I Became the Inspector for the Villainess Lady

I was transported into a game.

However, the only information I received was that the daughter of the Kalisto Duke is the true antagonist of this world. One day, while I was adapting as an aide in the household, the “antagonist” called for me.

“You are hereby dismissed from your position as an aide. Instead, I have another task for you.”

“Another task?”

“I’ve created an inspection team named after me: the Lucius Inspection Team. Working there will be your new mission.”

If there is a turning point in destiny, this must be what it feels like.

But it seemed worth a try. After all, everything happens for a reason.

The story is pretty boring, like the other review said there's no sense of danger because his ability is a guaranteed win when it comes to combat. The author tries to induce a hypothetical restriction on the ability with the MC thinking that it could drive his body to destroy itself if faced against a strong enemy but I doubt that'll matter at all from the way it reads.

Honestly, it could be a very interesting ability, because the original body the MC is possessing only had 2 years of sword... more>> training, so many restrictions can be introduced, like it would place a strain on his body or something as simple as the ability activating without his control. But no he literally face no downsides, Aura capacity? Stamina? Let's just ignore all that and then after the fight suddenly claim he's just a little tired so he can drink this cool rare tea that helps him recover (so cool frfr). His abilities are so abstract and so half-hazardly written, honestly it reads like the author just introduced this mechanic just so he can ignore any combat specs and just write battles that he thinks are cool.

And that's the next issue, "cool". He suddenly copies John Wick with the coins and the sommelier weapon shop and describing it as "Well, it's just a name and a concept. It wasn't plagiarism. It was homage" vicariously breaking the 4th wall. The author does this several times, breaking the 4th wall for no reason just because, maybe to fill in word count or some sh*t but it just ruins the entire thing, it's like reading a self-insert fanfic.

Now let's talk about plot. The MC says he wants a laid back life but he suddenly does whatever the "mastermind"/villainess says and fully commits to her cause while also admitting that he doesn't know much about the original game's plot. The MC has no real goals, no self-interest, so far every plot point came directly to his feet while he does nothing but show off artifacts he got from the John Wick shop and show off his auto combat and constantly talk about how he is calm and can see everything while his body move on it's own, he then just come sprinting in front of the mastermind's feet and ask her what he should do with said plot point. Now I don't really mind the MC being a self-important mindless as*hole if the other characters are smart, but no everyone is dumb af.

The mastermind is smart, why? Because the author tells you she's smart. Why doesn't MC ability to tell lies work on mastermind or her brother? Just because. The fact that one possibility why the ability doesn't work is "social standing" Jesus, this novel is so f*cking dumb when you think about it. The fact that all of these characters are described as geniuses and everything they do is just so f*cking s*upid and plain. It's so f*cking s*upid when you think things through.

If you want to read PG13 KPOP Otome game version of Game of Thrones without using your brain, this is for you.

It's a 2/10 for me, it read fine when I tried to suppress questioning the novel, but more bullsh*t kept popping up. <<less

The novel is fine, personally I feel the pacing might get weird at a time but a fun read nonetheless

Spoiler

protagonist has two abilities to discern lies and autocombat, his second ability trivialize most of combat which kinda a negative point in my opinion since you can't feel his growth in strength

As for the harem tag, this novel currently has 2 significant female character : his boss "the antagonist" and MC knight lady. His boss is painted as the antagonist, but so far never does anything that truly evil thus there might be some chances for a misundestanding. As TL said this series kind of feels like Overlord but from the servant POV

Sorry for rather lack off propper gramar since my english is not that great <<less
