At first I was curious, I though this was a novel about a smart villaines but it ended up as an instant genius (reading books in just 10 minutes? And she spend 10 hours everyday for reading? Are you crazy) and I understand that this is a book about fantasy and I love fantasy but it doesn't mean that you can make things go by mambo jumbo without cause and effect (the heroine got a fever at 102 degrees and stil breathing? And its just a "bit" hot????)

A mediocre premise propelled by a funny protagonist yet held back by poor writing.

If you're just looking for some lighthearted entertainment without thinking too much, this may be good enough.

The plot holes start from the author being bad at math and allowing her to read 100 books in a day but only 4000 in a year, go on to boys mysteriously falling in love with a seven year old, and proceed to railroading the story even though it was moving in the right direction without "help" anyway.

Overall it can still... more>> be an entertaining read at this point, but if you expect anything sophisticated whatsoever, look for a different novel. <<less

I seriously in love with this story. The story is great, the plot is consistent and it thickens too!

I love how logical the MC is criticizing how goodwill works with an intention to repay. MC is quite smart, she acts villianous when it matters and when it can be seen but acts nice whenever she isn't with anyone.

Spoiler

Many criticize her actions as a kid who throws tantrums everywhere she goes, but her logic to whenever she does it seems to make sense to me. She was about to be an outcast from the start that was her goal, if she changes character in the middle of the school year I hardly believe that anyone would be convinced.

Alright this a 4 stars for me. Its a pretty fun read if you like those isekai otome game novels. I enjoyed the slight twist where the villaness wants to be an actual villain. Most of the novels like this try to be a good person to avoid their death flags. She does her thing and gets pretty op but I mean that's to be expected from most isekais.

However, one thing really gets to me about this novel and its a spoiler so be warned.

Its the god damn 5 noble families. One of the families is the royal family and the 4 other ones are like high ranking nobles such as a Duke. They are bloody heartless people. Just because one girl is the Saintess (Heroine) which means oh so much to the kingdom, they plan to use a 12-year-old girl (MC) as a sacrifice. Like besides the father of the MC, the rest should not have ever had kids. They literally plan to use the MC to make the saint a better women. The MC would very likely be discarded by the end. The plan is to make the MC be a villain to the saint so she shapes into a stronger women. The MC is not allowed to tell anyone that she was tasked with this and was pretty much told to be hated by everyone. This is not what you do to a 15 year old (when she attends school). Imagine isolating a girl with hatred of everyone just because she was told to be hated. I dont care if its for the plot or something but those 4 other families should not have had kids. They had nearly no regard to her feelings at all. Honestly speaking, why not use one of their own kids if that was the plan. The other kids were older and attended the school at the same time as the saint. It would seem effective to me then only giving the MC 1 year to bully the saint.

Sweet Lord, this thing is giving me a sugar rush. ? But now I’m saddened by the fact ~> the story will darken and I’ll lose my precious, naive baby, Alicia. ? Thanks a bunch, ch235 readers! ? Sure, she might not die, but my sweet tooth will break when the atmosphere shifts from fluffy to serious ??.

DON’T TAKE MEH BABEH AWAY FROM MEH! ??☠️ *Ahem* Anyway, this has still been an amazing story so far. It hits me with just the right amount of sugar to fill me with endorphins.... more>> The characters have not been fully fleshed out and more “side characters” seem to pop out from nowhere, but the world building is concrete and the plot is sound. Again, I only read for my daily hit, but everyone could use some sweetness to their usual cup of tea. ? <<less

The story is pretty interesting and most of the characters are fine, I know a lot of people are complaining about the heroine's braindead followers but for the most part they just serve as set dressing for the sake of the MC, which I don't mind.

What I absolutely hate though is the romance in this story. I can excuse the actual pe*ophilia and kinda r*pey ML because that's pretty standard fare for a shoujo romance, but the romance is totally out of nowhere and completely derails the story, and the... more>> cool, powerful, intelligent MC just becomes a bumbling idiot as soon as the ML starts "teasing" her. And then the second ML gets introduced and the power dynamic with him is somehow even worse than just a five year age-gap with royalty. He pretty much owns her. And on top of that he's even more sadistic and short-tempered than the already brooding and capricious first ML. I'm dropping the story this chapter because

Spoiler

he literally forces the MC sleep in his bed, and it's not even the first time a man has forced her to do this. I thinks it's very obviously some of the author's fetish leaking into their writing.

So if you just want to see a cool, badass, intelligent MC becoming a villainess then drop this story around chapter 100, before the romance starts picking up. <<less

Its well translated, and I know its meant to be comedy or parody or whatever, but there is a limit to just how nonsensical a story can be. The main character is someone who wants to be a villainess because that's the sort of character she likes. So she goes out and becomes incredibly skilled at various things. But then the nobles of the kingdom find out about it and ask her to "guide" the saintess, who is also extremely smart but perhaps a bit naive due to being a... more>> commoner at an aristocratic school. How does our protagonist go about this? By being openly hostile to her and everyone she meets, and then feeling giddy when that results in everyone hating her. It makes no sense if the purpose was to guide someone. Its especially nonsensical when the protagonist is supposed to be extremely wise. There are similar stories in this vein such as "I"m the evil lord of an intergalactic empire" which do it much better without seeming so nonsensical. The misunderstanding and coincidences are fine, but its the whole rationale behind the plot that makes the story seem so pointless because of how s*upid it is. <<less

Although the MC have some screws loose in her brains, she is quite the interesting character... a really hard working protagonist that despite already reaching the peak, she still continued to do her best to improve and not stopping to reach her questionable goal of becoming the most evil (lol) the most hated (funny) the most notorious (not in the way she think of) Villainess she could ever be.

I liked it at first, because it was alright for the typical villainess-turned-actual-heroine trope. She's trying to become a villainess, and people end up liking her because she's cute, determined, hardworking, whatever. But recently I don't know what it is, maybe the writing style has always been this way? But it's become quite difficult to read without cringing. There's a lot of Alicia's thoughts, which is fine, but too many words are getting bolded or highlighted to add emphasis, and the dialogue and scenarios read like a Wattpad story written... more>> by a 13 year old. I'm gonna keep reading when I'm bored, but I'm honestly disappointed. I feel like there was a lot of potential, but after she

When I started reading this as a manga I was distraught at the lack of chapters, then I found it was from a light novel! Absolutely a fun read, it’s super fluffy and the MC’s character growth can warm your cold dead heart.

I personally can't really review the story so far cause I only read a tiny bit of the story.

So..I'm going to rant about how I love the MC's character. I personally love selfish characters. Really love it. They're so confident and pompous and unique and I love it. I hate those characters where they're way too nice and everything is easy for her. I loathe those things.

But I must say that the most important part is for the author to develop the character tho, so I really hope they don't... more>> ruin her. <<less

Chapter 320

She must have been in a lot of pain because she had been suppressing so many emotions for so long. The saint never showed her hatred. She could only keep her bad feelings bottled up inside her heart.

"Many people love me, but no man ever looks at me, and now they say Alicia might have died because of me! I am an ordinary baker's daughter! I didn't know anything about the aristocratic world. No one told me what they do!"

... more>> "Liz, I'm sorry."

I have seen s*upid light novel before but this one really refreshed my most hated light novel list. The saint is forgiven even though she indirectly send the MC to exile. Of course MC will survive, but if she is just normal little girl do they think she is still alive. The main lead should have hated the saint to boot, he should not say sorry or felt sorry to someone that almost kill his beloved women. So s*upid. Do you think anyone will be forgiven just because they do not now thoe the world works. <<less

I don’t remember what chapter I dropped this on, but holy f*ck is it annoying. Up to where I read it, there are 3 types of people.

1. Those who have brains and aren’t ret*rdedly idealistic and ‘selfless’.

2. The people who have brains yet support party 3 because of their status.

3. Party 3. ‘Selfless’ was put in quotes because of this group. Their idea of selfless is to help others for absolutely nothing. Oh someone wants to kill you? Kill yourself and save them the trouble of doing so. Some country... more>> is completely broke because they passed idiotic economic laws? Repay their debts for absolutely nothing. No monetary benefits, not assimilating the country into your own, no alliance, just helping them for no reason like how you’d help your mom to bring the groceries in the house.

It sucks ass. And apparently, Rising of Shield Hero has even worse characters than whatever the f*cks in group 3 are. Just makes me relieve that I never watched that, because at the time of reading this, I really felt my killing intent being cultivated without even killing. I’ll kindly protect your sanity and advise you not to read this. <<less

I think this story is quite interesting. Alicia's personality has me constantly smiling, and her interactions with the other characters are great as well. I was worried if she had what it took to be a proper villainess, but she manages just fine on the surface. The problems mainly start after she enrolls in the academy. 80% of the male characters become completely hostile towards her and are practically brain dead. The main heroine's philosophy is extremely naive, and she doesn't appear to learn anything from any of the encounters... more>> she has with Alicia. Alicia herself shows no signs of character development outside of the very, very weird romance with Duke. Her desire to be a villainess is so strong that she would willingly burn everything to the ground, including the people close to her. I have yet to learn a single reason behind her burning desire besides, "it's cool, so I want to do it." I refuse to believe that the entire reason for her realistic thought process and lack of interest in her family's feelings is that she thinks it's cool.

Spoiler

Her father asked her to stop monitoring the heroine because he worried for her safety after the kidnapping incident. She disregards all his worrying and insists that "she must finish what she started." That leads her to go through 2 years of solitude and fracturing her family in the process. Another instance is with the whole exiled thing. Just so she could be known as the first person in decades to be exiled, she ignored Gilles's feelings and could have said, "f*ck off."

[collapse]

Another problem is the romance. The romance between the main heroine and male characters is just terrible. They lose all semblance of their original personalities and become braindead freaks that do nothing but spout slander towards Alicia, and praise for the heroine. They never even question why Alicia had such a drastic change in character within so little time.
The problem with Duke x Alicia is the age gap. It's seriously gross. 5 years. A 5-year age gap is just too large. When she was 7/8 and he was 12/13, I could handle it... barely. But when she was 13 and he was 18, I hated every time he appeared. It was so creepy and off-putting. Now that she's 15 and he's 20, the situation is a little bit better though. At the same time, the romance feels extremely forced for no apparent reason.

My third problem is worldbuilding. I haven't the faintest clue as to what this world's geography looks like. I can't tell if everything is going on within the same city or if they live in different regions. There's also a major issue with the magic system. All that is known is that commoners can't use magic, there are levels to magic, and if you skip any of those levels you can lose your ability to use magic. The issue is that there is no other explanation for magic. It's unknown if there's only one spell per level, or multiple. It's unknown how one advances these magic levels. It's unknown if magic can be used limitlessly or if there is an element that restricts it's usage. There are too many uncertainties about magic, and it's simply become a convenient tool for the story.

Overall, 3/5 story. Get rid of the romance and give a proper reason to Alicia's desire, and it'll easily be 5/5. <<less

It's a fun read for the most part. I got hooked by her personality. Honestly this story would have been better without the romance. The romance is not only creepy but feels forced and was put there for the sake of having a romance tag. It almost makes me want to drop it. Actually I dropped this novel before I just don't remember why. I'm currently re reading this (around chapter 97 rn) so I'll update this comment on a later date. Overall there are parts of this novel that... more>> makes me want to read it at the same time there are parts that make some want to drop it.

For all its flaws my favorite characters in here are the Arnold (MC's father) and Grandpa Will. They are the most sane, reasonable, and relatable characters in here

So the weird thing about this is the ages of the MC and ML. The ML kisses the MC when she is 10 and he is 15. Also, he likes her since she's like 7 or something. This is so weird to me. The rest of the story is pretty good. The plot is very eventful and the real villain in this story, the saint" is pretty intense, and the MC becomes interesting in order to catch up with her. Basically being a Mary Sue is just the first step... more>> in catching up to the Saint. A lot of things that other people complain about are needed for the plot.

Spoiler

For instance, someone thinks that some of the other characters have dissasociative disorder with how irregular their behavior is, but that's because they do and the Saint causes that with her magic. There is also someone complaining the female lead is op, and this is a girl vs god type of book, and with all her op-ness she is actually barely strong enough.

Japanese isekai villainness stories are so standardised, they could all get the same ISO.

What made one better than the other would be the plot.

This one falls riight into ISO905000, (OP FL, super naive, trying her hardest to become the best villainess but she becomes super protagonist instead), thus it gets old. FL reminds me of Bertia (lol, at least bertia is not OP).

The first person narration is so tiring, and how come she is from a noble family, close enough to be granted audience by the king, yet dresses... more>> herself & picks her own accessories on her own (she was woken up by a maid, so where did this maid run off to after waking her up?), furthermore, staying for 10 hours in library without seeing any soul??? i really like this novel thus far;

the lead isn’t ditzy and helpless and is actually quite intelligent, wise, strong and charismatic. All in all she’s a strong lead. My only concern is that I think she still thinks of the others as mere “otome game characters” or such, and that they will only follow the plot of the otome game- meaning this is probably what goes through her head; “they can’t possibly fall in love with me bc that’s not how it’s supposed to be”. She is intelligent but is... more>> dense when it comes to things like love as well as people opinions on her (all the opinions thus far that other characters have had about her are all positive btw but she thinks her actions make her look “bad” “evil” “like a villainess”) . She thinks she’s acting like a “perfect villainess” but in reality is doing good deeds and treating people kindly and such which isn’t usually villainess-like. <<less

There is a fine line between brilliant and crazy. I think the characters in this novel embody this.

The main character shows classic symptoms of ADHD, making her very relatable to me since I do too. She’s extremely focused and detailed and exceptional on certain things- but tends to ignore or completely skip over other details, making her erratically brilliant but still very human.

The plot itself seems rather cliche but has a tendency to digress into deep philosophical questions at the top of a hat. Should society be purely meritocratic? Is... more>> a system that relies on human kindness inherently unstable? In the spectrum of idealism versus cold-hearted practicality, where should we draw the line?

You’ll like this story if: you hate naive, idealistic heroines with no practical ideas; you enjoy hardworking, OP characters that are erratically brilliant; and if you aren’t bothered by the fact that the male lead fell in love with a girl a lot younger than him and the original story had the antagonist be more than three years younger than the original protagonist group. (Which in some ways proves her original point that the heroine is s*upid) <<less
