I Was Caught up in a Hero Summoning, but That World Is at Peace (WN)

It all happened so abruptly. After finally grasping my situation, I found myself in an entirely different world. Looking around, I noticed others in the same predicament… Could this possibly be one of those Hero developments?

Was there a tyrannical Demon Lord needing extermination, or would I be tossed into the maelstrom of war? Whatever it was, I was afraid. I never wanted to be a Hero. I don’t want to harm another…… Ignore the nonsense I was spouting; there was nothing to fret over.

The Demon Lord was slain a thousand years ago, and 800 years had passed since the last war. The nobles didn’t treat us summoned like tr*sh; instead, we were kindly cared for. The Demons have been on good terms with Humans for some time now. Dangers, such as monsters, were being taken care of by the Guild and the Order of Knights. What’s more surprising is the fact that I wasn’t even a hero! Instead, I was unintentionally summoned!

It also turns out that this world was a world in which the three races, the Spirit World’s Magical Races, the Celestial World’s Divine Races, and the Mortal World’s Human Races, are kind neighbors. Here, everyone lives a peaceful and fulfilling life.

In summary, this other world was――at peace.

What’s my plan for the future? For my limited stay here, I will live this world to its fullest; going on a cultural exchange, sightseeing, then, after experiencing the festival that is only held once every ten years, …… I shall safely return home.

However, despite my lust for a peaceful last year before returning, this planet’s heavyweights have begun amassing around me, and……

"I wonder which is the true prologue of the story?" - Eden Chapter 543

I wonder? Is it Chapter 1 or the end of the main story? - That's the question you need to bear in mind, and you will find your answers at the end of the main story. You will find this likable if you incline Harem, Rom-Com superrrr slow-phase web novel.

Pointers:

... more>> Like the novel said, "Peaceful world, " so don't expect a story arc action pack. Since this novel only revolves around Relationship development and flirting.

He was a weak and Stoical Main Protagonist but protected and loved by everyone, wanting to find his purpose alongside his loved ones. (Addition: He is more like a heroine than a protagonist)

Being one of the slowest progression WN you will encounter, you will find it tiring to read. That's why I do recommend reading this at your own pace.

I do find slow progression rewarding. That is what I learned after reading Sevens.

About the Harem members, so far, they are unique; arguably, they have their personalities not overlapping each other. If you think Kuro is the main heroine, I'm sorry to tell you, but I feel your transcendental beauty is the real heroine. Technically, there's no natural progression in this novel. If I describe it, it's more like this novel is a set collection of their everyday lives. And lastly, what I like about this Web-Novel is their Never-ending stories and backstories of each Harem member with a deeper past related to what they are right now. Yes, there are flaws. Like there are parts you will find boring and repetitive, but it doesn't matter. What matters to me is the author giving this web novel a proper ending.

Afterword:
[Airhead goddess]: The reason why there are so many girls and the majority of them one-sidedly fall in love with Kaito is that the world is created and designated for him. -- Something like that. <<less

I like this story for the most part. As other reviews have said, it's a super chill and laidback sugar story.

My only issue is just how dense the MC can be. He literally has the ability to feel the emotions of others, so you'd think romance would be smooth sailing. WRONG.
Spoiler

In chapter 85, one of the girls knocks on his door in the middle of the night, and asks him for a stroll. While outside she sits next to him, and as they're leaving holds his hand. She literally left him a note saying she likes him and won't give up despite how many rivals she has. His reaction? "I don't get her intentions"

It's quite literally just a waifu collector novel. If that's your thing, it's a 5/5. If not, it's 1/5. Literally no in between.

The main issue is that the novel gets into all the sh*t it's not good at. The only thing it does well is the wish-fullfill-y romance.

But the novel drones on and on and on about dumbass trade and companies and hierarchies and whatever in a novel where there is never a monetary issue and everybody lives in a utopia. It's so, so boring.

Overall I liked most characters, story is wholesome and heartwarming but I hate the MC and the Main FL Kuro. This is btw not a spoiler as the author already told us "this story will not be serious, no real fighting, everyone will fall in love with the MC" in the beginning. This is just a story of collecting 'lovers' saying "when they becomes lovers at some points this and that happens" is legally not a spoiler. thank you.

    1. MC is dense as it can be and he doesn't change "she confessed her love to, how did I not notice her feelings before this even though it was so obvious?!" next girl confesses "Eh?! She confessed me her love?! Now that I think about it it was really obvious she loved me...!" and it will probably continue...
    1. He gets more and more embarrassed at everything, it was bearable in the beginning but at some point he even started to nosebleed every few chapters...
    1. He 'desperately' wants to have 'pure' love, he apparently doesn't think it better than 'following his instincts' but always shows his oh so great 'iron will' holding back his urges when he is invited to do 'it' (because if both want to do it its not pure right?)
    1. Overall he becomes worse and worse as the story goes on, the first 100+ chaps are fine but....
I'm not complaining about him not having s*x, I just find his hypocrisy extremely disgusting. I don't need some perfect MC either, just a reasonable human being with somewhat consistent thoughts is more than enough.

My next complaint would be Kuro, the main female lead...

to me she feels like a badly copied version of Isis. But that not all, she is also always in a body of a 12 yo girl and the MC (21 yo) cant hold himself back from how sexy she is, this is more a complaint about the MC again my bad...

Anyways she doesn't just look like a child but she also behaves like a child, at first she was more of a motherly figure to the MC but as the chapters went on and the MC degraded more and more Kuro also degraded, finally becoming complete tr*sh when they become lovers.

So far I've liked every character except the 2 MCs which is really sad.

The story is ok, not much expectations in this type of novel but those few expectations are fulfilled so that's nice.

Author repeats everything a whole lot. example: "She went there" "Eh? She went there?" "Yes she went there!" inner dialog: so she went there hmmm she must have really went there "I see she, so she went there". Its not constantly at that level but sometimes, some level of repetition always stays though.

Author also loves to stutter in every dialog. In EVERY dialog. And everyone is blushing.

I would recommend reading this novel up to chapter 150 or so. At that point maybe keep reading while skipping all the inner dialog of the MC and just skimming the conversations involving Kuro.

Reading through the reviews there seems to be a trend of somewhat negative reviews that mostly give around 3 stars. I think it is because no one can deny that this is a decent novel, but at the same time there is so much wasted potential. The harem is definitely big like others say, but thankfully most of the girls are memorable. I can see a girl reintroduced after quite a while and mostly know who she is. Also, some of them are really likable.

My biggest issue with the novel... more>> is the mc: The girls attraction is all based on him being the nicest and most caring guy, but it honestly seems like he falls short of that.

For example with one of his girls, Isis,

Spoiler

she was forced into about 20, 000 years of isolation because she naturally repels anyone weaker than a god. MC has several people around him who would be happy to help her at his request and are capable of doing so, but he only looks into fixing it years down the line in a side story where they are getting married. Additionally, his solution was one that only works when they are together, and due to the large harem he sees her maybe 2 times a month max. The fact that he didn’t even think about ways to solve it using his unique perspective as an isekai protag until then kind of kills the idea that he is super considerate.

[collapse]

Another girl, alice,

Spoiler

is kind of goofy and jokes around a lot. The MC is constantly hitting her and putting her down. The author says that it is just their way of interacting but I think it is just him taking the straight/silly man routine too far at the detriment of the story’s mood. I really don’t want to read about some guy insulting and hitting the woman he is in a relationship with on a regular basis.

[collapse]

Also another one, vier, (fairly large spoiler)

Spoiler

Was the former demon king who lead a war against humanity, but regrets how far things went. She spent hundreds of years living in poverty as a healer to make up for it somehow, and she regularly denies herself any relaxation or fun out of guilt. There was even a whole arch about her feeling guilty about it all. Even then, the MC constantly refers to her as the demon king almost like he is afraid that someone will forget. It is her biggest regret and wound, but the MC just keeps casually twisting the knife.

[collapse]

Finally another one of his women, Shiro,

Spoiler

is the supreme god of the world and regularly contacts MC to tell him that she wants to spend time with him and that she wants to help him. The MC regularly puts his own ego ahead of helping whoever needs it and making her happy by saying he wants to do things himself, and to top it off he never bothers visiting her. She has expressed her discontent about being ignored a few times, but nothing ever changes.

[collapse]

Even though he acts that way he is portrayed as the most sensitive and caring guy which just feels so forced. If his compassion is the basis to make the harem, then I should at least not have to see my favorite girls getting blatantly ignored or mistreated. There are several other problems with the MC (childish, indecisive, beta, etc) but I wanted to focus on this aspect since others have explained those already. He is my least favorite character in the novel, but he is also the only one that makes consistent appearances each chapter. <<less

This is a fun read so far. It's very wholesome, with the focus being on thoughts and feelings rather than action or violence. I'm looking forward to how it develops.

Honestly, I found myself laughing through most parts of this novel. As it stands, only five chapters have been translated. But, since I can read Japanese, I am now currently reading chapter 76. I love the story progression, and how the author, Toudai-sensei, sets up a lot of obvious Chekhov's Guns and see the pay off. Personally, I like seeing the Lady Duke's reactions to our MCs OP connection skills. If anything is overpowered about him, it would be that he has mad connection skills. But most of all, I... more>> really like the afterwords of this novel. Example from chapter 75:

Spoiler

Human world's Healing Magicians...... Can not cure.

Void King (as [冥王] has been translated)...... Can cure.

Creation God [創造神]...... Can cure with ease.

Spacetime God [時空神]...... Can cure.

Death King (as [死王] has been translated)...... Can procure the fruit of the World Tree.

Huh? If this has been left to Kaito, everything would've been solved, no?

[collapse]

Spoiler

Also, almost every chapter ends with "Dear Mother, Fatherーー" Summary, but there are times where the chapter still continue. These are usually from the POV of other characters.

I also love the fact that two most powerful Spirit kings are willing to kill or cripple the king of the kingdom that summoned MC & co. just because the MC was left out of the Hero's Party (as in a dinner party).

There was a point where I liked this novel. The first problem is that the writing is really good. The author is really seriously good at writing. The second problem is that the story is awful. The MC never has growth. He's basically given mind control (everyone will be friends with me) powers and the harem members solve every problem for him. This happens until the end of the story when the girls even solve his trauma for him. Something that could have been very real and very emotional is... more>> destroyed because the author couldn't make a strong MC that could solve problems on their own. I'm rating it at 1, despite knowing how crazy popular this story is. If you like a mob MC that does nothing and the story keeps happening because of passive brainwashing, you'll love it. <<less

My man's as strong as a goblin but holds enough authority that if he ever wished to rule then he could easily rule more than 2 universes.

also I love the daily update, love the characters, the story, the concept almost everything except that MC has the biggest harem I've ever seen and still is a virg*n

Just like Nonbiri Nounka, this a story about masturbating the Authors self insert, everyone loves the MC while he does nothing.
All the girls get along no matter the circumstances or situation, they all love the MC so much that they can look beyond any potential disagreement or complete character antagonism that should be there.

A slice of life series is supposed to show interesting situations with unique characters, but all the girls end up being the same, they pine for the dude and get no development or interesting interactions.

I admit, I enjoyed this novel. At least for the first 100 chapters or so, but oh boy is this such a drag to read. The MC has magic that allows him to read the emotions of others, but is dense beyond belief. The comedy which had some appeal early on quickly became redundant and not funny at all. His eventual harem is nice and all, but with the MC being as dense as he is, there’s little to no progress and more misunderstandings if anything. Then there’s how the... more>> MC regularly meets these major people repeatedly, in short successions with them just magically all of a sudden taking a liking towards him due to how kind a person he is or something basic he said. Like come tf on. I know the author is going for a drama free novel, but at least make it somewhat believable and not feel so forced. <<less

I won't spoil sh*t for people, however I would say it's a great novel in terms of progression early on and falls off later on.

My main issue with the character isn't that he's necessarily weak, as the author does a good job of making a scenario where he doesn't necessarily need physical strength to achieve the main plot, but he has a huge issue with being massively undermined as a character due to his lack of presence despite being the most important character in the story. In many scenarios it... more>> feels as if the MC could just not exist and the story would work without him. He also seems to be more of a bystander than an active role in the story, yes he does do things that in the plot are deemed impossible but he really only does it after a ton of exposition and it's really not him doing it. It takes hundreds of chapters for the MC to start actually getting character growth and it's by the end of the story or the coming close to the end of it. I get it's not serious but it becomes a bit silly when you make an MC so weak yet have him be so integral to the story. To those who make the argument that you don't need a strong MC, I disagree. There's a presence gained by having strength and this character really doesn't have any. He achieves nothing out of his own strength until much later on which is what frustrates me. Also Lilia as a character is just plain obnoxious, her behavior in regards to the MC is unwarranted and probably the worst of the heroines. <<less

I like to call that moment of disillusion with a novel you really liked at the beginning but starts to kinda annoy you after a few days as the “100-chapters phenomenon.” This has happened to me in every WN with chapters of around 1.5k - 2.5k words I've read from this site, but especially Japanese WN with a romance aspect to it. Once you go past the 100-chapters mark, you start to clearly notice the cracks in the plot, those little things you found sort of unsatisfactory or maybe didn't... more>> even notice start to pile up, and BAM, you find yourself not enjoying it as much and eventually dropping it because you don't expect it to get better (or the big event that's the core premise of the novel, like a couple finally getting together, already happened and the author just meanders about).

So, I have very mixed feelings about this particular WN. I am disillusioned with it but at the same time feel that the author is taking the piss and he himself doesn't even care, so why should I? In the end, I'm kind of like “meh, next chapter, ” and keep reading anyway.

To start with, yes, this is another “kind of” deconstruction of the isekai genre. It's exactly as the premise says but with a dumb harem and a dense protagonist. However, the author wrote the characters and the initial setting really well. The struggles of the protagonist at first really hit close to home. I was actually emotionally invested in him, and Kuro, and the two other girls. It really is a shame that the author then went “harem lol” and forgot everything that made these characters so good. Also, the MC literally has the power to sense the emotions and vague thoughts of other people but at the same time he's like “a woman liking me in a romantic way!?? Impossible! There's no way I could even know if that's true, regardless.”

But, as I said before, I can't even get mad because the author literally takes the piss out of the plot or the characters at the end of the chapter in his notes. Like “yeah bad guy loses, spoiler lmao, ” or “The girl likes so, how are you so dense, MC!?” Considering that, even if it's a dumb harem novel, the characters (mainly the love interests) and the world-building are sufficiently compelling to keep me reading chapter after chapter.

On a side note, yet again another Japanese webnovel translation that could've greatly benefitted from a native speaker editor. It looks like it's at least heavily reliant on MTL, leading to very direct translations and awkward wording, and the occasional sentence that makes no sense and it's impossible to decipher. But, honestly, I can't even bring myself to be mad about it because the translator pretty much posts daily between this and his other novel. <<less

First of all I'll talk about the world building which is pretty simple but really good for an Isekai story and it has enough detail for you to get a really good idea of what the world around the characters looks like. Now I'll talk about the plot it's slow paced and easy going and it speeds up here and there this is a light hearted harem comedy that's surprisingly really well written granted it's wish fulfillment so it's predictable to a certain degree but overall this is a surprisingly... more>> good hidden gem. Now let's talk about the characters the story centers around the protagonist he's average but at least his character design is pretty good for a Isekai protagonist. To put it bluntly he's naive and kind so much so that it's kinda hard to believe he's actually 20+ years old that said he's a good guy with a decent personality so it's kinda hard to hate him he's not exactly a saint but the guys the type to jump into a burning building to save someone he barley knows if it happens in front of him without much regard for his own life which does lead to some troublesome stuff later on in the story. This novel is focused around his personal mental and emotional growth and his interactions with his harem members who are all surprisingly well written each and every member had a unique personality and they actually feel like real people not a single one is bland all his interactions with them are overwhelming sweet and can be a little hard to read at times due to how overbearingly sweet his relationships with them are. If you're worried about him ending up with a single girl don't be this guy basically throws out master balls to every girl he meets and polygamy is the norm in that world so harems are actually common. Here's my personal opinion on this novel. plot 5/5

world building 5/5

characters 6/5 Every character in this novel even those that have appeared once or twice are well written he's literally gave each girl unique characteristics personalities and looks without making them seem bland

if I had to complain about one thing it's this novels lack of seriousness there are no tragic heroines this guy is never in any real danger and everyone is always flirting. Even when a serious scene happens it always ends in flirting I can't even enjoy my spicy food when reading this novel. Also despite saying true 3 worlds are equal that's not the case the just a single member of the six kings can face all of humanity alone so discard that notion immediately and the demon and god realms have a being far above everyone else so ya they are not equal in the slightest. Wether it be military political or economic power both the god and demon realms far surpass humanity.

Also about the hero

spoiler

She's not actually a great person she's just a naive muscle headed idiot who had no real clue about demons or what was going on. She thought that the reason a demon king was able to appear was due to a lack of communication which couldn't have been more wrong. Basically the beings of power in the world could have solved that in less than a second but couldn't due to certain reasons. And the treaty of friendship was only signed on the gods side because it would allow for a certain event to happen the creation god could not have given a damn about the hero or the treaty otherwise her value and what she wanted was literally 0 in the eyes of god. Hell if the heads of the demon world didn't want a connection with the human world and weren't a bunch of great people she couldn't even convince them. For whoever had read arifuerta out Kouki's naive personality and put it on a female hero and behold you get the first hero. <<less

I read the review, "all characters have personality" or so they said.

I say the complete opposite, they have none.

Everyone fawn over the same person with little to no reason, MC's pretty much the same wholesomely crafted harem protagonist as many others.

Put all that aside, the one that dealt the last blow was the, "dear mom and dad". Such bland and dependent personality have to be diluted even more with signs of dependency every couple of chapter or so.

Overloaded flavored sugar.

Didn't come here to read an awfully serious or intricate story just wanted to read a heart warming novel with likable characters
At the start the plot was somewhat interesting which as the story progressed devolved into character with little to no personality that only exist to get embarrassed by the slightest action of the MC and love him despite the MC having little to no likable traits
This quickly devolved into a Hentai with no S*x
This feels like a satire on isekai novels where a normal piece of... more>> sh*t gets isekaied and gets all the hot girls people there praise him without him doing anything of worth <<less

this is possibly my favorite novel currently. I love the world, character, and plot. I would like to say for those searching for op MC beating everyone with a single sword strike or single spell to look away, this is not the novel for you.

its a slice of life novel, and had a easy slow going romance which I really enjoy. Its not a realistic romance novel (I think for those who are searching for realistic romance shouldn't even consider this as there is a harem tag), but a... more>> slow and steady romance which span for over 400 chapter.

there are some part that doesn't make sense, and some chapter which are missing (I can't find it, if you can, that's good), and most importantly, it has a daily chapter, which I love.

in conclusion, this is not a novel for those who are looking for serious main character or serious plot. This is not a novel for those looking for a realistic or serious romance. This is definitely not a novel for those looking for generic overpowered main character beating everyone. This is a novel for those who have the time to just enjoy an entertaining slice of life novel in form of an isekai. <<less
