I liked their dynamic especially in the beginning because it had the "unlikely couple" vibe. Also, they're both adults (like in their 30s), while there were bits of childish acts here and there, it was overall a very mature book.

Even regarding the position, I wouldn't say one felt more "shou" or "gong" like it is in other books. Because they are both adult men.

It's a relatively short story with minor conflict.

Minus 0.5 for minor plot points that I wasn't sure about in such a short story like the ending bit

with the accident (I speed read a bit towards the end oops) leading to the hospitalization. But I guess that kind of wrapped up MC's family side at least. Also, did MYS new friend had to turn up bad? In the most cliché manner?

ML is a nasty brat with poor emotional management. In possession of a good heart and reliable in an emergency, yes, but terribly irritating on a daily basis. No impulse control, wallowing in the moon, barking all day and trying to hump the guests. His saving grace is that he is attentive about the people he feels need to depend on him. His worst trait is in taking his long suffering family FAR too much for granted. There is some evidence of evolution by the end of the book; the... more>> readers must content themselves with that.

ML grows on the MC -- people starving for love will inevitably require dogs -- who is worn out by loneliness and the needs of others. The character development of the princessy side character is also true to the setting, although of course the oncoming trainwreck could be seen coming a mile away. As others have noted, the ending was rushed.

This serves well as a story to pass the time with, but reading it felt very ordinary, and I have no motivation to pick it up again in the future.

Short and enjoyable read. Really loved the chemistry between the two leads, as how it felt nice and natural and went with the flow. With both the leads who are hurting from within come together with mutual and tactic understanding.

I really liked the fact that ML didn't paid any special attention to MC at first meeting. He simply thought of him as an average person. Like it felt close to reality as how two strangers think as they meet eachother.

They were adorable as they bickered with eachother. Both the characters were principled and had their own sense of measure.

it's very similar to all recent c-dramas, when you swallow the first 10 episodes in one breath, and then you wait for another 30 to be over, because, well, you've already started, it's a pity to quit in the middle

Great story. It definitely deserves a higher rating. It has a simple plot but the progress in the relationship between MC and ML makes it interesting and exacting to read. MC is well developed multilayered character which is the best part of this novel, so if you're bored of cliché MCs give it a chance.

[ML turning out to be a gigantic man baby is also a huge plus, for me at least]

I loved how they started off but after that it was a bit rushed maybe idk. I read this a month ago, I don’t remember the exact details. But overall it wasn’t a bad reading experience. I enjoyed it.

Got frustrated with the ML. I want a lot of good things for the MC and ML just wasn't it. Good writing and set up. Maybe just not to my taste.

Charity 5 stars. But it was actually a pretty good read. I just think that there were some issues that were introduced but weren't tied up properly. Maybe they should've been explored more before the ending or maybe it should've been in extras. Issues that were given quite a highlight in the main story, like the MC's family not knowing about their relationship.

But overall, it was still nice.

  • chtrs: 8/10 (it was pretty gd the MC is down to earth relatable kind of person while the ML is a rich nove who also has been through shet and was a playboy to heal his childhood wounds till he met MC, its FWB to Lovers btw, MC is very stable and reliable kind of person at first ML did not like MC but ended up anyways so kind of "enemies to lovers" troupe as well, both of them are literally opposites like one end scale to another and ML is a big vinegar jar but they end up working it out anyways)
  • storyline: 8/10 (i think they could have shown us more like till their marriage maybe the ending was too abrupt felt like a cliffhanger but its good that both of them managed to work out their differences and it was really realistic from this novel you again learn that no matter how different you are in terms of earnings to living condition or personality what really matters again is COMMUNICATION once you master that with your partner and overcome the hurdle phases you are pretty much locked in for good till imfinity)
  • overall: 8/10

when they fought & slept on separate beds but couldn’t fall asleep so ML carried a pretending to sleep MC to his bed to sleep. And woke up the next day accusing the MC of coming over himself at night.

Yes the ML is childish, a lot of the time, but I find his straightforward-ness quite refreshing at times. A different but similar kind of naïveté compared to MYS.

The overall plot line reads a bit cliche to me, with some conflicts or incidents happening too obviously for the sake of progressing the story in that manner or forcing that character development. Maybe I prefer a bit more detail to flesh out better?

Sorry but the most ridiculous one has got to be the sudden earthquake at the end after some oooh smut—BAM! Earthquake! Possible death of MC. Spiral into despair, realise they love each other so deeply.

But as a whole the general depiction of the painting scene is quite enjoyable/believable/some detail but still a bit unexplored (quite black & white just people pursuing their own agendas then this white moonlight MSY painting his stuff), and the two leads relationship does progress quite nicely and convincingly if I just blindly accept the coincidences. Past traumas are attempted to be conveyed but I didn’t feel connected.

The great funny sweet moments between the two make this a 4/5. Smut’s 4/5 when it appears. Would re-read as a quick story but not high on the list. <<less
