I don't write negative reviews often because I often think even if a particular story is bad, there could still be redeeming qualities in it that readers outside of myself would like. However, after reading this whole story from start to finish I felt that I had to write a review to discourage others from wasting their time on this incredibly shabbily written work.

Tbh, the premise was really interesting. A lone zombie slowly regains her humanity but is unable to remember anything about her former human life. For some strange... more>> reason she starts getting these prophetic visions and in one of them she sees this handsome dude getting injected with the zombie virus and decides that she must save this dude. I was onboard up until here even if it was a little nonsensical cause who doesn't enjoy a fated doomsday romance? But the actual execution of the story? YIKES.

Firstly, there are plot holes, the size of Saturn, galore. The author never really explains why the FL miraculously recovers her humanity or why she has visions of the ML. It is said that she worked with him back in the day but it's not like she liked liked him. She was only a little jealous of him because she was antisocial and he was well-liked in the lab. Even afterwards the pair aren't like super close. Seriously, I wouldn't classify this story as a romance or a comedy because nothing really romantic or comedic happens in this story. The closest thing we got to "romance" was the ML recounting his life before the zombie apocalypse with his girlfriend whom

he later had to brutally kill in self-defence because she became a zombie and tried to bite him

Furthermore, the transitions are jerky af and the story ends on a confusing cliffhanger that is neither happy or bad. Just unsatisfactory.

Overall, this was such a sloppy read. I felt like the author just gave up half way because the story really unravels after the initial set up. If you want to read an actual romantic apocalypse novel go read Let the Villain Go, for angst with a HE, and Salted Fish Transmigrated into an Apocalyptic Novel or A Fake Holy Mother in the Apocalypse, for actual comedy. <<less

(Honestly don't have to read all these s*upid paragraphs I wrote, just read the last two, they're good enough at explaining why I won't read this and gave it such a score.)

Okay I'm probably quick to judge and it's just how I feel but these first few chapters are a bit confusing- like I understand what's happening, but it makes me confused at the same time if you get what I mean.

We start off with MC awakening her consciousness, all well and good you know? Her acting strange... more>> and attracting the attention of the Zombie King was an interesting situation, it's different and unique. I think the next part that confuses me is that it just changes to the ML and his friend, there was no warning not even the slightest indication- I suddenly made me feel like I wasn't even reading the same story because of how abrupt it was.

I don't know if this is going to be considered spoilers or not but I'm just going to go ahead and say it without spoiler warning. (I guess this can be considered a spoiler warning, Lol). When ML and his friend arrive at the hospital they make a plan, got it- all well and good until ML enters the hospital with all the zombies gone because his friend led them away and yet- you would think he would be more cautious and actually notice MC that is standing there watching him.

Also, what the heck is up with these prophetic dreams, could we maybe been given any idea what the dreams entail? Nope, apparently not. She just says she has this dream that is real and that she has to go to this place to prevent something from happening- like WHY? I don't understand. Maybe it's mentioned and I just skipped over it but it's weird, she just has these dreams and determines that she needs to go find these people.

Okay also I would like to mention that in the previous chapter (4 from where I'm reading) they're running away (they're as in meaning MC and ML), they even stop at times and communicate- BUT, the ML only realizes it's her when they get into the hideout, light a candle and he sees her expressionless face? (I might have missed something about it being nighttime. I can't be bothered to go back and check, but it might have said that it was dark, still like, what?)

It's mentioned by ML that MC was a professor or well someone he previously worked with when the apocalypse didn't exist and that she was a genius or whatever? Well sorry to burst your bubble but I feel like she really isn't smart in the slightest, especially with these dreams she has that strangely influence her actions. The whole reason I didn't continue this novel and stopped at Ch 5 is because... she follows them to the island, wtf do you want me to say? It's dumb.

Okay, hear me out I will try and make this short unlike everything else and give a better summary. MC awakens her consciousness, has the 'OMG I'm a zombie' reaction, she has no memories and just instinctively doesn't like to eat brains. Okay sure I can get behind that, all good. Next, she has a dream that is prophetic apparently and goes to save ML, she gets there tries to save him, realizes she's weak and relies on the Zombie King to save her, runs away with ML after realizing that they're supposedly in a relationship because of some necklace? Communicates with him that she won't eat him and takes him too her hideout, there he's like- 'GASP your that genius I used to know from such and such'. She passes out (sleeps) and he runs away to meet up with his friend and tells his friend he knows her and that she was a genius. His friend is surprised, and they go back to the ship to return to the base. (Also, I didn't mention here because I forgot but- ML actually had thoughts of experimenting on her? Like WTF doesn't sound like they used to be in a relationship to me. He also gives no indication that they are in any sort of relationship- it's like all MC's fantasy and beliefs. Anway back to the summary.) MC wakes up and realizes that the ML is not there, she had another prophetic dream whilst she slept that said something along the lines of the ML being in danger and that she has to save him, EVEN THOUGH SHE COULDNT SAVE HIM FROM ZOMBIES AND HAD TO RELY ON SOMEONE ELSE?! (Sorry, quite annoyed.) The final point that stopped me from reading this was that she got a damn canoe and started rowing her way in the direction of the base, knowing full well that she is a zombie and is going to cause trouble because of this.

Honestly, this novel has or had potential seeing as it's completed, I couldn't and can't force myself to read this. The MC is not a genius in any way and gives me major awkwardness and confusion, she makes dumb decisions and acts like everything is going to be okay. I don't find it funny just boring and kind of ridiculous. I can't really stop people from reading this if they're interested, just know that most of you will probably be disappointed like I was and stunned at the MC's dumb decisions. <<less

The idea of this novel isn't bad.

MC is a scientist who always do research and experiments. MC created the virus but didn't plan to use it against humanity. Mishap happened, the virus was taken away and used to destroy the world. But to think that this was all part of the plan by MC's adopted father and a researcher.

The disappointment in MC is that she is supposed to be a genius but even though she is a genius, she didn't looked like a genius at all. For example, about the... more>> spy sent by the crazy researcher, she knew that he is a spy and will report it to the boss but still recklessly say aloud the progress of the vaccine. Wth. And another one is she knew there was something wrong with her adopted father yet she still go along with him. She isn't even vigilant in the slightest.

About the adopted father of MC and the crazy researcher, I don't understand the mentality of those two since I'm a normal person. The one think it was to reform the world, and the other one think it was fun. They played the life of others to death but they themselves are afraid to die.

I like the way there wasn't any extraordinary things like powers. They fought zombies through skills and technology like guns, bombs, etc. But MC having a prophetic dreams didn't sit well in the novel. It wasn't supposed to be a novel without powers right? But why did MC have it? Her golden finger?

The things that also disappoint me is that the ending ends abruptly. MC wanted to make a vaccine that can make a zombie back to human like her so she didn't want to mass produce the vaccine she created because it can only kill zombie. MC thought about something suddenly and make the vaccine into a gas to be spread through and then she plan to spread it in other cities as well, the end.

...

Wth? That's it? What happened to her wanting to make a vaccine that can make a zombie back to human. What did she suddenly thought at that moment? Wheres the romance?

Is this novel really complete?

Anyway, I'm disappointed. Not gonna read it again. <<less
