Chi Zhengzheng became vegetative, lying in bed, motionless.

A CP-free novel suddenly appeared in her mind …

In the original novel, a car accident left the Chi family’s daughter in a coma.

The engagement had to go on, and Chi Zhengzheng’s fiancé, the younger son of the Wen family, was not willing.

Unwilling to offend the Chi family, the Wen family lets the unpopular eldest young master, Wen Yu, take over.

The indifferent Wen Yu became a joke in the circle.

The young man, Wen Yu, was the male lead of this CP-free novel, has built a huge business empire.

In just one year, with a wave of his hand, he destroyed both the Chi family and the Wen family, opening the way for the CP-free male lead’s road to dominance.

His nominal wife, Chi Zhengzheng, also passed away quietly after being a vegetable for a year.

After reading the whole story, Chi Zhengzheng shivered in fear and suddenly opened her eyes – just in time to lock eyes with Wen Yu.

Oh, so handsome.

Chi Zhengzheng: “… Husband!!!”

Wen Yu: ???

Hi! I'm the (self-proclaimed) MTLer for this novel. I found this while scrolling through jjwxc and wanted to share it with you all.

One thing I like about this web novel is that it isn't the usual "FL transmigrates into a romance novel" trope. Instead, she transmigrates into a CP-free novel - meaning that the male lead of the story has no character pairing. Sure, we have our typical white lotus An Qinru x brainless man Wen Yiran, but they are simply side characters in the novel, unlike being the original... more>> main leads.

The FL is not a Mary Sue. She is not OP, either.

Spoiler

The FL is our everyday employee and gets hit by a truck when she gets off from work (truck-kun, is that you?). She is an average citizen that pretty much everyone can relate to.

Our FL has her own insecurities. She wonders if the no CP fate of our ML cannot be changed, and if Wen Yu is only kind to her because she is his fiancee. She knows that the face and body she has does not belong to her, and questions if Wen Yu really likes herself. And the answer is proven that, yes, Wen Yu truly loves Chi Zhengzheng.

[collapse]

However, our FL is pragmatic. She tries to change her fate and that of those around her. She uses her sharp tongue toward those who deserve it, and she is not afraid of being blunt and straightforward, leading to several hilarious scenes in the story.

Our ML is someone who has suffered a lot, and goes through character development.

Spoiler

Wen Yu has grown up without love, as he is the unfavored young master of the Wen family. The reason our ML was able to start his own business and endure the ridicule from Wen family is all because of his own will and strength.

[collapse]

The story is rather realistic as none of the characters are 2D. Whether it's FL's parents and younger brother Chi Zhouchen, the arrogant Wen Sisi, or even An Qinru and Wen Yiran, they all have their own reasons for doing what they do. These people are much more complex than they seem.

Spoiler

Reading about the characters made me ask myself many questions. Is love dominated by possessiveness, self-interest, and jealousy, or by selflessness that leads to self-sacrifice for the loved one? And can you really change fate when your destiny is already written out before you?

[collapse]

Does it have a happy ending?

Spoiler

Yes, it has a HE.

[collapse]

I only translated the first chapter, so feel free to pick it up. Why is it that I can write such a long review for webnovels but I'm always stuck on my English essays? o (* ̄︶ ̄*) o

Enjoy! <<less

I cried ya'll HAHAHAHA

They are both lonely in the same sense. The FL do not feel loved in her family while the ML was mistreated. They found their home in each other. I feel bad to FL because of her family. She knows she is unhappy in that house but she also knew that that ML suffers more. Their dialogue in the car really touches my heart. When she went back coma was really unexpected but I think that part really made them closer to each other.

Hayyys Where can I... more>> find someone like that? My single ass is f*cking jealous <<less

It was fun until the ML realized his feelings lol. So quick. So fast. Where's the fun and thrill? Hahaha. The FL kept assuming things and did kinda s*upidest thing. I stopped reading around chapter 60s, lowkey desperately wanted to stop reading at around 30s because I got bored. FL did almost nothing the entire story, only picked up translation jobs because the og FL didn't even graduate from University (which doesn't really influence the plot), and she's practically leeching off the ML as she lived in his house. There... more>> are too many aspects I'm not satisfied with the FL. She didn't try to communicate, she overthinks and never asks. Sometimes she acts just like a high schooler despite her age.

Subjectively speaking, the writing is mediocre, the plot is so-so, the face slapping... Well, the only aspect that's kinda satisfying, though we been know from the start because the story went exactly like the og novel, with a few changes here and there.

Unlike another Chinese transmigration stories, where the plots went astray (which sometimes becomes a plot hole), this one barely did so. There's not much about their romance, it's basically he courting her but she was kind of oblivious. Then the usual trope, the yandere ML wanna trap the FL for himself yada yada << I stopped at this point, not because of his personality, it's just the author writing frustrates me (when will this story end?????)

Some people said it's fluff, for me it's kinda bland. Maybe if you like the story where the FL actions altered the plot, this one is not for you, because the story is mostly about the ML’s OPness. <<less

Rated a 5* just to bump up the rating a little, the novel is around a 4* (´。• ◡ •。`)

A sweet and uncomplicated novel with a pretty realistic and cheery FL. This novel is focused more on the relationship between the FL and ML. There are enough face-slapping scenes to feel refreshed but also not too much to take up the majority of the novel!

It's a little surprising to see so much dislike for the FL, sure she's ordinary but at least she's not overly dense or unreasonable. Bear... more>> in mind that she had just transmigrated into the novel and knows how capable the ML is so I can't fault her for being a little careful when interacting with him, especially when she knows she's literally nothing to him. At least she's not like those FL that says things they don't mean just to please the ML or those who panic over every little thing and ended making a fool of themselves ┐ (︶▽︶) ┌

Also, with her being ordinary I don't see how bad it is? She's just an ordinary worker in her real world so you can't expect her to suddenly be OP after transmigration. The ori!FL didn't have any outstanding skills either. In the later chapters she wanted to go out and find a job but the ML didn't really want her to so it don't think it's fair to say she's a total free loader. More spoilers below-

Spoiler

The ML in the novel is powerful and basically triumphs over everyone, seemingly needing no one. Although capable but also lonely as it feels like he's mindlessly going after revenge without any feelings until he met the FL and knew what warmth is. I like how the FL and him came together to be each others' solace and home. The FL gets shy but have never rejected the ML's advances. The ML started to be a little over possessive after he and the FL got together due to his fear of her leaving him but he was still respectful.

Regarding the initial romance, although the ML kissed her once and treated her well, their relationship is still based on an engagement that neither agreed on. The FL wanting verbal confirmation is not out of line because she didn't know if the ML is good to her because of their status or because he really liked her. (Although that one part where she left the house because she wanted to pursue the ML properly and in the end got fetched back by the ML on the very same day is kinda redundant LOL.) Still, I like how she didn't give up on the ML despite knowing he's not "written" to have a lover in the novel and instead wanted to try to pursue him.

FL's family started out as those cliché brainless family who believe the white lotus over their daughter but did kinda get redemption especially the FL's brother. Understandably they're not in close terms with the FL in the end. The face slapping is quite alright and the antagonists didn't have a good end.

[collapse]

Overall, I think this novel is worth a try at least for the romance and don't worry it's a HE! (´ ω `) ノ゙ <<less

MC has this really annoying habit of punishing the ML for not reading her mind instead of communicating like a normal person. She throws a tantrum when the ML misunderstands her when she doesn’t give any indication what she’s actually thinking?? It’s incredibly obnoxious especially when you take into account how considerate the ML is to her. Even before seeing how they resolve conflicts, the actual romance isn’t very interesting nor built up well.

Story has all the typical cliches:

  • Mary-sue MC - check
  • Typical cold OP ML - check
    • Unnecessary and tragic ML backstory - double check
  • White lotus 2FL who is related to MC and has irrational hatred and jealousy of MC - check
  • MC's scummy ex who falls in love with the MC and regrets getting with 2FL - check
  • s*upid, petty, gossipy side characters
  • Everyone except the MC, ML and his subordinates are dumb and mean
Ok, so starting off, I knew it was going to be cliche but seeing how it wasn't too long (under 100 chapters),... more>> and I was a bit bored, I thought of giving it a try. The rating was pretty high as well, so I thought might as well give it a try, who knows, it might be a gem. But nope, it's the typical cliche transmigration CEO story.

Pros

Spoiler
  1. Story was short, so events did not drag. To be honest, if was over 100 chapters, I would have dropped this.
  2. The one surprise I got, was the friendship between MC's former enemy, who later became her best friend. That was sweet.
    [collapse]
Cons

Spoiler
  1. ML is too unreasonably OP, it didn't' make sense. I feel like to make him more OP, the author dumbs down ML's dad and MC's dad a lot. So much for running a business empire for so long. Even if ML secretly created a business empire himself that was so successful in a few years, it didn't make sense for ML's dad to follow this new business tycoon unconditionally after being in this ruthless field for so long. (Relying on others' research and not doing their own).
    1. I also found it contradictory for others to comment on his amazing looks and his "aura" and yet, in the same sentence, say he is "un-noticeable." I also find it weird how people would be commenting on how deeply hidden he is when that doesn't really seem to be the case. He wears fancy clothes, and given the situation with his family, this should be odd, but people just ignore that. Also, I feel like the author wants to make the MC's brother smart and grow up by making him suspect ML's identity, while everyone else is somehow not curious and clueless.
  2. MC and ML's romance is typical, cliche and personally, I found it boring. I found myself skipping their scenes (which is a first since I am usually a lover of romance), and just reading the scenes with the side characters. I was reading more of the scenes with the villains, their dumb action, downfall/face slap and regret.
  3. The MC's sudden coma after the revenge was completed was unnecessary to me.
    [collapse]
Despite the cons, I do feel that maybe if I was newer to these stories and a few years younger, I probably would have enjoyed this more. <<less

The story is very short, less than a hundred chapters, but I don't feel like it's either slow or rushed, just good. They are just a few characters and they are very well built, they do not have any deviation from their initial characteristics. - Maybe, except for Wen SiSi and Wen Yu. It's not a change of who they are, but how they are.

Speaking of Wen Sisi, the best dialogues are between her and Chi ZhengZheng, I laughed a lot. On the one hand, a direct person and on... more>> the other, someone with erroneous speeches and masked intentions. It's worthy.

The silliest moments are obvious between Wen Yu and FL. No comments, otherwise it's a spoiler and this one should be read by the reader.

The worst moment for me was the same for ML, my heart almost jumped. I was so scared.

I recommend it if you want to read something cool, but short. <<less

The mtl is very easy to read so go ahead and read this one! I agree with the phrase "sweet and fluffy" to describe this novel. ML is so dreamy, you'd want to make him the happiest boy, while MC is so adorable. They're just perfect for each other. I only deducted a star because there's no element of surprise. What you expect is what you'll get. Overall, it's a good read.

Not bad, though I do wonder sometimes about these type of stories where the MLs always feel really touched by the MCs defense of them when the MC knows for sure that the ML is secretly OP. The ML of course, is ignorant that the MC knows the future and is won over by the display of blind faith in himself.

This was a probably a novel that I would definitely never reread ever again, I highly recommend it and the story and plot for me was great especially when they both overcome all those setbacks together and love each other for a lifetime, I was so touched and it's heartbreaking when it comes to the point where the FL almost left the ML alone cuz the ML would most likely just die and chase right after her and I couldn't bear it, but then they got married and had a... more>> happy ending, I love it and I grealy appreciate it, but the extras where it defines how they both grow old and love each other was just too much for me and I can't take it as of now I'm typing this while crying so that my surged of emotion would calm down, the story greatly emphasized their love for each other even until their last breath which very much moved me and break me at the same time, it was so touching yet painful cuz they both died while still promising each other that in their next life they would have an another appointment and would be together again, I love it so much and it made me cry a lot I love it as it really shows how they both love each other but it would definitely hurt me to reread it again. <<less

What's with that tear-jerking ending, author?!!!! I mean it's a HE and all but damn, I didn't come here to cry. That twist really just made their love look more beautiful and deep.

FL was just an ordinary person prior to transmigration so a lot of her initial reactions were pretty reasonable. She was very cautious of ML who could honestly k-word her in a heartbeat. She was very scared and anxious about her situation, and I'm even amazed that she was able to say the things that should've been said... more>> by the original owner even with those emotions. She couldn't view the Chi family as her own family
Spoiler

as she is not the original owner and her heart was even more cooled down by their attitude. I do believe that the main reason why a lot of the characters such as the Chi and Wen Family were so dumb was that the OGnovel wrote them that way and they had to think and behave that way. Later on, even the Chi family wondered what the hell did they eat that they favored an outsider over their own daughter for so long.

[collapse]
She is very straightforward, has a spicy mouth, and also has a sense of independence. It's just that ML doesn't want her to be too independent lol. When she realized that she likes ML, she accepted it and was honest with her feelings. She really was a ray of sunshine and her brightness can even be felt just from reading it. I'm really happy that ML met her since I believe only she could handle such an ML and make him feel warmth and love.

ML was, of course, the standard ML. He was cold, vengeful, and had suffered a tragic past. He grew up unloved and disdained by everyone. He was a genius and was able to establish his own behemoth company from scratch. He initially didn't care much about the FL and the engagement since he only cared about bringing the downfall of the Wen family. After getting along with FL, he started to feel like
Spoiler

taking care of her, protecting her, and making her happy. When he saw that FL would fight other people for him, he felt warm and loved. He was so adorable when he fell for her uwu. He was very clueless about chasing people but his love for her was so strong that he wanted to hide her in a place where only he could see. Still, he couldn't bear FL every time so he never restricts her. After that terrible event, he became even more careful with her, handling her as if she was fragile as if she was gonna leave. He placed FL at the cusp of his heart and loved her every day until the end of their life. It was too beautiful that I cried.

[collapse]

I do hope they'll still meet in their next life which I think they will since
Spoiler

OGChi Zhengzheng said that she couldn't bear to tear them apart in their next life and that her wish was fulfilled, and FL's soul could be seen drifting into a particular direction as if she's following ML's soul.

[collapse]
I really like Wen Sisi too that I even sort of shipped her with Zheng Ying or FL's younger brother lololol.

Great read~ Love the leads and their beautiful love <3 <<less

Overrate novel.

Its bad novel. Character are so bad and nonsense. MC family is waste, protect outsider over their own daughter. Brother is waste too. Her family side with this people that hurt their own daughter. How come MC forgive them even though they aren't real parent. They are just dead original MC parent. Brother threaten ML to treated sister nice when ML dote on her. Brother don't care when his own sister being abuse and bully by his friend. YET he threatens this man who treated nice and cherished his... more>> sister. He is garbage brother.

zero stars for waste family. MC Should haven break relationship with her family who don't love her. Honestly original plot with ML being single is better cause whole family go retribution. <<less

I MTLd this novel and it was easy to read (compared to others lol).

I have a personal preference for slow burn romances. This novel is definitely not that. By the third day of CZZ leaving the hospital, they already had affection for each other after a few encounters.

I enjoyed the fluff in this novel, as well as how layered FL’s friend’s character was. It kinda seemed that in the entire novel, the author had a real life basis for the friendship - compared with everything else. Lots of plotholes, some... more>> I can’t ignore while reading which is why I’m rating this novel a solid 3 out of 5. I don’t hate it but will not reread. <<less

This story is honestly at most a 2 when it comes to plot, world-building, and characterization. It’s full of cliches. The setting is a standard Mary Sue Modern world focused on capitalist society. The characters are relatively flat, especially the villains. I am still giving it an extra star for three reasons:

  1. Its an easy to digest read with decent pacing and the plot holes are reasonable.
  2. The MC befriends her tsundere rival, the character with the most development in the entire book. I quite like her~!
  3. The setup to the climax ultimately uses a common cliche as a red herring resulting in a decent, if sudden, plot twist.
Spoiler

There are hints leading up to the end that something is wrong with ZhenZhen. She has been having dizzy spells lately that she is attributing to low blood sugar. The ingenious bit is the timing. Revenge has been achieved and the main characters are preparing to let go of the past to settle down and enjoy the rest of their lives. The author is obviously going into the ‘story is almost over, be prepared for some cute extras and time skips’ phase novels ramp up to at the end. This leaves a beautiful red herring. The natural conclusion is that ZhenZhen must be... pregnant! She isn’t showing any other symptoms and is even drinking alcohol, yet thoughts still naturally go in that direction due to the genre. Not to mention that the author slips in a little convo about how the two would raise the children into a scene right before a bout of dizziness. MC and ML are just too happy for anything to go wrong this close to the end. Plot twist: she isn’t pregnant. ZhenZhen is in fact experiencing sequelae from her previous vegetative state putting her into a dangerous situation. I respect the author’s b***s in giving the heroine a fatal experience instead of the standard time skip treatment.

Eventhough the link is for one chapter only, once I visited the site, I saw that it was compleyed... never looked back and sat and read for 6+ hours straight... it is sweet and fluffy with a bit of (maybe 5 chapters worth) angst. NOTE WELL CURRENTLY THE NOVEL IS FULLY TRANSLATED ON THE TLS SITE

TLDR: Hard to say with only one chapter but the story is rough to read currently

Improved synopsis:

... more>> Chi Zheng: The MC
Chi Zheng Zheng: The woman the MC transmigrates into
Wen Yiran: Her fiance
An Qinru: The other woman
Wen Yu: The replacement fiance

CZ is killed by truck kun, and transmigrates into CZZ who is in a vegetative state due to an accident? She is apparently in possession of her senses and is able to hear/see? WY and AQ getting it on in her room on a daily basis (⊙o⊙). After a time the families come in and to preserve their alliance offer up Wen Yu as a substitute.

This seems like it can be good but it's a tough read <<less

This is a mid-length novel that moves really, really fast with an ending that doesn't fit the rest of the story.

The FL is a transmigrator who ended up as a character who died in the background of a novel. She awakens (sort of, she's in a coma but can hear everything) at the point of hearing her fiance and her cousin having s*x next to her in the hospital ward. From there, her engagement partner is switched to the ML, she wakes and then begins living her best life.

The ML... more>> is a genius who his stepmother, half-brother and father abused. Due to this, he has dedicated his life to the singular task of destroying that family. When the engagement is switched, he doesn't really care but interacting with the FL quickly causes him to fall in love with her. He becomes so hooked that he panics twice when he doesn't see her immediately when he comes home.

The FL does offer some verbal beatdowns but it feels juvenile or super sped up. There are also plenty of comebacks that her opponents could have come up with but they don't. It's like the other characters (who were supposed to be incredibly scheming or intelligent) become s*upid when the FL talks so that the story can fit the length and include all of the plot points the Author wanted.

Then comes the ending and it quickly turns into emotional torture to read. This part was painfully slow for a novel where everything moved quickly. Spoiler ahead for those who want to be prepared because I certainly would not have read the story if I had known.

Spoiler

The FL slips back into a coma and her brain reverts to what it was when the original was in the hospital. The ML begins wasting away and stays near her even as the doctors tell him that she's got about 10 days to live. Eventually, he takes her home and writes his last will but it's really a su*cide note because the ML couldn't live in a world without her.

She gets really cold in his arms but manages to regain the will to return to him and sheds two tears at what he is telling her. This makes the ML go ballistic and try to warm her up as he believes she is returning to him. He even burns himself with scalding water but she does wake up and they return to the hospital. Later, the story states that she actually did die and just came back through sheer will.

Even if the translator broke up the chapters, this was still an incredibly long piece to go through compared to the other things.

[collapse]

I still enjoyed parts of this (such as the drinking game) and could handle the speed but the ending just soured me on any enjoyment. <<less

I’ve had mixed feeling about this novel. Like a lot of novels it had its positive and negative points.

honestly, I needed a gentle novel as I lost my grandmother this week and this novel gave me that. It was short, well paced, the plot held enough twists and turns to keep my mind in the story but not overwhelmingly so. I needed an escape and it gave me that.

I did have issues with the FL’s personality, though this is more because of my own personal preferences, for me I found... more>> her too timid when it came to the ML, sometimes too childish in her emotional responses and the fact that outside the ML she really didn’t make any personal connections and the one she did just faded into inconsequence and in relation the the family of the original Chi Zhengzheng, it seemed lacklustre, pointless and frustrating I didn’t understand why they kept the Chi family in for the majority of the book as it neither pushed the plot forward after the initial choice of FL to go out on her own, we had no clear resolution with only slight reference at times to familial duty which didn’t amount to anything plot wise, it felt as if it was more of a filler than anything.

which leads to the extra chapter. My gosh they dragged, especially the wedding ones. The pacing of these made them hard to read.

But overall if your looking for an escape, that is short and feel good then this is definitely worth a read. <<less
