Baek Woo-jin has spent three years playing a text-based game with 999 endings. In all those endings there is only death and misfortune for the character ‘Wolf’.

However, after finishing the last ending and preparing to close and then delete the game window, a small message window appears, offering Woo-jin a chance to create the 1,000th ending. Baek Woo-jin accepts the challenge, and possess the character Greed.

Has potential, but has sure taken it's sweet time to even get close to fulfilling that potential. I honestly really like the start. The first few chapters with the MC's inner monologue on display were pretty good. The issue is that he absorbs memories of some ancient eldritch god-like being, and it dilutes his personality. He KNOWS it'll do it, and yet still does the absorption. And from then on, he's an utter bore. Like, dreadfully boring and numb.

The only bright spot is that he -because he has this super... more>> godlike body and straight up aphrodisiac-like voice, he charms pretty much every female around him.

Now, in terms of the ladies, besides the fact that every girl has a crush on him (like celebrity crush style, not actually realistic) at this point there are really only 2 main contenders, and one may rise people's hackles. The issue is that the reason he played the game to all 999 endings was because he wanted to give one girl a good ending (she has literally none in 999). So he adopts her in like chapter 3, as a 12 year old, who's actually closer to a toddler. Then there's a series of timeskips until she's 18-20 or so (mostly over by ch 17 iirc). So he's RAISED this girl (with the other waifu candidate being 'the mother'), and she's after him. I guess you could say, rather than being her father she wants to call him daddy? Lmao.

So yeah, there's some squick factor, depending on how much that affects you. To be fair, he was an adult before transmigrating into an eons-old age-isn't-a-factor being, and he really has memories of that.

I'm honestly unsure how I feel about that, but regardless there is a more 'normal' waifu candidate, and she's perfectly fine. So yeah, at 45 chapters in, I'd say the story actually only started maybe 5-10 chapters ago... it was a really long prologue. The good news is that while the MC is emotionally numb, he's NOT dense, and knows about their feelings, and has actually promised to try to work on himself (feeling FEELINGS again, I suppose). It's really refreshing to see a non-dense MC. Dense MCs were unlikeable in 2001, let alone 2 decades later.

Could be good, could be terrible. Not sure yet. <<less

Somewhat regret not reading gottesurteil's review before I tried this novel.

The protagonist is good enough for me to have read this if another aspect of the novel didn't ruin it for me. He still fits firmly into the expected "Reincarnated into X academy" protagonist archetype with an obvious motivation of saving his favourite character, but his identity is compelling enough that I would have been willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

The problem comes from the character he wants to save. He adopts "Wolf" when she is a... more>> 12 year old child. "Wolf" is set up as a heroine. I gave it a few chapters after I realized that fact to see if either she or the protagonist address this and turn her romantic love into familial love as part of her emotional development, but I've been left out to dry on that front for long enough that I've lost hope of it happening.

This might not be a huge issue for some people, but a parent-child relationship like that is the biggest dealbreaker a novel can have in it for me. <<less

The novel is fun to read and the translation of the novel is good.

The protagonist transmigrated after playing all the ending of a game with 999 endings where the character Wolf is always dying.

After he transmigrated the main pourpose of the protagonist is protecting and training Wolf. He transmigrated in a charater that wasn't mentioned on the game but is the brother of the main villian (though the main the main villian is consumed by the protagonist) a and a professor in a accademy in Korea.

The protagonist is strong from... more>> the start, and the story is divided from the POV of him and the girl.

In the begging the story is more slice of life and sometime battles, after 100 chapter there are more battles and story pick ups from there. <<less
