There are a ton of small technical problems that make reading this novel difficult.

Most have already been mentioned by other reviewers like the overuse of the word "Well" to begin sentences, overuse of the MCs full name, the simplicity of the writing (it's like it was written by a child/teen rather than an adult), the abundant cliches (such as academy cliche, tournament cliche, cliched harem, MC is a nerdy otaku but turns out is actually really handsome and cool, etc.), the level of non-ironic/non-parody chuunibyou (god it's freaking cringeworthy),... more>> the fact that shoehorning the naruto chakra system (with a sh*t ton of upgrades, AI assistant, and magical shop -_-) into a random 'chinese otaku everyman' in a world transfer chinese novel is already somewhat sod-breaking and cringeworthy, etc.

None of these were actually deal breakers for me but when you add them together it goes from the level of 'eh, that's annoying but I can just ignore it' it would be with just one or two of those issues to the level of 'oh, that's annoying but I can just igno.... oh another annoyance well I can just igno.... oh another one again.... *repeat a few times*.... yeah, think I'm done here'

The biggest thing that actually annoyed me, which I'm probably blowing way out of proportion, is how inaccurate the author was with what the naruto 'chakra power' is and how it works. The best example is how when the MC first gets access to his 'naruto system' and starts 'cultivating chakra' (see excerpt below)

Spoiler

First was gathering the chakra, after all chakra is basic foundation of all ninjutsu, genjutsu and taijutsu and without chakra they cannot be used.

He opened the Ninjutsu System and looked for the chakra gathering method. Chakra is energy gathered from the cells of human being. He carefully look at the method of gathering chakra inside the Ninjutsu System. After that he sat on the ground and began to cultivate for the first time in this alien world

Chakra is a kind of energy produced from a perfect fusion of natural energy essence and bodily energy and is used as the starting point for ninjutsu, genjutsu and taijutsu.

[collapse]

There's no such thing as a 'chakra gathering method' and chakra is sure as hell not the fusion of natural energy and bodily energy. It's the fusion of two types of bodily energies 'yin' (spiritual) and 'yang' (physical) the base level and improvement rate of which are set genetically and are then raised by improving the mind and body (most commonly through training although some other ways exist such as being supplemented by biju chakra, constantly being drained by something such as samehada, etc)

The fusion of natural energy and bodily energy is known as senjutsu and is dangerous as hell considering the slightest mistake in balancing the energies immediately turns you into a statue. Further, senjutsu is a temporary boost to, and replacement of, bodily chakra which increases the potency of the user's chakra abilities and extends the amount of chakra the user has access to while it's being drawn in. It's an active ability with completely temporary effects, not some permanent upgrade system.

It would have been fine if the differences were pointed out in the novel such as his helper ai system thing explaining that the naruto system the MC has had to be changed in certain ways to work in a cultivation world but instead these differences are described as if that's the way chakra actually works in the naruto universe. It's a pedantic and nitpicky thing but it just bugs the hell out of me. <<less

The premise is hilariously funny but the story is a disappointment from the get-go. like.... the cliche's in it.... are cliche......... his reason for liking Naruto is: "liked a single anime series ‘Naruto’ with no reason at all."

Yep, no reason. Absolutely no reason at all! Also it felt like the first chapter was packed with tons of unneeded information.

Flipping hell!

Still can't believe I read through this garbage just for the heck of it. And the ending is literal garbage. Like seriously.

It's basically the Gamer fused with the Naruto system but it's different because it's without those stats.
Author wasted tons of chapters just to explain unneeded crap from the narutoverse...

... more>> The author could have continued with the "story" (fanfiction) if he had let the MC gain all the other eyes but he chose not to and ended it s*upidly.

Call me skeptical but seriously though.

The god damn horrible "I your father/grandfather/sister and the f*ck all speech is cringy as hell. Who in the 21st century still uses that kind of speech in the first place?

Not gonna be that guy.. But I have to.
(This is for the translator if he is still checking here for reviews.)

To the one who translator this crap. Hope that you are happy with the money that you earned from translating this crap.
You didn't even bother to grammatically correct a huge number of the chapters and it was horrible. The sentences was so horrible to even read. My brain cells continuously died as I read through this crap. Was there ever an editor for this? It just seems that you took the money and just machine translated it for the sake of money.

Seriously anyone can simply machine translate it and not edit it at all.

Spoiler

Seriously... 3000 realms? Universes? What kind of plot was the author even thinking of? 3000 items just to travel back to "Earth" and that's that. And the Demon Queen ended up being someone who reincarnated into a Demon and was someone from the same world as the MC. Which the "system" didn't bother to tell him and kept quiet about it and act like it's not it's problem.

It's obvious that the author didn't even properly though of the system having it's own mind at all.

He has a lot of love interest but only ever imp**gnated one woman and it was the previous owner of that body's childhood love interest. It was hinted that She was pregnant but it just seems that the author totally ignore the whole your woman is pregnant sh*t and continued with the fighting and invasion.

I put this one down. A lot of posters have problems with how easy it is for the MC to learn jutsu and so on. I didn't have that problem as much. It's normal in reincarnation stories where the MC has a power outside of the normal powers in their new world (like in Bringing the Farm to Live in a New World). Even Terror Infinity, a novel I personally rate highly, makes it super easy to cultivate Qi and other techniques. My issue is that the author directly contradicts himself about the power the MC has.
Spoiler

For example, the MC supposedly has fire, wind, and lightning chakra but then uses earth style techniques, some of which were bloodline specific Justus or related to the tailed beasts

[collapse]

Beyond that, the writing is boring, the fights are unimaginative, the progression is predictable, the character lacks depth, the author introduces random new goals as if they had already been fully explained, and numerous other errors. As a light novel reader I have a certain tolerance I've built up to crappy writing, but this is one time I just couldn't move past it.

Honestly, I would have never done a review without seeing @UncleOddball's. Love his review. (͡°╭͜ʖ╮͡°) Anyways, the premise is simple. You can just guess it from the title. I can't really say much after reading just 3 chapters. The author just throws in bunch of generic background info you find in common xianxia- Reincarnated into a cultivation loser and family banishes the poor loser (sarcasm). But I liked it. Why? I'm currently bored outta of my mind (._.) (l:) (.-.) (:l) (._.) I... more>> recommended this novel if you ('re)
-Bored
-Like Naruto (their moves, etc)
-Don't care alot about character depth
-Like hearing the MC talking about himself in Third POV (Guessing from the repeated 'I, your father' phrase in the chapters between 1-3) <<less

If you're looking for a good quick read, then this is pretty much up to standard.

The first half of the novel is really good, but the second half is basically a s**t storm.

Why?

... more>> Because it's full of holes, A LOT of questions are never answered and the ending was so rushed you're left thinking "what the hell just happened?"

This really had excellent potential, but the author beyond screwed it.

What's that? An enemy destroyed countless lives and killed countless innocent children?

They were just trying to get home, let them off! No need to punish them, happy ending with no consequences. - Author logic because you know, they're a hot woman.

Pros:

- Interesting cultivation and combat

- Good plot (first half)

- Good description on the Naruto system, making it newbie friendly.

- Plot is never dragged out but at the same time, never too short. (Except the end where the author clearly got fed up)

Cons:

- So many plot holes it can act as a perfect sieve. The author will spend chapters introducing a new method or character only for them to be completely forgotten and never mention again. One example of this is some of the romance or promises to people.

- Romance dies after first woman, can't really be called harem. A lot of girls like him, sure. But after his first woman, it's literally for little reason with almost zero development.

- Some battles are incredibly boring. You ever read something where you can tell even the author is bored but wants to drag it out for the big finish? This happens a few times but I just scan read those parts to avoid them.

- Ending is rushed leaving you wondering why you even read it.

- Some enemies left unpunished, the most deserving of punishment got forgiven because the MC is an idiot.

Overall: 6/10

The first half really saved the rating, because the second half would be a solid 3/10. <<less

At first I was a bit skeptical but it turned out really good at first! To the point I felt addicted to this story and reread a lot. Naruto universe crossing over and dealing with typical arrogant Cultivators. That was a sweet feeling. This gave me a lot of high expectations..... but unfortunately they were not met! The story is everywhere man. Romance? What romance? Girls keep switching left from right.
Spoiler

To loli girl to teacher to sexy girl to big breasted tsundere to childhood friend. ect it goes on and on. You can feel the Author indecisiveness. WTF I really liked that girl who slapped him and even almost undressed herself to test him if he was loyal! The Childhood friend accepted things too easily. Well at least its not Polygamy right? But when I saw the other girls who had more character development be jealous of Childhood friend who barely progressed at all. I was kind of hoping for Polygamy.. that's how bad the romance was

[collapse]

MC keeps spilling the beans and what was the purpose of wearing a mask when he gives his identity so easily! Wtf.. Looking back at the Novel... The writing is not that good. There's no logic and characters don't feel real anymore. I feel ashame now for recommending it to people before *covers face* I'm just sad because of many disappointments when it started off really well.
Spoiler

The thing I was looking forward the most from the beginning was Revenge. He never fully got it and failed even after becoming OP and its just gets postpone... Author does a lot of stalling. Even his entrance to invade the party was boring.. Akatsuki did not make a badass entrance and everything was done to easily. I had high hopes in him forming a badass group but after recruiting 2 characters the rest was forced and rushed! That was one of the biggest disappointments of this Novel

The plot and story are nonsense at best, the characterization is truly terrible and there are grammatical errors in almost every sentence of the translation.

And yet, I somehow ended up reading every chapter. This is the best example of junk food in book form.

TL:DR - This is junk food. It tastes good, and is fun to consume but has virtually no substance.

I need to start off by saying that I am no Naruto fanboy. I loved Naurto up until episode 150-ish, then quit until Shippuuden came out, watched until episode 70-ish, quit and finished with the manga. It was fun, but a masterpiece of Anime it is not.

This is an interesting concept; mixing cultivation with other power systems (in this case ninjitsu) ; however in the effort to cater to the Naruto... more>> fanbase it goes overboard in tie-ins and references to the anime. I think if it was more generalized and fleshed out that this could be something special; unfortunately it is not.

Should you read this? I would say yes, it is quite enjoyable.

Should you check this every day? Nope. Binge occasionally, laugh a lot, then put it on a back burner for a month or so. <<less

Iv'e read other stories like this that involved dragon ball and also one piece/bleach before and they were pretty decent.

This one is just tr*sh though.

The MC is pretty op in a short while but when he starts going to school the author decides to make him weaker than he was before just so he would be closer to the level of the people in the school.

The MC is a loser. He will fight any man that comes his way, but when a woman even walks by him he starts getting... more>> cold sweats and the shakes because "Women are so scary" Yeah... okay. I wouldn't mind it if it was a one time thing, but he is constantly scared of women when he is op as sh*t and it makes no sense at all. Do authors add this cliche in their stories because a lot of readers out there get some kind of weird pleasure out of it or something? The funny thing is in the very early chapters he fights a girl and wasn't that lame about it, but after he goes to school he's suddenly a super loser. I saw other people getting upset about this as well on the translators websites comments. So I know I'm not the only one annoyed by this.

This story also suffers from massive info dumps. I skipped a number of chapters after noticing it was an info dump and when I moved to the actual story I realised that skipping it didn't harm the story at all. It was just a useless info dump that doesn't really matter. This occurs often.

and last but not least I can only read the phrase "I your father" so many times before it gets old. I'm sure the author thinks this is funny, but I find it rather juvenile and repetitive.

I kept giving this story chances from the start and at this point I'm at chapter 54 and I regret spending my time trying my best to enjoy this story when I could have actually been enjoying one that is actually decent.

I do not recommend. <<less

A very amazing novel. I was wondering whatever the hell this was at first. But after a while, I got addicted. It's amazing how he uses all these techniques from Naruto to be so OP in this universe. Especially since in Naruto, a person couldn't have so many skills and powers like the MC of this novel does. Focusing and concentrating all those rare and many powers in Naruto, all into a single person, makes this novel really interesting.

But the downside of this novel, it's a bit slow... If... more>> the chapters were a bit longer, or more releases then this novel would be perfect, or at least the translations. But that's just me... <<less

Just to clarify, the complaints you see from many other reviewers are mostly valid, or at least, they hold aspects of the truth. This novel has a bunch of problems that occur from the merging of two worlds wherein the degree of success is dependent upon the author's knowledge of the Naruto world and his ability to integrate it into his world and make a cohesive story. The result is too much focus on introducing new aspects of Naruto and too little focus on crafting a well thought out story.... more>> The xanxia aspects are mostly typical, you have your usual cliche's and the romance as of ch.179 is essentially non existent with a few random sparks appearing here and there. Sadly this means that I must say that unless you are either a fan of Naruto or are looking for something to read with unique battle systems. You probably won't enjoy this novel.

HOWEVER

The Author does not fall flat on his face with making an interesting novel out of combining his ideas with Naruto. While it is in no way comparable in quality to novels such as ISSTH it is however a very entertaining causal read. If you like Naruto and the various Ninjutsu, Taijutsu and Genjutsu then you'll almost certainly find this novel a fun read so long as you don't focus too much on the lacking aspects of its plot. All in all, you could say it's hypocritical of me to give this novel a 4/5 considering my acknowledgement of its obvious flaws however, because I found myself particularly enjoying the combat and integration of various aspects of Naruto into the author's world, I had no issues overlooking those flaws. This novel is definitely not for everyone however it has a charm to it that some might enjoy. I'd say if you like Naruto and over the top battles and are in the business for a casual read with no deep plot then you'll enjoy this novel. <<less

Before I think it will be different from the others. But actually the plot is cliche, generic xianxia. The MC could learn all useful ability through system freely, of course he will be OP. Not much moral value because cheat beat the effort. There is joke but also cliche. But maybe in the next chapter it will be better, I still read this.

The idea itself isn't bad, if you are a fan of naruto and the xianxia world. Its kind of interesting to see these two ideas mix, you will never think of it but clearly someone has. Its not as bad as some reviewers say it is, at best it is mediocre, at worst its something you might run by and drop after awhile.

However I do have alot of issues with it despite thinking it isn't terrible. There are a lot of inconsistencies, or simply it doesn't really make sense. For... more>> example his whole goal of going back to his home world. Why? He doesn't seem like he gives a sh*t about anything other than naruto, at least according to what we know so why go back? He could have underlying feelings for his family and what not, its only logical, but the author doesn't bother to explain that so we might as well pretend his ties to the other world exist at all. He gets to live a life where what he loves is a reality so I see no strong motivation to return. Of course the obvious as well, doesn't he think that him returning will make him lose his powers and he'll just be a regular dork again.

Second his whole revenge thing.... I don't know seems kind of far fetched. I know this happens alot in transport to another world novels where the MC take over another person's life and gets there memories. Some MC feel the urge to make the identity they took to be better or get revenge, etc. It helps that the authors for those stories take their time to reveal the pain behind their lives and I can kinda see the transported person feel sympathy. But there is a really lack of depth for him to care in my opinion. Also the most important thing, if he really cares about returning home why is he bothering to bring more troubles to himelf? He could totally detach himself cause afterall everyone thinks he's dead.

The final part is spoiler territory so you can skip if you want (though its not too big). At some point he creates the Akatsuki mercenary group and when I read that part I was thinking he is mentally ret*rded isn't he? Why? Because just recently he got in a big fight with his old clan (the old identity) and he even declared that he came from the Akatsuki. He killed some important people but he emphasized alot on hiding his identity the whole time. Isn't creating a mercenary group with the same name really fckin s*upid? They track all the missions you do so its not hard to find you. I mean his old clan is a powerhouse, when that name comes up im sure they'll find you.

In summary its fun for a light read but don't take it too seriously, when you read some lines in your head you can't help but think that the MC has some mental issues. But that is my opinion <<less

If we are talking about the translation (they are working hard) - it could be better, a lot better (however I am really grateful to the translator for all of the hard work so far - keep up the hard work

When it comes to the story itself - It gives a new perspective on the old xianxias.
Since the protagonist is a Naruto die-hard fan. He somehow recieves a system for cultivation from the anime Naruto. Thus he does not (so far ch43) follow the norm in xianxias. And so... more>> far he actually has returning home as his main goal very much unlike many other reincanators in other novels.

But of course there are parts of the story that makes you cringe (if you ever watched Naruto before). I won't go into details there since I do not know how to make a spoiler thingy. However it is a very readworthy novel therefore I suggest that you try it first. Do not trust all of the reviews here since some of them are really biased. <<less

Usually I avoid writing reviews this early in due to a lack of depth into the story, however I decided to break that rule for this story. Despite what title might lead you to believe, the Author isn't trying to recreate Naruto, or any of it's characters. In fact so far, the story has been about inverting tropes in this genre. Let's start off with the MC, his motivation is different from most people in this genre. They just want to become godly strong to make sure no one can... more>> f*ck with them. This MC however, just wants to go home. Most MCs in this genre are portrayed as somewhat righteous. Ren however is am a**hole. Not villainous, not morally bankrupt, but an a**hole. C*cky too. And you can see it through how he interacts with some of his friends. Then there is how fights, where unless he needs to, he rarely shows his hand. Honestly, if it weren't for the setting, and how the characters interact I wouldn't think this was a Chinese novel. However the chapters are short and more often than not you are left with feeling you want more. Honestly I would describe this story as CSG with a less mu*derous and more accessible MC. <<less

The fact that the top rated review is somebody horribly tr*shing on the first chapter shows how bad the current system is. All the haters just liking the top comment without even caring about the story.

All the author did was have a bad attempt at humor, but clearly haters are taking it too seriously. Anyways, I've enjoyed the story so far besides for the crappy tournament arc.

I really like the author's writing style because he goes really in depth with the more epic fights. A lot of Xianxia are mostly... more>> just one-sided beatdown after one-sided beatdown, but this Author actually puts effort into fights. <<less

To be honest, I'm not sure I can finish this.

The central focal point of this novel is of course the Naruto system in a different world which is obvious from the title. Although I'm not sure if the author actually feels that passionately about Naruto or if it's just a way of milking it in order to profit from someone else's success. This concept actually isn't bad in itself and it started out great.

Problems arise later in the story, the time skip early on I didn't really like but it's... more>> understandable in the context of the length of this novel. The real problem is the power system of this different world, it's divided into fighters, magicians and illusionists, this works very much like the triangle battle systems in different mmos but with clear differences, fighters are strong against magicians, magicians against illusionists and illusionists against fighters. We however also see different bloodlines which are divided into grades depending on their potential, different grade of skills you can learn which supposedly determine the power of said skills where the major clans keep the good ones to themselves, which is very generic for a Chinese novel, and in the end the power system is also divided into different elements, like fire, water, earth and so on, that suppress each other. We even have some that are able to contract with different magical beasts that are related to their bloodline. (Or so it seems with the pact between a clan and the dragons)

On top of all of this all of these powers are never thoroughly explained, the first triangle battle system seemingly being totally forgotten later on, illusionists seem to be basically nonexistent, fighters are also rare, at least when it comes to enemies, while the different pros and cons of each just become different ways of fighting where it's all about the grade of your bloodline and while skills of different grades is introduced once it's never mentioned again, seemingly totally irrelevant. The bloodlines seem totally irrelevant as well, at least their grade, from the start we see nothing but high grade ones and the difference seem only visible at the utmost extreme limits, like what is later called god grade bloodline and everything being more a question of being part of a major clan, which will give you different cultivation materials, combined with hard work.

It just feels like the author didn't know which direction he wanted to go in and as a result just throws in random stuff over and over again just to totally forget about them later.

There is a lot of plot holes in this novel and despite the author bringing up how the hard work of the MC is all the time, every major power up aside from two different time skips is just random plot armor. Even some essence of the different elements is suddenly thrown in there just to speed things along, like the author make it a long and hard to obtain goal just to turn around and throw it in the face of the MC for free because he had to wrap up this novel as fast as possible, seeing how utterly dismal it is.

There really is nothing in this novel that I can point to and say it's redeeming in any way, it's just not worth your time and that's disregarding whether you've watched Naruto or not or even if you like it or not. <<less
