This story is probably the perfect encapsulation of the Chinese nouveau rich mentality, the constant fixation about brand names, price and being so public about spending money is clearly a fetish for the author of this story.

The romance isn't even that good, a big part of it relies on the girls being moved about the MC spending so much money, as they see it, on gifts to them.

now here is a little trivia for you, gifts have meaning in one of two ways either in having a special meaning to... more>> the person you are giving the gift to or in being a big portion of your wealth or income. This is why the traditional rule of thumb for a wedding ring was a couple months worth of your salary, because it represented how much you cared. However the MC always displays that whatever he purchases is nothing much to him and he only buying things because they are expensive and flashy so there is very little in the way of sentimentality to most if not all of his gifts, which kinda paints all the girls of the harem as gold diggers one way or another.

another thing that happened early on that kinda threw me for a loop was the MC buying gifts for his parents and the thing that he immediately went to was telling them how much it costed, maybe this is a chinese gift giving custom that I don't get but generally its seen as extremely rude to tell the person you are giving a gift to how much it costed. I am legit wondering here if this is a real chinese custom or if the author has not given a gift to anyone in so long that they forgot this very basic rule.

also a funny anecdote that happened later on that exemplified this novel for me

one girl that is probably gonna be a harem member is from an actually rich family and when discussing cars with the MC told him if you are gonna spend money anyway you could have spent X amount more to get a car that would run better and be more awesome to drive and race with and the MC's response was something like yeah but I just wanted to spend money on a Ferrari

I am not sure if the author intentionally made that interaction the way it looked to me but either way it was a perfect encapsulation of how much of a ret*rded nouveau rich the MC is acting up until the point where I dropped the novel. <<less

I love this novel.

Daily interaction with lovers and friends. School life. Spending Money. Sleeping with girlfriend.

No struggles, just easy way of living.

I love it also that the MC is not a virgin beta.

The Harem here isn't small but isn't exaggeratedly large also.

Only 8 confirmed and potential harem altogether as of chapter 445.


Because the harem isn't large, you will still remember, appreciate and differentiate each Harem.

likeable MC, rational world (no face slapping left and right, no 2nd rich generation growing like a chinese cabbage, romance pretty sweet without much machismo)

MC stay true with his character from the start, even with system he doesn't change much (just his appetite got bigger) there's no "I'm the protagonist! I'm special! Watch me I will rule the world and all woman will gladly licking my feet!" ret*rdness.

sure there's harem, but with his assets if he stays with 1 woman it will be unrealistic, and at least he's honest... more>> about it.

i have low expectation with romance in chinese novel, but it's pretty refreshing and fun in this story. <<less

I wanted to like this story - the protagonist and the female lead are cute together, he seems like a decent person, etc - but aside from the story being wish fulfillment at its finest, there's one major problem with it:

The protagonist (and author too) are extremely superficial when it comes to judging women. He doesn't even bother talking to women with less than 80/100 facial beauty, and doesn't even consider spending time with them if they're not over 90. The author occasionally spouts sexist comments like "of course, women... more>> are worse at driving than men" and it reads like a pickup artist's guide to getting a harem (the first step is being rich, so don't expect it to be useful).

Add to that the fact that the protagonist just gets whatever he wants, knows whatever he needs to know ahead of time, all without trying... It's basically the plot, flow, and characters you'd expect from an erot*c novel, without the payoff of erot*c scenes, so there's no real value in reading it. <<less

Had high hopes for this when I saw 3 5 star revs together with the synopsis which described a story I'll probably be pretty interested in... NOPE. Other than the horrible story start and bad elements, the writing quality was subpar... I really just got clickbaited...

Pretty repetitive plot, Although the reviews aren't exactly wrong as they don't mention much about the repetitive plot, it gets boring pretty quickly, there is a harem, and there are a few annoying conversations.

So far it's really good. The first relationship is a bit too fast, but the ML is not a beta ML which is really good. From the spoilers it seems the harem is perfect size and good. The ML's personality is also really good, realistic and not a perverted beta MC. Hope for Faster Translations
