Ah ah ah!! I loved this story so much. Funny, angsty, romantic, along with action. Absolutely recommended. The story, ending, and extras are all five stars!!

This novel keeps on giving me a 'what the f*ck' moment. Like, the story started off simple. But, as you read through it the author introduces a surprising backstory. After that, the story progresses into a completely unexpected direction. This might not be necessarily a bad thing though. The concept is fresh and unexpected, giving it a fresh take on the reborn trope. Later on,... more>> we get an adequate amount of angst along with humor as well.

Moving on to the characters. Everyone in this novel is batsh*t crazy lol. MC is shameless, proud, bold, and I'm living for it. Kind of similar to Shui Ruoshan from 'This Way of Transmigration is Definitely Wrong'. He's not afraid to speak his mind towards ML (even though he scary as sh*t.... we'll get to that later). What's funny is MC comes from modern society and uses lots of slangs, while ML comes from the ancient martial arts era. So most of the time ML can't comprehend what the heck he's talking about but keeps on doting on him lmao. This point really adds to the comedic factor for me.

ML is creepy as f*ck. Do you love those yandere type of boys? Yes, ML is a total yandere (that might be the reason you're reading this novel lmao). I suspect he has a few screws loose from his head. Holy cannoli. He might just be one of the craziest MLs I've ever discovered, even crazier than Luo Binghe from 'Scum Villain Self-Saving System'. He loves MC to death (uhm... literally). Kills anyone on sight that might harm his happiness of living together for eternity with MC, possessive as sh*t, yada yada, your usual yandere stereotype. I mean, how sane is a person 'living' in a coffin with his deceased love interest for 1000+ years???

So far, I love their interactions. I'm trying my best not to spoil the story too much but they do love and take care of each other. ML has sacrificed so much just to be with MC. Meanwhile, MC isn't the weak character stereotype that always needs protecting, he's also able to support and protect ML. The way they fall in love makes sense, it's not forced in any way. MC's feelings towards ML isn't so superficial as in only falling for his looks either. He does accept how ML is entirely, including his fake good guy attitude.

Spoiler

I like how the more MC mingles around with ML, the more blackened he becomes. Like, "If you dare hurt my beloved husband then you need to die!" kind. He probably doesn't realize that though uwu

Completely in stitches! Dying of laughter, please send help. With web novels and much lower standards of review I usually give it about 20-30 chapters to hook me, but this had me from the get-go with an absolute gremlin of a protagonist who reacts like one of the modern day readers would. (Be honest, if you were transmigrated/reincarnated into the body of a beautiful cultivator whose boyfriend/husband is also a beautiful cultivator who insanely loves you and actually you, the transmigrated reader, exactly how many complaints would you have, hmm?)... more>>

Instead of lamenting some past life/existence that pales in comparison to what he currently has or worrying about too many unnecessary things, this MC takes advantage of being doted on and indulged in to check precisely how many abs his new husband has. Let’s call this spectacular comedy for an otherwise macabre setting, and handled excellently. There’s always an uneasy undercurrent despite the humor due to the severity of the situation and the background that led to all this, but the surface hilarity is good at moving the readers along without inundating them in what would otherwise be a maudlin tragedy if handled chronologically.

Superb so far and I’m following this to the end for better or worse. How can I miss out on what ridiculous triggers the author will use next for plot events? I cannot believe I’m looking forward to the next time the MC has diarrhea again. What have I become? (???) <<less

Silly, or rather, very ordinary, modern-day young man turned zombie shou!MC x crazy af, yandere, immortal-ish zombie (?) gong!ML.

Spoiler

No joke, pretty sure the ML is certifiable, but 1200 years sleeping next to the corpse of your beloved in an underground palace makes this understandable (plus, a gruesome, tragic backstory doesn't help).

[collapse]

Short plot summary: MC mysteriously wakes up one day and finds himself in another body, inside a coffin, lying next to a (very handsome) ancient corpse. That seems to be alive and really into the MC. Wtf!?!?!?

One thing that surprised me, but as it's not treated as a big plot twist or anything, so I don't consider it a spoiler, is that the setting is modern-day. I thought the MC transmigrated into a cultivation world, but apparently he just transmigrated into a body that was in this huge, ancient underground palace.

I think the main couple's interactions are pretty interesting so far. They get together very quickly (though it's not all smooth sailing). The MC is easy-going and relatable with his modern-day sensibilities. He accepts his predicament quickly after freaking out a bit. The ML's mental state is very worrying, as he's an extremely jealous, violent (to others), and kinda insecure person. His past relationship with his beloved did not end well (something we, the readers, find out early, but the MC is still in the dark about). At times, it almost feels like reading a thriller because the ML seems like he's on the verge of his sanity snapping, so part of the fun (for me) is waiting to see if that happens. But it's not all dark, the MC's personality and the differing culture clashes between the main couple leads to a lot of hilarious moments.

About the MC's backstory...

Spoiler

One reason why he's so accepting of everything is that he comes from a loveless family, with only his grandmother having a proper relationship with him before she died. So, getting a handsome, doting husband and a palace full of riches seemed like a good deal to him, who is pretty unlucky with love. However, I didn't see the twist with the MC's true origins coming. MAJOR SPOILER--if you plan on reading this series, refrain from spoiling yourself since this spoiler is revealed in chapters 20-21.

[collapse]

Spoiler

He's a prior transmigrator with a system and everything (think Shen Yuan/Shen Qingqiu from Scum Villain Self Saving System but with time travel instead of being sent into another world--or at least that's how it's being played out; we still don't know the full story--) turned reincarnator of sorts-he dies and reincarnates back into the body he had previously transmigrated into.

[collapse]

I recommend for people who like yandere!MLs (like proper Yuno Gasai level yandere, not just a typical possessive/overbearing ML) or don't mind yandere!MLs in their BLs. The translations are also very well done too. <<less

I don't really put reviews since most of the novels I've read already has a good reputation and amazing reviews but I can't help but post here since I don't want others to miss out since this is fairly new.

DON'T GET DISCOURAGED TO READ THIS!!!

I know that the first 10 chapters may seems like this is just a mindless novel with no clear plot and the 10-30 chapters may turn you off with what seems like emotional dubcon (*there is no r*pe this is important*) and the ML might seem... more>> like a total scum BUT it will all makes sense once you've hit the 30th+ chapters.

I'm honestly quite amazed to how the author probably made a battle plan for this *chuckling* seeing how even the MC, how much more us readers, are very confused. Anyway I liked how it all came through that's why I hope other readers won't give up halfway through reading this or rate this impulsively without reaching the vital parts. That's all~ hope you may have a good day~ <<less

I wouldn't say that this novel is perfect; it has flows, the last arc was dragged out, and the first few arcs were more interesting, but because of the extra chapters, I still gave it 5 stars.

The novel is interesting mostly because of the main characters and their story.
Spoiler

MC is Zomby, and ML is immortal. MC first tranmigrated in the past and then reincarnated. They knew each other in MC's past life. It's a little bit complicated; their story in the past was tragic, but now they finally have a happy ending.

[collapse]

The plot itself isn't great; in the beginning, the story seemed more promising, but good writing, humor, and well-rounded characters balance it. The author switches between comedy and tragedy at a fast pace. It was a nice, light read with lots of humor and love.

What makes the story worth reading is the MC and ML's relationship. ML is a bad person, truly evil. Yes, his past was tragic, and humans made him what he is now. I don't judge him; I can understand him, but this doesn't change the fact that he isn't a good person. MC is kind, naive, and not as s*upid as it may seem, but most of the time he is just hilarious. Their relationship is special because MC knows that ML is a bad person; he doesn't deceive himself into thinking that ML can change or that he is a nice person just because ML is good to him. MC just accepts and loves the other person unconditionally without trying to change him. ML doesn't become a nice person for the sake of love but tries to act normal, at least in front of MC.

Side characters are interesting too, especially General. I was a little bit confused by Bai Yu, but I guess people like him truly exist, and I'm in love with tomb protectors. Who cares how they look 😊.

All in all, it is fun reading and well written with a good pace. I think it's worth reading.

Whoever loves yandere ML shouldn't miss this novel. And it's not only heart wrenching at someparts but funny in many parts. It's an extremely enjoyable novel. The ML loves MC too much. And MC also loves ML the same. They have entanglement of past life. And it should be noted that ML is extream yandere, paranoid and insecure.

A solid novel for yandere lovers or for people like me who like to dabble in a bit of everything as long as it's decent

The novel's essentially about a cheerful innocent boy trying to bring a villain to the light but getting dyed in the villain's color im the end (in his own unique way)

*There is some emphasis on dark and light skin tones so if you're squeamish with this topic and can't accept that different aesthetics don't equal racism (though I do agree sometimes it goes overboard)... more>> then just avoid this novel. You've been warned!

Anyways I had 3 reasons for writing this review (nothing major though, honestly it deserves 4 stars but I'm stingy lolol)

Most important one: I was reading the first 5 or so chapters were we see

the ML fool the MC with lies after lies and take away his will to slowly turn him into an obedient little puppet (don't get me wrong I'm enjoying the mystery and intrigued about how everything is going to come together in the end) then I see comments going 'Omg so sweet'!!!! Or you see ML with clear mental issues fake sadness to deceive MC and gain pity then you see comments going ' aww poor baby, I really wanna hug him right now'...... ummm.....

Spoiler

My dear fellow readers who commented with those vibes I'm sure you're all lovely people but you've all got me worried..... The first few chaps in question might be a bit hot or steamy but they were about as far from romantic as you can get. I might feel safe knowing this crazy ML is confined to the boundaries of the story but the mental shock of seeing modern people I could be meeting every day fawning over the ml's horrifying actions followed me the entire time I binged this story.

[collapse]

Second reason: Something I dislike in bl novels is when all side cps turn out gay (or in this case both yandere and gay) but at least in this novel they weren't too corny and women weren't depicted badly as you often see happen with this troupe

Third reason: I severely disliked ch 48. It was an unnecessary chap imo and I believe it actually kinda destroyed the ml's character setting instead of maintain it as at that point (and later on as well) you still see the occasional madness leak through the ml's gentle facade but ch 48 made him seem like an obsessed psycho who only cares about his own desires as opposed to the crazy villain in love with the MC that we've been shown all novel. So I'd personally recommend skipping this chap since it's irrelevant to the plot anyways.

Anywho rant over, if you enjoy a story where both the good and bad side are all villains then dive in! <<less

MC is hilarious. He’s not a fighter like ML but he keeps you entertained. ML is a yandere but compared to some he’s alright. He’s a little unhinged but he’s more caring and pampering. He’s so dramatic though.

Spoiler

The way he feared MC’s memories coming back and the way he acted I thought MC hated and abandoned him. Like some deep “I could never love you”. MC stayed with him the entire time and was mostly accepting.

[collapse]

The past was interesting and I’m glad that while misunderstanding lasted a while in the story but for us was only a few chapters. The misunderstanding didn’t really impede their intimacy but the resolution allowed for the relationship to progress.

Spoiler about the past and misunderstanding

Spoiler

His death was an injury gained saving ML. He didn’t immediately die but grew weaker with time. The period I thought they were separated, MC was actually sick in bed at ML’s house. After the injury ML became unhinged because turning your back on him was one thing but MC was forsaken as well leading to neither receiving care or help. ML goes on a killing spring for revenge. MC disapproved because it wasn’t revenge anymore but mass mu*der. He develops a bit of fear towards ML as he witnesses his descent into depravity. MC never acted on it though. He couldn’t. He was on his death bed. Anyway, ML believes MC gave his the immortality elixir to punish him, but MC was gonna die no matter what from failing the mission task and that’s why he made ML drink it. He died before he could explain.

[collapse]

The story isn’t perfect but is an enjoyable read. I especially love how flippant MC is compared to the dramatic and serious ML, ̄へ ̄ lol. It’s a perfect match as they balance each other out. <<less

This novel has a rocky start but I do recommend reading it. Up until about chapter 20, things are a little confusing. At first, we're introduced to the MC who has woken up in the body of a 1000 year old zombie/ghoul/reanimated body. He's told by the ML that he's one of the reincarnations of the body, summoned back to the original body by magic. This plot seems pretty straightforward as the MC deals with liking the ML but being unsure if the ML is just using him as a... more>> substitute. Then things get a bit confusing and we learn

Spoiler

that the MC actually was part of a transmigration system. At some point in the past, he transmigrated into the original body and the person the ML fell in love with all those years ago was actually the MC. The original owner of the body and the MC are actually two different people, not reincarnations of the same soul. However, the MC has lost these memories due to failing his task and dying. This is a bit confusing and I didn't actually understand what was going on until the MC basically spelled it out for the readers, haha.

[collapse]

After this revelation, the genre sort of shifts and the ML calms down a bit and is less crazy. I kind of thought the author rushed this and it felt a little abrupt. However, the relationship between the MC and the ML is pretty cute once you figure out what's really going on. By chapter 30, the plot is enjoyable and less confusing, with lots of cute scenes with the main couple.

The only complaint I have is that the story is a bit rushed. Things jump around pretty quickly and plot points are resolved almost as soon as they appear. I would have liked it more if the author had taken their time but otherwise, I'm enjoying the story. <<less

Dropping.

I saw this recommended a few times, it's well rated, and I love yandere characters so I gave it a try. I should have dropped it from the very beginning when they were throwing around the r-word and the f-word. Honestly, I figured maybe it was the translator who couldn't think of better terms (srry translator). My mistake. The humor in this novel is just childish and dumb. I love how the author was like, 'Don't worry guys! He's not black so I'm not racist. Now let the colorism commence!'... more>> There are certainly parts that were interesting, but I only made it as far as I have because I felt like I'm so close to the end I should finish. Nope. The domestic abuse "comedy" scene was the final straw. It's just not not funny at all. I read a chapter or so more past that, again just trying to make it through, but it's just boring. I can't do it anymore.

Its actually so good! Its not your cliché star-crossed lover who reunited and remembering their past or the transmigrator who were bound by a system. Its funny. I like the humor. Eventhough there's slight angst, but the light humor and dark humor are there! A unique story from zombie's pov. Definitely worth to read!

Translation: Pretty good! The translation is well done. Kinda bothered by the translation of the title though. Should be translated as "Me & My Husband Sleep in a Coffin." Seems like the title was just plopped into Google Translate. I almost didn't read it because I thought it was another poorly translated novel... glad that wasn't actually the case.

Story: The MC is a cutie so far and I enjoy his go-with-the-flow kind of attitude. He's making the best of his strange new circumstances, but he's also quite sharp (was... more>> worried that he was being too gullible). ML, on the other hand, is a psycho.
Spoiler

I hope as the story progresses ML redeems himself and shows that he has changed, but was already very put off by the non-consensual stuff that happened prior to MC awakening. Again, why do most BL novels have to involve non-consent?? ? It's not cute and isn't romantic. At ch 21 the story has revealed to be a transmigration plot - which is a genre I'm typically not interested in (which is probably silly because I'm fine with reincarnation plots, but hey, we like what we like). I'm a little surprised, but will keep reading for now to see where it goes.

Don't be discouraged by the confusing beginning, it gets better.

Omg, this is very hilarious. The MC's reactions are just too hilarious. The ML is crazy but I don't blame him for that. He also very much doting on the MC which I really like.

There's no r*pe like element and no coercion which is an A+ in my book.

The story has flow, the side characters are ok. Everything just comes together nicely.

Thank you to the TLs though I don't really like that they omitted some of the extras.

Wasn't expecting where the plot went at all, but totally loved it. What I thought was gonna be some wuxia action and intrigue turned into tomb raiding, zombies living in the modern world, and battling arms dealers. Loved it.

What I remembered:

    • I thought I was going to get a story about the typical sticky demon lord shidi x transmigrated-to-rehabilitate-the-villain shixiong but what I actually got was better!
    • Wang Xiao Mie's (MC) dealings with the system and transmigration are brief, and their history is really only glossed over, but seeing him cozy up to his new demon husband, protect their tomb home, then live on the surface and uncover the truth behind the mysterious zombie-killer arms dealer was WAY more interesting than my original expectations.
    • Yeah if you're looking for any wuxia/martial arts/transmigration storyline, there is practically zilch here
    • SO FUNNY, loved MC's perspective as a modern dude who's also old as hell. And the interactions between him, his husband, and the few side characters had me laughing out loud
    • Genuinely some tense moments and epic fights, and some glimpses into Bai Yu (side character) and Wang Fengjin's (ML) psyche as they develop was truly heart wrenching
    • SILVER HAIRED GONG KASJHFDAKSJFADHKSDH
A super solid 4/5, I will be rereading this one!

This is a very hilarious read. Almost every chapter I laughed my head off. MC is just super funny. ML is super twisted. Lol For 1st part is more about the mystery MC background and ML background, , then the second part is more how they overcome their enemy and slice of life. MC trains of thought were hilarious even the situation were dead serious but with him every thing became light hearted. I love how the author makes here abit serious, then funny, then heartwarming, then funny, aghast and... more>> funny again. Even with heavy comedic elements there’s always a deep twisted elements human and non human psychological nature here. It’s like Stephen chow movies, with over dramatic funny scenes and yet there’s always have a deep emotional (or here in the story twisted) analogy. Anyway I’ve enjoyed reading this novel immensely. Honestly, the story is okay.

It's comedic, slice-of-life-ish, but with zombies. It doesn't read as particularly engrossing to me, the supernatural/zombie aspect and the mystery failed to create much tension.

Maybe I'm just not really into yandere-MLs, because none of the three couples were appealing. Furthermore, the overarching plot isn't really interesting and I wasn't pulled in emotionally at all by the story. The entire thing just read like one long comedy skit.

The author was determined to keep MC as your average dude and ML extremely OP.

MC is basically useless in all the situations despite transmigrating as the ML's shixiong and idol who literally taught the ML everything ??? Lol
