Description

Links are NOT allowed. Format your description nicely so people can easily read them. Please use proper spacing and paragraphs.

I, Zechs Levit y San Foranada, have a younger sister. Her name is Caroline, and she is a very lovely girl with beautiful blond hair and red eyes. It’s no exaggeration to say that she’s the cutest girl in the world, and her smile can be described as that of an angel.

Despite the fact that I can’t get enough of her cuteness, my little sister is doomed to die.

This world is similar to a game in my previous life called “Tōzai no Isamu Sei-ki,” in which Caroline appears in the game as a rival—A villainess—of the main character, who’s a Saint. And as a result, she dies brutally on every route.

My beloved sister is going to die?

I can’t allow such an unreasonable future to happen!

That’s why I decided to resist fate.

I will raise my little sister in a pure and righteous manner, and I will forcefully overcome the numerous death flags.

Believing that there’s a bright future ahead for me and Caroline.

This is the story of me, who became the strongest to protect my sister, Caroline, the cutest little sister in the world.

Absolutely stunning. I thought this novel was a joke at first, but after I read all six volumes in just a week because the writing is just that addicting, I took those thoughts straight to tr*sh bin.

The story is exactly what the title and synopsis tell you. The MC goes to great lengths to protect not only his sister but also his whole fief and family. A total madlad. The characters are awesome. The MC is an absolute boss when he confronts the holy royal family. The characters' development is... more>> good; even after the time-skip six years later, they don't lose their shine; they feel pretty alive.

The world building is amazing; although there is not much explanation about the geography like other novels usually do, the magic system in this one is what I can call amazing. The author actually goes out of his way to properly tinker with how the world works. The power the MC had gained after long training and hard work is what anyone could call a cheat, but that's only after the story has entered the school arc. The harem is also nice; FL or heroines don't fall in love with MC with one easy move; there is an actual legit reasoning exist unlike other harem novels. The nice pacing and progress between them and the MC complement the story even more. This deserves more than 5/5.

What a well-spent time reading! Even better is that the author is not a cheapskate at releasing chapters, which makes it even more great knowing I have one new chapter to read every day. This series is just awesome. (And for once, the MC is not such a dense protagonist, and even more amazing is that he is an actual chad in later volumes; good job you twintail tsundere Minerva, I'm so proud of you.) <<less

For me this story is "Above Average"

MC not Dense, but not exceed hand-holding & kissing, well they're still teenager so it's okay

Spoiler

MC promise to accept their love after graduate

[collapse]

If you don't like !nc3st, you probably should stop now

Spoiler

volume 7 MC already think to accept his biological sister love & want to marry her in the future

The good side is, he is a reincarnator and known that his sister now is villain character in his past game he played, and their parent is more or less appear 2 times within 7 volume. Yeah, shitty parents

[collapse]

The Harem is really good, have distinct character, not all of them fell in love at first sight / quickly like most story

I thought vol 7 is the end but it just a start of the truth of the world

Even though he know what would happen in the future because he already played the game, is not all according to keikaku & he don't know all the truth of the world cuz what he played is "Hero" & "Saint" that just have the purpose to seal the Demon Lord

Edit: chapter 327

Bruh MC in favor for hom*s*xual

Spoiler

MC step brother confess his feeling to him and he didn't immediately reject him, but maybe thinking of accepting him

I'll see if MC really accept or not then rage quit

It's a pretty standard plot with the only significant difference - MC is more ruthless. Writing and pace are pretty good and these are the only reasons I'm still reading it

Why 3 stars? Because worthless world building and illogical characters. Also because op 5-7 years kids are bottom tier

1. Dude wants to save his sister but wholeheartedly accepts npc who according game plot is his sister enemy. He even teaches him secret techniques...

2. To prevent destruction of noble families kingdom forces nobles to have multiple heirs. And if they don't follow it - family can be destroyed. On top of it they don't care if one noble eradicates another noble family....

3. Armies are ret*rdedly small for no reason

4. 5 years old MC easily become head of the family. Because everyone thinks he is great....

5. In ~2 years MC is as powerful as knights training for decades. Two other siblings become as well... And it's not like you train faster in infancy. It's just that MC is soooo good for no reason.

There are a LOT of other obvious inconsistencies. So read this only if you can ignore a lot of bs <<less

This novel doesn't deserve this rating. Most of the 1 star ratings are from just the first 5 chapters so of course you wouldn't be able to get a decent understanding of the novel.

The MC is a reincarnated person with the goals of protecting his beloved sister from incompetent parenting and political figures that will potentially assassinate her due to her talent as a saint.

I will not elaborate much on my rating since the others have already explained it much better than I can.

Complaining about worldbuilding at chapter 5 is... more>> the dumbest thing I've ever seen in a review in this site.

It's a 4/5 at the very least. <<less

The harem characters are likeable and the MC is a very hard working guy that continues aiming for greater heights despite being massively overpowered. This is something you can definitely binge read.

A little bit of background of the world:

  1. It is a world that is both a bishojo and otome game. The person playing can choose to be either a female saintess that creates a male harem or a male hero that creates a female harem. The MC has cleared both.
  2. A persons capability to use magic is determined by a combination of their hair and eye color. The MC has extremely light gray hair, to the point of almost being white, which is accepted in that world as meaning he can't use magic.
  3. Life is treated very lightly in this world. Aristocrats pretty much get away with whatever they want to commoners as long as they put in the minimum amount of effort to cover their tracks.
  4. In the MC's country there is a religion that treats the aptitudes a person is born with as proof of God's favor. People like the MC as well as beastkin are considered subhuman by this religion. Funny enough, the world has Gods but the MC is acquainted with a Messenger of one of those Gods and the God being worshipped by that religion doesn't actually exist.
The... more>> MC uses hints from the game to develop new magic that doesn't rely on attributes. In the game it's treated as potential new research with no definitive possibility of existing but he goes all in on it as he's desperate to save his little sister.

Spoiler

He's desperate to save her because in his past life his own little sister died in front of him.

[collapse]

There are a few things I don't quite like with this series but it's not enough to dock a star:

1. So far the story seems to be going in the direction that one of the male capture targets from the otome game is going to join his harem. A boy that looks so effeminate literally everyone forgets he's a boy. The MC is still treating him as an adorable adopted little brother at the point in the story I'm at.

2. The MC decides to live by some of the ruthless values that are commonplace in that world despite having the power to overturn it:

Spoiler

A commoner, a 16 year old kid, from a region that is ignorant on nobility decides to publicly mock him. According to the values of nobles in that world the MC has to kill him and his family to preserve his dignity. The MC instantly kills the commoner with a headshot but tells everyone else present to keep their mouths shut on the issue to avoid having to kill his family. This development actually got me offguard because it was quite late in the story and it had never been hinted that he would commit to doing something like that.

[collapse]

3. The MC also will refuse to stop some potentially disastrous events from happening because they're events that exist to support the growth of the saintess and hero or because he wants to test a theory that could potentially give a hint to keep his sister from dying.

The saintess and hero both are needed to take on the sealed demon king of that world and at this point in the story the MC would only be able to suppress the demon king with extreme damage to the world. The reason being the demon king is immune to every magic but light and the amount of power he would have to concentrate to break those defenses would cause massive damage to the world. <<less

A gem. I went to read a few chapters and got hooked, ended up reading the considerable amount of story written so far in the course of a few days. One highlight is that there is no dense Japanese MC here, he's very aware of his surroundings and how the people around him feel.

Regarding his magic (quasi spoiler) :

Spoiler

He discovers that his magic (thought to be useless) excels in mental manipulation/emotional control. He can read the emotions of the people around him, and often knows when his harem members fall in love with him even before they themselves are aware of it.

[collapse]

I like how his magic eventually expresses itself, but it irked me that they shrug off the details regarding most of its the inner-workings; "I can just do this now" situations abounded, which I thought took from the work. But the story and characters are written well enough to ignore it. <<less

I honestly didn't expect much. Have this novel ready to read since September last year but only started reading 3 days ago.

Other comments already mentioned a lot about what to expect, so I will keep it brief. Read for yourself, and if you don't mind changing your ingrained values like "Kids are supposed to be helpless and looked down on" and "in*estuous relationship are unacceptable even in a fantasy world", then you are good to go. Otherwise, save yourself the trouble and read something more suited to your taste.

So far this is much better than expected. The other reviews have plenty of detail so my review wasn't needed but I just wanted to say thank you to the current translator. This is excellent with very little to complain about. I'm very thankful for the update speed but I'm going to have to find the raws. It's way to interesting.

I dived into this title blind, since it was the typical type of stories that I read, but I didn't expect to get hooked after reading for a while. I don't usually care if the story ends up weird or bland or even tr*sh, I simply stop reading at that point and not complain.

It is rather slow, and the time skips are weird, but I have read far weirder stories, and thank god those didn't get translated. My brains have melted several times reading such stories.

The story is the usual... more>> to be expected on this kind of genre, MC going op fighting stuff at an early age, questionable choices by MC despite having experience of previous life which would have been better if explained the reason why, and the common tropes happening which pretty much a norm for these types.

Also, I like the fact that the MC acknowledges his strength, which some OP novels kind of been skipping or making the MC too oblivious, to everything which also be fun but gets boring as the story went on.

I have many more to point out, but other reviewers should have already pointed it out so feel free to read those, repeating would be pointless since I am not the first to review this anyway.

that is all for my review, will continue reading and how the flow of the story doesn't force me to stop. <<less

I don't really want to rate after reading just 30 chapters, so let me give you my current score here: 2/5 at most.

I won't really go into detail, since other reviewers did and you have the summary, plus it's too early to judge the novel in detail. Instead, I will tell you what stopped me from reading further.

To put it simply, it was <suspension of disbelief> beyond belief with <half-assery>.

I get it that the author wanted to introduce the setting slowly, starting from small age, but he really overdid it.... more>> It makes no sense for small children (aged 5-7) to kill bandits, go fight wild wolves, and even be involved in a damn war... It's one thing for the protagonist, who's a reincarnated adult, but it makes little sense for other kids. And the best part is, the adults around are completely fine with it. It's like it's normal for a preschooler to hold a sword and take part in a castle's siege. Lmao. The protagonist seems to have become the head of the family at the age of 5-6, everyone seems fine with it, and his parents never really appeared. That's some next level of half-assed writing.

Honestly, the author keeps on using time skips, but he only ever skips several months or a year at most. Goddamn fool, you can literally skip by 5-10 years and it'll finally make sense... but no, 5-10 months instead.

Also, the supposed adult MC is being led by the nose by children who are younger than him even when not counting his previous life. This is too cringe, and the pace of getting out of this cringe is way too slow.

One reviewer said the writing is addicting, but the slow pace and uncharismatic protagonist, who also doubles as narrator, are far from addicting. There's nothing special of the sort. Either he read the raw or to each their own. In other words, don't expect to enjoy it if you like fast-paced novels.

A certain reviewer who read as much as me (almost), DimaShishandra, also points out many problems with the worldbuilding in a spoiler. I completely agree with his points. I told you, it's just half-assed.

Also, the in*est is heavy. If you dislike it, don't blame me if you ignore my words - you've been warned.

I honestly don't know why people like this. I guess they must have excellent patience, so I can only commend them. <<less

Excellent storytelling, the otome game origins could almost be replaced by a rewind redemption for broader genre appeal, though. I almost skipped this due to the description.

I like that the big bad is/are a plausible threatening existence and important events are happening offscreen. It's not necessary for the MC to be involved with each and every thing, which is a weak point of many many webnovels.

Story is not great, I agree that "junk food" is a pretty good classification of this novel.

Besides that there's one thing that makes me flip out - within one chapter you can get 3 different spellings of sister's name and I'm not talking about her full name vs nickname. It's like the translator took the nickname and made it their life goal to see how many new ways of spelling it they can create, while keeping the way it reads mostly the same. It's like each time the name comes... more>> up they read it aloud to a speech-to-text converter and go with whatever they get.

I don't know, is this an edited mtl (as a non-native speaker it reads pretty well), where the translator just decided to ignore some names for some reason. I have read some stories where character names changed from chapter to chapter, because the translator changed, or found that the new spelling works better/old one was wrong, but this thing is way too random for that.

The best thing is, the translator manages to keep other character's names mostly consistent (besides the MC who went through at least 3 spellings).

Mthrfkcr just pick one and stick to it ffs <<less

It's absolutely stunning how bad a story can go. I read till vol 3 chapter 6 that was the final point of salvaging the novel, being able to turn it from 0 star tr*sh to something decent but it failed.

As for what it is:

Spoiler

Throughout the story despite being the strongest man alive and literally having all kinds of miraculous magic at hand MC keeps taking insults and abuse like a punching bag from every enemy possible. The final grace of changing it was a grand 'plan' he had been enduring for, which is revealed to be rebellion and gaining independence.

The biggest and worst feeling comes from when he drops that grand plan to support a tr*sh prince cuz of whims. The tr*sh prince only meets him once and bows to apologize (which was actually the only reason for meeting, which fails him as a noble since such a precious meeting was literally for nothing), which somehow convinces MC he has a great character and is fit to be king. And this naive prince isn't even supported to become a puppet king whom MC can control but instead a true king, and he stands to gain nothing from this that he couldn't without becoming this prince's literal dog

[collapse]

Simply put MC is truly the strongest in the world, the actual game settings or whatever are backdrop and borderline irrelevant. This is complete with mind manipulation abilities with no cap or drawbacks. Yet he never uses this to his advantage in working in the noble society. It's truly pathetic to see so much power and cheats yet never being used for anything other than transport or some minor fights.

And don't forget all the kids involved are 6-10 years old and act to be 16-20 yr olds without anyone batting an eye. <<less

I went with the raws as usual, the story itself is interesting enough to keep one entertained, but for the love of god, read the title, it does exactly as it said. First 3 volumes the protag isn't the strongest but he is close enough to be among humans. And by volume 3 he becomes the strongest of all, that's not even half the story. If the title bothers you then don't read. If it doesn't, then it will do exactly as they say, the protags have intense sibling complex,... more>> and they remain children until the end of the third volume. Many reviews about this novel are shallow, they prey on the cliches used here while completely ignoring the novelty touches added by the author.

-Nobles are probably the most fleshed off group in this novel, the author dedicates a lot of time to subvert common cliches such as the pe*vert noble.

-The heroines are competent, while it's true that the MC is OP he avoids heavy handed methods as much as possible to keep himself away from the dictator route, thanks to that the heroines are a lot more than damsels in... more>> distress here. <<less

A mediocre story filled with usual tropes. The title is pretty much true with the siblings having some extreme complex (will likely end up being married by the end I feel) and the MC being inhumanely strong.

The story suffers from quite a bit of unusual developments, be it a 5-6 y.o child leading battles (the image is rather difficult) or other instances where kids are doing crazy stuff.

There are inconsistencies as well, such as the academy phase being mentioned to start at 15, but the MC starts it at 16... more>> without any reason, only cause his sibling was a year younger.

It's a pure junk food novel. Don't go in with any expectations for good quality read.

P.S the Otaku translations bit was very good quality TL and the TL notes in between are kinda funny. <<less

You can skim most of the story and still get the gist of it. It's your generic power fantasy where MC uses his previous life's knowledge to prevent his sister's downfall. As far as where I am right now, this story's main problem is its political intrigue and the realism of the story. If your suspension of disbelief is long or just new to reading japanese power fantasy, then this story is good for you.
