The night before we obtained our marriage certificate, I asked him, “When did you start to develop feelings for me?”

He answered, “I don’t remember.”

“But, why me?”

“Why not you?”

“I’m very petty, and I get jealous very easily.”

“So am I.”

“I’m afraid I’m not worthy of you.”

“So am I.”

“I haven’t really dated, so I don’t know what love is.”

“I don’t know either.”

He held my hand gently, “But I know this. When I think about spending the rest of my life with you, I feel that my future is filled with hope.”

At 16, we used the same class desk, with less than 10cm between our arms. My peripheral vision was full of him.

At 26, I woke up in the morning, and saw the sunlight softly shining on his face. I thought, this is how I want to grow old – gradually, together, with him.

I guess this must be love.

This is one of one of the sweetest stories of a couple Ive ever read. Additionally, it feels satisfying that unlike most childhood to adulthood love stories neither of these characters grows up to be a typical better than everyone around them cardboard OP cut out of what people think makes a successful life. Its just a very compelling and sweet story of two normal people looking back on how they grew towards each other and their life together. I read this after watching the drama and I enjoyed both... more>> a great deal. The book is more grounded. :) <<less

Whoever gave this a four star just doesn’t have enough love in their life. This is the most heart warming, heart wrenching, and comedic novel I’ve ever read.

This story is an absolute masterpiece.

This is the first novel that truly altered my way of thinking. Usually, in most novels we read, the leads sacrifice everything for the people they love - their marriage is close to perfect. The man always buys his wife gifts and showers her with love; he cancels meetings to spend days with her and takes her on vacation anytime she wants. The wife in return cooks him delicious meals, dresses up for him, and always knows his thoughts (in a romantic way of course).... more>> However, this book speaks about the most important part of marriage and that is the understanding between the two parties. They might know everything about each other, but they're willing to find out, no matter how much time it takes. They influence each other in all the best ways. Joey evolved as a person because she grew more confident around Mr. F and Mr. F grew more gentle and patient because of the kindness Joey shows in her daily life. Their marriage has its ups and downs of course, but they TRY and they always, always TRY. They never give up on each other. They wear sweats and laze around in bed and argue and have cold wars and hug in the rain and have outbursts of love and spill drunken thoughts to each other - and that's what love is: the ability to be with someone and grow along with them.

Many people don't like the anecdotal style of the book, but I find that the little scenes that the author writes for us to showcase the tidbits of her life are so personal, refreshing, and poignant that the reader can't help but feel touched. No marriage is perfect, but this book has shown me what a worthy marriage is. I do not have enough words to describe how much I fell in love with this story. Just read it. <<less

This story is really heartwarming and enlightening for me personally.

Love is definitely not easy because there are many hardships along the way that can stump the progress of the relationship. True love is developed only when one perseveres and finds happiness during difficult times. I feel like the story thoroughly demonstrated this fact in a simple recollection of a couple’s life.

There are many deep messages in the story that spark some thinking. I also laughed out loud multiple times while reading this. Truly a comedic, yet tear-jerking and emotional story.

Someone who could write this is genuinely a beautiful person who sees beauty even in the most bitter moments in life. Thanks for sharing a small portion your love story... here's hoping we find our Mr. F's

Certainly this would make the even in a summer movie premiere, this is a beyond brilliant story that shares the emotions of what's it's like to fall and stay in love. Perhaps I could say this one of the best romance stories ever written, and I wouldn't be going too far.

Perhaps my favorite piece of literature I have ever read. I Don't Like The World, I Only Like You is medicine for the soul and a furnace for heart. It is a romance without any of the angsty, unnecessary drama that makes us irritated beyond belief and a comedy that never fails to make laugh in all the right ways. Despite being one of the lightest series I have ever read, it is at times surprisingly heavy with all of the ways it makes you think about what love and... more>> life really is about and what they mean to us. In the end, I Don't LIke The World, I Only Like You is something that not only I like, but something the whole world would like if everyone had the chance to read this treasure. <<less

A fantastic book, and a rare one because it's an autobiography not a fantasy! It's a realistic but equally enjoyable look into the author and her husband's relationship (although a bit romanticized as both the husband and author point out, they only focus on the good mostly). Interspersed throughout the story is different points and story of the author's life, for example her mom's efforts to raise her two kids, her surgery, her friends, I especially loved the story about little C!

There's not much to comment on because of the... more>> fact that it's an autobiography (tho glorified a tad), and it's a very sweet story. I'm not the type built for romance, but this story makes me want to fall in love. <<less

Overall Score: 43/45 - 96%

Hook Score: 4/5
It's short, effective and unique. Development Score: 5/5
Since it's slice of life, you never know for sure what's going to happen.

Story Score: 5/5
It's very sweet. It's one of those stories where you go "d'aaaw" often. It will melt your heart.

... more>> Style Score: 5/5
The style of the novel is quite unique and refreshing.

Grammar Score: 5/5
Good grammar overall. Originality Score: 5/5
It keeps surprising again and again. Description Score: 4.5/5
Vivid descriptions that help imagine the events. Like an anecdote told by a close friend. It lacks direction, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Main Character Score: 5/5
A colorful character that you can't help but like despite the many shortcomings.

Side Characters Score: 4.5/5
Since they were also based on real life people, they are realistic. The author portrays her links with them in an "easy to guess/understand" way. They're not shown enough though. Antagonists Score: invalid/5
No antagonist in this story.

Strength: One of the sweetest novels I've ever read. Weakness: It's a short read. There's not much chapters and the novel is already complete.

This is a suuuuper nice read - like super nice, kudos to the author and translator. I enjoyed my time reading every bit of it (★ω★) /

There are fluffy moments, sweet moments, and also a kinda bitter sweet moments. I shed tears for this novel, no joke. Thats how good it is. You'll ride a rollercoaster of emotions. This novel also reminded me on how single and forever alone I'll be huhuhu QAQ

P.S I want a hubby like Mr. F. Where can I buy someone like him (╥﹏╥)

This was so beautiful. It is a sweet slice of life novel. The fact that it is autobiographical just makes it sweeter. The story is basically little snippets of the author's life strung together. Her words are simple, but they convey emotion in a straightforward manner that makes her really easy to relate to. When you read her words, it feels like you are listening to a close friend reminiscing.

The story is very realistic and very well written. Without a doubt, 5 out of 5 (if I could, I would give millions stars out of 5).

Usually, I prefer to read somethings to escape reality like fantasy kind-of novel. This novel steer me back to reality and still make me love it. It is funny and unexpectedly tear-jerking at certain situations. To sum up,

Story: realistic, well rounded glimpse of the main characters' life (abit of back in school and current working life)

Romance: no unnecessary drama (no cliche to... more>> begin with). What I appreciate the most is it does not plan unrealistic idea of romance to the reader. Love in reality is not about the cold CEO who would chase and spoil you to death nor delivering dozen of roses on special event. Love in reality is so much more about the little moments that you spend with each other. If we are lucky enough, we will find an equal partner just like the main character to accompany each other for the rest of our lives.

Length: short but concise.

Re-read-ability: 100% yes. I keep rereading this and it never gets old. The sentiment this story bring you on a wonderful carpet ride.

Satisfaction: more than I ever ask for. Diamond in the rough. <<less

It was a new experience with this writing style. Sounds like a summary of the life of a certain someone. It was hilarious and so fluffy. Some very very original instances that I enjoyed thoroughly. In the middle I started reading it as reading a book of jokes (that can only be enjoyed when you know the previous joke).

There were many missing details but I got used to them in due time xD

I will recommend it to everyone who wants to take a break from heavy, dark, action and thriller... more>> stories. <<less

I was awoken early this morning cause of my sibling's noise and then I remember this story, specifically the part where Mr. F was tip toeing around the room, in the dark early morning just to avoid waking up joey. And I realized that I want that kind of love too- hahahahaha

I rlly love this story, it brought a "desiderium" feeling to me. This story kinda raise and at the same time humble my standard hahahaha.

I’ll write a more through review later but as of right now, this is my favorite quote of the book:

‘Come to think of it, when I decided to break off our friendship I didn’t quarrel with him, and when we amended our relationship I didn’t cry. When we decided to be together he didn’t confess too me, and when we decided to marry he didn’t officially propose to me– everything just happened naturally on its own accord... It was as though both of us knew that these events would happen,... more>> and that both of us were simply waiting for the right time to arrive.’

the book is well written and I love it very much. Joey is such a charm to read about. <<less

This was so bittersweet and heartwarming at the same time. Although Mr. F and Joey overcame their struggles throughout their youth and romance by effort, her friends’ situations breaks me to tears. I’m very happy for Mr. F’s and Joey’s happy future but I can’t help but agonize and sympathize with Dorm Leader, Young Master, and Female Goddess. I hope that they too one day found happiness within the one they love. And also for Hu Wan Yi to also find herself a lover :)

Great slice of life novel. We get to read about little tidbits of the author's life which is very refreshing especially when the author talked about those sweet moments with her partner. This is definitely relationship goals. Oh, how I envy all those lovebirds in the sky while I am still solo-ing through life. T^T

Truly heart warming, sweet and funny but can mix it up with some deeper segments. You'll know if this is for you if you read a few of the stories. This is a book with small anecdotes of a woman using the name Joey as her pen name. The short stories contain lots of scenarious, primarily with her husband Mr.F, but also with her friends and family. Basically about her and the people she has around.

She and Mr.F bicker a lot, with him ending on top. He... more>> looks stoic and calm but reveals his true nature with Joey. She also lets herself be more silly around him. Mr.F sly, cunning and smart, but he is also the most loving husband. He loves her with his whole heart and she loves him back.

While the stories are generally very light with a slice of life feel (since it's basically slice-of-life), it also made me cry several times. Some contain diabetes inducing sweetness, while others are describing the hardships of the characters.

I highly recommend it if you like a funny, somewhat silly, not dumb and realistic female lead with a deadpan, genius, loving husband. It's a healing book with lots of smiles. <<less

The novel is obviously good based on the rating alone.

So this writing is solely for the purpose of ranting on...

how I got teary eyed about Joey's grandma's scene about 'I.... glub you...' and Guan Chao's care during her time on the hospital.

I also like how she incorporated her biography with deeper insights like how gentleness became part of her nature just because her dearest Hao Wu Yi showed her first what gentleness is. Or how Young Master appears to be easy going but he sees clearly but decided to bury everything. Or how strong and a good daughter Female Goddess is, even during those times she was isolated greatly just because she was beautiful. Or how dorm leader became strong after her innocence and dreams shattered after her family became indebted. Or how Little C is being a pervert from squinting her eyes just because she refused wearing eye glasses in fear of tarnishing her good looks.

Of course, what I love the most is her interactions with her husband, Mr. F. The ever tsundere husband that gamely plays along with Joey's craziness.

The story line is sooooooo beautiful. Maybe because it is based on the author’s real life story, it really touched my heart.I really love Mr.F and Qiao Yi together. I highly recommend this novel to everyone. I’m in love with Mr.F’s character in here because he just seems so cold but he’s not. This is even better than the drama. I wish I could see them having a child too tho

I don't like the world, I only like you Is a very wholesome novel. The author Qiao Yi, did a wonderful job in capturing the allure of the mundane. The author doesnt utilize a lot schemes or complex plots to hook the readers. Misunderstandings wasn't also used often to drive the plot forward. Additionally, The author using a different format, to write the novel, was refreshing and pleasing to see. Her leads in the novel, Joey and Mr.F, also shows good character growth and buildup. Their interactions and playful banter... more>> was both endearing and a joy to read. Subsidiary, The side characters doesn't pale in comparison to the ML and FL. They all had their own unique quirk and hilarious stories to share. The side characters peculiarities and jovial interactions with the leads definately compelled me to keep reading. The writing was also very pleasant and easy to read. Plainly said, the novel is Simple, yet Elegant.

If I were to describe what I felt like whilst reading this then, I would say that it felt like I was a some big shot, whom is carrying the weight of the world, in a bus stop listening to a woman recounting her life whilst feeling envious of her mundane life.

All in all this novel provided a good break from those a CN novels that made me want to rip my hair off.

10/10. Totally recommend it and I highly suggest reading it in a warm summer afternoon with a lavender tea in hand. <<less
