Super beautiful romance, but I wish it wasn't another "reincarnated into an otome game" novel because then that brings into question the personality of MC; for example, most reincarnation novels have OOC to some extent and this novel didn't really have that split personality between the game her and modern her. In this case, the reincarnation from modern world into game world creates a really noticeable and irreconcilable disjoint in that she practically reincarnates super late, whereas her game self's PAST as well as the results of her actions in... more>> the "game" play a large part in her feelings with the ML. Having her reincarnated-from-the-future self falling in love with him, to me, doesn't make as much sense because that wasn't really "her, " who at this point is like a mix between modern and game MC.

I mean there is definitely room to argue that she is still her game self. She could just have "memories from the game" or she could still be predominantly her game self while her modern self is simply there to smack her back to reality (same thing), but honestly rather than having such a meaningless and unnecessary add-in like "reincarnating from the future with memories from a game, " why not just make her a reborn villainess?? Same results, more impact--because this short story made her situation seem more like a "second chance" kind of scenario (when you read the story, you would have a 90% of agreeing with me on this point).

It would have been perfect if it were simply a reborn novel, but alas. <<less

This was very well done. The scene with the moonlight flowers is perhaps the best scene of its kind that I've read. Hats off to the author!

The author used the storytelling fundamentals splendidly.
> Characters - were believable and had good development
> Dialogue - flowed naturally and was fun to listen to
> Selectivity - no element is wasted in this story

They did "writing into the metaphor" and "show don't tell".

I also appreciate how Iris is a believable woman with her own aspirations, dreams, and conflicts.

The translation was a little off in some parts that made me wonder who was talking sometimes, but the story was nicely constructed. My favorite part was what happened after the whole "happily after" that the otome game never showed when the heroine was paired with her love interest.

But I feel like the otome game element was unnecessary because the story would have been perfectly alright without it. It was put in for no reason honestly.

This story was very charming and I liked it quite a lot, even as a one shot the author did well in making it feel like a complete story that flowed quite well rather than wasted potential like a lot of other one shots.

The characters were well developed and I could feel myself getting attached to the dynamics of the relationship between the main two, it wasn't your stereotypical cheesy shoujo romantic relationship which made me feel quite satisfied. The humour and teasing of their relationship made me break out... more>> into a smile many times. Shiris and Darius were very likeable characters which made it easy to read, and I have to say I ended up shedding tears of joy for the two near the end.

I cant believe he bought her an actual jewel as a child aaaaa I wish I could have had such a romantic childhood ww~

Also I quite enjoyed that titbit of information that he was a yandere in the bad end///ohoho~ Though I feel that information was very out of place and sudden, it shows how much Darius had loved Shiris despite her leaving.

Since this is a one-shot, my review will be short and quick. Still, skim through it if you want to read it through fresh eyes.

My rating if based on my personal preferences, as always, and I kind of wish we had a ten-stars system. Regardless, this lands itself right on my radar of 7/10. It's status as a one-shot gives this fluffy short the advantage of wrapping itself up. The background info wasn't exactly needed, but the interactions and writing makes you want to break out into a smile by... more>> the end. Sweet with a dash of humor, this makes for a pleasant and fast read. <<less

it's a heartache yet sweet story. There's also a plot twist, and I really like the words that translator chose in this story.

Thank you for translating this story. :)

For a short otomen game story that's told from the first person point of view of the female protagonist, Shiris... I'm quite suprised with how this story goes.

What's my favorite part of this story? I definitely like its ending. ;)

Warning! Spoiler!!

After her engangement is broken by the crown prince, Chris, Shiris come back home to her family and friends. There, she meet her best friend and childhood friend, Darius.

Darius has been in love with Shiris for a long time and he's unhappy when Shiris goes away to train as crown princess. Now, Shiris is back and there's nothing that could stop Darius to woo Shiris and make Shiris to be his.

I really love how the Author closed this story:

Darius marry Shiris and they live happily ever after. Everyone know how great their love for each other.

The crown prince Chris become emperor Chris. He's known as a playboy emperor and has many concubines. But he doesn't has children and no true love. Shiris is actually the one that Chris truly love.

Anna, the woman that make crown prince Chris broke his and Shiris engangement, become just a very low ranking concubine in Chris imperial harem that nobody care. Karma is a b****!

This novel is so sweet! (kyaaa <3).... The MC has her engangement cancelled by the crown prince so she decides after years of hard work to go back to her father's lands... There she meets her childhood friend.... Their interactions are so sweet <3

Even though its a short story the characters felt complete and you missed it when it ended <3

Basically a condensed version of what we imagine the otome reincarnation novels to be. Only, we get to skip all of the unnecessary confrontation drama and instead focus on the MC's personality: her thoughts, her feelings, why she ended up engaged to the prince, and where her heart truly lies. The very end about the Prince's (then King's) future seems future forced though; if she was his true love, why was he so quick to break the engagement without trying to win her back ever? Seemed like an unnecessary attempt... more>> at "revenge". <<less

It was very touching although I think it would have made more sense if the story didn't come from an otome game. A novel or a drama would have been more believable.

Slightly forced fluff, but very nice story nonetheless, supported by a good translation.

The reasons I give it 4 instead of 5 is because it puts the vast majority of the cast in the background forcibly, and it could have benefited from a few phrases to flesh them a bit, and because it would have been better off without the "otome game" setting, delivering the "would have happened" through mediums such as dreams.

On the plus side, the two main characters have way more character development than a whole lot of long... more>> running series out there, and they don't feel as flat.

In any case, very much worth taking a bit of time to read this, but it might make you wonder why a lot of other authors went for long series, when they would have made a much better story by not diluting their concepts (usually fairly interesting) and adding trope-characters just to pad the cast.
(the answer being because both authors and editors earn a lot more through series, and us reader always claim to want more when something is good) <<less

Story MC is the otome game story villainess who decides to go off script and stumbles on her own true love adventure, while otome game world MC seems to have taken a bad route in this world. Was a fluffy read for an afternoon.
