FL became orphan when mother abandoned their family while father unalived himself... she survived and later got opportuntity to be maid of kind and noble Miss Wen who later married to eldest son of Song Family (Prince Household).

In Song Family, she find peace bc her masters were good and she also met 2nd Young Master (Song Sheng). There got hints that they liked each other but can't act bc of their class status. However, peace cut short when the Emperor unjustly unalived all members of Song family just bc he's threatened.

FL and Baoer (3yo son of Miss Wen and 1st Young Master) able to hide thus escape. They travelled until they find village and have new identity as mother and son. She built business based on fish soup (Wen family's recipe).

After 3 years, FL reunited with ML who was alive. He's saved and given new identity working as young general in army. After his mission was resolved in FL's village, ML along with ministers and nobles had coup d'etat bc Emperor's tyranny.

In end, they won. ML then able to retain the dignity of Song family and have proper burial to his dead family. Afterwards, ML resigned as General. Not wanting to be involved in dirty politics bc FL and Baoer are only important to him.

Sadly... only last scene was FL expanding her business and ML coming back. I want to see more of them living as happy family.
