This novel is more geared toward women, the male lead is submissive in and outside the bedroom and he only has one love intetest, the female lead. That aside its a well written novel.

The whole business with the side chatacter Jin is also interesting, I'm sure the author pist off a ton of readers with the Jin incident so he wrote him off immediately after in a panic.

The story is not bad but does rely on quite a bit of double standard. Not necessarily a judgment but it might annoy some people while other find it completely okay.

Said double standard is the usual ''A man is always happy about s*xual relations with a hot and pure women''.

Which admittedly is true for many men but I want to make clear that the situation in the novel would be a lot more disturbing if the genders were reversed.

... more>> Do with that information what you will.

That said, it obviously a romance and she is clearly falling for the MC quite quickly, so it's not like stuff will stay problematic.

On a completely related note, that is the only Korean novel that I know were the MC only has one love interest while a secondary male character (the mc's subordinate/friend) has a huge harem. <<less

To be honest, considering the "summary", I thought it would just be p*rn, so I dismissed it at first, but I somehow ended up reading it later, and the first part was actually pretty enjoyable.

The story is about your usual transmigrator sent to a novel's world after leaving an angry comment to the author. The novel in question was supposed to be a romance novel with a female protagonist, archduchess Luna, but by the end of the story she had rejected all suitors and declared she was married to her... more>> duchy... The MC transmigrates after the ending and ends up entering the city guards. But during his first mission under the direct command of the duchess, they get attacked and the FMC is drugged by the assaillant to prevent her from using her strengh as a swordmaster... And here you get the Chinese webnovel trope of an aphrodisiac that'll kill you if you don't do it... so they do it (she properly gives her consent after thinking it through, so it's not exactly r@pe, but still not a very consensual start). Afterwards they act as if nothing happened and go their separate ways, but the MC becomes one of her secretaries after a while and a secret relationship slowly develops.

Good point: the author actually takes time properly developing their relationship. Months (and chapters) pass before they start seeing each other. Also, there is a more to their relationship than s€x. She is a bit broken (she can't fully trust others), but she really tries to get closer to him and understand him (he is way more simple, going with the flow, even thinking about leaving most of the time) ; she also uses him efficiently as a retainer. Their dynamic is still a bit disturbing (with Luna pushing for s€x regardless of his opinion).

Good point: the story is both about romance and territory development, and it's a relatively good blend.

Spoiler

The author is clearly awkward with how to handle the "sent to a medieval-like period" setting (and unable to consider many aspects), but he's careful not to go overboard with a MC who suddenly becomes an all-knowing genius just because he's from modern times (he often dismissingly sees others as 'primitives', though). He only introduces basic things that anyone can know and understand and he doesn't even know how to properly develop or take advantage of them (he 'invents' basic printing but doesn't invent the actual press, for example). Even his economic 'ideas' are a total gamble based on weak knowledge and modern logic; it just somehow works out in the end due to circumstances he never even considered (like having a direct access to the sea).

Spoiler

The author uses tropes relatively well by not pushing them too far most of the time. For example, the MC has the 'reverse luck' trait (when he tries to achieve something his actions lead him further away from his goal, making him a bit miserable at first, but leading him to a better fate in the long run) ; still, in other novels, the MC usually fails at failing, but here Aiden doesn't try to fail and accomplishes what he sets out to do; it's just that he doesn't consider the consequences of his actions properly and how impactful they can be.

[collapse]

Bad point: The war part... Just because they are from other races, not only do they steal their territories without a second thought, but they also indiscriminately annihilate them. It's basically a genocide justified by the territory's economy, but somehow, the author tries to make it seem lighthearted... This world's residents seeing it as normal is one thing, but shouldn't the MC be disturbed by this fact? And it solves itself way too easily.

Bad point: The rampant s€xism. But, yeah, it's a Korean novel... what did I expect? The author keeps making it look like, as long as you're handsome, everything goes and women would do everything and anything for you like braindead creatures. Also, the MC agrees to give up on his plans in litteraly one second just for s€x... He is also violently dismissing the orcs as partners (to be r@ped by) because they are ugly while he would be totally OK with the elves... Just don't be OK with any of this! Nobody wants to get r@ped, whether the partner is good-looking or not is irrelevant.

Spoiler

For people who hated (like I did) the chapter where Jin makes it look like he's ready to get punished in any way by Aiden while clearly knowing that, with their power difference, it would do nothing to him (basically mocking him)... know that just after that, Luna literally destroys Jin. She cuts his path to knighthood, then Jin provokes her to a duel to reverse the judgement. He loses pitifully and she cuts and burns his hands before exiling him.

[collapse]

Bad point (about the translation) : There are quite a lot of problems with pronouns in the translation, which sometimes results in a completely wrong translation (the subject of the sentence being the wrong person, for exemple).

Very bad point: I'm removing one more star because it slowly lost its shine after the war ended. The author didn't have much more to tell, and the story took a shift. The s€x part became the center point. He quickly solved the 'suitors' problem', too.

Spoiler

And then there's that r*pe thing with Taylor that ends in a happy marriage... Taylor is hateful, but the author went way too far with this one.

This would've been a 4/5 novel but honestly deserves a 2.5/5 because of Jin. It's seriously so disgusting and annoying seeing this guy brought up. I hate the author and Jin. Makes me think of dropping them in the ocean with their feet in concrete. Edit: I take it back, this novel deserves a 0.5/5 after reading chapter 55. It's honestly so egregious. I'm dropping the novel. I hope the author loses the ability to write any novels and creative capabilities. Disgusting human being. Even calling him human makes me... more>> feel like garbage and is an insult to the human race. It's like stepping in dog poop on a walk, it ruins your day. well to be honest this isnt just p*rn but a top tier romance vanilla that slowly takes their step to their relationship, it start very slow at first. Additionally, it's a world-building about economics, how he fixed their primitive system.

The intimacy between Luna and MC is just so sweet, but they aren't lovers, which makes it more interesting to see where it is going. Luna still refuses to acknowledge she has feelings for the MC despite how sweet and intimate they are, which, you know, is an outstanding and very... more>> curious development to wait

About the character, Luna is an excellent and interesting character, she's a gap moe character, which is extremely cold to others but not to MC,
Spoiler

she drains MC almost every day

The MC is an Actual Modern person who uses his brain fr.

I was worried about AsianInvasion111's review about Jin in ch 47 and 55, but it turned out to be nothing <<less
