The older sister flees from her wedding to be with her lover, and her younger sister is forced to take her place in marrying a very powerful man.

As luck would have it, she ends up transmigrating into the body of that younger sister.

Although the man that she weds is very powerful, he’s the irredeemable final villain.

All villains are doomed to a bleak ending. And, as this villain’s wife, she’s afraid that her ending won’t be good either.

Fortunately, the older sister had gone back in time after having experienced a lifetime of suffering. This prodigal daughter returns to the turning point of her life. Pointing at her younger sister, she demands for her younger sister to hand over her husband.

Looking at this beautifully crying older sister, Ye Zhen swiftly yields and says, “Older sister, don’t worry. I haven’t even done anything with brother-in-law!”

To her shock, she later discovers that she’s pregnant.

With tears in her eyes, her older sister says, “Didn’t you say that nothing happened between the two of you?”

Ye Zhen looks at the great villain that doggedly pursues her. She is utterly and totally doomed.

There’s a great villain lying next to her, and she’s pregnant with a mini villain. How’s she suppose to survive?!

Later on, as Ye Zhen watches the great villain putting the baby down and changing the diaper, she sighs. “There’s nothing that can be done. I’ve already missed the golden opportunity to turn things around. How can I leave now?”

THERE IS NO r*pe.

Okay many people misunderstood because of the first few chapters of this novels. But along through to the story, you will see that this is just misunderstanding. There is no r*pe at all. ML is very good! One of the best ML in chinese novel. He really respect FL and trust FL. And FL too, really smart and realistic. They are really a match made in heaven 😭💖

I just want to say that this novel is really really good and thank you for translator who did really... more>> good job into translating this novel.

So I really recommend and encourage you to read this novel! It will be your loss if you are not 😝 <<less

I read the raws and the translated version and it’s actually pretty good. MC is not a Mary Sue. She actually has flaws. She’s a hedonist and doesn’t want to be bullied unlike those pathetic Mary Sue martyrs often prevalent in Chinese Novels. She knows what she wants and she would never want to be abused. She is actually level headed.

Let me remind everyone that r*pe occurs when one party does not consent. When MC was drunk she made a move On the ML but the ML was merely pretending... more>> to be in a coma but he was definitely conscious at that time. If he did not want it, he would have rejected MC right then and there easily because she was drunk and he could have easily overpowered her. But he did allowed it. And if you really read the whole book like some of us. Despite that fact that he was conscious at that time, she still took responsibility to it anyway.

And even when ML slept with MC and MC thought it was a dream she never rejected the ML. She would have kicked and screamed saying it was a nightmare but she didn’t, she also consented to the acts of the ML. After they confessed, the ML also took responsibility of his actions too. Both of them did. So both of them consented to their marital relationship. And they were happy.

Stop judging their decisions when both were human and took responsibility over their actions anyway. Some of you get offended way too easily when there are other tr*sh stories worst around. There are some novels so unrealistic with their fluff and perfect stories that makes me puke.

I really suggest reading the whole book by the raw and not just the translated version because the English translation is not yet completed. It’s really a good book. Short but sweet because there are no misunderstandings between the couple. Both loved each other and supported each other despite their own enemies.

One of the best pragmatic stories that I can recommend. <<less

I'd like to give this story a 2 but I did enjoy the middle parts of the novel so for that sole reason I will bump it to a 3, even though I feel that is extremely generous for a story of this caliber. Let me explain...

I can get past the dubious s*xual consent and high-handedness of the ML for the beginning of the story, I am pretty well used to this trope being used in romance novels and it honestly doesn't bother me much but I can see why... more>> some would rate the story poorly for it. However, I don't really see the point in rating a novel badly just based on morally reprehensible actions done in a story.

What I DO have an issue with is the said execution of the story. I don't think the author did a good job making the action of the two leads falling in love believable. I honestly just felt like the FL kept running away and finally just said f*ck it, I can't get away might as well make my bed and lie in it since I got a baby on the way. And after that you constantly feel like everything she does isn't out of love, or even fascination with the ML its more out of comfort. The mother in law is nice, might as well stick with this marriage. Oh, I have a baby, might as well stick with this marriage. I could be struggling alone in a foreign country with my son, so being in this marriage isn't so bad. etc. etc. I never got the sense of her ACTUALLY loving the male lead. It just felt like terribly written plot execution.

Spoiler

And then the real "villains" of the story. Oh my god. Their endings were EXTREMELY anticlimatic. One just sort of fades into oblivion and the other supposedly "ruthless/mad dog" villain just... GIVES UP ALL HIS CAREFULLY LAID PLANS JUST BECAUSE A LITTLE KID MADE HIM FEEL LIKE HE WAS GUILTY ON A KIDNAPPING THAT WAS JUST WINGED ON THE SPOT FOR THE LULZ. I'm sorry wtf?? You're telling me someone who plans for 30+ years, does countless evil deeds, f*cks over countless families and.. he is made to feel bad cause of a kid whining about how he wants to see his grandpa and dad? This villain then just goes off to travel the world and gives up everything he has to the family he supposedly hates?????? I.. just.. I have no idea what the author was thinking when they wrote that plotline. The main antagonist driving force of the novel, is completely bland. The character you think will be important to the story ends up regulated to a background character who just pines away silently... and is barely heard from. And the ending is abrupt. There is no closure on many things. For example the mystery of the grandfathers intentionally given cancer is NEVER EXPLAINED. But you can assume that the villain who felt bad and gave up everything must have did it.

[collapse]

Anyway.. since I enjoyed the fluff I give this a 3 instead of the 2 I REALLY want to give the story. I feel I wasted my time on this story though. <<less

Ughh... Reading some of these reviews, I'm concerned. I don't know how the ML's actions can be interpreted as anything other than r*pe. He literally drugs her during the night, and without her knowledge or consent, does s*xual acts on her when she's sleeping. Like it's textbook date r*pe, not even the slightly bit dubious or ambiguous.

I get it if you like the violently possessive type of ML. I'm not going to hate on it, even though it's definitely abusive. But this goes way, way beyond that. It's so clearly... more>> r*pe that I don't know what the hell people suggesting otherwise are thinking. I don't care if it's her husband, it's still r*pe. Newsflash, spouses and SOs can still r*pe their partners. A wife is not a possession, you can't just 'extract' s*x whenever you want it (not to mention, Ye Zhen hadn't willingly gone into the marriage). Doing a s*xual act while someone is unconscious and unaware of your actions, ESPECIALLY if they were drugged, is completely and utterly not ok (unless there's an extremely specific context to which everything was completely consented to beforehand, proper safeguards were arranged, and it's some kind of kink BD*M play. but that's not what's happening here).

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I'm not saying this story is completely unredeemable. The plotline is interesting enough, even though it suffers from the classic Chinese novel trope of the terrible family members completely discarding a random member of the family they decided to hate, and that one member rising up and 'slapping them in the face.' The writing is alright. Ultimately, the novel can still be read in context of the r*pe. It's a novel, not real life. The r*pe isn't real. If a r*pe fantasy is enjoyable to you, it can be read as such. However, it should be very clear that this is a fantasy, not real life. These actions would never be okay to commit in real life, and judging by the reviews, I'm not sure that's completely clear to some of you.

In this case, however, it does detract from the story. It's an issue of framing - it's supposed to be a heart-warming romance. If it weren't for the r*pe, I would have felt the relationship was heartwarming. In a den of lions, the only one to treat him kindly is the sacrificial wife pushed onto him when he's in a coma, and despite her terrible situation, she warmly takes care of him. He reciprocates those feelings and a budding romance forms. If that was the only aspect of it, and he didn't literally drug her and do stuff to her while she was sleeping, then I probably would enjoy this much more.

edit: I've seen some people say that because she r*ped him first, it somehow isn't r*pe. I've just recently read to that part. First of all, that aspect of it is so shoehorned in it's laughable. She accuses him of taking advantage of her while she's sleeping and he's like "actually you r*ped me first that one time." Literally this is the first time we've heard about this in the entire story, and this is like chapter 80. It's so clearly a random shoehorned justification from the author for the ML when they realized how terrible his actions are. And ok, so she r*ped him first? So he's justified in raping her back? Yeah, "it was revenge r*pe" will really hold up in court. Both of them are rapists, wonderful. Doesn't justify anything or fix anything, just makes the FL worse as well. <<less

This story disturbed me so much I literally had to register just to bring that disgusting 4.0/5 review down.
Spoiler

The male lead is raping the female lead! I dropped it after the female lead slaps him and he ruthlessly r*pes her even after she begs him to stop. Whatever you have to say about consent, it doesn't matter because that's outright r*pe. Some people have the audacity to say that you shouldn't review a book based on your ethics. Well I'm not here to read about excused r*pe. Goodbye.

1.5 STAR: Dropped at 140. It was honestly interesting until the evil sister plot came in.

Here are my complaints:

The author writes psychoanalysis about her family members every time they're mentioned. Stop it. Don't spend time on evil sister/mother and a money sniffing father. They're not so complicated.

Spoiler

I don't mind drunk s*x or "spicy" content as long as it's fiction but... you know... you drugged your wife... before not even knowing you personally... then continued to have s*x with her drugged state... and made a kid with her. It made me questioned their sanity.

Sister swap arc was very annoying.

I couldn't feel any sincerity from this story. FL doesn't even love ML, for fuc sake, it's chapter 140. How long are you gonna made me wait?

[collapse]

There's minimum conversation between ML and FL. Why the topic always comes to what people think about them. Side characters have more dialogue than ML/FL.

The translator did a truly great job, but the plot... wasn't something I'd stay longer. <<less

It’s dubious consent but not in the way many readers who dropped this early think.

Spoiler

Actually Ye Zhen made the move on Beichuan when she was drunk. She drank right after she transmigrated because she was stressed about the situation. Beichuan‘s legs are actually injured so he can’t move them let alone walk over to Ye Zhen and r*pe her. Technically she r*ped Beichuan.

Ye Zhen is an unreliable narrator concerning their first night together.

Honestly, I get it. Why some people doesn’t like this novel but let me just say one thing, the pregnancy had nothing to do with the romance. I enjoy a good romance if I find one and this is a great romance novel.

If you guys can skim pass through the r*pe part (cuz not really relevant in all honesty) then this is a good novel to read. The ML was described as a villain so I really wasn’t expecting much from him from the start. He was already said... more>> to be possessive of Ye Qing from the novel so I didn’t really blink twice that he wanted Ye Zhen to stay with him.

A villain will always be a villain and I’m guessing if Ye Qing hadn‘t love Lin Zhan (in the novel) and didn’t have the protagonist protection, he would have kidnapped her and forced her to have his baby. Just sayin.

He is rich and powerful boy does he know it. He knows he can provide but he wasn’t an as*hole like his father that will spread his seed and he certainly won’t do it unless he have feelings for the girl. I like his flaw, it’s consistent and I understand that probably males from the family has high libido, judging from his father’s past. I get it r*pe is still r*pe and I won’t ever say it is good for anyone. I came here for the romance and I got it. I just wished he hadn’t r*ped her then this would have been a great story.

My only relief is he took responsibility for the Ye Zhen and the baby, he maybe a bad person but he wasn’t evil. You know what I mean?

All in all great read I want to finish this and I rarely say that lol <<less

First the rating I wanted to give is half a star but couldn't change it. I was fooled by previous review to read this story it's absolute garbage. As other reviewer said I don't which eyes people see this as fluffy romance. So far haven't seen single fluff. Our unfortunate fMC does not have freedom to decide her life under s*ave like condition she's on her way Stockholm syndrome or a masochist I guess. Her journey is unbearable to me. When I reading a romance I imagine myself a fMC... more>> in this it's ridiculously painful road. One good thing about story it's true to the title. ML is villain alright and she's pregnant with his child. According to my knowledge she's r*ped but some law experts say otherwise?. In my country if a women is disoriended and didn't give a clear consent it's a r*pe. Then she get pregnant thinking s*x was a erot*c nightmare yeah nightmare cause she struggled. She was checked by ml's doctor friend (another douche) and found her pregnant and concealed it from her with ml. Thats completely against hippocratic oath he desrve to revoke his medical license. And pregnancy is not a joke it could've been life threatening its her right to know about her body condition and prescrbing hypnotics without her knowledge just cream of the crop. This story made me dissapointed with humanity. People see the emotionally abusive relationship as fluffy and romantic what wrong with you peope. There other disgusting stories out there but this one is more horrible cause its apparently cute story. Some people think those one star reviews only due to r*pe thingy ? Oh boy actually for me I get passed it you know since its not 100% proven and MC seems doesnt mind it at all. But the problem is she didnt make single decision about her life. She's like a doll. After trying desperately run away she just hollowed out letting ML do anything living like a vase. I hate ML for confining her, that pathetic man did not had the guts to pursue her like human do. And his mother she whine early in story MC does not have opinions and look down on her, but which opinionated women like to stuck with a comatose husband. Its eerie how realistic this son and mother duo. I dont even understand how people can not see how abusive the story is. If I'm thirteen maybe but its horrific. <<less

first, there was no r*pe or no consent acts. It was explained, briefly, on one of the chapters but it was there.

spoiler: they got married, the FL just transmigrated got drunk and got it on with the ml. FL got pregnant from this one time and the doc even joked with the ML when they found out the FL was pregnant. Perhaps the thing that blurred that was sleeping pills slipped into the fl's milk and that was explained as well on the same chapter. This was very brief and... more>> easily overlooked since it's one of those passing scenes that usually gets overlooked.

second, i've stated this before finish the whole story before commenting and rating. If you don't finish it, don't rate and comment because it could be very misleading to other readers and very insulting to the authors and translators who put in the hard work!

third, for a fluff oriented story I think this story was quite decent and better than some stories that have overly complicated plots but has no meaning at all. This is a good filler read, tbh. It's light and easy to digest.",) <<less

The story was great, it did not have anyyyy r*pe scenes, clearly those who said that didn't read the story properly. The ML was in a coma and when he came out of the coma he couldn't use his legs. To preserve his own life, he continued to pretend to be in a coma. The MC was literally a random girl married to him while he was in a coma, he has no obligations to her at all. As for how she got pregnant, yeah she was drunk and she... more>> basically slept with the ML, he couldn't do anything because he could not use the lower half of his body. How tf is that r*pe, make it make sense. The ML was unsure of the MC's identity as his enemies could have hired her to look after him, that is why he fed her sleeping pills, so at night when he is working on recovering the use of his legs no one would discover he was not in a coma. <<less

Okay, so I stopped reading at around chapter 260 and let me tell you about this mess.

Spoiler

First, lets address the issue that everyone is talking about. Yes, there was r*pe. If you go at face value of what the author has written, then the FL r*pes ML when she first transmigrated. She gets drunk one night and forces herself on him while he was paralyzed. If you read in between the lines, it comes off as ML r*ping FL instead. She gets sleeping drugs every night, wakes up with hickeys, and her body feels sore/legs were weak. I've read enough c novels to know that thats what is described after having s*x.

Second, the characters. They're very s*upid. They don't learn? Like all other female love interest for the ML are so enamored with him and can't believe that he ended up with such an average girl. They all hate her and plan for her downfall, but every time they do, they're just shooting themselves in the foot. You'd think after the 3rd time, they would think to just move on or stop, but they don't... FL's parents have a really dumb excuse to treat her the way they do... All in all, all the characters are very 2 dimensional.

Third, the author. They are inconsistent with what is happening or what has happened. Such as, oh previously all the character had this type of personality and did a 180 for no good reason. Previous FL was smart, kind, and clever? Previous ML that everyone was in love with, is super successful, smart, and is extremely handsome? Nope, not anymore. The author basically re-wrote the 'original' story, but with their characters.

What broke me was chapter 260. It might've been mentioned earlier on, but the characters kept talking about a written contract between them basically saying that ML did not love FL and only married her because he was pregnant anyways. Originally this written contract was not in there, and the author went back to insert that tidbit in to add more drama/misunderstanding I guess. Reading from how it was before the change, ML was in love with FL and refused to let her leave/didn't want to marry anyone else. If said contract was in place and he didn't love her, what was making the ML want FL so badly? He could've had her get rid of the baby, or they could've just called everything even and they went their separate ways since they didn't have a reason to be with each other.

[collapse]

TLDR; Writing is repetitive. Author is unreliable, and went back to change what originally happened for drama. Why read something if the original plot that was already established is going to get changed? <<less

I wasn't sure about reading, because all of the conflict on whether or not there is s*xual assault. I decided to judge for myself, since I couldn't find a clear answer in the other reviews. I will explain what happens below. First, my opinion on the 150 chapters I've read -

This story is unfortunately incoherent. Not because of poor translation - the translator is doing a great job and I appreciate them. The author just can't keep their ideas straight. First the FL has been there a year, and then... more>> just a month. A drive takes an hour and a half, and then an hour in the next chapter. Character b did something, oh, no they didn't, nevermind, wait, of course they did. The father has insight into the situation, the father is completely oblivious and puts his foot in it. It's been five month - wait, sorry, nine months. Etc, etc.

No wonder people are confused on the assault. I don't think this story is entirely badly written, but I do feel like I'm grading someone's high school paper every time I remember that the author said something, but they dont. I'm dropping the story at this point, because so much air is wasted saying absolutely nothing. The characters have been together for ten months, have barely spoken or lived their lives. I feel like everything I've read has been like soap bubbles. It looks like there is a lot, but as soon as you touch it, it collapses.

I think this could be a story that plenty of people enjoy - it isn't BADLY written, if the inconsistencies don't bother you. The main character has good goals, the male lead does care for the MC. Watching them succeed could be very satisfying, if the story resonates with you. It doesn't for me.

As for the assault - Yes. There was at least some degree of nonconsensual activity on both party's ends. However, I will fully lay out in detail what happened for you so that you can decide if it goes too far for you to enjoy the story or not.

Spoiler

It is only mentioned afterwards, and is not experienced in the story, but the day they got married, the FL got drunk and initiated activity with her new husband. I'm not sure why or how that works, since she thought he was comatose. Was the the one assaulting him, at this point?? I assume so. The author's inconsistencies say that he was able to stand at this time, and sometimes says that he was not. He wouldn't have let her know that he was awake beforehand.

She has no memory of that.

The husband realizes that she has nightmares and doesn't sleep well, so he has his doctor friend prescribe sleep aids and the butler dissolves them in her milk every night. She is being drugged without her consent. It was "for her own good, " but also as soon as she finds out about it, they stop giving it to her, so she must not have needed it for her own good that much.

Some nights she has dreams about being intimate with her husband. MOST of these are not acknowledged on if they're fantasies, real, or memories of what they did before. The author doesn't imply any of those are the right or wrong answer. You're safe assuming any of those are the truth, because the author won't tell you otherwise. However, some of these dreams take place in different locations, so if they were memories, then they certainly were proactive on that one night. HOWEVER - the husband does at least touch her one night while she is drugged.

She wakes up with two hickies. She's confused, because someone else came onto her the night before, but they didn't touch her like that. She laughs at the idea that they could be allergic reactions, because she's an adult woman who knows what a hickey is. The doctor, who is in the male lead's pocket, lies to her and says they are allergic reactions to something - but more importantly he acknowledges that this is a lie when talking to the male lead later. He scolds the ML for being a beast, so both author and doctor at least know that this was wrong. So she was definitely embraced while drugged into unconsciousness.

in summary: it does not APPEAR to be full penetrative assault while either one of them is asleep, but what is done, on both of their parts, is beyond the line of consent and could be destressing if this is a sensitive topic for you. Both MC and ML are victims of assault, and are the perpetrators to each other. Neither one of them has any upset about this.

It is told in very roundabout ways, so I understand why so many people have different opinions on what happened. You end up piecing it together sentence by sentence over a large number of chapters, and sometimes remembering details that the author has forgotten can cause extra confusion.

Let me just say, those who gave a 1 star rating has judged this novel harshly without reading the facts first. He did not r*pe her, on the contrary, she was the one who slept with him while drunk. He did instruct his doctor for the butler to give her some sleeping pills but it's because she massage him and takes care of him all day and she has trouble sleeping at night even though she's already tired. He only slept with her once while he was pretending to be... more>> on a coma, and that was that time she was drunk, at another time, he gave her a hickey while she was sleeping because she slapped him. I think he fell in love with her while he was pretending to be on a coma.
Spoiler

She was the one taking care of him when he was on a coma. He was pretending because he woke up and he was paralyzed below, and she learned from the therapists so she massages him all day, and always talks to him. Like he said, everyone has their own selfish agenda when he was sleeping, except for her. She genuinely believes he's going to wake up (well, because she read the book), so while he's sleeping, she tells him, don't do anything illegal, be nice to your wife, keep your kid on the right path, etc so he won't end up like he did in the novel. And she told him she's leaving so he woke up earlier than he would have.

[collapse]

It was a really fun read. She influenced this villain to be upright, which made the original story veered off it's original ending. At the same time, the leads of the novel did not really pursue taking down the villain, maybe because he has changed or they were influenced by the MC and Zhou zhou (the villain child who was supposed to become evil).

Her family is horrible but she has a very good mother in law who treats her like a real daughter. The grandfather also loves her and her husband dotes on her. While her family treats her as an inferior, her husband's family cherishes her.

The FL in the novel, Ye Qing (which is Ye Zhen-FL's twin) is a reincarnator. So some readers really gets confused because she reincarnated from the alternate ending where YZ and LB lived happily with their son while YQ and LZ (the novel's ML) became ordinary workers. She saw them one day, happy, and saw how LB love and dotes on his wife and this caused her to be jealous, thus she broke up with the ML and tried to switch places with her sister when she reincarnated, but it's unfortunate because LB and mother-in-law can tell them apart. Also, this is one of the most small-minded reincarnator, ever. You already know some of the thing that will happen in the future, but you only tried to steal your sister's position and tried to compete with her. She could have hugged her sister's thigh instead. Her being a reincarnator means nothing aside from giving her some knowledge that LB will be a doting husband, and that's the plot device for her to scheme.

LB is a virtuous villain.
Spoiler

He obviously loves his wife so much, they sleep together in bed every night but he is in abstinence for 2 years because he wants her to be willing when they do it. He's not the dominant type and he respects her. Also, no unnecessary misunderstanding in the story. It's not that they don't care about each other, but they trust each other. He never questions her and he knows she's only doing or giving him advice unselfishly

[collapse]

I wanna say a lot but I feel like I'll be spoiling the story too much. I've read a lot of this author's novels, and I'd say this is one of my favorite. I just wish there's some side-story with their children or they showed what happened to YQ and her mom. <<less

In regards to the rap* scenes people are talking about:

Spoiler

long story short, when MC first transmigrates, she I guess uses alcohol to drown her sorrows away (she’s sad/bewildered/in denial that she is in a novel). In her drunken stupor, she gets grabby with the “comatose” ML + ML responds back and they have s*x (can be considered rap* b/c ML did not consent at first but also not really b/c instead of pushing her away, he responded back and did the deed [for me, while there was a lack of verbal consent, both parties are at fault to a certain extent]) and due to the alcohol, MC does not completely recall that night/that particular moment. This is the only time they have interc**rse and this first time was what got the MC pregnant (so theres no continual rap* happening and it only seems like there is b/c MC keeps dreaming about their first night together).

In regards to the sleeping pills

Spoiler

ML noticed MC was not sleeping well so he wanted his doctor (who knew he was pretending to be in a coma) to prescribed sleeping pills to MC so she could sleep better. ML was NOT taking advantage of her and only wanted her to sleep better.

[collapse]

This novel is mostly generic, MC who does mostly what she wants, ML who falls in love w/ MC and tries to win her heart, parents who belong in the incinerator, a villainess (one who’s s*upid + foil and another who is in love w/ the ML) and at least one/two decent human beings. The baby is their mostly to show the ML and MC being good parents.

Honestly, you will see the situation/novel differently from others. If you’re just a casual reader you will probably be fine with the random things happening in the novel. My advice is to just read it as a novel and enjoy it as it is instead of dwell too much on EVERY single detail. <<less

Hello everyone do you really know how to read. There's no r*pe scene. Please don't skip and read every chapter for you to understand. Well, it turns out that the MC was the one who attacked ML when she was drunk. The child happened out of drunkness.

The part that the s*x happen is controlled of the original character (Ye zhen the original character from the book) and the morning to that she transmigrated.

I can't bring myself to continue this.

I really can't like the ML and the FL (mainly because she is a bit foolish) . And the plot of the author. The whole romance was build on lies or lack of communication dubious consent and an accidental pregnancy.

The writing is in a style that make it easy to read, the characters are cliché and the plot... is full of unnecessary events. I will give a rating of 2.5 because it was somewhat addicting to read (you know when the plot is... more>> kinda cliche and somewhat bad but you can't stop...)

I can't change the ratings anymore...

I think the character of the characters have less to do with the ratings so I will just rant about it without lowering the rating

It is true that it's the FL that climbed into the ML's bed but obviously, neither of them consented. The whole thing is weird. Later, no one tell her how the heck she ended up with a kid.
She thinks he is in coma when he's not and she unwittingly, reveals many things she shouldn't have. Later, he acted like he also doesn't know what is going when in fact he was aware of everything. Anyway he took her for a fool.

I think the child was just a way to tie her to him. I'm not saying he doesn't like his future child though

He won't even let her leave because he deceived her and she don't like him.

FL doesn't seem to have a strong self esteem. She try to escape but if I was her, I would have told everything to his parents and leave OPENLY. Things would have been much easier if it would have gone this way. It's not like she cares about her hypocritical family.

His intentions were initially good. But why can't he act like a decent human being, court her normally and show her that he hasn't completely blackened?

No woman would like such a manipulative person. Also, it's pathetic how the author try to make the FL concede a bit because of his handsomeness.

It's rare for me to be so disgusted with a ML, even Long Feiye of Genius poison consort is a "bit" better or the ML of medical princess. All of them are tr*sh though.

I think the worse kind of people in love are manipulative and overbearing.

I don't care if the story become fluffy later, I can't get past this.

I don't know where are you all seeing the character development of the ML.
Spoiler

Just because he arrested the father? He is just trying to listen to the FL's advice. He didn't even understand where she is coming from. He didn't really change. We just get to see more of his "gentle" side toward the FL. That's why we get the misconception that he changed for the better

[collapse]

What a joke.

Ultimately, the FL will like the ML and the whole family will be harmonious. It's just that the process.... <<less

About the dubious consent : in fact, we're being played by the author, I think it's written as a teaser or joke, but the facts are not that bad : later on it is explained how the recently transmigrated MC got drunk and abused her « husband ». Of course, you can also think he could or should (?) have resisted, but well this is far from r*pe and the MC doesn't take offense. As for the rest his offenses are not more a pair of hickeys : well after... more>> massaging him all day long the girls sleeps like a koala with him as a tree while having wet dream about him... it's kind of hard to blame him ? Or maybe the dubious consent should be about him ? After all he's supposedly comatose

If you're out for these silly modern Cinderella-ish chinese romance, id' think it's far from the worse. You got pretty much every stereotype without the extra length. It's pretty typical of the genre, but on the cute side and without much abuse. It's mostly kind, not vengeful and above all : not too long and the ML is not a total psychopath.

After that - like always ?) it's pretty weak, it does not make much sense, it's cinderella-ish. There's basically no purpose to the story, except undoing the tragedies of book.

The idea that the two sister were envious of each other life was interesting as well as the fact that the eldest was reborn with memory too could have been fun, but it is short lived.

Lastly, everything from pregnancy to childbirth to babies is pretty much nonsensical - that is to say, - more non sensical than the rest of it... <<less

I MTLED this and it was fairly easy to understand. This novel is a good read when you don't want too much angst, a good amount of fluff as well as family fluff, and plot-driven.

I feel like many of the reviews here read the novel and brushed past or forgotten a lot of details. All of the questions will be answered. (I feel like all the ones I had were anyway.)

Spoiler

From what I got from mtl is the FL was given sleeping pills because she had insomnia/couldn't sleep well at night/ she tossed and turned often. He didn't do anything and did so only after because the FL initiated their first night. So depends on how you take it.

[collapse]

I also love their relationship. I envy them.
Spoiler

The FL saved him, supported him, stood by his side when he needed it the most. While He helped her and listens to her as well as respect her decisions. He never really forced her to do anything. It was a very natural way of falling in love and it takes more than just love to make a marriage work which I love how the author portrayed it.

[collapse]

The ML was a true def of a good husband. (Except sometimes his thoughts were *ahem villainous/dark BUT I mean he was initially a villain anyway LOL.) He is seen as the typical cold type, but his thoughts differ his appearance which I feel like it's different from other novels. He's more quiet and reserved than 'cold.'

The FL isn't really mary sue per say, she just didn't want to get involved.

As for the villains. Typical white lotus stuff, fake family (The wife should stfu), etc and I feel like the last arc of the story was dealt pretty stalely, but it did have some logical sense so I didn't mind. I also feel bad for some of them actually.
Spoiler

The Uncle was treated poorly before and I think he misunderstood that the grandpa didn't want him? Idgi As for the original male lead, I feel so bad for him because of the other twin, that he was duped. He went to the hospital twice when she gave birth to make sure she delivered safely and left (my poor soul).
