The idea is fun---potions as cooking ingredients. It's kinda like The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent, where the FL uses herbs that are normally used in potions to make food. So I like the premise.

HOWEVER.

I'm not bashing or hating on the translator! I am grateful to the translator for translating it!

... more>> BUT.

The grammar is horrendous! There are so many things to fix in one chapter I can't count it! This may not be the translator's first language, so it's reasonable for there to be errors, but for there to be this many... my brain is dead, my eyes are fried, my heart has stopped. That's how bad the errors are.

If you can read this heartstoppingly bad grammar, please, by all means, go ahead! <<less

The first translation by kerukeru was a bit hard to read but still brought our attention to this gem of a slice of life story. For this I very much thank and appreciate them. Moving on, the reviews mentioning poor translation likely stem from this time.

Sakia Translations Re-Translated the story from the start and brought even more of the charm of this story out for us to enjoy. So far the main story is light and healing so don't read this if you want dark drama and action. Though the... more>> extra chapters give you a true scum villain to hate if you're the type who reads them.

(Btw, I don't understand why so many slice of life stories get so many bad comments and poor scores due to lack of drama. It makes no sense to read one if that's what you want. It's like going up to an ice cream truck then leaving them bad reviews online when they couldn't serve you Prime Rib and oysters.) <<less

A poorly written/ translated slice of life novel. The story gets dragged down by the food, usually food centered stories can be referred to as 'food p*rn' but not this one. Too many details are lost in translation or the story was mediocre in the first place.

It just drags on and on and the food descriptions aren't that great.

The winning point is the stories system, everyone has levels and stats. Everything else from the reason she transmigrated to the worlds background is completely generic iseki garbage. The author didn't even... more>> try to make it original. <<less

I'm honestly a lot more invested in watching the loser husband suffer in the extras, than I am watching the MC interact with those god awful side characters. I was gonna drop this at chapter 14 but decided to stay one more chapter, and I love it, such an original idea for an extra (only saw it done one other time). seeing what happens in the 'normal' world after Protagonist-Chan trans-migrates into thin air, or encounters a wild Truck-Kun, should be used in a lot more of these stories. Though... more>> another way of looking at it is I hate all but six chapters (so far) of this story, not the fault of the Translator or MC, it's just EVERYTHING ELSE. I gave four stars because I am judging based solely on the extras. so... take from that what you will. <<less

Hi The translator is here

It's 5/5 because I pick it hahaha...

The reason I like is. The story is about a Housewife goes isekaied. Slow pace slice of life. Centered on making food (from the tittle) with scarce ingredients and her knowledge as housewife. Level 1 and doesn't have any cheat. The isekai life is harsh but good for her she only meets with good people. In the first place Im not that sick to readi a housewife who got bullied in isekai then become antihero hahaha.

Another thing that must I add in this review is there is a extra story, POV from the person she left in her original world. The extra story will give you a moooore reason to hate... more>> or to love someone. the extra story only available at syosetu.

According the author, There are 2 route of this story.

Brancing become 2 different storyline, Posted in different site, Syosetu and Tugikuru. I pick tugikuru route.

Spoiler about brancing part (only basic what she will do) in case I stop the translation.

Spoiler

Syosetu: Yuri goes adventuring.

Tugikuru: Yuri goes to royal capital.

Sorry for my bad translation and thanks for reading. <<less

I tried reading this and the blandness of the characters plus the terrible translation didn't help.

I'm not sure if this is an actual attempt at translation or flat out MTL but I'm leaning towards the later.

3 stars because the extras were somewhat enjoyable to read despite the grammar. I could only make it to ch 5 before going for the extras.

The MTL-er is back! The 235 chapters is according to syosetu calculation, which includes extras and stuff---

Slice of life! Slice of lifeeee! Some things do happen here and there, but it's mainly about food, yup! Also, there's some comedy too, so it's pretty amusing as well! But mainly! Slice of life! Fluff! Food! -Claps claps claps-

This is the epitome of plot armor in slice of life genre.

Somehow everything works for MC. Got lost? Saved by random high-ranked adventurer. Don't know anything? Those orphans will teach you. Wanting for condiments? Voila~ potions!

But that's not the worst part. The worst part is EVERYONE are two dimensional. Imagine yourself being separated with your little sister because you need to dwelve into different dungeon. What do you expect? A tear jerking situation where they say good bye to each other? Nope. The little sister cried, but just agree with... more>> her big brother, and they all dismiss it as "IT'S THE DUNGEON RULE"

The beginning doesn't make sense at all and is really poorly executed, but I will still give it a chance... at least for a few chapters more. I always try to give a novel a chance of at least five chapters before dropping it.

Spoiler

The protagonist wants a divorce, but before divorcing she wants to prove to her cheating soon to be ex-husband that she is more than a neglected and ignorant housewife. As such she goes to a company for human resources, but somehow that building turns out to be a guild from another world and after a really confusing and incoherent conversation, she is suddenly in another world after leaving the building.

I know most slice of life novels don't have much "meat" to the storyline, but so far this novel doesn't even have the bare minimum. It's more like chewing through tendon and bony attachment. <<less

I don’t hate this story, but I don’t like it either. I have a problem with the main character, she’s just a little too slow and easily distracted for me. Even if the novel is about food and an easy going life I find the pace of the main character’s development too slow. She makes a ton of goals and then doesn’t really follow through them. I get that she’s “slowly” progressing, but.... ... more>>
Spoiler

in 83 chapters she is still at level 2 and can’t even look at a dead animal like wtf.

Her adaptation skills are supposed to be better than that. Then she goes through all the sh*t sayings and stories about her husband. It feels like the author is forcing the reader to have pity on her. It feels so forced and out of nowhere. I would’ve liked it better if it felt like I was getting to know her background with these flashbacks instead of the self pity stories. I also do not like how she acts dense or won’t make herself clear to others. She is just a little too weak and one dimensional to me. I do think the story is okay though, I also liked the setting of the story and I though the character background was specially interesting, just not executed that well. so I’m giving this a 3 star rating. <<less

I really like what the story is about, first it's a woman (and not a young girl) and it's fun to read, no question. But, as said before... my eyes are burning ! I'm no grammar nazi, but even I, I juste can't anymore. I'll wait for the translator to get a beta, because it's a good read, but it's to hard on my eyes.

Thanks for trying TL ! I'm sure you can find a good beta ^^

Dunno why the stars defaulted to 3.5, when I was going for a 4.5...

Love this story! No real background/buildup/explanation as to how our MC lands in her alternate reality, but a nice, fluffy slice-of-life story. There's nothing hugely original about the story itself, but as a fan of easy-to-read isekai with cute kids, cooking, and modern-knowledge-in-another-world-type novels, this is right up my alley.

The extra chapters where you get to see our MC's shitty husband suffering are also VERY satisfying :D

Based on my little understanding of whats going on, I would grade the story with 3*

On the neutral ground (as this is heavily influenced by preference), its slow and lighthearted.

The 'good' part is that this story is 'different' in that it combines potions and food seasoning which is unique in its own way. Need more actual potion stories too.

As for the 'bad' part. Everything seems to work too conveniently. Every potion seems to be a convenient ingredient that is needed. Its like having the food and the random sauce just... more>> happens to complement each other. It doesn't feel like there is any necessary experiment/practice going on such as in Cooking with Wild Game. As though everything is handed down on a silver platter.

This is the rating before including translations. With the current translation, its 1 star. While I am grateful for the effort of the translator there is no point in lies. The translation is dreadful. Hopefully he improves. <<less

Still new so I gave it a three. It will depend on whether will be just like the other novels with food as their selling point.

Firstly, the start of the story is the same generic isekai commonly read out there. Was brought into a new world, use japanese/ modern knowledge, become well liked yada yada yada.

What made me like the story wasn't because of the whole isekai / food genre, but the underlying background setting. If the whole premise of how things came to be is added later with it... more>> being portrayed well, then I might increase my rating.

P.S. What the comment said above still bothers me since I saw the illustration. Like is she 4 ft 10 in and the guy is 6 ft 10 in ???? <<less

I decided to read this because there's soy sauce in the title but it's a pretty mild story. Given her circumstances, MC is slow and meek after years of cold treatment from her husband, who treats her like a free servant. The husband's POV chapters are actually more interesting to read in between the miniscule steps the MC takes in her new world. As one of the readers pointed out, his chapters are like terrible comedy skits of an unreasonable man with no common sense :D

The story is okay... not... more>> very interesting. There's cute kids, handsome men and a bunch of farming for EXP and potions at the beginner's cave. MC's introducing her local dishes to this new fantastical world that only eats bread (?) and not much of other things. The concept of the winning and losing potions is pretty nice. Just when paired with this MC, it's rolling at a snail's pace. That's slice of life for ya. I just wonder when she will tell everyone that she is, in fact, a 30-year-old woman and not a child like they assume she is? :>

Would recommend if you're looking for a palate cleanser in between your usual reads. Then once you get tired of MC, read her husband's POVs as a palate cleanser too :D <<less
