The biggest issue I had while reading this was the treatment for the ragdoll kitten. This was partially a translation issue and the author not using proper terminology like I mentioned before. The kitten was said to visibly have “ringworms” (Side note- ringworm is a fungus, not actual worms. Therefore you do not need to add the s to plural it). You have to use a black light to visibly see ringworm directly on a cat. The hair will glow towards the base of the hair at the hair root. Keep in mind- some minerals glow under a black light along with other things. If it’s just on the top, surface level of the hair, the cat likely just needs a bath. The veterinarian decides to shave the entire cat for treatment. This made me cringe hard. You only ever need to shave an entire cat if it has really bad matting. Otherwise, you only really ever shave target areas. Shaving in general is not the treatment for most skin problems, especially not ringworm. If your cat has ringworm, you can normal treat it topically with athletes foot cream. I don’t know what the author was trying to go for with the skin problems. As soon as I would think it was one thing, the author would write something that would contradict that theory.

It was also odd that they were able to determine that the kitten was a seal tip ragdoll so quickly. Color points take quite sometime to fully develop on kittens because the coloration forms based on temperature (cooler areas of the body turn darker, creating color points). The story described the kitten growing back hair rapidly to the point they are able to deduce it is a long haired cat. Again, a little odd to me because kitten hair is different than adult hair, often times longer and more whispy. Also would take longer than two weeks for the cat to grow back hair. The vet claims that while the cat is not a purebred, it could sell for over two grand. This isn’t true at all. Perhaps China is different, but a ragdoll mutt generally will sell for $100-$500, not $2000-2500. Keep in mind that $50-200 is a very standard adoption fee for a cat from a shelter. I have a ragdoll mutt child myself and was curious how much she was worth in the past because she so gosh darn pretty, so I have done research into this. I will say- the novel is scarily accurate in stating that besides looks, ragdoll are useless and have no cat skills. Definitely traded all their IQ for beauty lol. Though my pretty baby does occasionally like to sit on lizards, garden snakes, or scorpions because she likes the feeling of them wiggling under her. She just has her brother capture them for her and then she gets to play lol.

While reading her about her interactions with the vet, the vet seems like an incompetent fool that likes to scam people out for more money. He has moments where I like him and moments where I am like wtf? A lot of unnecessary money is wasted with the products she buys for the cats and the vet care. A lot of things she could cheaply DIY and make safer/better and a lot of the exams she can do herself if she took the initiative to learn. But oh well. Not like she cares about money much anyways lol.

I have a thing for Siamese cats. Very first cat was a stray seal tip Siamese. That being said- Siamese cats come in very strict color points. The darkest color points are chocolate and seal point. Both of these color points are a dark brown, not black. So I cringe a bit whenever I read the black description associated with the Siamese. A lot of people confuse Siamese for the oddest things and idk, my cat obsessive side is a little weirded out with how many people think tuxedo cats are Siamese.

Anyways, this is truly just me nitpicking. Truly love the story, just wanted to clarify a few things and share my knowledge.

I love that the characters in this story feels real. Like her parents initial hesitation only later to be doting tpwards the cats. My mom is the same with my cat >, < Anyways, I love the ML because he is not some overbearing, manipulative CEO but rather just a normal guy (though he is still wealthy but he is still within the realms of us plebs) who cares for her and doesn't really force her into relationship knowing her past experience.
