the plot is great... and the characters are well fleshed out, but goddamn it turned into a generic harem by the time arc 3 finished... its like playing a galge, you have heroine arcs that you need to conquer and then off to another one... also its funny how the MC Korin is oblivious, or maybe he is pretending to not notice considering he had the nerve to say can I kiss you to his master in the time loop - but to be obsessed with being called Oppa when... more>> 2 of the 3 want to marry while the other trying to do adultery is downright ridiculous... <<less

Definitely quite standard harem shounen-ish story. It can be enjoyable read but if u expect high quality, I dont think this is good enough. To be fair, the plot armor is very thick here. I wouldve drop this already if not for good writing on interaction, monologue, fleshing out the characters and world building.

The harem is quite annoying sometimes, especially with harem filler chapter in every arc combined with dense MC. I though harem maybe wasnt that bad after I came across good harem writing, but this... more>> series reminded me that most harem story is just mid, or even straight up terrible. <<less

I might be a bit biased because it's one of the novels I have been following for a long time since it practically started serialization. It's one of the popular works that have come out last year.

Genre: Academy, Fusion Fantasy, Harem, Regression.

Premise:

Spoiler

The MC possesses an extra in a game he was a veteran in, but someone also possessed the protagonist of that novel. They work together to make sure they reach the ending and defeat the final boss, but the person who possessed the protagonist of the novel turns out to be a violent homo yandere. The Homo yandere protagonist actively kills all the relevant side cast to monopolize MC for himself. After MC discovers this, he confronts the yandere who imprisons MC before going to face the final boss. The yandere eventually loses to the final boss and MC regresses due to some mysterious circumstances which readers explore later on.

[collapse]

Protagonist

Spoiler

After regressing, MC resolves to kill the player and adorn his mantle to save the world on his own. Yandere's arc is explored way later on in the novel, so the yandere does have impact on the plot.

MC is morally a good person, but he isn't a self-righteous prick, unlike the first impression he gives off. He won't go out of his way to save every random Tina character who he didn't even interact with by screwing over his allies and putting the whole plan in jeopardy. He is quite rational. He strives to save everyone he could, everyone in his range of awareness he would give his all to save them.

His oaths are "I will save the world" and "I won't ignore the misfortune of others."

He also might come off dense when it comes to romantic relationships, but he gradually improves on that aspect and even manages to overcome his dense nature. The guy just needs some obvious hints like, for example when one of the heroines kissed him. He definitely didn't put it off as an accident or some BS like we have seen many a times in Japanese novel scene.

There is character growth throughout the story. MC made plans, then backup plans, but still during the implementation phase something gets twisted somehow due to other real life factors, and he has to improvise in real time, so he struggles a lot in fights.

Top-notch action scenes and side cast are the reasons why it was in top30 of Munpia rankings during its serialization phase.

[collapse]

Side cast:

Spoiler

I have read the novel in Hangul and I can assure the writing style the way the characters are fleshed out were quite the joy to read.

In fact, unlike this novel, novels such as Ending Maker have been criticized for doing not a good job when it comes to fleshing out the side cast. Only the FMC and MC were fleshed out there.

Side cast have real impact on the plot and gives you some of the most memorable moments. One of my favourite battles in the whole story is a battle between one of the heroines and a villain. These aspects of the novel have been praised not only by me but numerous other reviewers, both on Riddibooks and Munpia.

[collapse]

A few pros:

Spoiler

I don't want to spoil too much, so I will give you a few basic areas that this novel did a good job at.

1. I'm a fan of action guys and this novel has really great action scenes which the author beautifully portrays and is one of the charms of the work. Author stood out for his skillful use of bedtime fairy tale references and using those to write an original action sequence. There are battles with dragons happening atop the bean stalk (referred to here as world tree, which grows from a seed) to recreation of some Irish mythological scenes. Those were the most memorable aspects of the novel.

2. Character growth, MC gradually grows from weak to strong even though it feels like he is always on the advantage. He does struggle a lot in the fights.

3. The system-- It's inspired from the webtoon knight run. It doesn't do generic hand-holding, so the MC still had to struggle a lot

4. Harem aspect was well done in the novel, none of the heroines gets left out. So people who don't want their best girl to lose can rest easy.

[collapse]

Cons:

Spoiler

1. Author kinda sometimes fails to deal with the character explosion. Partly due to drama between author and Munpia.

2. Harem - it's a relevant aspect of the novel it's a con for those who hate harem. If you even minutely hate harem I would advise you to stay away from this novel. Since I have already seen enough readers noticing the tag yet still dive into it knowing full well that its harem. Eventually, regretting their decision.

[collapse]

Final Thoughts:

Spoiler

It may not be something original or groundbreaking, but I had fun reading it. Author used generic stuff but he added his own elements to make the novel fun and unique in his own aspect.

The biggest problem with this "novel" is that almost all the characters are absurdly annoying, a depressive-dependent swordswoman, a genius magician who looks more like a pig, the interactions are annoying and there is that trope of the "holy man" that is, everything what the protagonist does is seen in a way that makes him seem selfless, merciful and etc, jesus christ reincarnated..
And this is repeated a lot, a lot, about 20 times in 90 chapters..

Spoiler

example of an irritating interaction.

The protagonist is training with the spear against a super focused wind elemental and giving his maximum, then a ret*rd interrupts him to offer food? Serious? Can you imagine being at the gym doing a bench press, 80kg and an idiot stops by your side and offers you sweet potatoes with sugar?

Poha.. They are in a training center to train warriors against the END OF THE WORLD, a mage with so much potential is wasting time making food for others and bothering? Shouldn't she, I don't know.. Be training?

First of all, I will have to follow the author's warning regarding the first chapter: This isn't a BL novel!

Top 30 at its peak on Munpia and rated 9.1 on Naver

Premise:

Spoiler

Without a doubt the most memorable first chapter I've read,
The story starts 3 years after our protagonist has possessed a side character at a game he played.
For 3 years he has been working with the protagonist of the novel- "The Player", another possessor who as "The Player" had access to the status screen which made him a lot stronger.

It turns out that for 3 years The Player has been manopalizing our protagonist for himself and killing important side characters. He turned yandere and locked our protagonist and went to fight with the final boss.
Even though he monopolized everything for himself he had lost.

Our protagonist then regresses 3 years to the past and vows to kill him

[collapse]

The world building is amazing, be it the powers, settings and other small unique things.

The protagonist is very smart, be it in his fights or him planning for the future on many things.
He main weapon is a spear (as can be seen on the cover) which he uses to its max potential, the action scenes are top-tier.

The side cast seems very rich in terms of both power, personalities and background.

Comedy is good, romance wise has a lot of potential, for now, the vampire (Marie) is the main FL and is adorable, others are yet to shown their presence as much, but with the novel being true harem can definitely look forward to it.

I highly recommend to at least read until the end of the first arc (ch24) <<less

MC is the kind of guy who brings his buddies to eat at the place where spice is the chef's life.

In the game system it was so spicy they lost health from it. The kind of as*hole all guys need as a friend to keep things interesting.

Spoiler

Then for the wider story, turns out the world is ending if things go as expected and MC is skilled but weak as a salsa with no chili in it. So to spice things up he goes into Irish Geas/oath magic that doesnt just punish liars, it rewards the faithful and honest.

And so he promises to save the world and undo whatever bad stuff he comes across. The world also knowing what's up understandably approves of someone trying to save it and it goes from there. No direct powerup but growth boosters applied successfully.

First thing first, this novel is not BL novel. The first chapter of the story should make it clear if you read it.

Second, this novel is a harem novel, so yeah, if you hate harem then this novel is not for you, but for people that okay or love it you probably will like the novel. In my opinion the heroine have their own distinct personality and have their own strenght in both combat and interaction within the cast.

The world is intersting and the way the cast interact with it... more>> in a fun way. Speaking of cast of character, outside of the heroine, the side cast is fun to read when they interact with the MC and each other. The MC himself is not the edgy broding type that believe everything should hapen according to the plot of the original game. He is the type that will create a better situation for himself and others good people if it is possible.

The best part of this novel is the combat. The way the author write it make reading it fun and comprehensive. It make me feel like I personally watch how the battle happen.

This spoiler is about a heroine

While this novel might not be the most creative or thought-provoking as other novels, it does execute its concept with great finesse and I enjoy every step of the way of the story's development, even if it does get a bit slow at times.

Our MC is a Korean who got Transmigrated into the body of an extra named Korin Lork. Not only did our MC get Transmigrated into the body of Korin, but someone got transmigrated into the body of the protagonist of the game. Eventually, they make contact and... more>> both find out they were originally from earth. They team up and make their way through the game's story rather smoothly with one little bitty problem...
Spoiler

The protagonist is a gay mu*der hobo who goes Yandere for our MC. After tying up MC to go fight the final boss, the protagonist loses despite how 'efficient' he was and both he and Korin get regressed back to when they first possessed their characters.

All his fights feel earned as not only were the fights difficult with him struggling after each blow, but the amount of prep and planning he does for a fight make it believable. He doesn't care what others think and trains to his utmost limit while taking any possible advantage he can to become stronger. Only thing is he isn't the most groundbreaking MC, but he is unique enough to not be a self-insert and while he can be dense, it can be explained by him growing up in an all-boys school and then immediately going into the army thus limiting his interactions with the opposite s*x. This however seems he be resolving itself through time as the author makes Korin develop more and more.

What this novel truly excels at are its fight scenes. The author masterfully sets it up and you get drawn into every move and you glide across every word, as the words insert themselves into your mind and slowly become an animation that you stare in awe at. You can feel the blow and impact from every word and all the important fights are hard fought that Korin would never have won if he didn't have prep. Although it can be a bit slow during the intermission from fight to fight, I can forgive it simply by how well the fights flow and how chadly Korin is.

Now my favorite portion of the reviews, WAIFU TIME!!! As of 64, we have 4 main waifu candidates but since this is a harem we all know what's going to happen in the end. First, waifu that we got as well as best girl is Marie Dunareff. A 2nd year at Korin's school
Spoiler

and a human turned vampire who was saved by Korin

[collapse]
Third we have is Hua Ran, she hasn't been developed a lot so far only accompanying Korin for food and occasionally helping him out. Next, we have the superior Arden, Lunia. Lunia is the older sister of Alicia and is simply superior. Just read it for yourself. Btw all images of characters can be found on the Genesis Discord.

For those who want an action intense story with a chadly MC I highly recommend this. <<less

so this one is a bit weird il admit, its in academy which is interesting and unique but sadly I don't think its enough to gloss over the parts that bug me with this novel.

to be honest at points its just plain boring, I mean there are exposition dumps and I just cant seem to imagine it in my head.

its a lot like a different reviewer said that its like a text book.

now I do think that it has potential so I will give it a good score because I... more>> want to see it succeed so maybe it just isn't my cup of tea and it might be yours.

Pros:

interesting world premise.

Maybe harem?

Cons:

kinda boring for me and unimaginative <<less

I feel like this novel is decent and consistent in quality. The premise, plot and setting is generic, but the execution is fine and the characters are fairly likeable. Fights between humans are pretty awesome but there's plenty of human vs monster fights which I didn't enjoy as much. None of the character's feel left out or unnecessary and they all contribute in some way.

The MC is a charismatic leader and is good at drawing out the potential of all the characters because of his previous iteration + game experience.... more>> His interactions with most character's is somewhat refreshing because he has good social skills, but he is also cliché dense.

What I didn't like is how low stakes it felt from what I read. MC prepares so much and gives you this feeling that everything will be smoothly solved. Also, I feel like the delivery of exposition and trivia is lackluster, a lot of times I am not given a reason to care. Anyways, I dropped because I was at a boring section of the story and I did not really look forward to the overarching plot beats or mystery. It was an ok read. <<less

The synopsis is beyond dreadful, so just read the prologue and treat it as the summary. It has a good hook and somewhat tells you what the story's going to be like.

If you like the usual 'I regressed/transmigrated, correct my past mistakes and make full use of my knowledge' schtick, add this to the collection.

Quite a fun read if you turn off your brain completely, but as soon as you start thinking this isn't that good even by the Korean fast-food novel standards.. People already praised it enough, but considering that I didn't find any reviews talking about some of the problems of the story that bothered me, I'll be the one, lol. Just like it's common for Korean novels, the power progression system is completely arbitrary and random, and the author screwed it up a lot.

The MC gained his incredible power using a... more>> "cheat" that, in fact, ANYONE could use and, logically, if other, more powerful characters, used the same cheat, they would be unstoppable. So he inscribes three basic "Oaths" that actually don't hurt him in any way — one that he'll help those in need, another that he'll work on saving the world, and last, a limitation, that he won't be able to see ghosts (which has no drawbacks, according to him, btw). There's literally no reason why he can't make the same Oaths / tattoos on any of the side characters, none of those have any serious drawbacks, easy to follow and give incredible increase in power. He only probably needs one party member who can see ghosts, and the rest just using the Oaths to become more OP than he could ever be because their starting points are much higher. And of course the MC refuses to share this easy cheat-code with anyone else for no reason other than "the author has too few brain cells to actually give him a cheat code that can't be replicated by literally anyone, so he makes s*upid excuses like it's too much responsibility or smt".

Also, the author can't follow his own power rankings - one chapter the MC fights a semi-Unique Grade swordsmater on equal footing, and without any buffs by the way. And then a few dozen chapters later and after gaining more power, he wastes a few days to hunt down a single semi-First grade monster, which is dozens times weaker. This is just a single example, the author makes similar mistakes more than once. Also, he completely forgot that his MC actually has LEVELs like in a video game and that his Level cap was increased by integrating the System. Because he never actually gained even a single level, he just raised his stats with Oaths, and by the way, according to simple math, he already has stats much higher than you normally get at the highest level, and yet he's still considered pretty weak stats-wise.

In the end, this is just another proof that most people aren't very smart and / or don't pay any attention to worldbuilding in stories and their power levels, because if they did, then there would be at least a few comments regarding those fat plot holes.

Other than this, as some others said, MC is some sort of as*xual incel who completely misses the fact that all the girls fawn over him. The story itself though isn't boring and quite fun, if you can turn-off your brain completely, which I guess isn't a problem for people who rarely turn it on to begin with, lol. <<less

TLDR: Good plot and “plot”, interesting and a good circle of a few characters, worldbuilding is solid with nothing to really scoff at, handles the romance frustratingly at first, but well at the end with the side stories. Suffers from the “idk how to make romance progress without affecting the main storyline”, and the side stories carry the romance, while the rest carries the action.

Read if you want an isekai- regression fantasy with good worldbuilding or a more comedic take on isekais in general, and only read this for romance... more>> if you are patient enough.

Read below at your own risk, it has spoilers.

Spoiler

Recently I just finished “I Killed the Player of the Academy”, finishing about 160 translated novels on GenesisTL with RainTL (fabulous TL of Kidnapped Dragons, one my favorite series with an amazing translation) and reading the rest MTL. While the series is about 288 chapters with about 250 part of the main story and 30 side stories, which is pretty short in comparison to many other web novels that I have read, the length of each chapter is pretty long in my opinion, which took me about 2 weeks to read all chapters even though I thought I would be done within a week.

So how is the novel? My answer is “I f*cking hate the Japanese MC oblivious to girls liking him trope more than ever”, but everything else seems solid to say the least. The story is basically a isekai-regression fantasy harem with a school-life political rom-com in the mix. Is it original? No... but the world building is surprisingly well-made, with an answer for many questions I had as a reader about the world. Additionally, the main [harem] characters were well done in terms of depth and story, however there is a lack of focus on everyone else, leading me to believe that the author had a singular focus on the harem above everything else. Like there is a druid and golem maker that other than in action scenes or pivotal plot point don’t really show up, the friends of the MC are only relevant in the early chapters or in rom-com moments, and the one religious male side character (Germain) who is a spy that shows up in 1 rom-com and 1 pivotable plot point, but at least he is the only male character other than MC that gets into a relationship during the story. So in short, I like the characters, but I wished the author took more time to make the side characters more fleshed out. It was not a question of adding more content, because then I would feel like the stories would be boring since it’s a character I’m not interested in, but rather making the roles of the side characters more relevant and/or making them more interesting to interact with the main character would be the better answer here.

But enough about the side characters, what do I feel about the main [harem] characters? I will be honest, I have a weakness against 3 types of female characters in novels: yandere, vampires, and mommy, which this novel fully delivers in one girl out of the 8 and I will not be ashamed because these types of characters tend to be well written. I’m not coping, it’s just ever since I caught up with Arifureta, there was a severe lack of vampire characters that I could read about that were actually interesting. There are other main [harem] characters, the weakest of which I would easily say in terms of being fleshed out is Erin, but I also wished Miriam had more depth other than “the past wife of MC who r*ped him and ended up having a child, only to die”. All in all, the characters were decently throughout, the only complaint I will have is that the romance doesn’t really progress until the side story, leading to an endless tease and fanservice throughout the main story that will infuriate yet somewhat satisfy anyone reading this primarily for romance. It will test your patience and your anger management, many times I would be laughing at the rom-com throughout this novel, yet be one step away from throwing away my phone because of the dense ass black hole of a main character. But at least he grew aware by the later parts of the novel I guess.

How about the plot? Eh, could be worse but it was definitely one of the plots of all time. The arcs are okay in length each, there really wasn’t one I wanted to skip in particular, nor did I feel like each story element had me thinking “but didn’t they just do something similar earlier?”. Having said that, I will be rereading this so this will be updated in the future if I do find any concerning plot holes. I like the fact that the butterfly effect is more prevalent in this story than most other isekai-regression stories I’ve seen out there, it makes each action in the story have me thinking “this is going to screw up for the main character somehow” and it does to oftentimes a hilarious degree. Saving Marie in the beginning leads to a huge butterfly effect in itself, as she is so loved by her really wealthy family, the wealthiest in the land in fact, that she just pays through everything that the main characters otherwise would have suffered from.

The main character, Corin, deserves some mention here. Other than being a dense black hole of a romantic protagonist, he’s fundamentally a great guy and I would say he would be the typical role model of a hero except for two aspects: obviously his romantic aspects, but also his crazy tendencies. The guy literally cosplays the Joker to harass first years during a training session, he also becomes Michael Jackson and moonwalks to raise troop morale. To say that he is crazy is saying little, but the author does a great job of incorporating such lunatic elements in the story as if they were natural, and Corin is the main reason why I consider this novel to be more of a comedy than just a action-thriller isekai fantasy. Also, he’s a really nice guy, and it’s really nice to see justification behind his actions even if the motivation of “I don’t want anyone to die unnecessarily” is a bit cheesy. It might be just me, but that lack of novels that portray a simple-based hero is quite shocking, as while it is a really easy character to portray as a main protagonist, it’s really hard to have such a character mesh with more complex side characters, the lack of which leads to a really boring character cast. I would say that Corin is probably one of my favorite main characters if I could forgive his romantic denseness.

Side stories have all of the “plot” but it is also funny in its own way. I definitely think however that you have to be invested into the characters to enjoy them, so there’s that too. Remember what I said earlier about the main story having a lack of romance? While there are some romantic elements, it’s definitely not the main focus. The author wrote in favor of progressing the plot which is fine, but it becomes increasingly evident that the author is unable to write crucial romantic progression with plot progression, leading to a lot of flirting and teasing around the boundary until the main character straight up says that he will not pursue a relationship until the story is over. I am biased thinking that the relationship should progress alongside the story, but if you are okay with that not occurring, then this shouldn’t be really a problem.

In summary, read if you like a comedic take on an isekai-regression fantasy, however your patience will be tested on the romantic aspects. Main cast of characters are well made for the most part and likable, however the author doesn’t seem to flesh out the other characters that much, leading to the story having focus on a small cast of characters for the most part.

The way the author wrote this novel is quite unique... he went full throttle 180 mph from the start, not pausing, and pulling no punches. This style of writing is extremely plot focused, it naturally has its own advantages, but a lot more disadvantages result from it too.

The MC is Korin, someone who wishes to save the tragedy that the characters in the world he transmigrated into will face. Korin killed the original Player who was supposed to save the world because the player is a twisted psychopath who kills... more>> people for fun. -- That's basically the premise of the novel.

"I Killed the Player of the Academy" has decent characters, a slightly generic, but enjoyable plot, and a very likable MC. But it also lacks in many other aspects that would have made this into a great novel.

Characters: Because of how compressed together each arc is, there doesn't seem to be enough development to the characters. Some of the developments felt slightly forced and rushed, like how Marie had her heart palpitating because she witnessed the sight of MC tryharding in the training room. This felt really weird. It's only a few times that she has met with the MC, and her heart is already beating at the sight of him? It's not only her either, a lot of the other heroine/characters also paid a lot of attention to Korin for some reason. A little too much attention for someone they are seeing for the first time.

World-building: Normally, this is not the most important of the novel, and most authors don't put too much effort into writing the world-building; but that doesn't mean you shouldn't put effort into it at all. Again, because of how compressed the story is, there is barely any descriptions to how the world looks like. I'm 30 chapters in and I still don't know the appearance of the academy.

Plot: The plot is fun to read, but there are problems with it as well. The plot is moving way too fast. There is no build-up between arcs, and things just happen suddenly. For the fights, the author use generic phrases like "The world stopped, " and "The crowd went silent, " for some of the fights, that you've probably read somewhere else a thousand times already. I'm not saying that these phrases are bad, but the situation they are used in just doesn't match. These phrases should be used with build-ups. The lack of build-ups toward these fights just make these phrases sound cringe and chunni. I can also understand if the author uses the "crowd went silent" phrase when the MC does something truly absurd, but what Korin is doing in the fight is not completely absurd, and what the audience should be doing is "roaring" and "cheering" instead. I have only seen the phrase "The world went silent" used right in Return of Mount Hua.

In conclusion, I love this novel when I read while turning my brain off, but the lack of details really stands out when you start to think. But this novel is by no ways unfun, in fact, it's actually a really fun novel to read. The plot is fast and keeps on pumping out content, the MC is steadily getting stronger while also flexing on everyone else, the other characters are flawed but decent enough that you probably won't care if you're reading with your brains off. Recommended for entertainment.

As an extra:

This is the description of the MC simply summarized:

  • Use a spear
  • Use rune magic
  • Has a wild look
Reminds you of someone?

First of all, story and plot is pretty much standard but unremarkable. It's all about MC striving for good endings. There's little emotional depths and character dynamics. But it's main selling point is seele the characters and their interactions.

MC - he's mature and what's even more refreshing is he acts based on his age. Although he may seem dense but I also had the impression that he's just avoidance of the heroines attempts because he don't see them romantically mainly due to his mental age gap. Part of me is... more>> annoyed because he won't draw the line but part of me is laughing at how clueless he is on handling romance despite being mentally old (def not relatable). Also, his mental age leaking off his uncle vibe always hits me. He's pretty much idealistic but at least he's aware of the burden that comes with it.

Heroines, so far...

- We got Asta equivalent rich lady but with flowers inside her head who turned submissive but possessive

- Sword lady with templete personality of a teenager minus self esteem and ambition but she's slowly regaining those

- Seele expo who has dual personality staring quiet tsudere veliona and assertive seele

(Ok, I'll stop with the hoyo reference)

- Still potential heroine, but MC heroic mentor who ironically needs her own hero

If nothing took your interest so far, I doubt you'll enjoy it. It's not perfect but the harem is alright. Anything else is not that bad but not that great either. Action is leaning towards good.

Basically, just some casual harem read with few tickles. Best result if you recently read a tragic novel and you want something to rinse of that bitter taste off your mouth.

TLDR: Slightly above average junk food. 3.5/5.0 <<less

As far as Academy Transmigration novels go, this one is pretty basic. It suffers from the same syndrome as 'Abandoned by my childhood friend, I became a war hero' where the early chapters are pretty bad. Albeit on a much smaller scale. This is due to the convoluted plot which just seems to be a way for the author to make MC both a regressor, AND a transmigrator. I don't really have much to say. There are certain places where the story drags a bit and the mini-arc's payoff aren't... more>> very good but they're kinda just nitpicks. They miraculously manage to make a goody-2-shoes MC who is realistic, likable, doesn't seem ret*rded. (I'm looking at you Ian Percus). Usually a flaw such as bad early chapters would be enough to drive it down to a 4 star but it's saved by having one of the best main (?) heroine in KR novels.

Marie is best girl. Marie is love, Marie is life. Amen <<less

DrVanilla makes a key point - you need to get past the first 4 or so chapters - I gave up on this novel twice before getting through it. The novel is NOT a weird BL thing. The tagline says it all - "I killed the player.... He was one hell of a f*cker." The key is that the MC kills that f*cker pretty quickly, and then the plot develops from that point to a well executed regressor in a fantasy world novel - in fact, its in my... more>> top 5 of 50+ Korean web novels I am reading at any given time.

The MC is a rare example of one who is reasonable and identifiable. He progresses without becoming instantly OP. He doesn't turn beta, isn't afraid of women, and doesn't have overly unnecessary baggage from his past life. The FMCs are all unique and have their own qualities, but none of them turn yandere, tsundere, or exhibit other disturbing character traits (at least to date).

As to di2857295's comments, there is a bit of denseness (admittedly frustrating), but the MC clearly gets Marie (best girl) likes him. However, I do have to admit that this is no Ending Maker - you really need a focused romance pair to match that novel, which very few web novels do - this is more of a weak harem with the potential for one winning FMC. <<less

The standard run of the mill OP protagonist who got s**ked into a game story. While the execution is better than you'd expect, the tropes are still as standard as they could get.

The protagonist does no wrong, with things working out in his favor one way or another. All girls which are named and recurring end up falling for him, while he stays either unknown to their affections or uncaring.

The story gives a feel that the author was making up story points as he went, which is fine given that... more>> most of it is enjoyable to read.

Would recommend as junk food, read in a burst. <<less

The main character kills the video game protagonist because the VG protagonist is as close to a psychopath as possible in a video game world. Killing the protagonist grants the main character his own game system.

The story subverts my expectations. I expected a side character to fulfill the role of hero without any of the upsides. Heroes start out with better stats, higher growth, and exclusive end game gear. After the main character kills the VG protagonist, he gets the [Hero] title along with a limited system. The limited part... more>> is that he cannot distribute his stats or use the pay to win store. Everything else is permitted. The main character uses this advantage to create a better way to save the world. The author sometimes repeats chapters from other character's point of view. This can sometimes get tiresome, so I recommend skipping forward a little to when the changed POV covers new details. The harem and comedy part is kind of lacking, but the action may redeem the story.

The whole story onwards follows the same standards for Litrpg stories. The main character levels up, gets higher numbers, and becomes very strong. The story does get better, but readers have to push through the initial chapters to reach the better parts of the story.

I think it is good for what it is. I am just disappointed that I could not read what I wished to read. <<less

I never like giving review. It is too bothersome, thus any works that deserve my praise must work for it.

This one is exemplar in its labor folks.

The MC drew inspiration from Irish Hercules, dusted with bit of transmigration and modern heroism, and create one of the better heroes out there. To those who are sick of self-righteous prick decorate like 'heroes' with faulty philosophy while swinging their oversize dick, congratulation. Korin Lork, aka Irish Hercules 2.0, is a Sloth qualified heroes proven by virtue and merit. He did not let... more>> you down here.

Yes, it is a Harem. Unlike most Harem, the Author actually cooks well. Begone the 3D cutboard cutout. The girls in this novel have actual impact and is endgame capable. They are fun to read with fun interaction. They are fun to root for (my favorite being the Capybara Potato 'farmer daugher.')

To make a story Villain is a must and so far in CH 102 the shadow of 'that guy' is mentioned, but he is still no show, so I am not commenting on that. The pe*verted psychopathic Homo is currently out of the picture, so you can rest easy (no BL thank god)

The plot and stake, and the way they interact flows well, nothing too phenomenal so far, but it is quite a heartwarming story. The third-person perspective is well-implemented here.

This novel has Sloth's approval and is indeed of value to the Human Order. What are you folk waiting for? <<less

A very fun journey! Before I start, I will confirm that the ending is indeed good- so investing your time into this series will be rewarded.

The concept remained consistent throughout the time and the writing remained pretty good. The main cast remained solid, however the side characters were definitely side characters. The continuity of the story was pretty solid as some things in the beginning have sent waves all the way to the end as well.

The author's take on the harem, without spoilers, was pretty creative and kind of funny... more>> sight to behold. So if harem really isn't your thing, I swear that that this story does it as tastefully as they can, except for a certain character. However, that factor doesn't detract the story that much for me as the other wives outshine the negatives, at least for me it does.

Spoiler for whom I'm talking about :
Spoiler

Park-Sihoo still sucks. Motives suck. Personality sucks. How the author handled her is very forgiving (maybe too forgiving), but I guess that's what makes our MC special and maybe a bit more realistic. Doesn't change that Park-Sihoo is still a disgusting person who got lucky that MC is a benevolent guy.

[collapse]

The only main gripe I would have is that the final battle is a little lackluster, plus there are certain plot points that remain a mystery (not super serious though). However the author does a good enough job to wrap everything up, and the most important thing to me for LNs is how satisfied I feel with the ending; which I can confidently say, that the ending leaves a warm feeling and is very much a happy ending.

I Killed the Player of the Academy: A fun journey worth your time, as long as you don't expect them to reinvent the wheel or something. The story knows what it is and it does it very well. 8.5/10 <<less

I Killed the Academy Player is an engaging novel that initially starts slow and convoluted but ultimately delivers a well-rounded and consistent story that exceeds expectations. The fast-paced development, unique plot, and enjoyable content make it stand out in the game-based genre, providing a refreshing read for fans of the theme.

Despite not being the most creative, it features likeable characters and solid character-writing, with exceptional action scenes that can be easily visualized. The story offers a good dose of comedy, romance, and pacing, ensuring that readers are entertained throughout.

The main... more>> character's growth and planning are refreshing aspects of the novel, and character interactions are mostly reasonable, even if some events happen faster than expected. Though some aspects may feel bog standard, and managing multiple character relationships can be a challenge, the novel remains engaging and entertaining.

Be prepared to push through the initial chapters to appreciate the full extent of the story, as the early parts may not do it justice. With its combination of unique elements and familiar tropes, "Academy Transmigration" is a worthy addition to any transmigration or regression fans' collection, offering a satisfying and enjoyable reading experience. <<less
