I agree with stanljpierre, the plot is as generic as it gets and seems like an amalgamation of a few actually good KR novels I've read, but executed poorly. The goal of the entire plot is pointed at smut, but the smut itself is sparse and lackluster at best.

The academy is like any other academy from hunter centric stories along with their nepotism and lack of care, and the heroines, while having some semblance of a personality have no background, aren't fleshed out and it's mentioned constantly that they're attracted... more>> to the MC because of his face and because it's their destiny as heroines.

The MC is unlikeable, blaming his shortcomings on the protagonist who's body he took over and attempting the use of dr*gs multiple times, while being led around by the nose most of the time.

I'd give it a 2/10, considering that at least it's coherent and well translated, but those are the only positives I can see from it. <<less

Honestly, I never expected to get this far, and I’m glad I did, the overall novel has many generic aspects, but it also has some of its own uniqueness, each heroine/love interest have a personality of their own, and the MC actually loves each and every one of them, instead of seeing them as characters of a game, he actually sees them as real people, which is why I like this novel, instead of a bland protagonist, the MC actually has emotions and questions his character, he isn’t overpowered, instead... more>> he grows during and after each battle he faces, I would recommend reading this novel for a long run, instead of a quick read, there will be parts where it will be boring specifically between chapters 300-400, but yeah overall I enjoyed this novel 7.5/10 plot, there’s little to no plot holes, but no details regarding specific parts and characters, such as the gods, villains, etc, 9/10 characters, in the beginning the MC views everyone in the world as some character, but as the novel gradually reaches it’s climax and resolution, there is many changes not only to the MC but also the heroines. Overall 9.2/10 novel personally a great read <<less

I think this story is generic and uninteresting.

Think every cliche you’ve seen in a comedy anime. It’s here. For example: Male wakes up and grabs female chest “accidentally”. Seen it a million times. As for the romance interests, it’s nothing new or novel, to the point that the author barely describes what the girls look like. Another example: Lucy is sitting with her twin Lumi. Lucy is a mixed euro Asian who dyes her hair blue. Lumi looks the same but doesn’t dye her hair. That’s it. Both are major... more>> characters and you spend a whole chapter on Lumi, even seeing from her POV. But yeah.

As for the system, the magic etc. I frankly don’t care- there’s a bunch of other options if you want a action harem in a game story. At least the alternatives do more show rather than have the MC info dump for more than a chapter.

Didn’t make it far enough to tell if there’s smut, but based off the writing quality, 60% of any lemon on the internet is better than this. Generic plot, half done characters, and the setting, the reason why you are here, is just another academy story. Other than being called s*x Academy it’s just an another generic Asian magic school.

Your time is valuable. Don’t waste it on this. <<less

This is the original source from the manhwa, Trapped in the Academy's Eroge, so if you're coming off of that (which I was), I would recommend reading the novel from the start since a couple of the events were swapped around along with a short story arc that wasn't adapted: ... more>>

, and additional s*x scenes with the heroines. You can read it at PandaMTL (Possessed with the Academy Game) which is surprisingly like 80-90% comprehensible if you don't want to wait for the actual translations.

Overall, a solid and enjoyable read albeit a predictable and very generic storyline with 1-dimensional villains. If you just want to lay back and read a smut fantasy academy harem novel with a decent 'plot' going on, then this is a good pick up. I think its strongest points are its characters especially the heroines and their smut scenes with the MC. If you're curious about the harem count by the end of the novel, it's 11 girls:

Lucy & Rumi (twins), Nam Gaeun (swordswoman), Liliana (succubus), Scarlett (former assassin), Rebecca (former villain that only cares about reviving her clan), Moon Surin (school president), Im Sol (professor & strongest magician before MC), Baek Ahyoung (nurse/healer), Alice & Irene (sisters from a very influential guild)

[collapse]

The interesting thing about the heroines is the fact that some of them aren't even from the original game that the MC played, so there's some added 'challenges' and surprises that the MC goes through in order to receive rewards from the system and have a higher chance of reaching the ending. At first, the MC treated the world as a 'game' but with the more interactions he has with his harem, the more we see his feelings becoming more genuine and the responsibilities weighing on him. Each girls have their own unique personalities with some girls having their own development throughout the novel AND with their own s*xual preferences/kinks. For example, Baek Ahyoung is very much into r*pe play, and the MC knows that so he doesn't hesitate and plays along with it. Also, the MC is pretty likable as he not only cares about the heroines and ensures that they have a good time, but he knows trying to create a harem while leaving some girls in the dark to progress the plot is a douchebag-y move, so he eventually tries to create scenarios to ease that in and have the girls understand his relationships with other women.

On the last note, the magic system in this novel isn't anything special but it's simple and convenient for the MC. The MC is described as a genius so he doesn't face any roadblocks on his path with magic, so I could hardly say that the Weak to Strong aspect is satisfying, but the development of his own unique spells, some of the action scenes against the villains, and

Man, I don't usually rate the novels I read, but this one needs it.

To be honest, it's not so much about the story, but let's talk a little about it. The story is good and fun, it keeps you hooked from beginning to end, you don't get bored reading it (with an addendum to the +18, which is very good). If you want to read something fun and spicy to pass the time, I highly recommend this novel.

Now about the main subject, THE FREQUENCY OF CHAPTER RELEASES. Man, what this... more>> translator does I think is really shitty. I read this work about seven or eight months ago, and the chapter I stopped at was in the 60s. I went back to read it again, and read until the last chapter released, Chapter 127. After finishing the chapter, when I went to the next chapter, the option to pay for the chapter appeared. So far so good, I thought. The translator can try to earn a little money for his work (which, by the way, the translation is very good). That was until I went to see how often the free chapters were released (because of the 60 or so chapters I accumulated in seven, eight months of waiting), and also because I wanted to see how far I was from the paid chapters. From the NOVEL UPDATES you can already see that the frequency is pretty bad, sometimes going seven or more days without chapters. So I went to see where the paid ones were, and I started scrolling down, and I realized that it seemed to have no end, when I got to the last chapter, I was shocked by so much shit. The last one that had been released WAS f*ckING CHAPTER 508, THE FREQUENCY OF THIS GUY'S PAID CHAPTERS IS AT LEAST 9 CHAPTERS PER WEEK, WHILE THE FREE ONES SOMETIMES GO MORE THAN A WEEK WITHOUT BEING RELEASED.

To give you an idea, chapter 127 was released on November 24, 2023, and it was only released on August 15, 2024. That was all I wanted to vent about. In any case, the work is very good, so if you're going to read it, I recommend waiting (maybe A LONG TIME) until all the chapters are released. You won't regret reading this work. <<less

Really liked the premise as reincarnated into the main character trope Isekai's are becoming a rare breed. While that is the case, a conscious main character in a "game" is a new one I have yet to encounter. While it does seem that he is overpowered as a consequence of the game "god" forcing him to go into the game world, it does seem that the author is setting up roadblocks for him from the god of the world and hopefully it increases suspense. I will leave my rating at... more>> 5 as I am hooked on the story and hope the best for both the author and translator! <<less

So far so good. Another "smut" novel that has a story that is actually not terrible. MC gets in an unintentional argument with god and is forced into the game he reviewed poorly (not the first time I've encountered something like this but remains funny nonetheless) as the protagonist. Protagonist of said game is a CHAD, so while he's told he will die if he doesn't get the full harem ending of the "game" and that he has basically no chance at success, the odds aren't as stacked against him... more>> as the initial story leads you to believe. Regardless, there hasn't been a dull moment yet so it'll remain one of the 5 star ratings of things I read here.

Edit Ch 44: Still good

Translator Shift Edit: The original translator was a legend, pumping out quality chapters almost daily. Sadly while I appreciate Foxaholic's translation quality as the new translators, now the translation speed has greatly slowed in comparison. Not sure how many chapters are locked behind a paywall now, but either way it's going to be a slow process getting to chapter 666 from here. <<less

I'm surprised how this story s**ked me in. Started reading on a whim, figuring it'd be something I'd most likely drop after a few chapters.

Ended up binge-reading to the current TL'd chapter and am hungry for more.

Biggest draw for me is definitely the TL quality. It reads smooth as butter. I don't whether it's MTL or not and don't feel it's an issue for this type of story anyway. Clearly the TLer has some decent writing chops from the way this reads and it's the end result that matters to... more>> me when reading something fun like this.

The story itself is well paced. It usually spends around the right amount of time with worldbuilding, character interactions, and action to stay constantly engaging and never a chore to read.

The story does occasionally feel like it glosses over things a bit too quickly but that's understandable considering the Korean Raws are at 657 chapters and ongoing. I imagine there's so much interesting content to come that if the author lingered on day-to-day matters the story might end up bloated and go on for 1000s of chapters.

The smut is so far ~5% of the story, so don't go in expecting a ton despite the extremely smutty sounding premise. I can see it increasing as the story progresses and the MC makes more progress with the heroines.

The MC is more interesting than I expected. He's a "chessmaster" type that plans well and handles almost everything with a clear head. Almost everything is what makes things a little more entertaining. Seems there may be a setting that forces him to think with the wrong head in certain situations, but we'll see how that develops.

Don't know enough about the heroines yet but they seem interesting enough so far. How he'll manage to juggle seducing all of them will be interesting. I expect him to experience close calls with game-over "nice boat" endings when some inevitably find out about each other and don't take it well.

4.5/5 stars. Not a masterpiece by any means but damn fun to read. <<less

The other reviews has done more than enough to describe this novel.

So why three stars? Because the characters moves just what the "original game world" programmed them to be, not deviating or anything, everything goes as expected, and worse,

Spoiler

Our MC is transmigrated as the original protagonist of the game, inherited all the good looks, powers, luck, etc, that made all the "conquering" inevitable and simply, easy

by then, everything seems too dull.

And nothing can be expected outside the setting which the novel revolves in (the academy). Everything is inside the academy, yet it is not yet explained the its purpose and significance in outside world. Why had the significant characters (which is only the heroines and the MC in fact), enrolled in this academy in the first place? Their background is as vague as the world is.

There are also no urgent or formidable foes and adversity as this is more of a slice of life, but then, why add guilds and magic when there's no essentially combat? <<less

Novels reads too much like a JP Harem story. That by itself is entirely unappealing and makes for a tiresome and irksome experience, hence why I usually tend to avoid those.

MC’s personality constantly flip-flops, and the romance is sub-par. For one, the MC who’s initially passive for the most part begins manipulating the Heroines, even going so far as to drugging one which as far as I’m concerned is r*pe, there being no tag for this listed. This bringing me to the romance, or rather lack of it. The MC’s... more>> constant manipulation of the Heroines feelings leaves you feeling like nothing is genuine. Not to mention that their relationships are majorly focused on the physical aspect (smut) which are poorly written and repetitive due to how often they happen.

Honestly wouldn’t recommend reading this, but I guess you can give it a shot if you have absolutely nothing better to read. <<less
