Late at night in the middle of my part time job at a convenience store, I had an encounter with a robber and was mercilessly stabbed to death.

As I was about to lose my consciousness, I thought about how much I wanted to do this and that when I heard a voice……

『The wish to be summoned has been confirmed. Granting Unique Skill 《Jack of all Trades, Master of None》』

Rude words such as that were said. Jack of All Trades, Master of None? Don’t screw with me!

Such thoughts and wishes were for naught as my consciousness faded, when I came too I was standing on a green foggy hill.

This story can be described by simple words: continuous date in another world. Being more descriptive. MC is transfered to another world, meets beautiful elf girl and travels with her through the world. And that's it. There is no goal or great evil adversary. Well... around chapter 280 some goal appeares: finding a facility that summons people from Japan.

As this is a story for young boys we read from time to time about fights with powerfull monsters. But generally there are descriptions of sightseeing of cities or environment, finding inns,... more>> shopping and tasting food. With time I started to skip food descriptions.

Good in this story is grown up relationship with main characters. It is my first isekai where interactions and s*x between man and woman is just normal. And it is R12 story.

"Jack of all trades" is very naive and simple but quite good and logically written almost without gaps. Despite being rather slices of life I find it quite interresting. We have changing adventures, new locations, fights, growing strenght, and attribute statistics. Author is able to add reliable jokes which make this story even lighter to read.

About overpowered MC. What makes him overpowered is not his main skill but extraordinary agility. And this attribute was later even more boosted by monsters. "Jack of all trades" skill helps a lot but being extremly powerful is rather a supporting skill. Author did a good job by not making Asagi too strong. His overpowering means that he is strong comparing to present level. For example being G (or was it F??) ranker he had agility of C ranked adventurer.

If you do not bother slow peace and a lot of slices of life you will like this story. <<less

I know it's really early to write a review and give it a score at all. But stay with me please. Early review: Intriguing start to a story with a lot of promise. Pick it up if you like isekai and want something different.

The story has a lot of promise, the world building is well paces and intermixed with the character so there hasn't been a spot where the reader gets a lecture (no matter how interesting they are.) My only observation or grip is like one or two other... more>> people have said already. It's a very Japanese interpretation of a partial phrase "Jack of all trades." The same version that is main stream but is none the less incorrect.

Further more magic in the world is as of chapter 3 tied to his skill. Meaning only 'masters' of their craft can work magic a very moot point. Well, whatever the story is good enough that this interpretation even if grating can make an fun adventure.

Luckily when you read a couple chapters more it explains how and why about magic. Really well thought out honestly.

For those who don't know the entire quote "A jack of all trades is a master of one, but oftentimes better than a master of one." old ass phrase by the by the wiki entry is incomplete on this as per usual. Funny considering they have the origination of the quote mostly correct. <<less

Could someone post a spoiler about whether or not the MC found a way to extend his lifespan? (Down below I´ll be b*tching around over why I had to ask. Dont hold back. I can take disappointment, if Need be.)

Well, I really hate those stories of someone falling in love with a long-lived elf, only to die as an old man, depending on her, as she wipes your ass, cause you lose Control of yourself.

I then feel for those women, who have to take care of their lover, as... more>> if he was her grandfather. Don´t let me even start about Dementia... Aging sucks.

I`m bothered About the female lead being unfazed by time as well. Call it jealousy or whatever, but it doesnt sit right with me to have a love interest, who looks like in her teens, when her spouse dies of old age.

Its like, whatever one achieves, she will always one-up him, when it comes to the end game.

THEY SHALL JUST LIVE AND DIE TOGETHER HAPPILY, BE IT A HUNDRED YEARS; OR A THOUSAND!!!

All in all I`m very unsatisfied with the idea of long lived races in fantasy, since they make humans look like second class, regarding longevity, beauty and overall abilty.

Im so frustrated with this concept, its driving me mad. Even when the MCs death isnt depicted in the novel, temporary happiness, limited to a set amount of time makes me furious. If both were to age and die one after another, ok, thats the way of things, but to an elf its like a 5 year long love affair. One of many events one may live to see the day.

What makes it Special in the bigger Picture?! What makes this time stand out. Furthermore she can fall in love again and Forget About the ML... On the other han, there is the Scenario of a powerful tragic Beauty left behind, who cant fall in love again for all eternity, as she Longs for her late Lover. *blegh* Dont give me either. If its a slice of life, a timely end is a must-have. Death is the proof of life, and life is the proof of death in my book. I dont mind if both were to live forever thoug...

In other News, the bullsh*t About Living their short lives to the fullest in comparison to an elf makes no sense. Those guys are fr*cking overpowered, if they are to pick up the adventuring livestyle, while proceeding carefully, they can stand on top of the world with freedom, Health and a Long happy live.

I know its not really my relationship, but I cant help but push my ideals onto the novels I read... <<less

It makes me think that "Huh... this is probably what being Isekaid is like realistically"... well maybe.

The translator is as always doing good, so the phrasing of sentences is great.

There are a lot of characters that the MC encounters but.. isn't that one of the charms of this novel. Meeting new people and exploring different places.

Well. there are a bit of of what I might describe as "fillers"?

It's a good novel.

Like the protagonist in the story, this novel is a master of nothing. It has action, fantasy elements, and, at some points, tries to inject some drama to the characters, but the stakes in these supposed life and death situations are hardly felt.

For the characters, they seem fine. There is not much to hate about them, but there is nothing that really sets them apart from characters in other stories.

The same could also be said about the plot. While to be fair, I am still not too deep into the... more>> story, but this is not exactly a page turner.

In spite of not being special, I would not steer someone away from this novel. It feels lighthearted, and sometimes people just want a nice story to relax to. If that is your cup of tea, or what you need at the moment, there are much worse stories to read than this. <<less

for this novel, personally I rate it 2 stars.

As for the reason: the story is in a good pace and the MC character unique abilities "Jack of All trades, Master of None".

As for the rest of this novel which is a problem: Is that the author goes by the "romance" genre, which perhaps kinda irritates some readers including myself. In one of many reason, that the heroine (elf) was chosen as the leading heroine on early chapters. Her background story were only as short mentioned when she was privately talking... more>> to MC. However, the thing is that when the author were constructing the novel, he/she decided for the story settings that only one heroine will be used and she will guard the MC from other females. It just not feel right on this story, since the reality that going to adventures and meeting with other candidates/potential partners were instantly rejected before knowing them is wrong.

Secondly, Solving any problematic or dangerous situation in very fast pace that seems the element of being OP in "Quickness" were affecting the story. In addition, the author were focusing on too much on Ice magic attack which makes the battle repetitive and plain. <<less

The novel is quite good, but I don't really like how the MC is always afraid of killing even when it's absolutely necessary...

Also, this novel REALLY gives me anxiety, I mean, I always have the impression that something is gonna happen to the mc's girl, even though nothing bad happens, the smell of ntr and tragedy is around all the time, as if it was just waiting to assault us with it...

Well, this is different. If you expect an OP protagonist with fast paced action and a complete harem, then turn back and search somewhere else.

The protagonist, altought having some OP elements, is not overly broken. He does not gather a plethora of womens around him, like most isekai novels, and that's refreshing. Also, he's not dense as f*** like many protagonists. If you expect the usual tropes, they are not here. No harem, no titanium density protagonist, no OPness. Just a normal guy, a normal love and a relaxing pace... more>> in an isekai. <<less

This is a slow-paced fluff story with nothing major happening. It's not a bad story for killing time, but it suffers from yet another s*upid MC who is a giant p**sy. This is the second worst mentally weak MC after the one in "This person, later on" novel.

The romance here is ok, they hook up pretty quick and go full rabbits on each other within like two weeks or maybe slightly more after they first meet. At least in this regard, the novel is better compared to others. The only... more>> big drawback in this novel for me is MC. There is also a lot of stuff that is boring and I wanna just skip it. When it combines with an idiotic MC, it gets 3 stars. <<less

This story is rather aimless and since there is no real arc I can't find anything to look forward to in the story. I also can't really care about the protagonist or his interactions with others or his erofu wife. I never feel like they are in danger or in conflict and nothing seems to be happening at all here.

Easy to read slice of life style with a little action. More realistic fantasy. Not world class literature but an enjoyable story.

Slow life with gritty/grimmer details. Earlier reviews cover it.

Easy slide from equal partners to romance has a tea candle pace burn. We can see the direction for the MC’s to OPness, question is how long he will drag it out with his learn before he leaps philosophy.

it was a nice story but it ended without concluding maybe we will get a sequel, it is not perfect but it had its moments but I still think the ending is a bit rushed and it could have more good if the world is explored more and the FMC's past too. and the story ended without concluding anything like ending a volume or something, everything is left unfinished but I think it is ok... it could have been better that's why only 4 stars.

Well written, but I finally stopped at chapter 270. The MC, Asagi, is a bit too passive; not quite the typical Japanese dense protagonist, but having some of those traits. He is not quite dense enough to ignore female interest, and he gets into a stable relationship; but he always seems like more like a hapless character in a situation comedy then a hero with his own motivations. He generally takes second place in his relationship, and I didn't care too much for his lover Daniela -- she seems more... more>> likely to use the MC as the bu*t of her jokes than have fun with him. <<less

There's nothing distinctly wrong about this, but I just don't like it. The FL is alright but she has this slight annoying nature (very slight, it just bothers me). The MC is just plain and boring (not necessarily in a bad way but he's not particularly interesting). There's a lot of minor discrepancies and while there aren't many clichés the plot is still quite forced. The character's actions are a bit forced as well (not exactly "out-of-character" but just not what things people would do or say). The strengths of... more>> everyone don't make any sense. Some things that happen also don't have any reason to be in the story. I know it's realistic that pointless things happen, but this a story. Everything that happens must serve a purpose besides just happening.

In conclusion, some people may like this, I don't and I don't think I'll ever come to like any of these isekai fantasy adventurer romance novels. <<less

The novel is quite good a mix between slice of life and action. I recommend this novel to anyone who likes a novel that is a bit slow spaced and not so fast forword.

World Building is decent. The 2 MC's characters are good in some terms a bit annoying but that is fine.

Read the book ya weebs

I don't have much to say that others who game the novel a good score haven't already said. This novel is a nice change of pace in the over saturated "isekai" genre. To often I'll read novel in the genre that seems interesting and engaging for the first 40-50 chapters, only to quickly devolve into the same boring tr*sh I've read a dozen times. Cliches such as a harem of one dimensional characters that only exists to make sure all the kinks are covered. Or the... more>> power scale of conflicts reaching comical levels of absurdity. A common problem in manga, anime, light novels and such that have battles serving as a major theme is that the scale escalates to quickly and often exponentially (Example: Dragon Ball Z). That results in an author writing themselves into a corner. There isn't any tension when your MC has the powers of a god fighting mortals.

This novel manages to avoid these issues by taking a slower pace and taking the time to really flesh out the kind of people the two protagonists are (Yes I argue that the "couple" share protag rights). The scale of conflicts raises at a reasonable pace and in ways that are more interesting than (bad guy "A" is going to attack the town, to bad guy "B" is now going to destroy the country)

All that said, the novel is by no means perfect but it is still a darn good read if you want something a little more grounded than your usual isekai power fantasy tr*sh. <<less

I would say that this story is very decent. It doesn't particularly do anything wrong and keeps you interested with fleshed out characters, fighting, skills, romance, etc. I would say it is above average in terms of the isekai genre.

My only gripe with this story is that the romance comes on a bit too early and a bit too strong in my opinion, tries to justify itself poorly, and since it happened already, this novel became more slice-of-life than I would otherwise like. Up to chapter 60s the MC still... more>> hasn't been in the new world for very long (like less than 2-3 months), so I can't understand why the romance happened so quickly. It sullied what could have been an excellent build-up romance between two very likable characters and kept you interested in following the story.

Otherwise, you can't go wrong reading this story. <<less

it's decent. I do find it really annoying how often an entire chapter is dedicated to the taste of a particular meal, usually some type of soup. I doubt I'll finish reading it for that reason. I don't want to constantly wade through descriptions of soup to get to the bulk of the story.
