[From the author of FFF-Class tra*shero:]

There has never been a hero like this before!

Is he a hero or an actual demon?

Kang Hansoo was summoned to this world with his classmates.

His classmates were amazed by this brand new world and the magic in it, but the only thing Hansoo wanted to do was quickly return home.

“Why would I give up my warm, comfortable house to have an adventure in this world…?

Even the goddess that summoned me said that if I wasn’t willing to, there was nothing she could do to force me and promised to return me to my original world.

She did teleport me, but…

When I opened my eyes, I was still in this world!

All of my friends were gone, and the only thing around me was monsters!!

A goddess tricked me…?

How do I get back home now…?

More than that, how do I survive here…?!“

Is this Hero for real is basically an alternate universe version of FFF-class tr*shero with the MC being a hilarious anti-hero. It's literally the same MC with them having the same name, Kang Hansoo, having similar looks, same personality, etc put in a different scenario. Regardless, it's still enjoyable because with thag only thing that was copied.

The story was entertaining to read, despite being MTLed, but then it gradually degrades over time starting with the school arc which was dragged out way too long and then especially so after he... more>> beats the Great Demon King.

It ends up switching POV to several of the classmates far too often in my opinion because all of them except Yoo Bora were terrible people in their own ways and annoying to read. The worst is when it follows a delusional boy who thinks he's the main protagonist and confusing also have the name Hansoo like the MC. The story feels more and more rushed with details becoming skimmer compared to how things were at the start, before the end of the school arc. Despite all the obsession of the MC of family piety, the parents ended up becoming a major plot hole because they're hardly ever shown but it was hinted greatly about them secretly being very strong but then they vanished in thin air when the MC wanted to tried to find them even across time regressions.

The thing that really ruined the story for me is when the story started having time skips and time regressions too many times.
Spoiler

After MC beat the Great Demon King he used his wish to send his whole class back to Earth. This is where the first time-f*ckery happens as Earth's time is reversed to when they were summoned and Fantasia's time was forwarded 100 years. I really hated this as MC just basically forced his classmates away from their life in Fantasia when most of them were married or had kids and even when some of them returned they all ended up leaving their family and loved ones alone for 100 years.

After that the same wish was repeated by another hero supported by MC since the Earth was destroyed by the evil goddess so it's another +100 years on Fantasia. This wasn't so bad when it happened once but was aggravating how the love interests are pushed back to waiting longer.

On the third round MC made his second wish to go back in time by like 700 years for the whole universe. This was when I was hitting myself in the head cause of how downhill things went. MC had erased every good and bad thing that had happened so far just so he could undo his wife's bad history without any other consideration. He didn't even ask the wife or his son while the other major romance candidates were thrown under the rug and most of the plot became pointless when he could've made that wish from the start.

Was that going to be the end of it? No, of course not because MC goes and makes a third wish to quite literally reset the whole universe to when the evil goddess was born to reveal a hidden secret of how he had had his time reset without his memories once at the start of the story and explaining why everything happened. Everything from this point basically read like a what-if side story of when the MC wasn't summoned and you get a random heroine inserted to become his fiancee.

[collapse]

tl;dr The novel was ruined from too much time-f*ckery. If there's any novel that needs the time police, it's this one. <<less

Gave it a read and while I did find it's fairly enjoyable there were some parts that made it a bit hard to read to be honest. The biggest gripe I had with this novel was simply how it was structured, which is that almost every chapter is split into either 2 or 3 parts. So every chapter will be about 50% about the MC and 50% about one or more side character, sometimes there will be a chapter dedicated only to a side character.

There also isn't a clear line... more>> when the character focus switches and instead sometime stuff just happens that doesn't make sense with the previous context only to realize that oh the story must have switched to another character. Maybe it makes more sense in korean I don't know but in english it doesn't work out that great when it just switches from one person to another or from one scenario to another all of a sudden.

Personally while it's not a huge deal it does become annoying and a bit confusing.

When it comes to the rest there isn't really much of a character development but women will just throw themselves at the MC most of the time to which he will most often be to dumb to realize their flirting with him, shoot them down cause he has to get back to his parents first or since he pretty much has ED he can't get anywhere with them. It's at one point explained that back in Korea at least every 10 days someone would confess to the MC who'd always say no for some reason.

On fighting and such the MC is pretty much unbeatable since his main power is that everything about him resets every few seconds at first and then it just happens faster and faster as the story progresses. What is weird however is that "everything" about him resets, muscles, lifeforce/age, his health, limbs, soul, breath, hunger, tiredness and so on. So logically since everything resets his memories should reset as well or at least the braincells where the memories are stored should be reset heck even his movement should be reset when I think about it.

Overall though the story is an easy read about a "fillial" son who was tossed into a fantasy world unwillingly and fights his way to the top even though he's seemingly in an impossible position at first. Though it later turns out the blessing he got instead was the most broken one ever. <<less

I do not think that this novel shares a universe with the ones listed but just has the same concept as the others cus the author wouldmnt name the MC the same name as the one in FFF class tr*sh hero for obvious reasons, anyway I feel like the author is trying to get some proper character development done this time and not just jumping to a fully formed MC from the start and the dynamic of his classmates also seems good with the side characters not all being straight... more>> evil while actting cute as they were in FFFCTH, FYI I have just read the english TLed manwha and novel yet not the korean one <<less

Not as good as tr*sh hero, but still enjoyable. I guess author was trying some new things with the frequent perspective changes, but none of the side characters get much development except what's his name and maybe class prez.

Eventually it all becomes meaningless anyways with timey wimey bs.
