Hi, translator here! Translating a story kind of biases you a bit, but here's some information about this novel! I'll disclaim here that I've only skimmed the latter half of the story (I know, wtf) but I know the main plot points and I've done an in-depth read of most of it.

This is a very sweet, laid-back and relaxed story full of love, commitment, teasing, family, business, and good food. Strange combo, I know. There are hints of dog blood type drama, but this drama usually involves the side characters... more>> and doesn't directly affect the two main characters. The romance is a very important part of this novel, but it's not the only thing that the author focuses on. I'd say the main plot of this story is the MC, Lin Mo, growing and achieving the life that he's always wanted and deserved. Though the romance with our lovely ML, Han Xun, is a large part of this happy life, it isn't the only aspect. The story focuses on family (and their acceptance of the MC's homos*xual relationship), business, cooking, and long-term commitment and happiness.

Pros:

• Main characters! Both Lin Mo and Han Xun are both lovable and interesting characters. Lin Mo is a sweet yet strong character. He is both proud and kind-hearted and has a very strong set of morals. After the experiences of his past life, he is a bit jaded, but he remains open-minded and is very loyal and protective to his loved ones. Han Xun is a very devoted and loving man, but though he does have hints of the typical "obsessive one-note gong", he has a lot of personality. He's very awkward, silly, and loves to tease Han Xun. He's loving and devoted to both Lin Mo and Lin Mo's family.
• Relationship! Of course, their relationship is lovely. They feel natural and honestly have such sweet and funny interactions. Their relationship is often compared to Lin Mo's previous long-term relationship and the differences are very clear. They're devoted to each other, but they're also a very realistic relationship. Han Xun doesn't hold Lin Mo back or smother him in support, but instead helps him when he needs it and is highly supportive of Lin Mo's independence and business skills. Lin Mo gradually puts down the mistrust in his heart from his previous relationship and falls in love with Han Xun, accepting him into his circle and caring for him, even while occasionally arguing. They have previous trauma from their past life but work through it together with love.
• Realism. What, realism in a novel? Well, it's not exactly realistic, but there are some aspects of it that feel realistic that I really appreciate. The two things that stick out to me are Lin Mo's cooking skills and the main relationship. Lin Mo's cooking skills aren't magical, but instead are the result of his experience. It mentions that he researched a lot and spent lots of money on different spice recipes and such, which just feels more realistic than some of the more "golden finger" skills that some MCs have. Their relationship is also realistic feeling in that they aren't instantly perfect. There are secrets and Lin Mo has doubts in his heart, but they learn to communicate and get over these things. They're the type of couple that you can't wait to read more of.
• Food! Ahhhh, food. Cooking and food descriptions don't occur in every chapter, but they happen often enough to be satisfying without overwhelming. The author describes the food with such lovely details and it makes me! So! Hungry!

Cons:

• Weird details? There are a lot of strange details in this novel that aren't always super interesting. Things like in-depth details about side characters that aren't mentioned for more than a couple chapters, detailed business interactions, and weird financial calculations. Still, though these details are a bit strange (to me, at least) they don't terribly affect the reading experience.
• Slooow pace. This can be a pro or con depending on the reader. Though the feelings are pretty clear between them from the beginning, the pace of the plot itself is a bit slow. It focuses a lot on Lin Mo's movements, and for people who love the romance (like me) it can make people want to shake the characters and yell "just communicate!" at times. Once the characters get together officially the romance is often abundant, but the overall story pace is still quite relaxed.

Anyways, I really love this novel. The characters are very endearing (I love Han Xun soooo much) and the side characters are nice as well, if not super crazy developed. I hope everyone who reads enjoys this story as much as I do! <<less

The MC was good but wasn't anything you haven't seen before, if you've read a few novels by now.
The ML, as TheLadyWhoLikesBoyLove noted, wasn't the typical cold overbearing type. He was a shameless lovable goof.

I also agree with Junksnacks's cons. It is a slow paced story, and that's mostly because of the details that are added into it. Whilst this can be a good thing because it shows that our characters have a standing in the world around them, it can get to be a bit much.
As others have mentioned, the ending was a bit rushed, and in my opinion, a bit too dramatic. Something you would really only find in a novel. The heightened drama might feel a bit odd, since until now, most of the novel has been more lighthearted.

... There's a smutty chapter at either 77 or 78 though, so that was nice.
... And whilst not completely smutty, a more explicit scene at chapter...107?
You might have to look around a bit for the smutty chapter though, but I found it quite easily on another site.

I agree with the translator's review. The moment I saw this bl I immediately read the raw. Gave it 5 stars but it deserves 10 stars.

Plot

So the world setting is our cliche rebirth BUT I like the fact that the scum ex didnt show up too much. The story progress as our MC (Lin mo) developed what he has learned in the past and not only that, it didnt portray him as having a gold finger just because of his knowledge in his past life, he actually learned a lot... more>> more in his new life influencing every loved ones around him. I am very satisfied with the simple layout of the plot.

So pur MC is Lin Mo, who died of cancer in his past life with a relationship that eventually break down and after that our ML Han Xi, confessed his love after being misunderstood as an enemy (not literally enemy, but annoying person that always spots out poison words to lin mo because he's to shy to show affection) Lin mo's character is very satisfying for me, he didn't drown his new life for new love with the ML and focused on his career as he is still studying.

The ml, oh my gosh, he's just too pitiful and lovable and makes you wanna love him all day long. Our ML is not the cold overbearing type (which actually makes me sick cuz im tired of cold face ml) our ML is really lovable I promise all. Of you that you will love him so much, when he's happy you'll feel happy and when he's sas you will cry. He's a big baby that went thru shits for his love

MY OPINION

So this bl novel is perfectly done for me despite a lil bit rush climax, not gonna complaom but I love everh bits and I never skipped on chapters unlile other bl novels.

It's annoying. This story is for people who just wants to be loved without effort. So many chapters about his father's amputation and family condition that I skip them all. So many filer stories that won't matter in the future. Things that won't affect the characters or provide development. Unnecessary. After 30 chapter that's when they meet. Reading do many unecessary scenes about characters you won't see in later chapters. The one who said the ex cheated didn't read the story. The MC too is losing feelings as both of... more>> them changed. They're in a different phase of their life with the ex having to settle down for business and family reason. The ex also made the mc's life better that's why even the MC wasn't mad. The MC lose attention on his ex because of focusing on his own business due to wanting to stand equal to the ex. The MC doesn't deserve the ml. The author made the ML too devoted. He loved them because of what? So much he took care of the MC despite the MC not in love with him. Then rebirth, you make him dream of MC dying over and over again with the MC being oblivious and not even yet in love with the ml. Then there is Fake amnesia, seriously author?😑 Author, are you serious????? <<less

It's ok-ish.

To those who said why MC isn't in love with ML despite his (ml's) devotion, he (MC) isn't obligated to.

the MC broke off with his lover after years of being together. The lover, has no backbone and is a cheater. The ml, loved MC for years and when he had the guts to tell his feelings he learned that MC has a terminal illness. ML took care of sick MC but MC later died after promising ML to be with him if he survives. When MC died he went back in time, as for ML, he dreamed of faceless MC and his death over and over again.

Now, this story... more>> is nothing extraordinary, it has the same plot like most where the MC went back in time and develop for the better. However, there were no face slapping or revenge plot on the part of MC, he just behind those things in the past and concentrate on improving their family's life. Though there were no faceslapping some characters where put into their shoes. The ex, well kudos to MC for really putting the ex in the past. No unnecessary drama was shoved towards the guy, he was just treated like a stranger, cause that's what he really is in this life.

As for the romance, ML is the mvp with his shameless pursuit and deep love towards MC. MC was scarred for love but ML made him secure in their relationship. I must say, Han Xun's love towards MC shines throughout this story.

the one thing that struck me is the drama and how apt the title is. The climax made me cry so hard, it was sadness and happiness with relief all rolled into one.

I did not invest much on this, I skipped many unnecessary parts.

But reading their story as a whole in one sitting will make you say, at least for me, "thank god, they did not miss each other in this life. Thank god ML took the first step this time. Thank god they're really together" <<less

For the scum men who's reading this: "If you love someone don't cheat!"

For the person who hide their feelings: "Don't make s*upid moves or decisions that might hurt your love one. Please just save courage and confess!"

Im not a fan of romeo and juliet and honestly I didn't even able to know the whole story of it. And I know cs is an insane idea.

In the beginning so slow, but after that so fast, faster than a running rabbit..

The MC is reborn after dying of lung cancer. In the second life cycle MC and ML (not reborn but has had nightmares of his previous life) get together quite early and even have children later in the years (the last few chs)

The face slapping amd drama are quite limited and not long-winded, and are present only to help in the progress of the plot of allowing the families on both side to find about their love, get angry and then helplessly accept it.
