When Jiang Huaian went on a blind date with Xia Jiujiu, he said that when he was in high school, he had a good temper, good grades, four bare walls for a home¹, and in dire straits. He was bullied by his classmates, shunned by the goddess, having never felt love and care. Thus, Xia Jiujiu’s compassionate heart burst. She took him to the movies and went to the amus**ent park, doing everything he hadn’t done before when he was a youth, and then…became his wife.

One day, she went back to when she was sixteen. Xia Jiujiu carried a brick and a bag of cash with her as she headed to the City’s No. 1 High School to find Jiang Huaian, determined to give him a good memory of his youth. Overthrow all those who bullied him, and eliminate all the evil forces!

Xia Jiujiu: “Excuse me, is the Jiang Huaian in your class here? The one with good temperament, good grades, four bare walls for a home, and was in dire straits?”

Jiang Huaian, who is carrying a brick to go out and fight, was stunned: “Who? Who the hell are you talking about?”

Xia Jiujiu: “…”

So Xia Jiujiu found out that what Jiang Huaian needed the most was not money or love, but a set of sample university exam questions. Don’t casually believe others; this was the most profound truth of life taught to Xia Jiujiu by this flirtatious melodramatic little brother Jiang.

Felt kind of cheated by this.

It started off really cute but then in the middle it got really boring. The author focused a lot on the other people in the MC’s life in the later parts of the story. This would’ve have been fine I guess if the whole premise wasn’t about going back to “save” her future husband and the other characters and that whole drawing storyline wasn’t dull. I think I’d be less mad that the author spent so long on that boring storyline if the ending was... more>> properly resolved but it wasn’t.
Spoiler

The other characters fell off the face of the earth once the main leads officially hooked up so we have no idea what happened to them. Then again, we don’t know what happened to anyone fr because the author introduced this really trippy theory for why she travelled back in the past. I didn’t really get it but I think what she was trying to say was that this hs life that the MC’s living now is just a dream. However, the ML actually experienced this dream first which is why he went out to find her and marry her in the real world. At this point the grown up MC hasn’t experienced the dream so she doesn’t know him. It wasn’t they got into that car accident that the MC was sent into the dream. I think that’s what happens but the timelines/dreams were really confusing to follow esp cause I read the mtl. The car accident was caused by the adopted uncle which was hinted at; however, I think he may be the ML’s half bro’s real dad? That was random af.

[collapse]

TDLR: starts off good but becomes mediocre half way. The ending is especially unsatisfactory. <<less

I'm writing this review because there is just a problem with the head of the MC.

First of all, the first part of the story can be said to be cute and full of youth energy, the one you will always find in many coming of age genre. But at the middle to the last part of the novel, it's not very entertaining anymore. There are many things that happen, and the MC. There is absolutely nothing wrong in helping, she say its her principle thats why she helps. Her first... more>> decision was to help the ML after rebirth, now that after helping the ml, she became the oh so good and kind person who helps others. And her mindest is infuriating, I just can't.

The ML is actually okay, he is very rational at the same time naive, at this time he is still young, he didn't suffer any setbacks except for his family. His thinking is very good. And what he says to the MC everytime makes sense.

The description of the novel is really decieving, except for the part of the bricks and asking about do you know who is Jiang Hui'an, it is not the same.

overall, don't expect too much for this novel, MC is annoying, as a person who already saw the society, she is still naive. Don't think about the consequence, still like a child. <<less

It's really, really good.

It's interesting, there's not a lot of unnecessary drama, and the plot was tied up very well.

It had some pretty deep topics there too.

The funny summary and the comedy genre tag brought me here but it was an unexpected surprise to find that this was a deep and more of a serious drama novel (still its still funny).

My take for its cons would be that there is so much going on that sometimes it gets confusing. Very slow-paced that its like a slice of life novel. Too much details to things that are not important.

Love the ML. We read novels where the MLs have bad/poor past but mostly their sufferings are skipped over.... more>> On here, we are experiencing with the MC the efforts made and the process in achieving their mighty ML future. We have here a pitiful but lovable ML❤

Dunno the hate about the MC. Yes, she's very naive but that's how she was brought up by her family in her last life. I find her personality a breath of fresh air compared to those know-it-all MCs. <<less

The concept is really great but in my opinion, was not executed the best. There are times when it feels rushed/abrupt and then the rest may feel slow. The MC was said to have married the ML in the 'previous' life but the way she interacts with him doesn't even seem that way even her inner monologues a lot of times.

don't get me wrong it's a really cute story only that it has more potential and is a bit messed up. Often, I feel like the story is all over... more>> the place... like too much is going on simultaneously. I do like the ML, he has soul to him, can be hurt can hope can get lost, craves attention... wants to be loved. He just seems so human. A s for the MC imnot too much of great fan, but it works if.

overall its not bad, truly. In fact it may be just a more realistic version for an MC who was spoiled her whole life and didn't have to work to get anything. I blame her parents for not motivating her... the adults in the novel are all headache inducing tbh.

one thing for sure tho...The description is a bit deceiving as the novel isn't so shallow. <<less

I feel so disappointed after reading around 72 chapters, I really liked the novel since the start, the MC is pretty naive and dumb as she was raised like that in her entire life so I can understand how she reacted with other characters, but there are sometimes where I felt like she was unrealistic cause let's be real how many people are still naive in even middle 20s. She was around 25/26 since she got married but after being reborn she still acted like a little kid which is... more>> not justified. Anyway I am going to ignore this one. The main reason why I stopped reading is the drawing/contract arc. The only person I feel for is Gu lan, my blood was boiling while reading those chapters, I felt like entering in the novel and beat that song zhe, seriously he was described as a smart guy who can do so well in exams but have no brains/a petty person, I didn't get his character at all.. at first he was kinda good since he cleared some comments about ML to FL, so I thought he was a good guy but the way he handled wei Yan was so dumb. Anyway I don't even want to waste my time and words with this insignificant idiot. Now I was so disappointed with wei Yan (I think it's her name, I might be wrong) I get that she was being raised by the song family and felt indebted to them but she should have cleared her situation with that idiot so that gu lan didn't had to be so miserable. She didn't even reacted after this incidence, I was surprised how they took the incident so lightly like nobody acted differently after that, if I was in this situation I would have never talked to those betrayed me ever, but since this is a novel anything can happen, they can quarrel also make up after... I liked the ml, he was a normal character from the start but the moment he broke his promise no matter what I can't side with him. This would have been perfect novel if the MC stick to her plan to be a better student and help ML to become his past self but no she wanted to be a holy lady and help everyone around the older ml.. but I still don't understand why the author made her involve with gu lan, she was already successful in her career, so no matter what she would have achieved that even if she was struggling, this seemed unrealistic to me, anyway I wasted my time to read this since I don't want to read anymore, I really hope Gu lan never talked to anyone of the circle after this but I know this will never happen since this is a novel everyone will be friends forever and this is the reason why I don't want to finish reading
