I’m Not Even an Otome Game Mob Character

Issac, who has memories of his previous life in Japan, is an apprentice gardener of a duke’s family.

The duke’s house was the house of a rival daughter of an otome game played by his younger sister!

But I realized that I’m not a mob in the game.

There is no possibility of being caught up with the rival and facing ruin.

Does it make sense for me to have memories of my previous life?

That’s why I aimed to become a gardener without worrying about being in the world of an otome game.

Nice story, slife of life almost. More importantly, it is wholesome and fluffy af! There no drama, there's nothing but wholesomeness.

The MC although is a reincarnated person, he doesn't act like one because he doesn't have full memory of his past life. His thinking is more of "I have past life, although I don't remember much. So I just live my life how one should live their own life". For real tho, this doesn't feel like an otome novel since apart from the MC having his past life memory, there's... more>> not much of a progress on the "otome" element for example: helping the villainess away from ruin, helping the heroine, or the target male being rival of the gardener or something or such. Apart from making the villainess a good girl, the story didn't really do anything otome like. This is more of an "reincarnated person living his life novel".

I get it that people might get turn-off knowing this is not an otome novel but I highly recommend this because this is very wholesome story. Just a simple story of a boy who knows he's a reincarnated person but live his life happy and normally. There's no cheat ability, no drama, and etc etc, only wholesome and fluff. <<less

Not much is known since I have read only 13 chapter, but so far it really feels refresh to see MC living a simple life of gardener in a Nobel's mansion.

In this type of novels MC is either planning to save world from background, trying to avoid FMC and lay low or build up a harem by face slapping but here it's pure simple daily life in a Nobel's mansion and interesting character interactions between MC and FMC

I will update it later after some more chapters.

The characters make little to no sense and lack nuance. They're little kids little little kids this can't come off as anything but uh huh, oh yeah, oh oh I see.

The worst character in this is the prince he's unbelievable bland yeah I get it author he needs to be perfect but ZAMMN! shut up please just shut up I don't want cringe anymore this novel is awful I'd give bonus points for the complex sentences but they seem a little hard to translate...

Of course if nuance doesn't matter to... more>> you or compelling plot point don't either and maybe you think it's okay to read 400 chapters cause that's when it starts getting good go right ahead rate five stars the novel deserves it I swear no really it's so unique and compelling <<less

I've come here from the manga version and I like this so far.

I like how MC is an apprentice gardener and the setting is reasonable enough to meet the Duke's Daughter.

This is a cute chill story and while it does have cliches I am enjoying it so far.

Overall 2.5 stars

Pure and wholesome story. MC is reincarnated, but aside from being a bit mature for his age, you can you just treat it as a regular fantasy story. Story is genuinely pleasant to read, MC doesn't get unnecessarily flustered or cause weird misunderstandings. There's no intent of any kind from the main character whatsoever, he's a gardener through and through, and just honestly seems like a kid who loves gardening. Feels like a shoujo kinda story almost, with how the MC is a genuinely pleasant boy

Story: LOVE Isaac's way of living that triggers the change in the flow of the otome game world (comparative to the Princess, who reaaaaalllyyyy is kinda very useless)

Relationship: once again, Isaac makes the romance SWEET. Not to mention his friendship with the Prince and Nico, as well as his family and colleagues. The relationship between the Prince and Villainess is also goals!

Translation: Fan Translations does a waaaay better job at making a comprehensive and non brain ache inducing sentences that make sense.

Toasty Translations claims they passed JLPT test, which... more>> is fine, but the way they translate the sentences so darn literally, hurts my brain. Their Japanese is probably 'okay', but their English sentence structure ridiculously needs improvement. Even after 40 translated chapters, I still have brain ache from reading their TL work. <<less

This novel is a very wholesome story that started between the two child. I'm usually not a fan of romance with child characters, but this one is different because aside from being so wholesome, it also feels natural.

The story revolves between the originally selfish child heroine who changes as the story goes on, and the kind child MC who is not afraid to be honest, help someone that he changed the life of people around his environment. There's a lot of development involving meeting new characters and also changing their... more>> lives, this is not limited to the characters of the otome game but even adults.

The MC barely have knowledge on what happened to otome game, and every changes was the results of his personality and coincidence as he never used any game knowledge throughout the story. The development is not fast nor too slow and just right. There are also surprising ones that happened. There's barely drama here, and there's nothing like the usual difference of status problems, or love rival/triangles that happened. Most characters are kind persons but it's not like their heads are only full of flowers. It's really just a wholesome story with lots of interesting developments that's not limited by romance or the MC and heroine.

The last arc felt rushed though. The whole novel is like 90% spent on the character's childhood and before the original game timeline. The other 10% which is the last volume was spent on academy arc and the solutions for the MC to marry the heroine, and then it ends. The epilogue is also just a future of the two. So aside from being rushed, the ending left me unsatisfied. I guess the real treasure were the friends we made along the way we're the whole developments we read along the way.

I'll still give it a solid 5 because like I said, the whole story is very good and wholesome that I'll surely recommend it to everyone. <<less
