I can't deal with this.

  1. The main character doesn't look "younger than he is". He's not a thirty-year-old man who looks like he's 24. He's a college-age boy who looks like a kid in his freshman year of middle school. Do you know how absurd that is?
  2. The main character acts mature when it interests him. He can manage his own farm and maintain a productive work and play schedule without ever straying from the right path. He, who is not qualified for any job, not even part-time, by defining himself as a fool, takes the leadership of two older men to teach them how to manage a restaurant, provides daily agricultural supplies for the bussines and takes care of some abandoned children from a nearby farm. But he insists that he is s*upid and weak, because then the author can maintain the illusion that we are reading about a ten-year-old boy.
  3. The main character acts like he has a brain deficiency when it suits him. He illustrates to the locals about edible foods, ways of cooking, and even teaches them to make jewelry that no one in that world had ever thought of (Earrings? What primitive society would think of piercing the skin for adornment ?! We do it in 21st century because we are civilized). But when he meets a nobleman on the street, he not only does not know the meaning of "prostration", but also dares to ask the authority what it is for and if he really needs the commoners to show him respect. Because any human being in this world of ours is incapable of understanding what prostration is. No one thinks that if he is in a medieval world and meets a soldier who orders him to kneel, he should obey so as not to be executed under the strict laws of the hierarchical medieval society.
  4. I am unable to see what is interesting about the protagonist. He doesn't seem smart to me, he doesn't seem funny to me. I don't think he's curious or that he wants to do something interesting with his life. It is a worldly existence maintaining a worldly life.
  5. I am unable to see what is interesting about the partner of the protagonist. He is a walking armor that does not stand out at all. I don't know about his tastes. I don't know about his interests. I don't know what he want to do with his life. I don't know what he see in the protagonist (Unless all his incentive is that he can legally touch a child)
  6. I cannot dedicate an hour of my life just to read how the protagonist takes the eggs, cracks the eggs, beat the eggs, to make an omelette.
  7. Why does the author bother to explain every step of the omelette-making process to me, but can't explain every step of the process in falling in love with a stranger? Is making omelettes really that fascinating? Is it really that a straight man falling in love with a giant man is something so irrelevant?

I dont understand the review of Sakka.

I was in my 4th year of college (20) and often get mistaken as a grade 9 or 10 student at that time. I really didnt mind as I know im tiny. A lot of asian people are like this.

They totally misunderstood the s*upid part. It was expressed that he thinks he's dumb when it come to academics thus leaving him to worry for his profession. But s*upid people are not without abilities. What this person is describing is not s*upid but is "invalid"... more>> or a "vegetable" in other words.

They cant find interest on the MC not because he's extremely boring but they just dont like slice of life stories in general. How could I say so? This person is questioning why the elaborate cooking of omelets in a slice of life novel/farming/rasing animals. This things are the staple of a slice of life. This is just weird...

Now heres the weirdest part of them all. If they just went and looked at the raws, the later parts of the novel will have a POV of the ML from when he first saw our MC and how he fell inlove. They refused to dedicate an hour to read this novel but was able to write an essay to prove they're s*upid. A quick 10 second search on this and they'll find this out. This is just bizarre.

Anyway the story isnt without a hole. Infact there's tons of them, but for a quick read and a thirst for a slow life slow burn novel. This one is fine. <<less

Great so far

Dont know why people are complaining about how the author described step-by-step how he makes a omelette when he literally LIVES ON A FARM. A lot of farm related books I've read include cooking so I don't know what people expected??

It is a slow romance, and another thing to add -

People are also annoyed that he is described as looking young for his age, but if you look at the cover, you can see that compared to the dude he is short, because people in the new world... more>> are a lot taller than him, so to them he looks like a kid basically.

But it has so many wholesome moments, especially with his farm animals :D <<less

Cute and fluffy but I couldn't help but scrunch my eyebrows at some of the plot holes and lack of description regarding the gate.

The novel is... okay? Except for me disliking first person perspectives because I don't like reading the same chapter/event but different perspective, the author did alright with world building.

There's always that weird sense of vagueness in Japanese novels but at least the reader knows their world is backward, magic, ect fantasy type thing.

I would have liked more detail of the world considering Shinobu is now stuck there... more>> because of the lack of communication, but the story focuses on his farming and struggles to overcome his loneliness hence making this an "alright" story for me in regards to the world building.

As for the relationship with the leads, its cute. The author did nicely on how they thought of each other which eventually lead to love.

As for the side characters, I thought the relationship building was okay. I loved how Shinobu helped everyone, a big part of his characterization, but there was another plothole:
Spoiler

being amazed by new foods is normal and all considering their world, but they can't be that backward can they? They don't know what marriage is and some don't even know they can eat octopus. It doesn't really make sense considering people eat worse looking monsters that are edible.

Additionally, they live for a long time so I found it hard to believe they didn't create new inventions

[collapse]

That aside, the story of Shinobu was cute but albeit unsatisfactory.

A nice read but definitely not the best. Its a nice past time but you won't miss out if you don't read it.

3/5

honestly, I wasn't expecting much when I first read the title. I thought that it was just another isekai novel, and I honestly came for the smut. well, my thoughts quickly changed when I realized how beautiful and healing this novel is. I didnt even care for the smut anymore.

when you read, it feels like you can relate to shinobu's (MC) feelings. the despair, jealousy, romance, happiness, they get transmitted to you like you are the one experiencing it. kudos to the author for making me cry for hours on... more>> end when I finally reached the ending. it was really, very, too beautiful! the ending already got me bawling, not to mention the extras. happy tears of course. now I dont know when i'll move on from this beautiful novel. sigh. my eyelids are swollen and I have to go to work but here I am leaving reviews. anyways. please give it a chance and read it!

Spoiler

the ending is actually bittersweet. in the end, even after 800 years after the gate closed, there's still no sign of it opening again. but shinobu has accepted that in his own way, hoping that his feelings would reach his loved ones in the other world somehow. its also very heartwarming how we can see shinobu's friends' point of view in the other world and how they deal with the disappearance of shinobu. well, shinobu is living happily with mr. krish, so... im very happy for him.

I enjoyed and loved this story. (^ω^)I already read the mtl because of my excitement. ヘ ( ̄ω ̄ヘ) Despite the unfortunate events that happened to MC in his former world, he experienced a relaxing and happy life in the new world. The story is light, relaxing, full of fluff esp MC's pets. ♡´・ᴗ・`♡ There is not much conflict conflict bet the characters and there was an interesting plot twists that made the story more enjoyable. This novel is amazing! The feelings of Shinobu are so vividly written that you start crying. As if he had experienced these emotions himself.

It is a pity that the translation has stopped for now. I was looking for a sequel on the Internet, but everything is odd. Can someone help me?? The novel is completed. But I can't even find the original. So, please... I need some help

A nice read if you're looking for something slow and laid-back.

The story builds up slowly and I'm still not sure who the ML is but reading about the MC's new life and his interactions with the other characters is pretty enjoyable in the meanwhile. The world building is lacking but it's enough to build on.

My main complaint is the amount of plot holes and immersion breakers this story has.

Spoiler

Like, I imagine the author intended the technology in the other world to at least be on par with the middle ages but they don't know how to make butter? Or cure meat? Or that humans can eat rice? Personally it just doesn't make sense.

Or the fact that gates to other worlds exists and it ain't front-page news? Or at least has more interest surrounding it? Like, I had a hard time believing that the MC is the only, much less the first otherworlder living in Agram. I'm not expecting much but an otherworlder-run government building like an embassy would've made more sense. Maybe I'm just too nitpicky idk

[collapse]

Overall a nice, slow slice of life farming story. Enjoyable if you're open to take things at face value and not question things too much. Kinda meh but I'm still looking forward to how the story plays out. <<less

MC has severe trauma of deprivation of affection due to his absolutely irresponsible parents. Yes. PARENTS. Both neglected him, made him their reason for their lives being an sh*tty when they didn't even try to care for him. MC improves so much in terms of his trauma after meeting ML, being loved, meeting all the new friends in the otherworld and even the ML's parents who approves them.

The other world's story climaxes around chapter 90+ and honestly.... it was so nerve-wrecking and amazing. You can see the ML's love for the MC when, I quote his line -

"If... IF I am forced to choose between Shinobu or *spoiler stuff here*.... I will definitely choose Shinobu.

Even if I were resented by everyone in this whole world, even if it goes against Shinobu's own wish, I will use this sword on my waist and *read the raw of the using story using MTL to know the spoiler here*."

I look up at the *spoiler* illuminated by the moonlight and begged in my heart - Please return Shinobu to me. Please, don't let me kill you (to get Shinobu back).

ML is the absolute gentleman. He doesn't force s*x on MC and only penetrates at chapter 122... this novel only has 132 chapters. Slow life, slow and steady loving.

MC and ML has the sweetest love ever. They get rid of misunderstandings early on so you will see how they work hard on their love life - not giving up despite girls trying to go after ML, despite people thinking MC is the ML's younger brother or relative's kid because of how baby-faced and midget he is.

You will see how MC gradually realises his love for ML especially after all the times he is saved, whether from danger or just from loneliness by ML. You will also ML's point of view and how he also gradually loves MC and desperately wants to always see how the MC is well.

This couple also lived and loved each other until the very end till they were old men.

How to read this story beyong what's already properly translated: search the JAPANESE TITLE of this story and you will be led to the author's officially posted chapters. Using your phone will be easier as you have the google translate option directly on the website. Beyong that: time to use your brain power to read. <<less

This novel is like a slice of swiss cheese. Thin and full of hole 😅 (but still enjoyable).

They might as well put a shota tag on this one. The author just want to make a legalize shota MC. He look and act like a 10 years old, and the constant reminder that he is small is kinda annoying tbh. We get it, he's smoll, stop, pls.

I enjoyed the first half of the novel. In the middle.. Eeh, not so much.. Because the plot hole and inconsistencies are piling up and... more>> makes you wonder "but that doesn't make sense".

Still, I'll give this novel a try and not drop it in the middle because I'm already in too deep. Might edit my review later. <<less

I'm so glad to see this story being translated. It's one of my favorites!

Not too much complicated conflicts/twists, story pacing is definitely okay, and the fluff is too good. 💖

I don’t understand the bad reviews, it’s a light hearted novel for those who just want to relax and have a calming, healing experience.

I highly recommend this novel to those who like, farming, cute animals and food. Also I adore the chemistry between the small cute MC, who is slowly learning to trust and rely on others for help, as well as the Reliable ML who seems cold at first, but warms up the MC pretty quickly.

10/10 ignore the bad reviews, please give it a try!

MC is too good for this world. I feel like even though not done maliciously, the people have been taking advantage of his kindness and innocence, and that makes me want to protect and teach him a little (very needed) awareness that may be useful for him in the future. Fortunately, the people surrounding him are all nice people, so he's very lucky.

This is one of my favorites. I love the concept, the description and the balance of the story. The romance is slow faced but I like how it grows better and better each time. And I just want to spoil the best and most romantic moment for me in this novel where the cherry blossom like lights when they went out during (I think a festival), that really made me smile and wonder how that looks when animated. I just hope the translation will be at least continues, it was... more>> really depressing to wait a month or two with someone to pick it up out of good heart. <<less
