Warning, im use translator when writing.
So let's start with the fact that I really LOVE this story and for now it is my fixation (save my soul I will go crazy screaming into the void)
As many people have mentioned, the beginning may seem boring to some, but I advise you to give this work a chance. It's worth it. Having survived the train arch (I swear I would have fallen asleep on it and the beginning of the glacial one) and since started the orphanage institute arc the story takes its first turns and begins to fully develop the plot since the rose arc after collecting all the pokemons in main cast. The worldbuilding is nice and enjoyable. As a piece of advice, I can say that they love use lies here, one lies to another, another believe it and lies to third, and that’s how this network blooms. Indeed, some violent manipulations with the environment make sense, but this is already the spoilers. So, why did I say this, if something seems suspicious or you want to squint eyes at someone’s conclusions “??! why did you even get that -.-” - remember this for the future + it’s nice to unravel these tangles and build theories on your own. I give my love to the arcs of the orphanage institute, the witch's arc and the floating house arc. The characters are fine and well-developed, both MC and secondary characters. I may also particularly speak highly about witch characters, as well as their arc as a whole and the social issues addressed in it. Analyzing the antagonist is really neat. Their parallels with MC are probably bestest for me. Really super tasty salad. In fact, if you can think for more than 2 seconds, he does not cause as much hatred as is many often said. Also from the end of the orphanage institute arc and the first mention in the temple, it becomes cristal clear that this case is smells like kerosene, and what should we do when the case smells like kerosene? right, dig into every little detail and theorize :"D Its pretty fun. His personality is very controversial and exposed to misinterpretation more easily than anyones else. But little more about this in the spoiler part, as a guide I can only advise to always asking the right questions about his actions and identity, it makes sense (however, he is a rare bird and for more valuable content you'll have to wait a long time) Anyway, mark my words 6 is a really interesting character. Blind division to black and white and so common “antag for pure hatred” deprives you of part of the delicious cake.
It’s funny, but while giving great love for the MC, secondary characters and antagonist, I can’t say much about ML. ML is good and line with him too but for me that's all. This is probably due to the fact that despite many hopes from the beginning of the story, by the end I was more likely disappointed. While you read it is evokes emotions, but 10 minutes after reading it’s indifference. I can’t plainly speak badly, many people likes this character and the line with him and many will like him. However, it’s not my salad, "depending on the taste and color". The further into the forest, the more firewood, and the further into the chapters, the more parallels between MC and 6, as well as the fates of the other characters, felt more interesting than the line with ML. Its good, but not strong enough, probably this is most appropriate thing I can say. Especially against the backdrop of the parallels between willow and six, self-centric tragedy is really strong and we need to talk about it more.
Unfortunately, we don’t feed on advantages alone. Little is said about this, but the main enemy of me as a reader: inappropriate softening of corners. If you can close eyes on small softenings and not worry, then to larger and sharper ones - no. Yes, we are talking about the ending of the witch arc and finale. I can also add the 5 houses arc, the more you know and the more you think, the more meaningless and strange it looks. So, let’s return to softenings, I personally call the two extreme cases mentioned above “random raccoon syndrome”, because there are no other words for the feeling when at the very last moment it’s as if they pick up a random raccoon from the street and say “forget everything that happened before and write whatever you want but in strange and no sense way, but most importantly, without sharp corners and maybe with pink glasses, ” ghhhh I can’t. The syndrome begins exactly at the moment when you think “here it is!!, the ideal atmosphere and moment, it’s going so damn well.” All that remains after such endings its a feeling of depreciation of everything that happened earlier, disappointment and anger. Regarding about finale, together with the raccoon, he suffers from confusion, logical contradictions with previous information and general meaninglessness and naivety.
Personal opinion: finale just disappointment. I would really prefer to see a bitter, but beautiful ending to a self-centric tragedy. Anything but not this. A happy ending made just for the sake of a happy ending. I also less understand the side of those who like this "happy ending", because all the time u in grip of feeling falsity and somthing like MC selfoblivion-trip more than reality.
That's all for the non-spoiler part.
As a result, even if there is a salty aftertaste from the ending, I think rather well about this story and highly recommend reading it!! A lively, well-written story with a pleasant gradual revelation is waiting for you to binge-eat it :)
---
and now the LITTLE SPOILER PART NOT MUCH SPOILER BUT STILL I WARNED
I’ll go through the earlier mentions a little. I’ll continue with the less pleasant, softened corners are no joke, and if in some places this is normal, then in some places the stick is bent. This feels especially disconcerting given the setting and early arcs. What are you talking about, literally everyone can kill, the teammates, opponents for whom is excusable after 5 seconds, but not Bai Liu)) Forget the initial arcs and some exceptions, at the moment when the plot wants to pseudo-educationally twirl its finger “but-but-but” everything will be covered forgotten. But on the other hand, we’ll rush off to play seperprettylifeguards as in Heart su*cide case, when the point in the storyline was much more emotionally and plot-wise good just withount this)) just fir a couple of lines of filler)) And i’m silent about 5 houses arc and the finale, my sanity is dead.
Ugh, moving away from the negativity and cri de coeur: a lot of what I would like to say is sufficiently reflected in the reviews of other readers, so here a couple of words about six. The high degree of misinterpretation is not a joke and history contributes to this (and this is normal). Behind all this performances and lies, we see one of the most fun salads to interpret. The parallels between Willow and Six are quite tasty and permeate the entire work. It's also nice to see how many of the lines essentially refer to both of them. The starting and ending points of one cycle alternate with each other. Doomed and incredibly beautiful. It’s even an incredible pity that their common line was not implemented in an appropriate way, given the problems of the finale. Literally the last missing piece of the story... (a less morally safe piece of the review: after reading I decided that parallels and food were not enough for me, so I fell into selfcest and am satisfied. If you are crazy enough like me, I give a recommendation, among all the selfcests in my history of eating this food is the most delicious and insane in dynamics)
However, Bai Six is too diva, an absolutely doomed b*tch, I will fight for this suicidal princess.

Okay. Baffled me at times. ML rarely appears other than to make MC feel angsty and sad. Story gets real bland and writing gets rushed towards the end. Not gonna spoil much but goes downhill after rose factory arc.

😿 That was.... something.

Honestly it's a really cool concept.

Live laugh love Bai Liu. He is clever, powerful and is so charismatic, he charms even those who had set out to mu*der him in the beginning.

I love the found family trope so much. In such a thrilling, action packed novel, this trope really warmed my heart.

I have to admit though, I did have times when I wanted to drop the novel because the storyline was becoming more and more complicated. I'm glad I stuck through it though because it was a great read. <<less

To start, I'm not very good at reviewing things but I really like this novel and its characters, so I want to write a few things.

Bai Liu (the MC) is a madman who is very greedy. It's to the point that, no matter what happens, even when it seems like he's at rock bottom with no way out, I believe that it's all part of his plan. As long as the chance of survival is not 0%, he will not stop. He's a gambler who gambles even himself. He will... more>> never allow himself to experience a loss. Anyway, I'm in love with him.

He's very cute.

The side characters are cute too, especially Tang Erda. I don't know which character for Tang his surname is, but to me, he is 糖. Just so sweet and cute. No matter what, I can't hate him. He's a very realistic character. Like Tangtang, it's also very hard to truly dislike any of the side characters (apart from the true genuine scums). They all have a lot of depth and are all very interesting. None of them are forgettable.

As for the ML, he's got a lot of stuff going on. I mean, he has 3 names... But he's also really good!! He doesn't appear often in the early half of the story, but enough for you to be excited for his next appearance.

The plot is good too! The arcs are all very interesting, and keep me on edge every chapter. Some of them are quite dark, though. The humour is also just right. Personally, I think the pacing of the story is very good and there is no such thing as info dump in this novel!!

Anyway, Bai Liu is baby, and read for Bai Liu. He alone is 5 stars.

I need protagonists like him. Please give me some <333 <<less

This novel is one of the best ones I've ever encountered and I'm so glad it entered my life.

All the characters are so lifelike, with their own logic and personalities, and the author goes over most of their pasts in detail, allowing us readers to understand every character a bit more. The main character is so unique and has a natural charisma that makes it hard to hate him. He is decisive and knows exactly what he wants. While the romance takes a bit time to progress, I love the... more>> couple's interactions. In fact, I love all the character interactions and I wish the author would've added in some more extras at the end. The author perfectly combines angst and comedy in a single story and this novel will forever be in my top favorites. <<less

One of the best read I have had. The world building was detailed and planned through. I have cried in my journey throughout this novel. The main villain though is really a villain and has the consciousness of one (a matter of fact he stated it pretty often). There were alot of times I was cussing him in my head. I often yell cheater and loser inside.

When it was chapter 400+ the author was hastening everything though. I think it could have been more detailed. It was a bit of a rush though everything was still covered up.

Ups for MC guardian/parents/friends. They were the best.

TBH, my impression of this novel is very mixed. I think that the world is very detailed and there seemed to have been a lot of attention paid on setting it up properly, but I always feel like there are gaps. This is not the fault of the story, but mostly on the fact that my comprehension began to slip by a LOT after all the action LMFAO. I thought this would be like your typical infinite flow novel. Fast-paced and focused on problem-solving. However, it ended up being more... more>> action-based than anything. OK, idk if I'm making any sense, so let's go with the summary first!

Summary: The novel starts like your typical infinite flow novel. The MC, Bai Lu, is dragged into a game world inexplicably and is forced into an instance where he has to solve puzzles, fight baddies, etc. in order to survive. The tone of the novel is very mature, but it's not completely dark. I mean, in most infinite flow novels, the situation seems to be hopeless for most people. But, here, players can directly watch others clear instances and make use of that knowledge to clear the instance themselves. Like this, we also get to see the reactions of the older players to Bai Lu's style of playing --- which is heavy on surprise tactics that seems to have been thought of as soon as he had entered the game.

I don't particularly mind that the MC is OP, but others might XD It's true that he's a bit too all-knowing. And that there doesn't seem to be much tension in the instance themselves. It's more like a playground that the MC casually strolls around on as he gets into conflict with other players and guilds. (I don't dislike this concept, to be honest. It means that you get to truly know the characters here, at least, but yeh, it's a bit weird.) The side characters, especially, don't feel like side-characters at all. The author gives each of them a complex background so that they can stand steadily throughout the story and not just fade away like in most other infinite flow novels (where the MC's team is just casually watching him clear instanes lol.)

ANYWAY, I won't be doing a full review on this novel cause I didn't make it halfway. The untranslated half (after RM's translation) it was really not easy to read -- so I gave up mostly for this reason. My current impression though... well, how to say it? I think that it's interesting and worth taking a look into, but it's also a little bit of a bog sometimes. I'm not someone who likes action all that much, so I guess this makes sense. If that's more your style, you should enjoy this story more than I did. I won't be giving this novel a rating either because of the reason mentioned above! However, my preliminary rating would be around 3.75-4.25 stars out of five. Not bad all in all, a better than average read, at the very least! But, perhaps not my kind of story in the end. <<less

A MASTERPIECE!!!

this is by far the best unlimited flow novel ive read so far. The arcs are longer than your usual unlimited flow novels, but that is to set a solid background so that once the plot starts moving, you'll really be invested in it. Except from the first arc that was a litte draggy (this was because the author had to introduce the mechanics), the other arcs are truly spectacular.

besides the main team, there are several likeable characters. My personal favorites are

of course, first and foremost is ml.

but my favorite version of ML is no doubt as spades, the ace of the number one guild Killer Sequence. Just from the start, I found him so lovable! He is a big lizard (not actually a lizard) who doesnt understand basic human sense, and is unintentionally unhinged. He often runs away in the middle of the teamfight and his teammates legit have to chase after him to keep up LMAO

his interactions with bai liu as xie ta/tawil is very bittersweet, but as spades, he is blunt and honest with his feelings, would shamelessly ask for a kiss with a straight face, and cuddle with bai liu to keep him warm. Though the romance is rare in this novel, the short but fluffy moments with the two made me scream so hard HAHAH

next up is my favorite character in the entire story aside from the main cp——Reverse Cross Disciple, the new tactician of Killer Sequence. By far the most mysterious character in the entire story, and probably the best written character. If I had to talk about his entire story, I would need about three pages.
Spoiler

in reality, he is lu yizhan, bai liu's best friend in this worldline. He is the last remaining prophet playing the werewolf game with the evil god bai liu (6) and has lasted for over 657 rounds. He is also the mysterious captain of the first team.

also, his love story with fang dian is very bittersweet. In 001 worldline, Fang Dian was the captain of the first team and these two were in love. After many twist and turns, these two finally got together in the current worldline 658. Captain, please marry your wife :')))

[collapse]

Besides the killer sequence, the king's guild truly hit me hard with dem characters.

Spoiler

phoebe is a menace to society, even her brother clown thinks shes unhinged as fck HAHAHA the other teammates are really afraid of her cuz shes super mean. She and Jiayi would be very good friends

Hearts, tho... I truly didn't expect that. A very complex character who has history with evil god bai liu (6). also, turns out Hearts is biologically male

her character is splendid, I truly felt her rage. I mean, even I couldnt control myself from fuming because of what those people did. The city in the sky sharing women with others as "business cards" made me vomit, what a disgusting bunch. Hearts brutally torturing them was very VERY valid. Slay queen

[collapse]

Spoiler

as for golden dawn, the brothers' arc was shorter than the others but I like it alot!! Georgia is such a sweetheart, hes so gullible and got tricked by bai liu into selling his soul when bai liu went back ten years in time to when georgia was still 16 HAHAH. Also, sorry author, although I know mu sicheng and armand are straight men, I will pretend to ignore and continue to ship these two >:0

[collapse]

Spoiler

then theres deer hunter. Well, I have nothing to say about cen buming, hes a complex char with alot of depth. Hes the first generation hunter and has been going through nearly 300 worldlines as the prophet's hunter. But well, because he didnt obey orders and killed someone innocent, his hunter title was revoked and the second generation hunter became tang erda. and then theres daniel, this child that im not sure if I hate or like. Hes unhinged, batsh*t crazy, and insanely possessive over bai liu. However, hes also a child forced by circumstances to become crazy. His childhood was traumatic, I would honestly go insane as well. Do I like him? Yes. Do I want him dead? YES.

It just became my top IF novel.

I appreciate the long arcs (30-50 chapters per arc) because they fully lay out the storyboard with lots of foreshadowing and the world building is really well done. I've read a few other IFs but none were as close to this. The relationships between the characters are so delicate. How all the puzzles fell into place was very well planned by the author. The author also used a few lines from famous poets/people which was nice, also her inspirations from Cthulu Mythos was pretty amazing. I think this is one of the IFs that made me cried the hardest.

Characters wise, MC Bai Liu is a morally grey character. Even so, seeing what he does will still make you like him. He's not perfect, but he's not a bad guy too.

I like how pure ML is, his reactions are sometimes really naive and adorable. However as ML is designated as a supporting role, his focus was not as big as MC.

The side characters were quite well developed, they had outstanding personalities and not just another character that was used to complement or act as a backdrop for the MC. I like how each of their background stories were elaborated so you get to know them better. You'd get really attached to them. There's a character Daniel whom I originally hate but sort of put down my hate towards him at the end so this was kinda surprising.

As usual, romance is slow burn that starts at around chapter 200+. The smut was well written without the explicit details but already takes the cake for an IF novel.

If I had to nitpick, I didn't like the ending. It felt a bit rushed and there's a point that wasn't explained well enough (not sure if it's because of my ability to understand) and the HE didn't give me a sense of "ahhh finally" kind of feeling.

Some of the arcs are quite memorable. I'll mention a few without spoiling.

Rose factory arc: The romance deepens, you get to know a bit more about their relationship. There's a few meaningful phrases from here that I really liked.

Frozen tundra arc: Broke my heart totally. The game's experiment on humans was very deep. What makes a human a human?

Haunted village arc: Had a heart wrenching story although it was initially pretty creepy. I enjoy the chinese horror setting with Maoshan Taoist magic involved.

Evil god festival arc: I think this is where the the co-relationship between the MC and ML clears up, very touching and painful arc.

Qiaomu Private High School: Most of the plot holes are filled up. There is a whole chunk of romance plot here. It's filled with love and friendship all put to test. Very touching arc.

Drowning person from the future: For this final arc I cried all the way to the end. I binged this arc and even though I knew this IF to have a HE, I still cried a river.

No regrets using one month and 1 litre of tears reading this novel.

I actually made an account to review this because I felt like lowly rated reviews based on only the first few arcs is a little unfair to how good GHG is, especially considering how long it is and how popular/many fanworks it has (which is what intrigued me enough to start it).

The first few arcs are still very standard to the unlimited flow genre, to where you think you're starting to understand the formula, but it is definitely not formulaic at all, at least not in the way that'd you... more>> think. I would definitely stick around until after Arc 3 where the Heresy Bureau is introduced because that's where the overarching plot even begins to start unfolding.

GHG is really good about fleshing out its characters, and the relationships that MC has with everyone, without just limiting it to the ML. Things I didn't expect: Really Good Found Family. It's kind of to a point where I feel like they outweigh ML's significance (though I do love his moments), maybe because one of the core themes is MC experiencing all different kinds of love. But in any case, every character gets their own dedicated development which 1) I didn't expect 2) I didn't expect to be extremely-genuinely-super-good.

At the moment I could probably go on forever so I might edit this with more praise later but TLDR: Yes, I REALLY recommend sticking with this novel until the end. I dare say it's a standout and better than any other in the genre, which I think will become apparent as the translation progresses. 🥺😭❤ <<less

    • I don't know why others review this novel so low when it's really good but anyways this is a must read I say it's not your typical horror game/unlimited flow since the MC is really greedy and manipulative. If I were to describe Bai Liu he is someone who's bad yet good, he do what he wants to do, he do something really crazy just to achieve what he wants and he is someone you can't help but trust and so far he is the most human player I've ever seen in horror games since he really abide and follow human rules.
    • The ML:I really can't say so much since he rarely appears in the novel but if I were to say he's someone who's really innocent (really not sure since he's the evil god in the game yet the appearance he had everytime he appears is something I can describe as cute and innocent)
    • Plot: the plot really is what I'm interested about it's so good that I really look forward to each chapter and I can't help but read it carefully and throughly so I really want to read it until the end until I find answer to the question I have in mind.
    • Romance:Regarding the romance, it's slow burn but everytime the couple gets to see each other were so precious and priceless that I can't help but cheer for them ( )
And so far I'm quite stuck at the latest chap and was waiting for the next chapter to arrived so I really hope you'll read this gem since its really worth the while and the arcs were so exciting and thrilling that you'll really get mad when you're interrupted (like me since I was reading a really good part and then mom suddenly calls for me and I almost got my phone

broke since I'm really pissed

(

)

)
and regarding about the important characters/ Bai Liu group, I really like them though not as much as I like the MC and ML so I really recommend this if you're looking for something new and refreshing unlimited flow novels

This novel has good world building and characters I love. The MC loves money and is a good manipulator who brings everyone on his side. I thought the story was gonna progress a certain way, but then I found out that the beginning wasn't the main storyline. More characters are later introduced and are forgotten about only to be brought back. Why? Because everything is somehow connected! It's a bit confusing tbh. It was good in the beginning, boring in the middle, but it got good for me again when stuff about the league was involved. Oh, and, this is slightly gruesome novel. BE WARNED!! You either like this novel or you don't, and I like it.

UPDATE!! I completed it and this has to be in my top 5! PLEASE READ TO THE END, the end has to be the best part!!

This novel made me cry a lot and it had a lot of ups and downs but it's amazing! Unfortunately I can't changed my rating to a 5 tho. Also, basically all characters have their backstory explained so you end up loving every character after hating them the moment before. I warned you, there are MANY ups and downs.

Spoiler

I'm a bit sad knowing that only Bai Liu's believers/super close friends remember him and not other people like Hearts or Georgia 🥲 and the fact that there aren't any extras.

I don't think I've ever read an intelligent MC thats quite as well written as this. The author makes sure to fully explain how he pulls of every aspect. I really like how the writing will sometimes show the climax of MC's scheming which makes it seem like the MC is just doing his best to get by and has a mostly worked out plan. Then after his success have a flashback to when he's actually scheming.

This kind of MC would be awful if all the characters he uses in... more>> plans were 2d and basically puppets. But each character is well thought out and MC plays to their own motives and wishes. Every characters actions makes sense and it gives the reader the feeling of, "Well since I can see he's taken everything and everyone into account of course he succeeds!"

Another plus is the audience reactions to his schemes so funny! And all the secondary character are so loveable! (Unlike the mean manipulative MC QAQ)

I started this story as I was looking light read but the plot actually gets incredibly complex (in a good way) and extremely intriguing
Spoiler

the game's impact on reality is intriguing and the writer has done this quite uniquely

I really love that for once the whole time travel to save the world from doom is from another character's perspective. Not to mention he's literally travelling dimensions to save world from ruin BECAUSE THE MC ALWAYS DESTROYS THE WORLD. I was starting to get a bit iffy seeing how even the child version of the MC was so cold and calculating but considering that in every other universe he apparently grew to be an evil ruler it doesn't come of as tacky anymore.

I've caught up with the translation and read past it for a few chapters by a machine translations but it really doesn't read that well so I'll wait for the proper translation to finish. <<less

Jesus, god really hates Bai Liu
CH125: I am reading the MTL and about to finish the arc of Love Welfare Institute and I must say that so far this is one of the best novels I have read, the arcs may be long and the MC does not appear much at the beginning (at least as far as I am) but It keeps you incredibly hooked even if the arc lasts a long time, besides, it has been a long time since I have read a novel that has given me surprises and I must say that this one has succeeded.
At first I was a little undecided about the development that was given to some characters

As Liu Jiayi

But I must say that the author knows how to make the development happen correctly, in addition, it has also been given that the development of certain characters of which to say the truth I did not expect much from, has happened and I feel somewhat proud of them.
I would recommend this novel totally, but I will warn you to not expect too much romance out of the gate and that there's quite a lot of blood, I think this is more about action and the world building is quite good for my standards. Maybe the romance will develop later (which for me it's okay).
Maybe my rating may change in the future, but I will keep reading for now.
Edit: Okay, I'm now in ch253. Now we finally know more about ML and MC, also there's quite a lot of plot twists I must say lol, and may be some holes in the plot but they are very small for me, so I can overlook them.
From the Instite arc on there would be some big plot twist in there I think, like, a little too big for my taste, but eventually I kinda got used to it? I'm not sure if that would be everyone's taste but the plot keeps going on.
Edit CH 421: If I remember it correctly we would start getting fluff after CH 300. It's really, really slow burn.

So far this novel is really good. There's good character development and I love the MC.

I don't really know how to describe it but the MC's way of thinking is just too crazy, but you'll love it. It makes you go "HOLY SH- WOW IS HE ACTUALLY GONNA DO THAT?!"

Once you start reading the first arc, you can't stop.

Spoiler

The ML doesn't appear much at first and you might start shipping MC with his friends but he's probably gonna show up more sometime later in the story

really really really good. One of the best IF novel I've read. I really like the characters, plot, instances, and just everything. If you want fluff, there's fluff (but not between the MC and ML). If you want comedy, horror, an amazing plot, and faceslapping, they are all there. A lot of people said that the romance was pretty nonexistent in the beginning, but I actually liked that aspect since the MC does his own stuff without the ML intervening. And all of their little interactions are really cute and... more>> fluffy like

Spoiler

the end of each arc when the MC asks the ML to attack him. And in the second arc the ML bit his lips since that was the only "attack" that wouldn't kill him. Adjsjsadg I died

And there are a bunch of CP moments with all the shous in the MC's harem. Mu Sicheng and Mu Ke are actually the cutest shous ever. Mu Sicheng is the classic lively college student with a little tsundere side and Mu Ke is the classic pretty and delicate rabbit-like shou. And whenever the ML is out of the picture, it really feels like Bai Liu is the gong. There's not enough blatant indicators to tag this as a reverse harem, but the chemistry is there.

And the instances. They really get my adrenaline running and feel like I got a few heart attacks whenever the MC comes close to dying. Which is a lot of times. The side characters aren't 2D and it's pretty funny whenever they get abused by the MC. And I always get excessively riled up whenever the arc reaches the climax, like my uncles during the superbowl. It's really easy to just get swept away in the epicness of the final battle scenes and it feels like you're actually part of the reacting audience.

Overall a cute, thrilling, funny, and dramatic read. <<less

So far so good. Good character development, no 2D people who only act a certain way.

Romance is slow coming which is good as it gives plot way to develop rather than the MC being carried in every instance. MC is probably deranged but in a good way, he follows the law and knows his stuff.
