At the time of writing this review, there are 4 "5" votes and 3 "1" votes. With a vote in "2" and "3", that brings it to a very controversial middling score. Personally, I am dropping a "5" after nearing what seems to be the end of the first arc because the experience has been great and I'd hate for people to pass up this novel that has no written reviews and such an undeserved middling rating.

It's very unique because I rarely see mystery being successfully used as a tool for cultivation type novels. Rather than wondrous, it's a dreadful type of mystery, which evokes fond memories of various quality psychological thriller animes/mangas.

I also feel like it's one of the only novels in the genre that actually put decent effort into the "transported to another world" trope, so despite it using similar tools as countless other cultivation novels, it still feels fresh to me. The MC himself isn't just a stereotyped caricature either : even in the hundred chapters I've read, he's failed, experienced growth of various types, and adapted himself to situations.

I don't want to say too many details because as much as I don't mind spoilers myself, I think many would appreciate the unadulterated experience, so all I can say is to please give this novel a try if anything I've written appeals to your sensibilities. <<less

He for some reason decided to make the protagonist a "messiah" who came to save all mortals, instead of hammering away at everything and increasing his power and thinking only about himself. But, the main character is kindness itself, and all the demons for him a priori villains, only people are good)))
It's all nothing, the most important thing is that the world is not spelled out in any way, everything revolves around the main character, no matter how s*upid actions he did not do, he will still win, because his opponents will do more s*upid things. Plus, it says that the righteous world has fallen, but it's only been 20 years, but it's already full of 1000-2000-3000 etc year old demons, funny. The author doesn't explain in any way what happened.

This novel was extremely engaging in the first chapters, with a heavy and dark environment full of horror and mystery, but bizarrely the author throws all that away and turns it into a mediocre novel simply because he wants to write a comedy romcom, the worst thing is that it looks like even after all the nasty things the mc's wife did to the MC they probably still ended up together in the end.
In short: A novel that had huge potential was destroyed by a disgusting romantic comedy

To be honest, I find it really sad that this is a cultivation novel by the end of the day, and one of the major reasons I'm dropping it is because those stories aren't my cup of tea. It was the very last tag so it went unnoticed by me. But yeah, it's a xianxia novel. Although it starts slow, it builds up in color and intensity. I feel like the struggle of pure mortals against demons would be a much more interesting premise for a thriller, because I really can't enjoy the process in immortal cultivation novels.

So overall, if you don't mind a xianxia thriller, go for it. I reached a point in the development where I'd seen the fate of characters I'm interested in and honestly don't feel like going on. But by no means it's a bad novel. <<less
