This is a book that tried to simultaneously be a slice of life book while the MC is solving feng shui crimes and battling demonic bad guys on the side. The result is less than stellar and makes me dissapointed.

There was a lot of cooking farming in this book. I was not expecting that much farming. Her family opens up a bun shop and she eventually buys a lot of land, grows a a lot of fruits and builds a resort near her village.

Romance is sub par and very forgettable.... more>> ML is the least characterised and boring character I have ever read about. He has no personality, except that he likes (then he loves) MC. He has a high position in the military but we only see him go on like 1 mission in the whole novel (which spans like 2 years). The rest of the time he is farming. Not that there is anything wrong with this. Purse that leisurely life, but I personally like my MLs with some personality and a goal.

The big baddie at the end was also forgettable and lame. His motivations were s*upid af
Spoiler

He was her childhood friend in her past life, who was supposed to become her concubine when she became 20 years old. But when she sacrificed herself, he also killed himself to follow her and ever since then has harbored resentment for... the world? to the ML? Who was someone that MC helped in her past life and became a great general, protecting her country and family. So the "brother" became a villain and hates ML and wants to resurrect MC and be with her forever 9n a romantic sense, and this reasoning is s*upid as it does not make sense. Guy never even confessed to MC while they were still alive and now he wants to be together forever? PLus he also killed like hundreds of unborn babies and people to resurrect her, only to realise like an idiot that she had already been reborn. Don't know whats wrong with this dudes head, but the love of his life literally killed herself to save her kingdom, and he thinks that she will be cool with him killing a few hundred people just so she can return? He has got holes in his brain for sure.

Also the ending was lame. Boo so bad.

In conclusion, this was a waste of my time. <<less

An overall decent novel but the ending 'arc' or whatever really made me angry.

The college student thing in the summary isn't really true. She basically has already graduated by the time the story starts and is pretty much just waiting for her diploma so no campus life stuff and she also kind of ends up moving back to her hometown and only occasionally comes back to the capital as well so the usual character archetypes you'd see in a college novel aren't really there. I think the only person that... more>> you might see in another novel is one of her roommates from the very beginning (who's pretty much not brought up beside passing mentions after the first 15-20 chapters). She
Spoiler

drugs the MC and tried to get her r*ped which leads MC to accidentally sleeping with the ML and getting pregnant because she's jealous that her crush liked mc

After that the whole story kind of goes off track in some ways. I think one reviewer said the author is trying to make it farming, business building, slice of life while also including intense tension, fights, ghosts, etc and I actually do agree in some ways. It might not be apparent at first but later in the story it truly does become a serious mishmash of genres, but honestly I think I didn't mind it all that much. It's because I like all the genres separately but I do understand why some people might not like it because it's really confusing sometimes. You're pulled right out of the tension sometimes when they're getting somewhere with the major case then she goes home and we spend a chapter reading about her hotel or something.

In terms of the ML, I actually liked him even though he's pretty taciturn and doesn't talk much. He's definitely a more "realistic" ML imo as in he doesn't make promises or say sweet things or preform big actions but he prefers to show his affection through small actions instead. Also I definitely agree with MC about what makes him worth falling for:

Spoiler

basically at the very end of the novel, MC tells the love rival/the major villain of the story (same person) that the things that separates the ML from him is that the ML has a sense of responsibility. If she dies at that moment, ML wouldn't go insane and destroy everything in his path and lose his morals to somehow try to get her back nor would he commit su*cide out of grief. Instead he would continue to do his duty and make sure he raised their kids and make sure that he isn't ruining other lives in his grief.

[collapse]

Which brings me to the biggest villain of the story who you sort of saw coming from a mile and a half away:

Spoiler

it's her best friend/younger brother figure from her previous life. He's obsessively in love with her and kills I think 10, 000 people and traps/destroys (?) their souls so he can resurrect MC. He actually meets MC and convinces himself it's just someone who looks like her because he's convinced that princess MC would never want the "unrefined" life MC has and is happy with. He's convinced she'd never act so shamelessly or something because she was always so restrained and elegant before not realizing it's because she's bound to the rules of social etiquette and the palace before.

[collapse]

He's insane and honestly I think we're supposed to feel bitter sweet about him but I kind of despise him- he knows MC had sacrificed herself for her people before so why would he ever think she'd be happy with him doing this "for her."

Also he brings me to the part of this novel I absolutely despised. I literally hated it so much that I docked a whole star. Although this novel has some flaws that I mentioned earlier, the romance and plot was good enough for me to give this a 4 maybe even a 4.5 if possible, but this part of the novel (and technically it's the climax I think) pissed me off so much that I'm giving it a 3.

Spoiler

they threw in a goddamn AMNESIA ARC!!!

RIGHT AT THE FREAKING CLIMAX!!!

God, basically the villain kidnaps her erases her memory of the modern world and tells her she took this body over and the previous person was pregnant (MC went into the fight not knowing she's pregnant with her second child). It not only completely dissolved the tension of the s*upid climax but also these chapters were literally the most f*cking confusing to mtl and excruciating to read. I hated this part so much that I genuinely considered dropping it but there were only like 15 chapters or something at that point. The logistics of it make no sense too??? Like she forgets but the rest of the world technically doesn't and her previous child and husband are still together. Why aren't they trying to find or convince her of everything that happened? Also the villain got her like he wanted but the entire damn time he pretty much lived away from her while she moved to a random village or something and they only met up a few times? Like what was the point of taking her from the ML then? God I despised this whole part with every fiber of my being.

[collapse]

Entertaining until the ending (maybe about 10-15 chapters or something) but the last-ish chapter and the epilogue is good again <<less

It is a complete package.

  1. Transmigration
  2. Face slapping
  3. spiritual exploits
  4. action
  5. adventure
  6. romance
  7. dedicated ml
  8. array of likable characters
  9. one big villain
  10. multiple transmigration
It is easy read. Though ML looks like a prop most of the time. His presence is justified though his usefulness 😂. Regardless this story is more about MC and her endeavours and people around her.

It is a happy read. Do read this after going through apocalypse and rpg stories.

Recommend! Supernatural aspects in the modern day. Some horror, cultivation, and romance. 5/5 for the unique twist, overall worth about 4/5.

It's a nice story, at least the translated part. It's about dealing with the "otherworldly" events in daily life of the FL who is the master metaphysicist who reads fortune, understands feng shui, sees ghosts and spiritual formations, writes talismans, has her own source of spirit water, the whole shebang. And she is an ancient 20 years old gal who transmigrates into the body of a modern 21 years old! What a relief. No age difference!

I liked almost every bit of it except the opening scene, of course, where the... more>> author deployed the "aphrodisiac+rape" combo to start the story.

Spoiler

The story begins with a manslaughter. One college graduate wants to ruin another college graduate (out of jealousy), adds aphrodisiac to her wine at the graduation party and accidentally kills her, because the victim turned out to be allergic to that substance.

The new soul takes over that drugged body and proactively seduces the man to whose hotel room she was led by the jealous roommate. The villainous bit*h confused the rooms, taking her to 1260 instead of 1206. The FL and the man had s*x and she got pregnant.

The baby's daddy is the ML, a very special forces soldier with the sky high military rank. He is a very responsible and reliable guy, that is his most beautiful and attractive trait which eventually will help him get the girl. From chapter one he told her that he will be responsible. Next time, he appears in ch 24 when both of them were on the job dealing with supernatural forces.

Romantically, the story is not really my cup of tea. The FL does not like the ML in any sense, they truly are not a good match, and the pursuit will be long and difficult. To add to that, there will be a love triangle, another guy who loved the FL since forever, for thousands of years.

I will continue to read it, because it is well written, and the FL and her family are truly nice folks, but only if the translator continues to translate. She is very good and does an awesome job (thank you, translator! 💖). Otherwise, there are several excellent novels with the same tropes to read, in that sense, this novel is not unique.

Hehehe! GOOD STUFF! This is a GEM! It is quality farming/ cooking/ business management slice of life book with an OP protagonist. There are metaphysics adventures to keep you entertained. One big biggg slightly psycho baddie and loads and loads of funnnn! The main motivation for the villain was a little stuuuppiidd TBH which drags down the plot and some parts of the plot does not really make sense but mehh all the other parts made up for it. The ending also fell a weeeeee bit short for me (coz... more>> I like the what happens in the future epilogues) but overall this is a really well written novel and the google translated version is quite understandable. JUST READ IT! NO REGRETS! <<less

MTL up to chapter 110, readability 90%.

Started strong but gradually mellow out. The romance was tepid, the metaphysic much less interesting than the beginning, not all character relationship was explored, perhaps it was to aid to the mystery of the MC previous life but so far nothing was explained properly.
