Unfortunately the summary really didn't say much about the story but I daresay this is comparable to "Poisonous Peasant Concubine" sans the faceslapping and politics.

It is a solid slice of life in a village with no drastic ups and downs. Sounds boring? Not if it's well-written. The strongest impression on me are the well-made characters. There is character development and each character has their own imperfections that made them more real and 3d. There is no "evil team vs good team". There are grey areas in everyone as it should be. My fave are the people whom I expect to be cannon fodder villain became friends with Main Cpl. Each one are distinct that even if there are multiple couples you won't get confused over them. Moreever, there are no brainless farming nor any elaborate cooking show just plain everyday lives of country people. Characters are likeable so it's fun to read. Kudos to author that managed to create create ups and downs in the story without adding unnecessary drama. MC is a doctor and he's actually doing doctor stuff in a humble village like he's done with all the fame and career from his last lifetime. I like this down-to-earth gong.

There are mild smut scenes except for one that is explicit but I had to give a headsup that 15/16 is the old 18/20. Just skip that part if you are uncomfortable. It doesn't get in the way of the story and it's a nice bonus for people who like that side couple. <<less

What I like about this novel is that it's centered around the village the MC is in. Even though his relatives later become officials, he himself has never left (i.e. Emigrated from) the village. It's really an excellent slice-of-life novel.

MC slowly builds up his health, deals with day-to-day situations around the village. Tries to help the village.

Moreover, he's not like those reincarnated people (usually, in some novels) that just know everything (and can make from weapons to food to jewelry and whatnot) and develop a huge business and enter officialdom... more>> (perhaps with a ranking of 3rd or higher) even though it's literally impossible.

MC only makes some specialities that he actually knows of, maybe three or four things only. He uses the products that are available in that world to help the villagers.

Although he transmigrated, he's not like some transmigrators who suddenly show abilities that were not supposed be there in the OCs. He actually finds a logical reason, not those that the heavens showed him the way in dreams and such.

And, he's not like a revolutionist who transmigrated to ancient times and clamours to make the world equal all the time, while actually getting to a high position.

There are multiple couples. Some came to like each other at first sight, others have loved each other after they knew each other more. Each pair is made unique and one won't feel that it's a copy of another.

Only one thing feels different: There are no women. This is a world of only men and ger. The pregnancy process of ger feels very magical, even though everything else is rational. (If you replace ger with women, perhaps it would feel like a BG. But different pregnancy reaction actually make me feel that it can't be replaced with BG just that easy.)

A very plain and down to earth slice of life novel. Almost no drama, no face slapping, no step-by-step career growth, just daily life in the village. I find it quite boring, but it is not to bad to kill time. Most of the more exciting plot in the last 10-15 chapters + extras.

Wth. Don't be fooled my sisters. All the comments saying it's so little conflict obviously never read other ancient farming novel like this. I'd say, this is like conflict level 4-5/10 since the story does get a bit tense at certain point. But the intensity spiked up a bit at the end of the novel.

This novel is actually very light and easy to read. And it surprisingly got twist which totally making it different from other farming story. It's heartwarming and not very slow pacing. Heck, it got mid tier... more>> pacing, not too slow tht make u feel like skipping chapters, but not too fast making you feel lost. This story don't really explain the era of which the setting of this story. Some of this type of novel do explain it but it's fine, it's a trivial point.

Though it does have quite some plot holes, but overall, it doesn't effect the story. Truly recommend if you wish not to read such heavily dramatic, face slapping, scheming, dying, killing, gore, not wuxia, not palace drama, not harem, this is it. Another story for slice of lover.

The mtl is a bit confusing as compared to others. And the way they addressed the 'ger' or brother is so different. And how the red mole function is so fresh. Like, there never been any ger story that really use tht function. Hahahaha. <<less

To each their own, but this isn't for me. It's too much slice of life for my taste and coupled with the disjointed flow, the novel left me bored and at times confused.

I am also not a big fan of ger stories with no women, whats the point? The ger is the womans role and everything just reads as a b/g story so why not just write a b/g novel. Only difference is the magical cinnabar mole, which seemed out of place in a normal nonmagical society, but I'm nitpicking... more>> there.

This is so good, I can't even explain it.

I am a HUGE fan of TGCF and never thought I would find something that I would like it as much as TGCF. But I was so wrong.I can gladly say this hidden gem right here has also reached my top favourite list that previously only included TGCF. This is a gem.

It is different from other farming novels that focuses on world building. This is a slice of life that you want in your everyday boring life.

This novel has a real farming story! I really liked the MC, he is not like other MCs of other said farming story, that they will look down on farming and will not farm at all and will try everything to get out of the vilage as soon as posible, he is deffrent, he will go to farm with his famely happily, will not dislike his new parents and leave the hard work for them. He is really good.

I enjoyed this story, the story was enough for me.

The supporting characters are also given good stories, of all the stories there are a few that make me curious. For example, I'm just worried about Zhang Lei, isn't there an explanation as to why he's like this? what really happened with Zhang Lei? Why could he go through a state of torture to the point of taking his partner's ashes? Then Elder Wang, what happened to his son, who died in his house?

At the end of the story about Lin Wen made me shed tears... the touching love story of the handsome student Wen Shu and Lin wen his little cat.

Finally I found all the extras, there is a story about Zhang Lei, it turns out that his fiancée was sold to a brothel and the last story became an incarnation, Zhang lei was given one more chance to repeat his life story. After that there is the story of Tang Feng's father, with Li Huan, the son of Physician Li, it turns out that they used to date and Li Huan cheated on him with another man, making Tang's father heartbroken and rose to run for village head and then met Mrs. Guo, his heart beat faster. There is also an extra about Wen Qing and Han Luo who are very much in love with each other. It's nice to see people who were created in pairs... <<less

I tell you, the story is as Exciting a Slice of Life Anime/Manga out there. Well plot, Lively Characters, Great relationship between characters, Well written pace of the story... Anyway everything is Sooooooo Well that is Thaaat Goooood!!!

I loved! It was a light but exciting read. Especially the ending and the extra chapters, god those extras were so good that I cried 🤧🥺 I don't have much to say, the story is quite complete in every way, damm even the secondary characters have a development and an outcome! Well very good, this novel goes to my reading list when the translation is complete 💅✨

a very calm story, MC is a doc, teacher, scholar and businessman, though he eventually directs his focus back to being a doctor. Side characters are also given decent screen time.

The story is very nice and relaxing, and there are not too many bad people or annoying families like in many other migration stories. The filly, despite his possibilities of going far and becoming a civil servant, simply wants a quiet life with his family, and that is what he achieves. It is a beautiful story to read, highly recommended.
