Xu Huaiqian traveled through time to the body of a sickly scholar in ancient times. His parents had just passed away, and his cousin mortgaged him to the village bully for ten taels of silver to be his husband.

He had no objection to being a bought-in husband, but he opposed arranged marriages!

He dragged his sick body, panting every three steps, and wanted to find the bully to make things clear. After paying off the debt, he would ask to leave.

But when he saw the bully for the first time, he suddenly felt that arranged marriages were not impossible.

Chen Liejiu went to collect the debt and kidnapped the sick husband back.

The villagers said that he was so hungry that he wanted to eat even a sick man who was about to die.

Chen Liejiu, who never believed in fate, fed his sick husband with good food and medicine. He didn’t believe it. How could he die young like this?

Later, Xu Huaiqian passed the imperial examination and became a first-rank official. He lived a hundred years and left countless documents. The students who recited them in the future generations could not believe that this was the weak and sickly Prime Minister in history who coughed up blood and fainted in the court at any time. Everyone thought that he would not live long.

I have read up to ch80 and I was expecting more from it: The premise of something interesting but I got disappointed. Until now, I like more the side characters than the MC.

Up until now there are some things that I don't like about it:

Spoiler

- The MC. He was 29 years old and few years has passed since then. His persona is kind of childish in many occasions. And I have read only about women putting so much attention, concern and effort in their faces like him and then behaving like a baby and expecting to be seen as manly... And he is so full of himself that behaves as annoying sometimes. Like in the next paragraph, in a situation where he is in front of the emperor and officials at the courtroom:

Xu Huaiqian was a little annoyed with Emperor Changsheng, who always interrupted him. Could he please wait for him to finish speaking?

I wonder if he thought he was the main professor in a lecture giving a speech. His transmigrated persona is not even an excuse because he has adapted pretty well to mostly everything. But he is no different than a brat when he is supposed to be the top scholar. To behave like that in front of the highest authority and the whole gabinet. And he is being collected this time while venting his anger because he is se*ually frustrated. I have read only about spoiled female leads behaving in a similar way and only those holding very high positions like the empress or the most favored concubines.

- Another point is the MC "sickly beauty" persona.

- The ML is so the OTP that is beyond comprehension.

- The whole pair dynamic gives the impression of a mix of reverse role and gender. Maybe the author wanted to make something more original but it does fall under the typical OTP.

I will fix the mistakes later on. <<less
