible nor good so I would rate it below average.

The translation is only up to the end of the 2nd arc but I've already found the story to be a little repetitive.

Overall the arcs so far are like little oneshots, with a very blank-face and bland MC and a one dimension, (probably black-bellied) puppy gong (so far).

The other characters are also one dimensional and they fall way too fast for MC. Especially the ML. The flow of the story is like: ML sees MC, 1 second hesitation,... more>> realises they love MC, ML doting MC then end.

The emotional development is severely lacking as well.

Ps. Might change the rating and review after a few more arcs. <<less

Not satisfying to read.

I had this kind of mentality when open it to read, like : When will this end...

It's not that boring nor annoying to drop this novel. But there's always a scene I cannot understand, it might be bc of mtl, butttt there's always like some part was cut off that makes me don't understand of some scene.

... more>> I can complete this nov might be bc I can ignore the scene that I don't understand.

I literally mostly don't understand it tho lolol.

There r so many plotholes.

There's one arc where they were In game.

Spoiler

In game. MC woke up in the game not as npc but a player of "dragon ol" or something.

The arc just start with MC in game creating character.

ML was the the big boss (NPC) in game. Literally thought MC was a virus because he can influence his emotions he wasn't suppose to have.

He observe MC (he can become one of the player. That never go offline.) while they form a team. Fight n such.

The team has 5/6 player. MC sister, brother in law, carmen, ML, MC.

Idk if one that person who literally have no presence also in the same team?

Then. 3 years later.

Completing a quest then, MC goes offline. Only then there's I see MC have some real life. But only a chapter I guess, then they go play the game again.

Camen like MC but after completing a quest he somehow just disappeared.

On a wedding in game, ML want to lock MC in game so he couldn't leave and be wt ML forever but MC still left but resulting an amnesia in the next arc.

Then ML recover his memory suddenly, he regret it but then turn calm. The end.

After that next arc.

[collapse]

The ending also unsatisfying.

I won't read this again tho. <<less

Not my cup of coffee.

The writing style's kinda juvenile and incoherent. I cringed in places where the side characters' dialogues were more like weibo comments. Everyone also fell for MC without any rhyme or reason. The story events are all over the place as author tried to introduce the casts (and their reaction to MC's existence) and the result made this novel seemed crowded yet monotonous.

Its pretty mediocre, I thought the synopsis was good and gave it a try. But theres no build up at all and it felt kind of directionless.

Theres alot of room for manueverability but the MCs character is pretty dull. I wouldnt recommend this novel

I dropped this novel. World building and description of anything other than the main leads is non-existent. Plot points are passed over and time is but a vague concept.

The MC feels dull and kinda uninteresting. He has low EQ or at least it seems so since he goes on with his life oblivious to other people's feelings for him or anything else that isn't mentioned in the plot description. He follows the system tasks when needed and stays passive otherwise. It feels like he is dead inside just like a... more>> puppet.

I can't say much about the ML other than he inexplicably gains a favorable impression of the MC as soon as the other transmigrated over regardless of whether his impression of the MC used to be bad or whatever.

What bothered me the most were the random interjections where the author addressed a character directly with short inner dialogues that are supposed to be humorous. But they hinder the reading flow at best and are annoying at worst.

Since I reached the last translated chapter so far I had to decide whether it would be worth it to MTL. It was not worth it imo so I dropped the novel.

P.s. I got a headache reading this for some reason. Now I need painkillers... <<less
