Ling Chu died.

She traveled through time inexplicably and became the eldest daughter of the Shangshu Mansion. However, she was not favored. When she was born, the Taoist priest predicted that she would bring bad luck to her relatives.

She was sent to a Taoist temple for foster care since she was a child, and was taken back to the mansion when she reached the age of 15.

She thought she could live a happy and beautiful life from then on, but who knew that she would be greeted by an imperial decree to behead everyone in the family.

In order to save her life, she risked everything to cooperate with the Jinyiwei to search her house upside down. For this, she was abandoned by her relatives.

Others thought she would cry and confess to her family and ask for forgiveness.

But she was busy collecting debts everywhere, making money, eating and drinking well, and helping ghosts fulfill their wishes to accumulate merit and prolong her life.

I liked the story. The MC is not a damsel in distress. She is strong and independent. Often times the ML is sidelined because how intelligent and strong the MC is.

In the beginning the story focuses on the MC confiscating property and finding silvers and then it focuses on solving mysteries and her helping the ghosts so that they can get justice.

Towards the end the story focuses on the fight of princes for the throne and it takes a political turn.

Spoiler

I hated the character of ms dong and Han Yao and the grandmother of prince dingyaun.

Honestly read the novel just to check out this new addition that has one 5 star and one 1 star review. The beginning was kinda fun but as it progressed it kinda started feeling the regular old troupes out there, nothing unique.

1. MC has her own personality, strength and flaws.
Spoiler

It has the common swapped at birth them where the other child is aware and scheming where MC is barely able to protect herself. She does take revenge a couple of times and fights back but like a c*ckroach the antagonists just jumps back right up

[collapse]

2. ML is the usual cold and aloof person in high position with a hidden identity that is kinda talked about in whispers among the nobles. He has started to develop feelings towards MC at this point but not realised yet.

3. The story revolves around MC and her divination skills along with a system and Yin-yang eyes which allow her to see ghosts since young as well the collection and robbing of merits (the good karma you recieve from helping others), along with the use of talismans and formations and 2 super weapons. And she uses all of these things to solve cases, find money from corrupt officials, help the dead etc.

CAUTION: The Whole **purity** thing is kinda played back and forth here,
Spoiler

X scheming to let Y lose her purity but was counter attacked and barely saved from final end. But then she was caught doing evil and was blackmailed, drugged and enticed into it by an evil Monk or sth.

The content is not explicit but the way it's mentioned is a turn off for me.

This is just my own opinion as I lost my patience with this one. Some of you might really enjoy the case solving and ghost stuff and not be disturbed in any way by things that bother me. Give it a shot to see if you like it. Please don't be deterred by my word.
