ML: "Are you in love with person Y?" - MC: "No, I've always loved you." Done, story finished. Both behave like they are teens, there's no communication, MC spent their whole marriage pretending to be like someone else because of a misunderstanding that happened over 10 years ago, ML has been acting cold because of another misunderstanding from around the same time. It's nice that more writers start to use older characters, but not when their stated age is the only difference between them and high-schoolers, especially when at least one of them is a highly successful businessman. Adults are not children with bigger bodies, they act, think, feel and operate very differently, if you use adult characters then, please, write them like adults. I'm tired of this kind of disappointment.
