After waking up, it appeared that I had been reincarnated into the body of an eight-year-old boy. At first, I was filled with excitement. However, my elation was short-lived when I realized I had been reborn as a commoner in a place with no proper bathroom or bath, and the food was terrible. Ahh! I longed to return to Japan, but that was impossible. I was stuck in this new reality.

I decided to set a goal for myself: to have a comfortable life. But it seemed like an unattainable dream. Until someone mentioned that aristocrats had access to baths, proper toilets, and even full bathrooms! That’s when I made up my mind to become an aristocrat.

This is the story of a boy who aspired to live a life of luxury by becoming a noble. However, he would end up saving the world without even realizing it.

The story itself is a reasonably interesting read. It's a pity that the translation seems to be machine translation edited by someone who does not speak English, assuming it's edited at all. It makes reading new chapters painful, with gender switching and name spelling inconsistencies, nonsensical sentence subjects, and wild swings between completely comprehensible and tossed word salad. Don't get me wrong, it's better than no translation at all, but only in the way that being in a car crash wearing a seat belt is better than crashing without one.

I am more than willing to suspend my disbelief with WNs and LNs. I don't blink when Rize Beibalon creates a black hole with cows. But you have to be internally consistent.

I thought it was bad when MC "invented" pancakes and his parents (they are cooks) got surprised. Because apparently nobody ever in the history of theirkind thought about making flat cake, an invention that can be traced to BC 30000 if not earlier in our world.

But no, I wasn't ready for the rest. MC meets with a magic shop... more>> owner. They have magical light bulbs but they are too s*upid to invent switches so they manually put and remove magic stones by hand. MC explains that with "if there are no machines, then there is no need for switches" except they do have machines. They have carriages (which require breaks), they have church bells.

He improves healing magic (treating cuts) by thinking about cells repairing themselves. Except that's not how that works. Your body creates new tissue while healing.

He improves fire magic by imagining fire burning oxygen. Oxygen is not flammable. Sure oxygen (or an oxidizing agent if you wanna be extra nitpicky) is required for fire but you can't burn oxygen.

"I also used the Body Enhancement magic to boost my speed by imagining an increase in muscle mass." Because we all know Usain Bolt is as swole as Arnold Schwarzenegger

And author expects me to believe that our MC is better magic caster because he has no idea how world works, should have flunked highschool and must have gotten into the university by cheating and nepotism? <<less

It's pretty good, the MC is nice, I like the main goal, the family's nice.

It's pretty good all around I hope it doesn't go to crap

Read at valhala tls for the chapters they have a lot more chapters than shown

Spoiler

it just got revealed that the MC has all attributes so im a little worried for the SUPER GIGA OP level MC we might have and along with that the plot contrivances and holes that could happen to challenge the MC like a 1k year old secret society that is really into a tentacle dog with a beard god or something

[collapse]

Update 1: chapter 23: I have noticed that the translation is a bit jarring and for what ever reason I'm clever is added into sentences for no reason. Current rating 4.7 so it's still a 5

Upade 2: chapter 31: the story is good but as I pay attention to the sentences (I don't do that normally) I realize that the translation is bad. An editor is also very needed as there was a scene where the MC asks a question and the person he was talking to replied with thank you then something elsefor whatever reason, who replies with thank you in a question. And from 1 sentance to another I can change from the MC to his sister to his friendnrandomly. It's small but that was really jarring also the fact that the perspective can suddenly change from 1st to 3rd person for no reason. Its most likely a problem with the tl and not the author. It's a good story. But I want my opinion of it to stay that way so im dropping it since from what I can tell it's going to go to a cliche story if it keeps going the way I'm thinking it. <<less

Looks like the average isekai/transmigration novel. The author is a bit more cautious in using the genre's already-exhausted clichés at least. For example, after finding out that he died and reincarnated into a random kid, the MC spends a couple lines in disarray, frustration, fear, and finally grief before deciding to accept reality and do something about his situation. Better than “Oh boy, this is an isekai! Hell yeah!”

The pacing is so slow that it's hard to tell anything about the story but so far it's okay. Characterization, world building,... more>> dialogue; everything's just okay.

Given that the protagonist apparently has a concrete goal from the start, I hope he doesn't spend the whole time dawdling between irrelevant plot points and side characters with no substance.

I'll definitely continue reading this.

Also, kinda weird that another group decided to pick up this novel and translate it from the start when the previous translation seems fine and still fairly active. <<less
