I Really Am a Slag Shou!

Chi Zhao binds with the slag shou system, and if he succeeds in his missions, he will be rewarded.

But who said life is easy!

A rich old man who was slagged by him: “I know you love me. Your past pains, I’ve already investigated them.”

The star admiral who had been slagged by him: “Don’t be reluctant anymore! I’ve always known that you didn’t betray me.”

The entertainment mogul who was slagged by him: “Don’t make any noise. Honey, will you come home with me?”

The prince regent who was slagged by him said, “The mountains and rivers are yours, but you are mine.”

The dark sentinel who was slagged by him: “Now, do you still want to say that it is not my child?”

Chi Zhao burst into tears: “Boss, believe me just this once. Let me get the reward, okay?”

Thinking that the acting is very good, in fact, every day he’s spreading meng.

I'm the kind of reader who discovered this story late but still wants to leave my mark.

To the author who might be able to see my comments, and to the translator who was an extraordinary intermediary who allowed me to get to know one of these great stories..

Thank you for all your hard work 🫶🫶

To be honest, I have read this story before. Whether it was last year, or 2021. I really forgot. While reading the story, I suddenly felt, aaaaah I'm familiar with this story. And yeah, I saw... more>> traces of my reading on Watpadd.

I had a different feeling when I read this story the second time. I don't know, I feel that the second time this story is quite difficult for readers like me who can't stand conflict. In 7 Arcs, MC really found a lot of problems getting together with ML 🥹🥹

If it weren't for the HE at the end of every arc, I think I would be very frustrated 🥲🥲 as the title suggests, Chi Zao's character is required to be a super evil annoying Shou. And because our cute Chi Zao is an innocent and sweet person, the process of completing the mission is really full of problems.

But this process is really worth following.

One of the stories that is worthy of your free time🫶 <<less

First two arcs I was feeling 5 stars but then it felt kinda average after that, until the last two arcs which I liked! One of those world hopping novels that starts off strong but has a hard time keeping every arc consistently good.

This is a mostly comedic novel, driven by the hilarious interactions between characters. The ML has such a large brain hole when it comes to the MC, and the system is also a unique character of its own, with the way it's always bemoaning the plot deviations... more>> being particularly hilarious. Really enjoyed the MC as well, he's a very lighthearted and cute character, smart but wears his emotions on his sleeve, and his personality slowly develops over the course of the novel very naturally. It was really cool to see how much he changed from the first world to the last.

Some notes I took on each arc:
Spoiler

Arc 1 - Ch 1 - Rich CEO/Adopted son

This was probably the strongest arc for me in terms of plot development, which makes sense since it's the first. I will say that reading QWFOD before this desensitized me to the age gap but mild warning there, it's pseudo-in*est after all.

Spoiler

I cried when MC realized his feelings and told his system that he couldn't bear to betray ML and cause him the pain of not being able to trust again.

[collapse]

Arc 2 - Ch 30 - Admiral/Rich second generation

This was also a good arc! I really liked the older brother. There was good plot buildup and the backstory actually made me sympathetic to the OG body as the whole situation was pretty terrible for him.

Spoiler

The admiral and older brother really had the biggest brains, and I definitely appreciated them working out the situation from context clues. I cried again, when MC and ML finally confessed their mutual love and devotion to each other. It was such a sweet moment.

[collapse]

Arc 3 - Ch 53 - Sick CEO/Actor

A heart wrenching backstory with the most toxic love story, really don't know how I feel about this one. Liked it and also was ready to move on. I'm impressed with MC's ability to fall in love with every protagonist at this point.

Arc 4 - Ch 85 - Prince Regent/Emperor

This is like reverse wife chasing where the wife abuses but the husband still wants them back. Warning for the questionable age gap but do keep in mind they're both mentally of age.

Spoiler

This is also an arc where the MC didn't really seem to know how he felt about the ML by the end. But also the endings are really rushed for each arc so who really knows.

[collapse]

Arc 5 - Ch 110 - Sentinel/Guide

This was a weak plot line for me, not much happened in terms of relationship development. The kid was cute! But I was definitely bored by the end, and a bit disappointed there was no real detail about their kids life as he grew up, though this was as expected with the rushed endings of each arc.

Arc 6 - Ch 131 - Adopted son/father

Back at it again with the questionable age gap and pseudo in*est except now with roles reversed! Kind of funny how it went from a wholesome healing family of three in the last arc to a f*cked up family with an evil head and 7 adopted children, MC really can't catch a break for long.

Arc 7 - Ch 155 - Cultivation world

Right before this arc, the overarching plot line is revealed, and it was definitely not what I was expecting. Pretty interesting concept I'll say! But it does make it clear that this will be the last world, probably because the author didn't want to write any more arcs hahaha. Also a world without the system! Which was sad, I missed their banter.

The age gap in this one is just funny at this point, with 15 year old MC and

Spoiler

600+ year old cultivator ML. I kind of love the elder senior brother and junior brother dynamic though so might have to seek a story out with just that type of relationship...

[collapse]

Real World - Ch 176

Now this was a pleasant surprise having the ML be the one to have memories while the MC now is the amnesiac. The dynamic was too funny of:

Spoiler

ML: Hello boyfriend

MC (at his blind date) : I swear I have never seen this man before in my life

[collapse]
[collapse]

Overall I did like it, especially since MC fell for the ML in each universe thinking that it was a different person each time. I don't like harems but this felt a bit different and I did really enjoy the process of MC falling in love all over again even with his previous memories. The yandere ML is pretty standard for me at this point and I actually like an obsessive stalker boyfriend type in novels, it makes things more interesting.

Minor thing too (which is a big spoiler so don't open if you haven't read lol) is
Spoiler

if 1 year in reality is 50 years in VR, then why would anyone choose to spend any time in reality when they can live multiple lifetimes in VR? Am I missing something here? The emotions, people, and everything else seem to be just as real in VR as in actual reality is all, so I don't see what you'd be missing out on. Just something that bothered me at the end about ML's world.

This was a tragic but happy kind of quick transmigration. The MC was forced to live in 5 tragic arcs but ended up turning each plot into a happy ending and counterattacking the original plot. All the MLs are the same person.

Arc 1 Rich old man (adoptive son x adoptive father) *FAVORITE

Arc 2 Interstellar Admiral (this was also a very good one)

... more>> Arc 3 Entertainment world one (actor x sick CEO) tragic with the back story kind it's about psychology and hypnosis and kidnapping

Arc 4 Historical world (Emperor x Prince Regent) difficulty x 2 the ML in he plot is reborn so the counterattack was very stressful.

Arc 5 interstellar guideverse (guide x dark sentinel) *FAVORITE I would read this novel just for this arc! They have a kid! Their spiritual animals are so cute too 😭❤️ this was a breath of fresh air amongst the more tragic arcs. The system called it a vacation world.

Arc 6 little wolfhound (father x adopted son) no animal characteristics. This was one of the worst when it comes to how tragic the original plotline would've been. It's like he MC is a mafia boss (company is in the white now tho but it still functions the same as a mafia family.) and the ML is one of he kids he adopted and tortured into becoming the perfect heir. The original body is total tr*sh. But the ending was one of my favorites*

Arc 7 cultivation world (junior brother yin constitution x senior brother yang constitution) this was a normal world without any assigned plot (something the ML purchased). I cried about their master and his lover. That plus the insecurities the MC was feeling.

Real world: Happy Ending! The ML comes searching for the MC and the MC later gets his memory back. Plus his mom is such a force 🤣 no wonder the MC is the way he is. <<less

Plot: After dying young in his first life, the MC Chi Zhao was approached by a Slag Shou System that promised to give him a chance of resurrection as long as he plays out his role as a slag shou and finishes his missions accordingly. The MC agrees and proceeds to be sent to one world after another.

Major Spoilers: ... more>>
Spoiler

Although I haven't read everything, it's quite clear that the protagonist in each world that the MC visits is the same soul. There's something going on in the background with the SS System and the Main System, but IDK about that yet! In any case, MC fails horribly at fulfilling his mission each time and his chances of success just continue to decrease as he goes along with the resonance of his and ML's souls.

[collapse]

Thoughts: My thoughts on the plot are that it is very similar to another novel I read recently 'Heroic Death System', because of that, I found myself comparing the two constantly T.T It's partly the reason why I stopped reading at 96! So... next time, I'll have to read this first jsalkfjsalf At the moment, not sure if it's biased, I can't help but think that, while the plot and premise is good, it feels like it's lacking something.

More specifically, I feel rather empty whenever a story arc finishes. Each arc ends in a happy ending. But, just like how the MC changes his perception on romance after every completed universe, it's easy to feel numb to it. It feels like its angst all the time and that the MC and ML aren't really compatible with each other (more on this below!)

Characters:

  • MC (Chi Zhao) : He's kind and very bad at acting. In the first world, he maintains a good boy appearance while revealing stronger and darker parts of himself -- which only continue to grow the more worlds he encounters.
  • SS System: The Slag Shou System in this novel has a lot of personality! It's also very scheming...
  • ML:
    Spoiler

As mentioned in the earlier spoiler, the ML is really the same soul in all the worlds so far. However, his personality is different in each one until the point that he meets and falls in love with he MC. After which, he turns into a yandere!

    [collapse]
Thoughts: I felt that the characters in this novel are very strong, but that their dynamics are pretty weak. Compatibility and chemistry are nonexistent and it feels like the MC is just being swept on his feet each time after the ML falls in love with him... Maybe that gets better as the story gets further??? I'm not sure.

Rating: My rating for this novel for now is a solid 3/5! Like I said in the beginning, I think part of my hesitation is because I read a similar story very recently and it's clouding my mind. So, I'll leave it alone for now and just reread it later with a fresh mind! Maybe I'll like it better then. <<less

A simple QT with a nice smooth pace, an average skilled MC with a devoted and pitiful ML. I felt the MC is competent at some times but the system definitely annoyed me, sometimes you wont even remember theres a system.

The translation is really great, KKtranslates really did amazing, everything was coherent and clean, I wasnt pulled out of the story. So I mostly enjoyed this relaxed past time cause of this translation.

The title I feel is a misdirect cause theres no slagging happening here, the MC doesnt have a... more>> harem of people willing to be slagged.

The tags are mostly accurate except for mpreg, I think... its mostly childcare. The novel likes to play with grey lines of morality especially with the age gap and relationships of the MC and ML.

I was disappointed with the Arc 5?, felt it was rushed and all the potential of that story got lost, I wish there was more childcare plot, not the weird in*estuous kind that arc 1 or arc 6 has.

There isnt a lot of dogblood drama and its nice. Its not a novel Ill reread but its a good one. Honestly the story is a 3.4 stars <<less

I jumped over the first chapter, believing I had already read it - in fatc i. Had not, it was just to same-ish «

i got hooked by the second, and mostly enjoyed until the 4th to 5th universe, the 6this too gruesome, the 7th brings too little

there are quite a few flaws in there, starting with the « slag » thing : basically the system asked a normal guy to perform worse than evil dids - luckily it won’t work, but unbalance starts there, lies deception and contradictions are heavy... more>> sometimes fun, but mostly an hindrance

supposedly, from the start, that sum of betrayal are made to make the protagonist « reborn » into a better self - but honestly that would only make him a depressive sociopath at best - so that’s a second huge flaw - it takes long to understand why the protagonists must suffer, but the initial plan that gets forever broken by the bad slag stil never made sense

Mostly, the relationship thing is rather painful and forced, the MC deny it as it seems to dangerous in the beginning, then keep on making things hard and painful : for the job - it’s already bothersome enough. From the second episode, him being deprived of some emotions serves as a reason to make his relationship dull, and dull it is : it’s cute, but as romance goes, it’s poor and dull

The stories themselves have some interest, even the last one (not the 6th) - there a bit of something to discover and solve and a few philosophical questions to explore (lightly), or so I remember. In the end, the plot is mostly entertaining and I spent a good time reading, but can’t find much to remember as I finished it <<less

I kinda cannot decide if it was ok or good... it was probably just ok and not that original but I liked it... I read some low rating reviews here but I cannot say that I fully agree with them. So in overall it was the best QT I read so far, I did not like others at all, even famous QWtFoD (which probably was just too long, idk, I kinda binge read that one too but still did not like it while I kinda liked this one). So 3.5... more>> stars? Just because I like it more, not because it is really much better.

P.s. I loved how ML could find explanation to all bad things MC did, was pretty funny and so far from the truth.)))

Upd: just realised that misplacement game is QT too so MG is better that this one, imo, but this one is still better than QtWFoD, imo. <<less

This was a really enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is still hesitating. Though the worlds' may not be entirely innovative, the writing style and plot progression and characters makes up of this.

There was sufficient character growth and this could been seen in the MC's changing attitude to his situation, whether this was acceptance, anger, numbness, sadness, happiness, all these emotions were intricately woven feelings where layered on throughout his journey in the different worlds. Most importantly, I appreciate the MC for never crossing his own... more>> bottom line and staying true to his principals despite knowing what was at jeopardy. Though,

Personally, I would have liked for the MC and ML to have better communication as this would have resulted in fewer misunderstandings as at times it felt as though their interpretation of particular situations was as far as north and south. However, I guess that could be a plot device the author employed to further increase the angst between the two characters.

The ML was an interesting character, not the sort of one dimensional ML commonly found in BL novels which was rather refreshing. He felt rather well padded out, with plenty of shortcomings but these were equally balanced out by his good attributes. Noticeably, he is possessive but I don't feel that this possiveness came from a place of wanting to control the MC but rather from the fear of losing the MC. So, he may have been possessive but I wouldn't call him entirely selfish.

Ahh the system was cute and actually not annoying! I think I've previously dropped a few QT novels just because of how annoying and intrusive the systems were. The interactions it had with the host were funny and sincere balancing out the plot. I never felt that the system tired to control the MC, though arguably it did happen once, but I also somewhat agreed with the way the MC rationalised that situation (despite it being at the emotional detriment of the poor ML).

Anyway, I could go on and on, but it's best I stopped and let you read it and decide for yourself.

As always thank you Author and equally thank you to the translators for doing such a wonderful job 😊 <<less

I wanted to like this because it seemed like it was an easy read, but the ML is too intense for me. I didn't get too far into the story, but I read the previous reviews and it seems like the ML retains the same personality throughout all the transmigrations so I had to drop it.

I see all the other reviews saying this book is sweet and full of cute moments, but I felt like I was eating salt when I read most of the chapters. My instincts tell me... more>> there's probably going to be dubcon in the story later on, and some of the reviews mention it so I'm dropping this before I take any chances.

Spoiler

I only read up to the rich old man part, so I don't really know how the rest of the story goes. I guess some people might find the ML's actions to be romantic for some reason, but I think putting a tracking device on the MC is a bit too stalker like for me. There's not enough cute moments in the book so he just ended up seeming like a creep, especially when you take in consideration the MC is 18...

[collapse]

Personally, I dropped this because the ML is a walking red flag which I usually find entertaining but the MC is the innocent type, not the calculating type so the dynamic just felt off. This book is just not for me. <<less

IRAASS Is easily one of the best yaoi novels I have read on this website. A cute MC, a yandre ML who is soft for the MC, tons of chapters with an incredibly easy-to-read English translation and a fantastic storyline? What's not to love?

I won't go into it, but just know that if you start this journey you won't regret it. Just read the tags first please, as most of the negative reviews were surprised the ML was obsessive and possessive.

I love this novel so much!!! ❤️ The plot and the writing are really good. The characters are also amazing.

If only the author could extend the part where they are together in each world a bit longer. It'd be a more marvellous read. 😢 I feel somehow abused when the story suddenly ended after a long period of emotional torture. I almost stopped reading in the 3rd arc tbh, my heart aches for the ML in every arcs, but it's especially more in this one. Fortunately, the later arcs are... more>> not so torturing.

This is one of a few novels where I like both MC and ML personalities a lot, including the systems. Although the ML feels really sick in the virtual world (he has mental health issues in most of the world, which is unsurprising since their relationships are pretty much toxic), he's very cute and devoted to MC in real life. And even when he obviously has mental health problems, he still cares a lot about MC and never force him in anything. <<less

It was a fun ride. I enjoyed reading this novel and also have to say that it’s better than most QTs I’ve read. Unfortunately, the overall arc plots lack a certain depth.

First of all, like most reviewers, I loved the dynamic between the MC and ML. It was honestly refreshing. I liked that the MC wasn’t the average OP MC but also wasn’t the weak and coddled type; these can be good but usually lack substance if not written well. He’s more of the simple, nice cliche. As for the... more>> ML... well, just about what you’d expect. Possessive, domineering, the like. Wasn’t a bad thing, though.

Most touching of all was there relationship. Both the MC and ML suffered through so much angst and the pain of separation, yet they’re still madly in love and determined to be together. I absolutely adored the sincerity of their relationship.

Now, onto the arcs. Some were extremely entertaining, while others were either average or quite lackluster. Honestly, they varied in impressions. Might add detailed reviews on each arc later, I don’t know.

I recommend this danmei for those who are looking to kill time. There are better QTs out there, but this one could be worth the time. It was enough to keep me entertained. <<less

I understand the slightly mixed up reviews after reading this novel.

Mainly it's an OK read if Ur looking for QT.

PROS have been clearly mentioned by ppl so I'm skipping that. I have 2 main CONS due to which I'm not rating it a 4star i.e. PLOT & MC/ML characters.

... more>> Plot wasn't exciting/thrilling and u can guess what may happen after reading one or two arcs. The concept gets repetitive.

Simply knowing that the ML will fall for u no matter what is boring.

So the plot although not bad, is a bit of a fail.

HOWEVER!! If u don't mind the pure romantic concept, it MAY NOT be a problem 4 U.

Regarding the MC & ML, The MC is too normal and has no particular strengths. His character is too "Kind" due to which he fails to clear the plot. But it honestly feels like he doesn't particularly work to clear the plot. I would have rather that he worked really hard to clear the plot but failed than what happens in the novel. I'm pretty sure I read a QT like that b4 but can't remember d name.

Anyways, The ML is ok but is d typical cold blooded/ruthless type who fell in love with the kind & sassy? MC. Felt a bit Mary Sue-ish for me. <<less

I had minimal expectations, but this was actually not a bad QT novel. You’ve seen it all before: world-hopping, following-the-plot-but-derailing-badly, an ML who’s determined to follow you through every world, a system that’s beguilingly cute, an MC who just wants to stick to the plot, & most importantly: HAPPY ENDINGS IN EACH WORLD.

I made sure to double-check that each world had a HE lest I suffer the same heartache caused by other angsty, abuse-filled QT novels. Not to say that there isn’t ML-abuse in this novel... because there’s... more>> quite the amount. I really did enjoy reading though! I think the author did a good job of selecting & utilizing the better qualities from a QT novel whilst adding on a personal flair. The background & world-building for the system is pretty unique imo & I like how it all pieced together. MY MAIN GRIPE is the fact that MC took ages to reach the epiphany that the man he’s been falling for in every world is the same person. Like come on! There were so many hints & I know MC isn’t that dense (or is he?) ! I love the baby system too; I am super on board with the whole daddy system x slag system ship & no one can pull me overboard! <<less

I saw a lot of mixed reviews about this novel, but honestly, compared to some of the recent novels I've read, this one was very very enjoyable and a much better QT than many of the existing ones out there.

Pros:

  • Really good reasoning and backstory for the Quick Transmigration setup
  • Reasonable worldbuilding
  • Character development (yes, you'll actually see the MC change, the relationship between MC and ML also change, and it was written better than usual in this type of QT novel)
  • Relationship does not remain stagnant
  • Non-repetitive. This is one of the less repetitive QT type novels I've read in a very long-ass time. (I consider novels like FOD and Who Touched My Tail! very repetitive)
  • Good balance of emo/angst and fluff/happiness (there's not a lot of filler, the pacing was very well done)
  • ML is a typical overbearing ML, BUT he grows into someone who never forces the MC and respects the MC's boundaries
  • ML pretty much slowly becomes a better person through each arc progression
  • Side-characters and villains weren't super one-dimensional. Balanced and enjoyable read.
Cons:

  • Limited by QT genre (some people find it more repetitive than typical fantasy, I personally like bite-sized worlds)
  • Some of the early humor / reasoning might not get past readers and might be a bit annoying (I'm used to it having read other QT novels)
  • Cold and overbearing ML (there's just way too many of these in fiction)
I actually wish this one was longer... very sad to see it end.

Great translation, enjoyed it a lot.

AMAZING. Just, this is so good! Amazing story, writing, and translation. 10/10 recommended

At first I was suspicious/annoyed since the system seems to just want to torture the ML in these worlds, but apparently there IS a reason.

Poor MC also went through a hell of emotional and mental roller coaster.

I wish there were few more chapters on that and not just an ambiguous ending. 😜 *********Original review**********

This is cute, light and romantic. The relationship between the MC & ML goes through ups and downs but not too much. I did feel bad for the ML at some instances but I'm glad that these angsty parts were there. What I liked was that this ML had other things to worry about in each world along with his boundless, albeit twisted love for MC.

The MC is not too cunning but not too dumb. His personality is a good combo of cute and strong, though I sometimes hated his fixation regarding the plot. It's understandable since he didn't have exact information about his situation before Arc 6 and he was terrified about losing his body in the real world. He wasn't too feminine and had his own strong points. Most of all, he wasn't a damsel in distress.

This novel is not a heavy read but there are certain parts that seemed a little depressing especially

Salute!! I love this!!!

  1. It's just so satisfying with every arc. There's really no point where I find myself feeling awkward or cringe anywhere in the story. For me, this is just so perfect, my cup of tea really.
  2. I think this one is a much better than QWTFOD, where the story not only focuses what the MC does to salvage the situation, but ML really plays a huge part on his side. I mean they work both, and it progresses the romance.
  3. I also notice that the character building is so very good, to the point that you really can relate to them. I really prefer the kind of MC, ML and system we have here.
  4. The MC and ML are really made for each other. Just like the other quick transmigration, the ML has no memories from their previous world but his feelings for the MC remains the same. Whereas MC, has his memories but his feelings got filtered out so it's like starting on a clean slate again.
  5. This story is so sweet, so sweet that I find myself so envious at times, , thinking that I wish I could have my own ML like this.
  6. There's a time when I find myself sobbing because this novel can really pull your heartstrings. I love both MC and ML and their sweet romance.
  7. MC is not your typical mary sue. Or those who are timid and whatever. MC here can be cute or adorable and at times cool and also funny. He acts properly and as necessary as how he should. I never get tired of him.
  8. ML is also somewhat like other MLs, the possessive type, except that I can somehow understand where he's coming from. I mean he has his own reasons. And he's so affectionate towards MC. He just can't help falling in love with him and not hate him. Because really, , MC is really likeable!
  9. The system... oh the system is so cute. He can act like a bully or he can act like a nanny, and sometimes system is also adorable and funny. He's not the typical system of other novels who sells meng. He acts in accordance to how he should. And you just can't help liking him.
I am only at arc 3 so I still have a long way to go but this story already gave me a lot of positive feels so I can't help giving it a... more>> review even though I seldom do this.

I like how the feelings this story gives me and I like the characters. I wish that after I finish this one, I'll be able to find another satisfying story like this.

This is among my Top 3. As for the other two.. is it alright to say it here?? hah. forget it.

I'll end it here, , I'm still excited to continue the story ^^, <<less

Each arc was really interesting to see how the ML would fall in love with the MC, the ending was a little rushed but all in all a great past time and fluff story!
