This MC is the possible worst you can think of

He's a ball of selfishness, he don't want to even try to think about other people (even his girlfriend), he make his girlfriend the way he likes without thinking about her feeling & he said it all in front of her face

This novel is too much of a wish fulfillment i've ever seen, this is the impossible thing to ever come in real life

Harem full of beauty? That's not impossible, but this? Super model/idol left & right liking this MC with... more>> worst personality without trying to change himself better for his loved one & no one bullied him for his arrogance? IMPOSSIBLE

"Actually you are the only son of the boss of big company" even though till now you life miserable? IT'S POSSIBLE though that is 1:10000000000 on posibility but still POSSIBLE! I TELL YOU TWICE!! Hell nah I even thought you got Isekai'ed is much posibility than this novel come to life <<less

Look I think everyone who's read a harem novel knows how these usually end when there's a main girl in a non fantasy setting I don't even need to tell you who's he's going to pick as it's obvious from chapter 1 so if you can handle heartbreak you can read this but if you can't well tough luck. For what it's worth these two make a cute couple and the romance is handled well its not exactly something record breaking but if you have free time it's a good... more>> way to pass the time. <<less

It is indeed a fluffy romance. Not sugar-sweet type, but fluffy. I also agree with the other reviewer that the protagonist's loner personality is constructed nicely in this novel: he is self-aware of himself and of the surrounding environment. At first, I did not like the protagonist's attitude but throughout the novel, I came to acknowledge the authenticity of the protagonist's personality in this setting. However, I do have many points that I don't like about the protagonist, or this novel, in general.

Objectively speaking, the fact that this novel is... more>> full of tropes is not a weakness in itself. Tropes are not the reason for my 3*. It is the forced interaction and lack of justification that annoy me the most. We have the MC as the "loner type" and he is somehow confessed by the most beautiful girl in class, and is then further surrounded by other good-looking female characters. Basically, the MC has beautiful girls unconditionally throwing themselves at him and being a chad he casually brushes them off like "nah I am a loner I only want to enjoy my freedom blah blah don't waste my time".

The MC keeps going on and on about "I'm a loner" and "they are normies" and how each is expected to behave certain ways. This premise becomes the novel's theme: the other girls get to learn to be like a "loner" since being a "loner" means 1) becoming MC's ideal girl or 2) following their own dreams without subjecting oneself to norms. The author/MC is OBSESSED with this class hierarchy (maybe this is a serious/big deal in Japanese classroom) to the point that the MC treats this loner personality as an ideology that should be worshipped and complied. Or else... (no idea what the consequence is - I mean, what is the worst thing that could happen if the MC behaves like a "normie"?).

Because the author sets up this loner mindset as an ideology, and by not providing a justification for it (MC's raison d'être), it makes the romance weak and shallow. The reason for the MC to behave this way is non-existent, unless you consider loner just happens to be his preferred way of life. The reason for the fMC to fall in love and aim to become a loner is weak and lackluster. I feel bad for her being influenced by the "loner" ideology and have to forcefully change herself to fit the MC's ideal type. I personally feel that this is cruel for the fMC. The novel dances around between the two grounds of "be yourself and do whatever you want" and "find the common ground between loner and normie", somehow making its narrative inconsistent.

The novel successfully concludes the relationships within three volumes but I feel suffocating reading it in the middle of volume 2. I found it funny that the translator (bless them!) felt the same and was compelled enough to say so. I like the character developments of Aramiya and Chisaka. However, for the most parts, the lengthy MC's internal monologues may leave brain damages as he tries to be philosophically deep and throw in some random psychological theories. The side characters and even the fMC carry this novel so hard in the end. To be fair, the MC shows observable growth at the end, it feels as if the author rushes volume 3 for the conclusion and the change seems to appear instantaneously.

Still, if you want a quick and short fluffy romance and can turn your brain off, this may be a good read for a weekend. <<less

This is the right way to write a gloomy, loner protagonist. He has many flaws and he fits the archetype well at first glance. However, his self-awareness of his own emotions and motivations really showcases his maturity which results in a very interesting internal dialogue.

His intelligence is also clearly exemplified in almost every interaction he has with these girls (aside from when he's being flirted at hardcore and his brain turns to puddy). Although that may just be because of the girls' severe case of smooth brain. Their personalities are... more>> ridiculous but the tone of the novel makes it work.

Can't wait for more. <<less

A nice, simple fluffy novel with typical loner MC with popular FMC. Their interactions are very well done, the MC stays true to his loner nature and makes certain decisions which gives him some substance and character. FMC is quirky and tries to manipulate the MC into doing what she wants to do with him as a couple while MC is also trying to manipulate her into staying away from him, which gives this story a very light and interesting conflict. I'd love it if the story only focuses on... more>> these two opposite characters' interactions but unfortunately the author had to bring in the second heroine. <<less
