ーーーIs there any blunt weapon shining in your heart?

I’m Hanna Falsett, an ordinary girl who dreams of becoming an adventurer.

But, because I’m so slow and clumsy, my classmates and even the chairman made fun of me. I was even kicked out of the school.

I found a construction site when I was driven to the point of starvation. I picked up a hammer I found there, and suddenly, my talent bloomed!

Not only useful for blacksmithing and building constructions, but my【Blunt Weapon】skill I got was also useful for fighting. With this skill, I’ll show you that I’m also able to grow splendidly!

Defeating dragons, building shops, saving the countryー

The adventure of me with blunt weapons, using blunt weapons, for blunt weapons, begins!

Actually, I want a sword though…….. but I promise, I won’t say it again!

It's really fun and touching actually? I was very surprised but both the writing and translation are well done and it gets you right in the feels.

Even through the troubles our heroine encounters, the story manages to be refreshing and uplifting as Hanna is upbeat and goal oriented. She is a positive, hard working protagonist who goes from drop-out to OP. She's clumsy and has bad luck but she's driven and she's inspired by the kindness of others to do great things.

TL;DR: Cool! But also surprisingly wholesome.

Mc: I'm OP but I still struggle because coherent power levels are thrown away for the sake of plot.

Most other characters: Hurr durr. Blunt bad. Sharp gud. Why? Because story.

You're gonna put levels and numbers in a story, you better stick by it instead of fluctuating character strengths because plot reasons.

Even the premise doesn't work. Most people are prejudiced against the ones that build their houses and their weapons, to the point of shunning them and even abusing them. But somehow society is unaffected, weapons are still made, houses are... more>> still built, there's no shortage of people working in those sectors. There's not depth to the world and consequently the story.

Most characters are cookies from two different cutters, both dumb and unthinking. It's either an oppressor who does so just because religion, or the oppressed being nice to the MC because blunt weapon people are nice.

And I get that it's a sweet and fluffy story, a girl shunned for something she couldn't control but keeps positive and exels in the thing they're against, but there's so much things iffy about it.

Like the toxic Bully being 'good' now because she's nice to the main character after an event. There's no talk, no contemplation, no anything, it just happens.

Or most other things that can just be solved by telling people what actually happened, or disproving their bull in a logical manner.

Giving it a two because worse things are out there. And the translator made the slog bearable. <<less

It's a shounen novel in the body of a shoujo ai.

The characters are well written and fleshed out. They have emotional and psychological issues, that's why they act weird.

Except the MC... she's a hypocrite and her strength is broken. She's strong against calamity level monsters but she has a hard time fighting C class adventurers and fighting them tires her out more than city destroying monsters.

I love this series. A likable protagonist with unique powers compared to so many other protagonists from similar stories.

The whole 'failure suddenly finds power and becomes the strongest' certainly isn't anything new, but I feel like it was done in an interesting way here.

I'm also a fan of most of the other characters. The carpenters were great, and I enjoyed the part with them. The classmates and headmaster are awful people, but the story gives enough of an explanation for their actions. Though for real, they're awful people.

Honestly, the main... more>> reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the existence of Rozelia. My god do I despise Rozelia.

Spoiler

She was apparently the main culprit of the bullying. Our protagonist saves her life, and suddenly Rozelia's behaviour towards the protagonist just does a full 180, becoming somewhat obsessive. They don't clear up a misunderstanding about the protagonist supposedly stealing credit because then the other people would also want to be protagonist's friends but that's not allowed because Rozelia wants to be her only friend? And that just keeps going. I personally can't stand it.

[collapse]

Ignoring Rozelia for now. I recommend this series. It has a likable protagonist with unique powers, the setup of what could be considered a cliche plot is done well and the characters are generally good as well. <<less

It's fun to read. Just goes to show that you don't have to like every (any!?) characters to still enjoy a tale.

The story is sweet but it does have some glaring errors. For one, a lot of the side characters (in my opinion) are pretty despicable and one dimensional. Their entire purpose feels like they are there to be hated, not to add any true depth to the story. For example, the side characters feel more like they're there to push the narrative that: 'People oppress those who use Blunt Weapons' rather than characters who are opposed to Blunt Weapons due to the religious connotations of using one.

Nonetheless, it is a... more>> fluffy story and the main character is optimism incarnate. There is some serious shine in here, and it's an incredibly easy read. Props to the translator. <<less

A fun read if you ignore the annoying characters, especially Rozelia. The conflict with her was somewhat buried but the protagonist didn't forget about it. She still doesn't want anything to do with her.

I also think that the blunt tools discrimination is a bit odd. If it was just blunt weapon discrimination then fine but blunt tools? Who wants to be a carpenter or a blacksmith, both use a hammer, so who wants to be one? The two occupation became a dumping ground for the talentless. Sure, fine with me... more>> but it makes me question on how the world works properly. <<less

The story utself is quite entertaining, even if the MC seems op, she still has room to grow.

For some reason the story reminds me of 'do you think you can defeat the demon lord?" Except less gore.

I just think its odd that the world hates hammers and other blunt weapons, and still use products made by them. It makes the fantacy setting feel a little unrealistic.

Still its a fun read, im a little sad its on hiatus.

Well, this novel is well suited for those who do not like to strain their brains, purely to pass the time.
I started reading back in that year, when I reached chapter 40, I abandoned it. This year, I got it again in the recommendations, decided to read it again, tried to go to the site, but to no avail. All that writes to me: "I can't establish a connection to the site."and in addition, " Check if there are any typos in the hostname translations. Craneanime. Com. " The... more>> VPN also doesn't work. Maybe it's because I live in Russia, or maybe it's really about the site.
P.S if someone had a similar problem, could you tell us how you coped with it.
PS there are only 40 chapters in Russian, and the translation seems to have been abandoned, somehow it's a shame. <<less

The author has an impressive talent to make almost every single character extremely annoying.
Spoiler

Since the story seems to focus on the MC struggling with prejudice and such,

[collapse]
that will probably improve as chapters goes on with the MC getting her own "support" group and achieving her goals (I hope).

That has been my biggest problem with this novel so far, kinda hard to enjoy it when I finish every chapter feeling annoyed. I guess it's fine otherwise.
