Author clearly isn't well acquainted with European history. That aside, the story has a much better romance than HHYL. It takes a while tho, and assuming you can get past the repeated r*pes at the beginning, you're in for a short, lightly dramatic, and quirky read. It's the same as Bao Er's other works, but not the same either. Think European HHYL with a less evil seme and not so desperate uke.

Too much intimacy with no actual development of storyline in the beginning. Not my cup of tea.

Read up to Ch 5. It's a bit hard to read as it has heavy r*pe in each chapter thus far, and no romance.

Story is about how in historical British/Scotland, there was a right for a Lord to claim a bride's v*rginity or first night before her husband. In this case, Walker's sister is taken to the lord for the first night, and he's come to get her back. Unfortunately, the Lord will only release her if Walker takes her place. The POV is from the Lord, so the reader can't help but sympathize how Walker is being ab*sed. <<less

That's one clever use of the Jus Primae Noctis.

Fathom's review is good for the start, but for the rest of the story it doesn't do it justice.

Yes, there is actually a plot. Granted, it's...a very small plot, but they go to France looking for a lost Princess and it's actually not that bad.

They do spend most of the time in bed instead of looking for her, however.

And Walker do question it.

Romance is very slow to bloom, as you'd expect with such premise, but there is romance and happy ending.

Rate 5 for smut read, no anxiety and easy to digest story. No confinement or excessive yandere character. The story itself doesn't have much plot but it still make sense. Compare to Hua Hua You Long (previous novel by same author), ML here is doting and sweet to MC. Their relationship began from coercion/r*pe. Both are manly. Both are handsome. I found this novel again and realized I have read it twice before. I gave it 5 stars rating with no review so here I am trying to remember how was the novel and why I rated with no comments? I didnt remember, maybe I liked the storylines but if im not mistaken, previously I didnt like the bed scenes 'caused they're lacking feeling and pleasures. Anyway, im not changing the rating. 💕

Mixed feelings about this one. Yes it started with r*pe. And it turned into love.

The story itself is good. It shows how humans can both be good and evil. And how you can fall for the most unexpected person. The other small couple (Joseph and Portland) in the story was probably the more realistic one. But the story wasn't meant to be a tragedy.

Happy ending. Quite a bit of smut
