the actual review:

i think this novel would do better if it aged down the main character and made him a student of the academy as well. for now, he’s a shady backstreets seller essentially preying on rich young girls.

i understand that his mercenary background is important for the funds, but BEING 30 just makes it seem like he’s taking advantage of the resource gap.

the blatant sexualisation of HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS make me want to puke. ‘her soft, milky skin’ EW GO KILL YOURSELF ALREADY

and she’s kinda... dumb. like no forward thinking whatsoever. the novel even had the MC joke about ‘trading her v*rginity’ for the relic. it’s not a joke. it’s s*xual harassment. ‘ohhh it’s fine she’s fine with it’ nah that’s straight up g*ooming.

even when he said that, after realising her sisters exchange their bodies for money, the first thing she does is go to broke commoners to give her body to. like they don’t have money, you’re trading the thing that could’ve gotten you a relic for nothing, + they’re ugly as shit.

honestly, the only reason I read this was because I thought the synopsis was interesting. and the first few chapters were like ‘ok, this is going somewhere’.

little did I know this was a shitty jp novel about this middle aged man with STUDENTS. I CANNOT EMPHASISE THIS ENOUGH. THEY ARE CHILDREN.

the reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because I genuinely believe there are people out there who would enjoy this. I am not those people. <<less
