The first thought that came to my mind after reading about selling ten million VR capsules with no proper labour setup for their construction or sourcing their materials was "tax evasion". And that's putting aside whether health institutes would have allowed the use of this completely untested VR technology with no patents or explanation of its function.

But obviously, it requires a bit of suspension of disbelief - it is a fantasy story about returning from another world after achieving heroic deeds after all.

That said, simply introducing technology based on magic... more>> with no explanation is obviously somewhat sloppy (by the character, not the writer) and thus the MC should not be quite as surprised when people revere her as something supernatural - she does supernatural things after all.

That said, the whole "viewed as a goddess" theme builds up very slowly, and the majority of the content so far has been a few streamers, their chats, and forum reactions. That's still somewhat entertaining (especially as someone who is active on the equivalent of these game forums, although I don't engage in that much gossip), but readers should know what they're getting into. <<less

It's fun!

Not exactly the most complicated of plots, but the characters are great. The total number of important characters is limited, but they're all very entertaining. Daehyeop Kim for instance, is absolutely a Himbo and it is wonderful.

The story progresses at the bottom edge of what feels comfortable, but doesn't feel too slow. I don't really know why the story is TS though. It has been minorly important but not really.

Personally I'd like if a little bit of romance or something was added, even if it was just something like... more>> my favorite crack ship: Aka and Aurora (which will never happen in a million years, but I can dream). The Daehyeop Kim x Raven parts are hilarious though, so good enough.

Like another review said, this is the best game creation story I've seen on here. <<less

The novel doesn't seem bad, but its not hooking me into its world where I want to continue reading. I think it has a good set up of someone who had returned from another world making a VR game, but there are some aspects that I find lacking for what I expected. These things aren't flaws with the book per se, but more things that I personally dislike about the choice made.

The biggest thing for me is based on how the game itself just feels so generic and boring. In a game based on VR there is so much more potential for games. To give a simple example give the martial artist stamina, have them tire out in a fight if they move for too long. Aspects like having no cooldown on skills but you can overuse your muscles and it varies based on skills. Having martial artist be weak not due to skills, but since in a real fight you have little range and need to use your hands to hit the opponent. I think having the fights based off of something more like a real world would make this book a lot more engaging.

Currently to me this book reads like someone playing a generic MMORPG, with boring skills being spammed to kill enemies and changing the aspect from VR to Game would change very little.

It just feels disappointing to me since it feels like there is a lot of potential with this kind of book but this one and a few others I have found in this genre have a creative set-up but it just reads like someone playing a generic game on a desktop and just feels boring to me.

Legitimately a charming story. Probably my favorite game creation story, so far. Obviously, nothing game breaking or genre bending. I think what keeps me coming back is the players.

The main three players are all interesting characters to follow along with, the forum chapters are interesting. A light hearted story, with about nil conflicts. A simple, sweet and fun story about a hero making a video game for the masses.

I agree with most of the other reviews here and enjoyed reading this story but I also feel it's too generous to give it a 5/5 rating. I quite like the unique premise of how the protagonist, after returning from saving the otherworld, decides to create a virtual reality game based on it using the creator's privilege she was rewarded.

Contrary to what the title and description would imply there's not a whole lot of focus on the creation aspect of the game outside of the initial set-up. Most of the... more>> story is primarily focused on watching players playing through the game and the reaction of the world via community posts, comments, or broadcasts. On that point 90% of what we see players do is focused entirely on just repetitively doing raids and grinding dungeons and little is told about the rest of the game content which is hinted to be just as vast and interesting such as territory management, interaction with NPCs outside of forced cutscenes, or adventuring.

Others may disagree on this but I feel the author spent way too much time on what I'd call 'audience reaction'. Whether it's the gallery (basically forum posts and comments), YouTube, or broadcasts and their viewer comments it all just seemed rather shallow and meaningless when it comes to the overall story. What took up several paragraphs could've easily been summarized in a few sentences.

One thing I think others should know is the author has a bad habit of not mentioning important details or often only telling you far too late in the story as though it's something that you've already been told. To name a few you're never told how VR capsules are made until much later it's mentioned that it's made through Aurora's magic and Earth's administor. The game company's name, Record Eye, isn't even mentioned until halfway through the story. You're also never told how the virtual reality thing works until it's subtly hinted in the later chapters.

Spoiler

At first I thought the virtual reality game was made by using the actual other world that Aurora had worked hard on saving and then gamifying it. This seemed quite contrary to what she's done as a hero and her own personality and character that I've seen as it's as though she's treating the people there as though they were toys for her players to use. Imagine it from Raven's (the main heroine) perspective where she ends up being made a romance target for millions of people as each of them have their own instanced story, similar to FFF-tr*shero.

It's only much later where we're indirectly told that the protagonist had already saved an ens*aved colony within the otherworld before she had implemented it within the game. This tells us that the other world and virtual reality game are entirely separate with the actual other world being overseen and protected by Aurora where there's no object of destruction while the virtual reality game, which is a complete near-perfect copy of the other world, is what we see and read about.

Lastly it should be noted that the whole Goddess worship thing by the players only ever amounts to just being a popular meme throughout the story, with Aurora unintentionally growing it despite disliking it. It never amounts to anything serious. <<less
