It's quite delightful. Its strengths are the daily living, slice-of-life, fostering relationships parts. Its weaknesses are anything related to the other world.

As far as romance, there are some very subtle, blink and you'll miss them, quiet pining parts and some payoff if you're used to watching anime where romance is only ever hinted at without ever being explicitly confirmed.

It would have been a masterpiece if it had just kept on with the professor stuff and occasional dungeon diving while continuing showing off the growing relationships, but for some reason this... more>> is one of the few Korean novels I've read that ends after 136 chapters instead of going on for several hundred. The author started bringing in threats from another world and everything towards the end felt somewhat rushed and arbitrarily paced.

Even with the drawbacks, the positives were so positive that I can't give it anything less than 5 stars. On future re-reads, I'll just skim/skip the other world parts and enjoy everything else.

It is a little frustrating that it feels like even those parts could have been done well if it didnt seem like the author got bored or impatient and decided to wrap things up, but everything else was really satisfying, so it is possible that no matter how long it extended I would have been feeling the loss of the day-to-day living parts. <<less

An incredibly refreshing take on the TS (Male to Female) genre combined with the widely successful and popular Korean Hunter and monsters emerging from Gates trope.

I stumbled upon this webnovel completely by accident while browsing the other works done by this translator, at first I decided to just check it out due to sheer boredom out of a lack of other things to read but I quickly found myself spellbound by the story and the main character and decided to purchase advanced chapters.

While not entirely specified how this occurred, the... more>> story features an average Korean man transported to a fantasy world where he found himself possessing a beautiful woman with white hair and golden eyes, he was quickly determined to be the saintess and then immediately thrown into training to fit into that role eventually joining the Hero's Party and vanquishing the Demon King, thus sending him back to earth and where the story officially begins.

In the worldview of the story, the main character as part of the Hero's Party that defeated the Demon King can be considered one of the most powerful characters in the entire story right from the beginning, how they got there is built upon in later chapters as you read more. Upon arrival in earth and realizing they just want to lay back and relax after having battled for their life for the entire 5 years they spent in the other world enters an agreement with the officials to hide their identity and not reveal their status as a returnee to the public, furthermore with the assistance of the officials they are given a new identity and reunited with their beloved family member, the younger sister who happens to be one of the best parts of this novel.

As stated above, while there's not a lot of action scenes in this novel due the main character choosing to be subdued and not getting involved in battle. Where the novel really shines is the interactions between the characters, at first incredibly clumsy and awkward due to their many years apart and the older brother she looked up to completely changing his gender and appearance, they quickly grow closer and just reading the interactions between these characters was incredibly endearing, the main character themselves shows a subtle trace of trauma due to their experiences with the Hero's Party but also a desire to heal. Despite having spent 5 years in a female body they are completely unused to the intricacies of this new life that awaits them whether it's the feminine clothes or unwanted male attention, with the help of an overly eager younger sister they slowly adapt to this new life and it's really heartwarming to read, furthermore while the main character did not reject the notion of romance there's subtle hints that this is possible whether it's a Yuri or hetero relationship remains to be determined.

To conclude, this is an extremely impressive piece of work for what it is meant to be, I found myself engrossed by the character dynamics and the way the characters interwine and interact with eachother, the TS elements that sets itself from other similar stories and differentiates was also a very welcome change, the way the main character is not immediately comfortable with their new female body but slowly settles into it and tries to adapt is what other TS stories should strive to be.

Thoroughly impressed and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes TS or Hunter stories! <<less

The set up is reasonably interesting, but I low-key hate stories where the MC is hit with a bender gender for what appears to be no reason. It's so early that I suppose we wouldn't know if there is a genuine purpose, but I've never read one of these stories where it would have changed the story in any meaningful way if the MC had just originally been the gender they were changed into.

I haven't seen much of it yet so I'm conservatively rating it a 4 for now. It's an extremely young novel right now (65 chapters) so many developments are still in the making and we're basically in the first 10-15% or so of the story.

That being said, god do I enjoy it so much. I love how the protagonist isn't a super OP cheat/bugged character but is instead someone who has gone through hell and back to gain the power that she has, suffering (seemingly) horrendous ab*se at the hands... more>> of the hero party in the process. In many ways, this story is kind of the "afterstory with more plot" that comes after the main story (defeating the demon king).

I've said this before in another review somewhere, but basically how this genre differs from other OP MC stories is that the protagonist's overpoweredness is a story that belongs in the past, and doesn't come about from some mcguffin, deus ex machina, or an exploit that somehow no one else can use or could think about. A lot of OP MC stories are about crushing all obstacles along the way and a lot of weak to strong stories are about overcoming difficulty after difficulty to become strong. However, this kind of OP MC story often has a radically different vibe. Usually, it's the afterstory of a weak to strong story, where the protagonist has finally gotten to a point where they can step outside of survival mode and figure out how they want to live their lives.

This, by the way, also differs from storytelling archetypes like "I got kicked out by the hero party but was I actually really OP?" stuff. In those stories, the protagonists share the same kinds of traumatic experiences and low self-esteem, but their OP nature is usually framed as more of an unpolished gem or undiscovered brilliance. Furthermore, the tone of narration is typically framed as more of a continuation or redirection of their journey, whereas in this case it's very clear cut that her journey is over and we're peeking into her next journey or the "what comes after" section.

For a good number of stories like these, the protagonists usually go in one or more of three ways: retirement, rehabilitation, or protection. Our protagonist is going down both the protection and rehabilitation routes. Despite having some pretty awful trauma, she's doing her best to protect the people she cares about, and in that process is also in rehabilitation. I'm a sucker for stories that carry an element of rehabilitation for a traumatised character, since yes, the worlds in these stories are often really harsh, and people do often suck. Unlike classic CN revenge novels, these kinds of rehabilitative novels give me much more emotional material to work with, since 1) the trauma actually happened to the person, not just the identity they're inhabiting and 2) fluff is nice especially when it happens for a reason, not just for service.

The only contention I have so far is that the author might have written themselves into a tiny bit of a corner with the double transmigration aspect. See, the general plot of the story would work fine with a transmigrated traumatised saintess. However, to give roots to the incognito OP saintess the author wanted her to be double transmigrated, so she'd have an identity in our world and not just be controlled by the government. The problem is, if she was double transmigrated, she should have proper memories of the original world, and so recognise that how she was treated in the hero party was extremely extremely wrong, therefore having a less broken spirit. The good thing is, there are a fair few number of ways to justify this apparent discrepancy - off the top of my head I can think of a few. 1) sh*t was just that bad 2) with zero reference frame in the hero's world it became normalised for her 3) she also wasn't treated very well in the original world by others so it was just an extension of her normality 4) having to deal with both transmigration and being gender bent forced her to shut down and just survive and before she knew it this was all she knew

I'm interested to see which direction the author will take with respect to this and also with the plot - as far as I can see it seems that it's basically a world collision type story with the general plot going along the lines of her getting wrapped up in more and more hunter-related stuff until she can finally claim the quiet life she's looking for (hopefully) (very hopefully) (she deserves that and more).

Overall I'm enjoying it so far and it's a stable plotline with not much that can be done to utterly ruin it, although I've seen it happen before. I like the premise and how it's currently unfolding, and I just hope it runs well to a satisfying conclusion. <<less

Unlike some of the other reviews, I wouldn't describe this story as diverging a lot from typical returner stories. There is the gender-bending aspect of it with its regular appearance cheats, but otherwise the protagonist is just someone with cheat level abilities outside the system that the awakened use.

While those abilities were supposedly acquired through effort, that effort is not part of the plot of this novel. And while they may not be at the top level in the previous fantasy world, they definitely are after returning, and her theoretical... more>> knowledge of magic and monsters far transcends the norms as well.

A notable aspect is the diminished self-worth from constant bullying and gaslighting from the hero's party, but it's more of a flavour rather than deep trauma.

If anything the part that "stands out" is that people (including officials) are actually protecting her privacy, unlike most other such stories that lead to quick fame including the downsides of that attention.

Overall the novel has been entertaining so far, with a bunch of minor sub-plots that aren't individually important but contribute to the quality of the overall story. For instance, the protagonist's sister is a VTuber and the MC happens to become her fan because the streamed voice reminds her of her sister's childhood.

Elements like these provide comic relief and simultaneously make the world feel more realistic rather than just another generic modern fantasy. <<less

Pretty wonderful story. Background is MC ended up being isekaied into the body of a newly awakened saintess during the cataclysm. 5 years of training and battle later, MC returns to earth as a reward for defeating the Demon King in the hero party. Story is about MC's daily life in this newly changed earth and discovering what she wants to do with her life. Yes, there are gates and hunters in this fic, but aside from the occasional gate raid novel really doesn't focus on that.

At 25 chapters it's still early, but the setup is pretty good so far. The setting is a dungeon world Korea where the MC got isekai'd in the initial outbreak into a girl, became a saintess who joined the hero party, and became antisocial due to a (male) Hero who obsessed over her with the rest of the main party, all girls, treating her badly due to jealousy.

Having returned to Korea, she now just wants a comfortable life with her sister, and maybe earn a bit of cash on the... more>> side using her powers.

Up until now there's no major plotline that's popped up yet, so either the series is going to run mainly slice of life (which wouldn't be that bad) or we're still in the halcyon days of the story. MC has avoided any major commitments to the government by mostly keeping a low profile (and her government contract is so far a nice guy helping out with that). <<less

I didnt think I would, but I am enjoying the story very much. As a quick overview: the MC is a saintess that has returned from a distant world back to earth after taking 5 years to defeat the demon king on the other world. It includes her getting familiar with her world again after reuniting with her sister and how she spends her life. It is a more laid back story - which I usually find uninteresting - but im suprisingly enjoying it very much. I recommend for those... more>> who enjoy/ dont mind genderbend stories. I think this ones characters are pure and adorable so enough with the rant 10/10 in my subjective opinion.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I like how human the MC feels. Although she doesnt have any grand goals or aspirations, you can still empathize with what she wants and how she handles relationships.

Edit 2: This novel is too cute. <<less
