After I defeated the Demon King, I was executed for false accusations by the heroines.

When I came back to life, this was the first thing they said.

“I know it’s shameless, but would you help us one more time? Without you, the world will be destroyed.”

…Would you help them if you were in my shoes?

This series started to get me excited only to fall into one of the most overdone tropes, becoming a complete letdown. Towards the start of the currently translated chapters, it becomes rather apparent our protagonist is mentally unstable, often hearing auditory hallucinations and having impulsive, mu*derous thoughts that he actually fights off. I was really hoping these were actually a part of the protagonist, that the betrayal he suffered did something to him mentally and that now the inherently good disposition he has would fight against the blossoming evil thoughts... more>> in a struggle. Instead... I got Naruto clone #1, 000 as it's revealed some ancient evil king dude is sealed inside of MC, one who's all powerful and above humans and wants to help with revenge, blah blah blah, you've heard the spiel and I've seen that sh*t done ten times over, I've had enough of it. It's boring, repetitive, not even well written in this case and completely stomps over everything that initially existed to draw the reader in. I'm genuinely so pissed at the author for choosing this route out of all of the paths he could've taken, because they'd set this up for something great only to f*ck it all up at the first chance they got. I couldn't even continue this story if I tried to force myself to keep push forward, due to how upsetting it is for the story to take this kind of turn. Even while out of all other series to read at the moment, I closed this one because the direction it shifted is just that terrible. I hope some day someone sees what this series could've been, takes inspiration, writes their own similar story but doesn't rely on the most overdone trope in all of recent fiction and instead actually explores the protagonist mentality. <<less

The story is good on a technical level with (mostly) consistent pacing and three dimensional characters. On top of that the translation work is phenomenal.

The real issues come with the writer's creative decisions. From the title and opening chapters it's sold as a revenge story. Main character is betrayed by his teammates, gets executed, and is reincarnated into the same world. It's pretty straight forward with lots of ways it can progress. But the main character seems to have little to no interest in getting revenge. What's more, just ten... more>> chapters in and there is now a reason that getting revenge would be catastrophic for the MC. So is this story supposed to be a revenge fic or not? Because everything about the set up is saying yes, but everything about the main character is saying no. <<less

Pretty bad.

at the start it seems to keep to the premise "betrayed hero +revenge".

The betrayers immediately get told by god that they f*cked up and the world will end because of them, yet in the next chapter they seem to have completely forgotten about it.

... more>> Worse, the "hero" reincarnates in a situation where he has to defeat the new evil because of "survival". So, the betrayal ultimately had no negative effects on the world and the hero will still save everyone.

The author seems to have no real direction for his plot, as the entire settings around the MC change every 7 chapters or so.

As for cliches... is basically naruto+jjk, evil dude sealed inside the MC. <<less

The most general rundown I can give without spoilers is that MC gets betrayed by his party members and is promptly executed after defeating the demon king, he is then reborn into the body of a young boy about a year after his execution. I would assume the story's already low score can be attributed to people seeing the description and opening chapter which rightfully gave off the impression of the 100000th revenge fantasy copycat. Though it might devolve into the usual cliches later down the line (comes with the... more>> harem tag ig) for now the story is pretty solid and not as typical as one might assume mainly because the MC vehemently chooses not to give into his darker desires to kill all who wronged him, damned shame since that always makes for a great story (sarcasm btw). But yeah that's what mainly sets this story apart but that is more than enough cause it allows the story to go in any direction it pleases, it doesn't just lock it in the lane of a revenge fantasy. The other thing that it has going for it is that this story is still really dark in tone, it's like the setting was created for a revenge fantasy, with highly manipulative characters, violence and general antics like that, but our MC doesn't easily give in to the evil rather focusing on surviving in order to hopefully live a peaceful life away from everything. Then there is the harem tag which I know many people hate but there is a pretty good coherent story in addition to that, like I said earlier it might devolve into revenge or the usual 'emotionally and psychologically tormenting all of the attractive women that wronged me' sthick but I'll give the author the benefit of the doubt cause he's really setting up a good story and I'd be pretty impressed if he actually delivered something meaningful from such a contrived premise. So all in all it's still early in but I've enjoyed what I have read and like the direction that the story is currently going in, so I will be keeping my eye on it. Here's to hoping. (Damn I'm a certified yapper, I didn't plan to type out this much especially not for 11 chapters💀...) <<less

I honestly don’t get the low reviews it does what the title says pretty well. I get that it is not some peoples cup of tea but why even click on the page. The translation is good and the translators seems to frequently rewrite chapters to make them better and clearer. Even if I don’t love every aspect of the story it is still good.

The novel isn't worth your time. It had a good start but the whole direction it is developing into is very bad, and riddled with plot holes. The NU rating is so low for a stark reason.

The whole revenge tragedy of Oh I'm So Pitiful trope is getting milked so dry that the mother would need to be euthanized.

Cliches are whatever, it's honestly unavoidable in stories, and this story didn't have too bad of cliches.

Spoiler

A natuto type inner demon seal, saved the world but betrayed, etc but nothing that makes the story unreadable cliche wise.

[collapse]

However, again, the whole story development was just screwed over from the moment the MC left his home in his second life. And the MC being as powerful as he is doesn't even try to escape. The MC is honestly worse than one of those airheaded Japanese virg*n protection protags. <<less
