A very cute, funny, and satisfying story to read!

There's no long drawn out or major conflicts but the story never feels boring because there's always something happening in the FL's life that is inadvertently funny and entertaining.

Here are some of my favourite tidbits:

    • The FL gains 10 pounds in 2 weeks after she becomes a food streamer and is forced to diet and go to the gym. At the gym she struggles to exercise because she's low in energy, strength, and stamina.
    • The FL literally turns yellow after eating too many oranges to promote local orange sales. Netizens comment that she looks like a yellow ping-pong ball so a skin whitening cosmetic company hires her to film a commercial where she's first dressed as yellow ping-pong ball that gets whitened as a result of using their products.
    • The FL accidentally joins her own fan club and becomes an admin. Later, when the fans discovers that she's in the club they kick her out because they want to maintain a sense of distance between celebrity and fans.
    • The FL tricks a scammer who was originally trying to scam her into sending her money then immediately afterwards, she reports the scammer to the police. When the police takes the scammer in they realize that she's a part of this whole ring of mobile scammers so the FL is praised.
    • The FL gives her boss a stack of autographs and a childhood photo when she mistakenly becomes convinced that he's one of her dad fans. Later, his image as her dad fan is so firmly entrenched in peoples' minds that no one believes that they're a couple even when they're photographed in ambiguous poses outside.

This is probably one of the funniest dialogues in the story:

FL and ML are having a date at the ranch.

FL: These two lambs look like they could be our son and daughter.

[ML is pleased and shy because she mentioned kids and is now thinking if he should set up a special place for these two lambs to live.]

FL [looking at the female lamb]: Lamb, you are so good-looking. You must be tasty roasted.

ML [shocked]: How can you eat your own daughter?!

FL: Okay. Fine. We won't eat our daughter.

[ML is relieved.]

FL: We'll just eat our son.

Worried that his children will be slaughtered, the ML eventually gets the ranch manager to put special collars on the two lambs. As they're going home, the FL is still mentally listing all the dishes with lamb that she'd like to eat.

It's a very fun story and quite cute as well! It's not a super original plot line and mostly just follows MC's rise to success, but its a pretty good, light hearted story.

MC's gimmick is that she's "not like other girls celebrities" and even though she's a super pretty and cute girl, she does embarrassing/normal stuff like gain weight whilst doing an live eating broadcast/mukbang or look extremely worn out and unwilling while she's working out. She's very laidback but by no means is she dumb. It's refreshing that she's... more>> not some super-perfect actress with world domination level acting/movies as well, she's a good actress but not some god level "omg no one else can compare!" kinda thing. While she is down-to-earth and it's fun to read about her antics, my only dislike about the story is that the glowing reception she receives for everything and anything coupled with her exceptional luck can be a little grating. A lot of opportunities fall into her lap via luck and she gets onto the hot search/trending list so easily and constantly that it's not even significant anymore.

Plot wise, it's really just about her life in the entertainment industry/actress and becoming more and more popular. Honestly, the whole "novel" concept in the beginning should be thrown away. The protagonists of the "book" that MC lives in aren't even mentioned by name until one throwaway scene where MC and the protagonist meet near the end.

Since I read this before the romance was tagged, I think it worked in the story's favor by being a surprise for me. The ML and MC are honestly very cute together!! When the romance started to pick up, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked them as a couple and how I was hoping they were going to end up together, and they did! The pacing was done quite well and because the ML and MC only started their romance later on, it never felt unbalanced or that one was better than the other. The first half of the story was mostly just all about MC and her acting career, which wasn't bad but a lot of it simply went "MC goes to show, does quirky thing, audience loves it, show becomes success", and when the romance finally kicked in, it was a refreshing change of pace and succeeded in keeping me reading until the end. Their child is so well behaved and adorable in the end! 💖

While it has it's faults, overall it's a good story with an MC who isn't dumb or perfect and she does face her own problems. If you're looking for a light hearted, quite fluffy story about an actress whose down-to-earth and quirky, this is a good one. I do suggest reading this paced out instead of one whole binge however, as I stated before, her glowing reception/luck can get annoying at times when it's continuously occurring and can feel like everyone is her fan/can do no wrong. <<less

A solid five star just for all the giggles this one gave me.

If you're looking for something laid-back and humorous, you should try this novel for sure. The author is godlike with sprinkling humor in this story. The MC is especially charming and she's the one that brings the laughs like 98% of the time. She's ridiculous in the most you-actually-make-sense-but-not in the best way possible. Another good point of this novel is the ML. He's not really the typical ML as he doesn't fall head over heels with the MC immediately after meeting her. There was some time and progression before it gets to the stage of liking each other.

A little more about ML and the romance:

What also sticks out to me is that he is really like...a person, I guess? Like, you're the boss of this artist and no matter how beautiful she is, the usual way would be establishing a sense of distance with each other as the ML just views her as a potential good seed (or not because she was in the company for so long but never got famous... which got elaborated in the novel, no worries). Basically, he might admire her good looks but at the end of the day, he knows nothing about her as a person and vice versa plus being his employee means that love is far-fetched.

Only after interacting with her for a while that he becomes fascinated with her. He was initially very strict with her but then began to be softer and more tolerant. Her actions, her work ethic, her mindset, etc. made him fall for her. It gives the readers a realistic sense of time especially with the personality setting of the ML.

BUT.

I don't know why but I felt that the romance felt a little lacking, especially when ML was still in the stage of crushing on MC. The author gave out some clues but it still felt a little out of the blue to me.

Still, the ML is a fairly cute guy; a "love brain" as his friend said. Very ideal.

Aside from that, the side characters were actually pretty good. But they were really more about adding humor to the story than anything else. I do like the fans of the MC though, they're hilarious.

There's also the fact that MC transmigrating into a book wasn't even relevant. It was hardly mentioned at all. MC's progression towards fame was also really smooth, unnaturally so, (minor spoilers: in terms of acting skills, you'll only ever get mentions of her graduating from a famous acting school and her being amazing with acting and not much else, mind you.) but the author wrote it in a way that's not annoying and rather enjoyable.

Not a perfect WN in any way but a very good read nonetheless.

After the first chapter I couldn't wait for the next one. Had to mtl this story!!

Recommended for those who wanna read a light hearted story & have a good laugh. The comedy in this story is super, all those unexpected s*upid cute things that the MC does. 😂

The premise is interesting and the story is light-hearted. If you were someone who enjoys relatively drama-free story, you could consider this. However, I'm not sure if it was due to author's writing or the translation, I have a hard time enjoying it when I had to force myself to understand what is written. It's almost nonsensical that I need to figure it out to fully enjoy it, nevertheless, it's still understandable if you only care about the plot. I can't stand it past chapter 7 although I know it... more>> has potential.

Initially my thought was it would be good story, however half of the time I spent reading netizens comments and what not. Not gonna lie the story has potential since the beginning as many scenes also had me giggling or nodding here and there. But as the story progressed it became too dull for me to like or stay connected with the MC as I had started this story in the first place because of it's unique storyline despite having an entertainment career line put on. Yet, I got really... more>> bored and started getting disconnected with the story as MC had too much of smooth sailing and very lucky at every turn. I agree and understand fully that this novel is based on entertainment industry but what was the need to fill with very unnecessary and re-written scenes which was supposed to be funny through everyone perspective. Even the face slapping part also seem very bland to me. Oh and of course author reminder to the readers at every turn of page about ethereal beauty that only our MC possessed. <<less

Her new boss came with no information about his background, coming like the lucky star for FL where she finally gets success after so many years of only being a vase, especially that she deserved it with the attitude she went in this industry for an unknown reason if she was just nameless. Does she like this job? The answer is no, what she does like is money, but it's like she has "only this job", after all the plot will make most of the effort and FL will get the benefits of being "lucky".

No details about her past life, what she likes, and where they live: China, South Korea, Japan hmm gotta guess.

Don't recommend it, I'm out.

OMG 🤣 This is like a hidden gem buried underneath all modern transmigration Chinese novel.

It is TOO funny, tho the translation is not up to date but even reading the mtl version can make me laugh so hard 😂😂

MC is not op, no cheats, no golden finger. She is just a "my pace pretty side character in a novel"

I don't regret reading this even if it's mtl. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

A very adorable story.

Quite honestly this is my cup of tea. As much as I enjoy the entertainment circle stories with goddess Fls and their rise alongside the constant face slapping of brain-dead characters, this kind of story here is something I enjoy more in comparison to the former. What I liked most is the attitude of the FL, possibly having remembered that she was an unnamed character living inside of a novel, her already unbothered character became even more carefree. Like her passerby character, she just wants to pass... more>> through her life and earn some money to be able to live without worries. She's someone who's actually passionate about acting (we slowly see that as the novel progresses) but it's not her fault that she's unable to get any sorts of roles

and so would rather stay with her company hoping to get resources than just quitting altogether.

She's someone who doesn't follow common sense, in the most endearing way, and with her koi luck she just manages to turn adversities (no fault of her own) into her gains, so in a way she OP with her amazing luck.

I really liked the progression of the story, as in most of the stories, the fls manage to get amazing roles after one or two arcs and wows her audience gaining immediate attention, here it's quite different as it's like climbing stairs step by step. She joins variety shows, acts as passerby characters, a comatose patient, a ghost and what not and if anything she becomes popular initially due to her hilarity of falling asleep during a long award show or her on screen and behind the scenes shenanigans as she's purely being herself. It's later on that she becomes popular for her acting as she gets more interesting roles.

The ML here isn't someone who waltz into the story with the ML written on him. He just changes from a side character to the ML as he falls for the FL and it's absolutely adorable if anything. Dear God how much I love sweet MLS who aren't cold emotionless machines like ffs give us more fluffy MLS now!! Our ML here is someone I pity like not only he takes over a sinking company, the artist's are just one weirder than the other, apart from the FL who gave him the most headache, poor guy had to take care of his artist's monkey having diarrhoea and burly men who cried surrounding him, he's also reduced from the president of the company to an agent and part time driver. He inadvertently gains the title of the genius marketing head after the fls gets into hot searches again and again with ridiculous reasons and he's just resigned to his fate. He's actually an introverted character but he's enthusiastic about reviving the company and takes care of all artists under him, and fights hard to get opportunities for the FL like an agent should. Although he has some connections, they were seldom used and he's not exactly an op character. As much as he's not a very expressive guy, he turns shades of red after being lightly teased by the FL (there's no ML chases FL first or vice versa, their relationship just progresses till a point where they both sort of realize, with the ML showing some of his feelings and the FL taking the initiative to further their relationship)

Td;lr - if you want a cute story of a lucky and lazy yet passionate FL furthering in her acting career with her own capabilities and a supposedly black hearted but actually adorable and sweet ML then you'd enjoy this story.

It’s a slice of life novel that was funny at first but then gradually lost its steam. Then it kind of just became a whole lot of nothing. The author was just narrating plot points instead of telling a story.

The translation is slightly better than machine translation, but it's still readable. I need to read few times to get what it means. I wish they would refine the paragraph a bit.

Btw,

The story is awesome. I like the humor and the way our FL is oblivious to her surroundings, kind of make sense. It really consistent with the way she brush things and cool about almost anything.

It's a light hearted novel, the FL is really easygoing and funny without trying. The romance is slow paced in the beginning, but it's quite sweet. The misunderstandings are easily resolved.

The first part of the novel it's more focused on the FL journey in variety shows and dramas. The FL is just so funny, I probably laughed in almost every chapter. Meanwhile, the second part is mored focused on the romance and the movies she works on.

The novel is hilarious!! I can't stop laughing at the fl, it's been a long time since I had read a full on comedy. The starting was really good, though in the middle it became a little bland as the chapters are really long and the novel has too much details that was boring to me, so I skipped a lot in the middle but skill I laughed too much and 5stars for that

This is one of those "x is super lucky" but in addition to the dense/cute MC being ditzy, they're a tad pessimistic. It's probably good if you're in the mood for that sort of thing. I'll probably finish it sometime later, probably when it's done being translated. I recommend giving you a shot. If you're in the mood for it, you'll know within the first few chapters

I will not rate this because I've only read 11 out of 120 chapters of the story. I have to drop this one because it's boring for me. The MC is a salted fish who turns into koi as the description says. Everything is too easy and just served on a platter. I get that it's slice of life, but really after 11 chapters there's not much substantial content even for a slice of life genre.

unexpectedly fall in love with the novel... very addicting and funny...I managed to binge read within 2 days, MTL all the way....

recommended for those who want to decompress after stressful days.. lightweight and more to comedy than romance 😉

The warm extras really made me forgive all the shortcomings of this story 😩🥺

I really want to complain about many things from this story, but this extra story, although it feels lacking, but it closes very warm and sweet 🥺🥺

Basically this is my sugar, sweet story, light conflict, face slapping, showbiz with funny variety show, ridiculous and super OP FL characters, but the very thin romance really tested my intentions 😭😩

120 chapters in total, but believe me they only got together and became lovers in chapter 90. Really, if it... more>> wasn't for the sweet last 30 chapters, I probably would have deducted a star from this story.

I don't know if it's a strength or a weakness, but FL and ML weren't involved in a 'romance' from the start, in the sense that, if it wasn't for some readers' comments and spoilers, I wouldn't even know that our ML was him in the end. 'Thin' is their romance, and 'thick' is the showbizz background of this story.

It's up to the reader, I enjoyed this story, but I don't think I'll read it a second time. <<less

This fic mostly comedy and let me tell you it really touched my funny bone, I can still feel the ache in my stomach from laughing too much. Reading this novel always makes my day better but my stomach in pain from laughing too much🤣. If you are looking for a great comedic story to read I completely recommend this one, If you are looking for romance don't expect too much from this one but the romance in this is good enough

It's not that long but why do I feel like I've spent quite a long time reading it? Anyway, it's a good one. A slow (slightly late) romance but it's really sweet. However, even before the romance bloom, the previous chapters were not boring because there's always something hilarious happening to the FL. Tbh, I thought that she'll just be a salted fish FL without much character in-depth. However, I was wrong. In fact, although she's indeed a Buddhist, she's hardworking when she has commitment, she's protect of her people,... more>> she sticks to her principles, but overall, she's really funny. As for the ML, I already know he's the ML when he appeared but I didn't expect that it'll take quite a long time before they give out sugar. I also quite like the duplicity of the color changing Mr. Sheng lol. As Mr. Sheng, he's meticulous, workaholic, serious, and very elite. But when he became Xiao Sheng, he's shy, likes to show off his wife, and so easy to coax. I really like their slow burn romance and their relationship.

Anyway, this story is very lighthearted, funny, and relaxing. There's no schemes or misunderstanding. If you often feel annoyed by some negative comments from extras (like me), then you'll like this more because just like I said, everything here are really realxed. It's not like there have never been some obstacles but the FL, aside from her weird luck, never really did anything wrong and she's easy to get along with so there's no black material to use.

Anyway, this story is very lighthearted, funny, and relaxing. There are no schemes or misunderstandings. If you often feel annoyed by some negative comments from extras (like me), then you'll like this more because just like I said, everything here is really relaxed. It's not like there have never been some obstacles but the FL, aside from her weird luck, never really did anything wrong and she's easy to get along with so there's no black material to use.

Overall, although I just read the MtL version, it didn't stop me from enjoying the funny and sweet scenes. And although I feel like the ending was kinda rushed (somehow), it's not like there's some loose threads. Maybe I'm just craving for some extra chapters? Anyway, 10/10. <<less
