Translator here. The attitude you need to put in with this web novel is, "but it’s cute so I’ll excuse it."

By most commonly accepted standards, this is not a good novel. Even though it's very blatantly a parody of Mary Sues, plot devices whipped out whenever it's convenient, and a whole lot of intentionally one-dimensional characters, I still can't say that this story is good on measures of having a strong cast, interesting events, or a plot that is clearly driven by the motivations of a protagonist.

It is, however, damned... more>> funny.

This is not a genius piece of subversion like Destruction Flag Otome is. It attempts to parody and lampoon the otome game genre and its many cliches, but though it hits in most places and had me laughing, you really need to have an investment in some key non-negotiable element to keep on reading--in my case, that was the Mary Sue protagonist and her adorable girlfriend plus all their cute gay shenanigans.

So again, I had a great time. I love this novel. But it's very flawed, mostly because its protagonist is intentionally lacking in them.

If this wasn't yuri I would say it's worth 1 or 2 stars.

+1 star for being yuri.

+2 stars for the translator not taking 173 years to translate a quarter of the story while complaining about how hard it is to translate at a mind boggling pace of 52 words per day.

Don't hate me for saying that. I'm one of the heathens who think webnovel is a good thing as at least we get to see the ending in our lifetime even if they take more money.

Honestly? Pure, enjoyable silly tr*sh. It’s a very short web novel - web novella is more accurate, honestly - about a girl who realizes she’s been reincarnated as the villainess in a dating sim. Desperate to not end up dead, as her character does in every Good Ending in the original, she tries to mastermind every possibility of her dying out of existence, and ends up accidentally making almost every character fall for her, including the heroine!

It’s not even slightly a novel to take seriously.

Most of the characters are there... more>> to be silly, the conflicts are overcome very easily, it’s just a nonsense fluffy comedic little thing. This isn’t high brow literature by a long shot, but it was a giggle to read. <<less

It’s not to my taste, honestly the only pro I could really muster up is that it’s a yuri story and that it was short. It’s a pretty simple story, typical reborn as villainess and she proceeds to try to avoid bad end by killing of scenarios. The problem for me is simply that it’s a really really shallow story with skin deep characterization and plot moving at 100 mph. I wont say it’s tr*sh but it’s definitely something you need to be in the mood for, and if you... more>> want a quick villainess story with yuri goodness, give it a shot. <<less

So,

Wow, I have recently gone into novels tagged Yuri to see if there was anything good. Currently working through those and this was disappointing. I enjoy shorter novel for their ease to follow, not one chapter every day for 5 years, and when done right those moments of depth which brings it together. This one failed to create anything other than amusement and a suspension of thought. Started out with a couple heavier ideas/difficulties for the MC which were quickly and easily taken care of in the first couple... more>> chapters...... completely destroying the set up. It then turns into a comedic romp for the majority of chapters with no real character "development" (hesitate to use this since you cannot develop that which is not there.)

Don't even get me started on the characters. Just so one-dimensional or even just one factoid was enough apparently.

Ending turned into a semi-serious (but not really) ending that almost offended me because it used something that other, more serious and better written, novels have done.

Only reason it got a 2 was cause I was slightly amused by the s*upidity/inaneness. <<less

So fluff! The moments between MC and FL are heartwarming :) There's even an extra chapter with both of them ;) The pace of this story was so fast that I wish there was more! I even loved the concept of the magic in the otome game.

Spoiler

The villainess (MC) is sooooo OP though, like when she won 2 magic tournaments with no effort, but there was a tag with overpowered protag, so it's to be expected

[collapse]

I like that the MC is smart with her plans and decisive. Just goes to show that she stands up for herself when there are bad flags for her.

Spoiler

In a chapter, she confronted the heroine to be her friend, and so she speaks out a threat to everyone who was spying on both the MC and FL to solve the bullying that was on the FL. She even trampled the prince XD She got social exile because of that lol.

At first it was all good and fresh, but by the time it advances, the plot is moving way too fast. It stated as yuri but then there's so much annoying male character, it was intended to be funny I think, but and the more chaper I read, the more repetitive and bland the joke is.

Sweet sweet and sweet MC and FL.

MC is reincarnated as villainess, and she accidentally triggered heroine's route, the plot.

A fast-paced, nonsensical, yet strangely entertaining story.

Premise:

The MC is your typical otome villainess transmigrator. The overarching joke is that the world is still running on otome game tropes, and she accidentally creates a route for herself, and the original heroine effectively immediately falls for her and starts pursuing her.

... more>> Characters:

All the characters are simultaneously over-the-top and one note. The MC is pretty much a Sue, which she herself also repeatedly references.

Plot:

MC tries to avoid the death flags, makes the heroine fall for her instead, becomes super popular, and then she ends up as a legendary queen. In between those stages, there's a lot of amusing, cute, and cringy scenes paced incredibly fast, leaving very little time for building tension or world building. Overall:

On a technical and a narrative level, this story is a mess. However, as a short, light heated read, it's still pretty decent. I would only recommend it to people who are looking for some brainless, lighthearted fun, otherwise it's pretty meh. <<less

Quite short, so not many spoilers to say -

Each chapter sounds like a condensed summary of what would've been a longer and explorative story. I believe the intention was a fluffy, short shoujo-ai novel set in an otome game world - which, to be fair, it did technically succeed. It might've been better if the author disregarded all attempts at world building/trying to give side characters two seconds of spotlight (since they didn't even matter) and instead focused only on the protagonist and female lead, but instead we get this... more>> almost incomplete-feeling novel.

Not great, though not bad. You can definitely find better. But as the translator says, "it's cute, so I'll excuse it." <<less

It’s a good short read with MC and FL getting together at the end.

I think it’s a good breather for reading between more drama themed novels

Fun, kinda dumb, and doesn't overstay it's welcome. The chapters are short so you can read the whole thing in an afternoon.

The writing is not great and don't expect anything particularly deep. But it is a good time.

I picked this up a while ago around when it was translated, got a broken next chapter link (it's still there btw), and then forgot about it until accidentally finding it again (and only realised I had already read it at the same chapter I stopped at). It's a mess. It's a horrible, s*upid, badly paced mess.

And I loved it.

It's not amazing, it doesn't have the best flow, the pacing is ridiculous, and there's some hinted world building that either was never brought up again or I just read too... more>> much into it.

But it's outrageously dumb and it doesn't try to be anything else.

There really isn't anything else much to say. If you want a short read that's a dumb mess of a story with a Yuri ending maybe give it ago, just don't take it seriously.

4/5★ I thoroughly enjoyed this mess. <<less

OK. This is like drinking raw syrup without diluting it in water.

It's still really sweet, but maybe a tad too much.

3 paragraph in this would be a whole chapter or two of another novel. That's why there are 14 chapters, you get the amount of content that would fit in 50 to 100 chapters of another novel.

No real description of how characters look, not even their hair color, nothing about the world really, this is kinda what you would write if you where making a storyboard for a movie, and... more>> used that as a novel on the side.

Well I still liked it for Yuri, kinda sick of dramatic tragedy Yuri stories so something like this is quite healing after waiting 50 chapters for both love interest to touch hands in my latest Yuri novel. <<less

, the story takes this serious event and manages to make it funny

i can imagine the author sitting down planning to make a dark novel thinking of all of the events and after one chapter giving up on it after 3 months re-writing it with a different mood in the end making this <<less
