I Became an SSS-Class Extra in the Apocalypse

April 1st. Just like a joke, I got trapped in an apocalyptic novel with a grim ending where the protagonist faces the destruction of Earth…

And I was just an unnamed extra who dies early in the story.

But the keyword #Apocalypse?

I actually like it.

You see, I’m a psychopathic diehard fan of apocalyptic fiction.

The end of the world! The extinction of humanity! That’s exactly the ending I was hoping for!

I don’t care what happens to others, so I’ll just find a secret shelter, live a carefree life, and perish along with the Earth!

…Or so I thought.

[The supreme god Indra proposes a guardian star contract to you.] Decline.

Where’s the block button?

[Indra asserts that if coffee, he’d be T.O.P, and rank-wise, he’s SSS-grade.] [Indra appeals to your worn-out conscience, saying that with you alone, he can change the ending of destruction.] [Indra……]

Ugh, I have no interest in saving humanity, so stop sending me spam emails…!

Moreover, the protagonist, who was supposed to be no-romance and boring in the original, is acting strange.

“From here, we’ll go our separate ways. You go save the people, and I’ll go to the shelter.”

“…No.”

Huh?

“I’ll always be by your side.”

Huh?

It seems I’ve not only received the sponsorship of the SSS-grade supreme god, but also caused the protagonist meant to save this apocalyptic world to turn his back on it.

Am I… supposed to take responsibility for this?

Surprisingly, I really like the main character (FL).

She's smart, knows how to use information to her advantage (even if she's deceiving others), and to put it simply, doesn't want to be involved in the whole "saving humanity" BS when humanity has long since forsaken her. I think that she's held back by her past, but I disagree with the idea that she's broken to the point of being unable to function and do anything.
Spoiler

Like she literally turned back and saved the ML from the Tentacle Monster, even after driving away. Sure, she needed his protection/strength to survive, but still, she was able to use her knowledge and execute a solid plan. Using her cardigan and blood as bait was all her.

[collapse]
Everyone around her shunned her and ostracised her for being the daughter of a serial killer, so in her mind, she's convinced that she's what people say she is (especially her mother, who, despite how harshly she's treated the FL, still holds a place in FL's heart, because she always yearned for her mother's love, and it's not something that you can get rid of so easily).

Additionally, FL also doesn't have that much of an attachment to life. Like, to be fair, she wants to live until the end of the world, but if she really wanted to live further past that, she would've

signed a contract with the literal strongest god guardian who offered for her to be his avatar

The ML is also kind of funny LMAO. Even though I've only read ~30 chapters, he gets upset when FL talks about parting ways, he turns away when FL is cute/beautiful, his ears blush red in response to the FL's actions. As the protag of the OG story, his strength was his unwavering sense of justice and combat strength, but in this version with the FL as the MC, one of his flaws is also his sense of justice.

Like, I'm sure it can get a bit ridiculous or annoying when he always wants to uphold justice, or won't kill certain people because they're just civilians, the fact that he upholds his morals is part of his charm. Because in a world of the apocalypse, where it's every man for themself, there's a man who'll could live without laws, whereas others would fight and kill each other for food and necessities. And I find myself liking that aspect of him since it's been made clear from the beginning of the novel that it's his personality to be that way. Partly because of his military experience (with his moral compass, being able to save ppl is something he can do, so he'll do it), and partly because of an aspect of his backstory we see in
Spoiler

the sea dungeon, where he dreams of his parents. In addition to his moral character, his family had told him to save others, which in my opinion, just adds to the idea of "a tragic character who saves ppl bc there's nothing else he knows to do with his life", and it's mentioned in the story how he wants to die saving people, because then it wouldn't be counted as su*cide.

[collapse]
Despite how he's mentioned in the story, when you think about it, he's surprisingly complex.

In all honesty, the FL's personality just reminds me of Cale from TCF, like
Spoiler

FL saving Lee Sehun by taking him with her, later further bring him with them to Busan because his "ability would be useful". Like, the excuses are pretty but she's not fooling any of the readers LOL. She helps people in her own way whilst convincing herself/passing it off as simply being useful to her or troublesome if she didn't do it.

[collapse]

So far, I like how everything is written, and I look forward to reading more and seeing how things progress. Hopefully we'll get more ML/FL moments

(and FL continues to learn about the emotions she's feeling in ML's presence)

i want to get on thing clear

When I rate a novel, I usually do it when I get to a good amount of chapter. However this novel is unbelievably so s*upid that I had to bring myself to hate it. Normally I dig these concepts and I dont mind some cliche stuff. but if your DOWN RIGHT plagiarizing, its get pretttttyyy hard to read

This novel has stolen so much elements from Omniscient readers view point, I find it hard not to point it out. Im no Omniscient readers view point... more>> meat rider, so this is an unbiased opinion.

Firstly the female lead is so... how do I say, s*upid. She makes her life harder for herself by with drawing herself from events and not accepting things as fast as she needs to. She claims to be a survival maniac, but hasnt adapted to that mindset. I understand that she's a bit traumatized but, immediately accepting

mass deaths of innocent humans just because u refuse to sign a contract with a literal god is kinda f*cking weird and messed up. And no girly, ur not a psychopath, u need therapy. And if yall make the excuse of "oh shes a morally grey character" NO SHE ISNT, she clearly DOES want to help the people, she deceives herself into a mindset of shes a psychopath because thats all shes been called. but shes A Normal HUMAN WOMEN WITH tons of trauma.

Now regarding the plagiarism, I wont be spoiler tagging this, so scroll if u don't wanna see.

There is not 1 BUT Multiple instances that make u think, "Hey, this is f*cking WACK AND FAMILIAR?!"

She has a parent in prison that happens to knows the og novel, KIM DOJKA ALSO has a parent in prison that knows the og novel.

Shes anti social, and got bullied for her father going to prison cuz hes a seriel killer. Kim dojka also got bullied cuz hes mother was a mu*derer.

She can view other peoples status due to her "contract god" Kim dojka can also view other peoples status!

Her first companion she had was a little kid, THAT has a super convenient power, Kim dojka also met 1 of his companions that was a little boy with a convenient power!.

She can literally speak to her god due to her not accepting his contract, and becoming like super op due to her knowing the plot, hey guess what??? KIM DOJKA CAN ALSO COMMUNICATE WITH GODS KINDA.

Their system isnt even orginal, Gods literally sponser other people their avatars to fight against the evil gods!? Sounds a bit familar doesnt it???

Oh and last one HAHAHAH the orginal protagonist happenes to also be a Hot TALL aND BROODY man.

Everytime this man speaks its always "he says with a baritone voice that echoes" WE GET IT!!! HE HAS A DEEP VOICE f*ck SAKES.

My last complaint??? hahaha, how f*cking sh*t the loopholes are. Her

A very frustrating read. I understand that author wants to build a unique personality for the characters but it just made them look pathetic. The FL is too broken to even function properly, and just would not do sh*t at all. The ml, holy fvck, he has a hero complex. Wants to save everyone, even those not worth saving. In short, this story is irritating to read, not worth at all. I was intrigued by how gorgeous the poster was, and the story plot is also promising, but after you... more>> read it, you'll be disappointed with how pathetic the author wrote the characters.

Good concept, bad writing. Poorly written and irritating to read. Not recommended if you have low patience like me. <<less

It's an interesting story, I really liked it.

The FL is kind of gloomy, but she's not a psychopath, she's just broken. She's just a girl who hates humanity because of her tr*shy mom, dad, stepdad, and stepsister.

With such an unfortunate family... who didn't want the destruction of everything?

The ML is a bit clingy, has a savior complex and is a bit irritating if you ask me.

I enjoyed this so far. It took me a bit to warm up to it but it's an interesting read given it shows the effects of changing the original story and fate of the world. Yes the protagonist is quite selfish at times in the beginning but I think complaining that she isn't developing and can't do anything is doing her a disservice since she does grow chapter by chapter. Looking forward to reading this more once more chapters pile up.

It's like an early work, the storyline and characters are awkward and cringy. The cover art is beautiful so I had high hopes but this is immature and I'm too spoiled by the polished novels. It almost feels like the author is consoling their self through the characters. I tried to stick around to see the plot grow but chapter 6 was my limit since this isn't clicking with me.

MC is a lonely sad child ostracized by her mother and step-sister after her serial mu*derer father was arrested. Her... more>> mother treats her like a cancerous wart and mentally and physically ab*ses her without remorse. In the first 'abusive mother' scene, ML steps in to console MC and reprimand the mother-daughter duo that blame their misfortune on MC. ML also observes MC meticulously and sees all her tiny behaviors that seem out of place with the other survivors in the group, MC stands out and ML is curious...

It's a fairly interesting plotline - apocalypse arrives, MC realizes it's like a novel she read, MC threw herself into studying apocalypse survival as a hobby when being ostracized by society for being the 'mu*der's child', and she stirs up the handsome ML's curiosity, and accidentally takes the protagonist's cheats for herself. Although, the plot execution is: beginner level. <<less
